Hi Sushmita,
Now getting into technical platforms all the days we need to be updated like;
previously we have BW 3.5 now BI 7.0 and BO-business objects and BPC-Business planning and consolidation. Like the way u learn and get expertise there will be another tool in the world arises.
So, its better to be in the present technology and try to upgrade your skills on BI. In this recession and bad market period don't take any chance to leave present technology which you know better.
Coming to BI; it's a beautiful tool and got many many advantages comparing with other tools.
now BI is not the only skill set needed; you should know BO and also some knowledge in BPC.
So, better to stay in the own area and keep upgraded.
End choice is yours and ALL THE VERY BEST.
With Regards,
Ravi Kanth.

  • E-Recruiting 6.0 - Internal Candidates

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone tell me in the standard SAP system, when a 'Leaving Action' is being performed for an employee via PA40 (which means in E-Recruiting, HRP5102, the IS_INACTIVE field is 'x'), in E-Recruiting 'Candidate Overview' transaction screen, do I STILL see the 'Personnel Number' appearing at his candidate profile ?
Reason why I am asking this question is because currently I have 2 clients setup in my project environment. And each is giving me a different response. I am not sure which client is installed incorrectly which gives the wrong response.
    Many thanks in advance.
    Bill

    Hello Bill,
unfortunately the information that an internal candidate has left (or will leave - in this case the is_inactive flag will be set at the leave date via a periodical service processing table t77rcf_p_stat) can be easily seen on the databese but not in the e-recruiter applications.
I am not really sure if the employee id should disappear in candidacy table or not (customers see this different according to their attitute to rehiring people) but in general sap did not implement alot of functionalities to differ between internal and external candidates. Ok there is something for correspondence but it is not even possible to have different questionaires in the application wizard for external iand internal applicants.
In my opinion I'd assume that an employee applying on an internal position and leaving in the process is a 1 of 1000 case, as long as the process does not take eternities so I personally would not invest much effort into it. You cannot handle every special case in a system (or at leat noone pays for it) and from my experience in companies up to perhaps 2k employees, everyone in HR knows who leaves.
If you really have a strong business need in this issue, e.g. positions are published internally and once someone leaves has imedeately taken of the position you could use the the e-recruiting BAdI which is available in the BAdI implementation delivered by SAP to handle the candidate creation and stuff. You could add functionality into it that it tracks if there is a leave and the candidate has open applications and send the recruiter of the requisition an email. Other solution might be a periodical service or any other background job which checks this and destributes the information so the recruiter can take the necessary actions.

  • Internal/External option in the Transformation

    Hello experts,
Please tell me about Internal/External option in the Transformation under Proposal Tab. When we go for Internal And when we go for external.

i think external is used when your source system is flat file. Normally the data from R/3 use internal format.

  • Link survery (and multiple surveys) to position in ECM

    Hello
We are evaluating job pricing in ECM. We would need to link the survey (multiple surveys) to the position rather than the job. Can anyone direct me as to how we can handle this.
I know it sounds out of the norm but that is how my company does it.
    Thanks - Karrie

    Hi Kerrie,
Did you find a solution to this issue, I am searching for the same solution that is matching SAP internal positions with external survey jobs.

  • ODI and Loading to/Extracting from Hyperion Planning **?

    All,
first--I am not a Hyperion expert.
    Clients have 2 requirements:
#1. Loading data ( flat file format residing in Windows environment) ''to'' Hyperion Planning 9.3.1
#2. Extracting Data 'From' Hyperion Planning 9.3.1 to a flat file ( residing in Windows environment)
    Questions:
    #1 I have looked at materials at OBE > ( http://ias.us.oracle.com/portal/page?_pageid=33,1704614&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL)
I have been able to reverse engineer a Hyperion application in ODI. but apparently that's not all, and there is additional work to be done in Hyperion itself
namely---'preparing' dimensional members, before loading any data.
Let's say the input data is comprised of: Product_code, Account_num, Period, Amount
Can someone explain how the following recommended steps by Hyperion example can plays out to load this data?
    1) Loading Metadata? ( what needs to be added/changed in Hyperion diemnsion)
    2) Loading Data?
#2 do we have to use ODI to create interface and extract/write data from Hyperion to a flat file? isn't there any Hyperion 'Facility' which does that?
    any pointers is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Unfortunately there is no SSO option from "Planning to FDM" via Tasks.
The URL you should tell Planning to launch in a new window is 'http://<ServerName>/HyperionFDM'
If Planning can not execute that in a fresh IE window; then there isn't much that can be done.
It might also be advantageous to post this to the Planning group as well; since this isn't necessarily an FDM discussion.
    Thank you,

  • 2010 13" MBP Wont boot from internal. Will boot from external

This is fairly long winded, I will try to be as clear as i can.
Last week my 13" MBP refused to boot after running out of battery during sleep.
I have done the following to the original drive:
Booted from Lion Recovery, repaired, verified, and repaired/verified permissions.
Booted from Snow Leopard DVD, done the above.
Used Disk Utility on another Mac, done the above.
The drive still will not boot from the internal cable.
I can see the drive when attached internally, but cannot do any of the above actions as it is "unable to unmount"
I can boot from the drive if I use a USB external adaptor.
I bought a new hard drive....
I have done all the same on the new HDD with additionaly installing fresh Lion / Snow Leopard to the new drive whilst its in the internal position (Leopard from the DVD originating with my laptop, Lion from Lion Recovery whilst the other drive was on USB) but still having the same problem when it comes to booting - i.e. wont boot from internal. will boot from external USB.
Ideally I would like to end up with a lean install of lion, on the new hdd, booting from inside the laptop.
Please help, this is driving me mad.

I think you have solved your own problem. If you have two different HD's and they both do not work once connected, but do when placed in an external enclosure, then I would think it has something to do with the connection.
Slap the old drive back in the machine, and take it to the genius bar, and have them diagnose it. Hopefully they will have an answer for you. If not, bring the other drive too inside he external enclosure, and show them that it boots via the external.
Then, lay the whammy on them, and tell them that the original drive works inside the enclosure too.
Would be interesting to know what the actual issue is, and the resolution as well...

  • E-Recruiting 6.0: Search Profile & Search Template

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to enhance and configure the Search function (which can be triggered in Talent Management or Candidate Selection Search) in  E-Recruiting 6.0
Can anyone tell me the difference in config/purpose between the config:IMG->SAP E-Recruiting->Recruitment->Talent Warehouse->Candidate->Candidate Search, Search Profile and Search Template?
I read the online help and it only describe about Search Template and not Search Profile.  I also check the standard system and it only displays what is configured for Search Template and NOT Search Profile.
Is the Search Profile still in use and what is the purpose if I have already configured the Search Template?
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to get .oce to talk to DAS & bring back data in Interactive Reporting?

    Hi Hyperion Experts,
This is also a fairly basic question, I use Hyperion 9.3.1 and I have Shared Services, Workspace and Interactive Reporting Studio running on our Windows 2003 Server.
My goal is to import a .bqy document I created in Interactive Reporting Studio into workspace, and be able to click on the "refresh" button and see it refreshes the data from the backend Oracle 10g database.
I have completed the following steps so far,
    1. I have created a DSN. This DSN, named "Oracle 10g Data Source", when I clicked on "Test Connection" button, It ran successfully.
    2. I have created a new Datasource entry in the DAS service. If I double click on the newly created Datasource entry, the screen would display the following details.
    Connectivity Type = Oracle Net
    Database Type = Oracle
Enter the name of the Data source = Oracle 10g Data Source
Select the name of the Data source (it is grayed out, nothing selected)
Server/File (it is grayed out, nothing entered)
then, followed by some default connection parameters.
    3. I have created a "Oracle 10g Data Source.oce" file using the Interactive Reporting Studio. I saved the .oce file at
    C:\Hyperion\BIPlus\data\Open Catalog Extensions\Oracle 10g Data Source.oce
    4. I created a new constrProj_Oracle10gOCE.bqy, during the creation, I chose
"Create a new document with Recent Database Connection File" option, then I chose the Oracle 10g Data Source.oce that I have created in step 3. After I log in with host user/password, I have created a data model and I see that it brings back a data set when I clicked on the "process" button. I saved this .bqy document.
    5.
I imported the Oracle 10g Data Source.oce and constrProj_Oracle10gOCE.bqy into the workspace under a folder called
    Root/MYBI/Test
    6. I right click on the constrProj_Oracle10gOCE.bqy document, and chose "Open". It opened with Results section highlighted on the left hand side, and with data showing on the right hand side. However, when I clicked on the "refresh" button, I'd get a message box with a red X. It says,
An Interactive Reporting Service error has occurred -
    Failed to acquire requested service.
    (2001)
I guess the data I see in this constrProj_Oracle10gOCE.bqy was just the cached data that was brought back when I hit the process button of this .bqy when it was first created in the Studio, and that it never established any connection via the DAS service to the backend.
Could someone please show me what I have done wrong here?
    thanks,
    hypuser1010

    EricaHarris,
Yes, the issue is still open. Obviously, I have gone down the path of "Scenario One".
Based on your reply, I have done the following.
There are three things I am configuring here: DSN, DAS and OCE.
    1) When I created the DSN,
I started the ODBC Data Source Administrator, Click on second tab "System DSN". I added a new ODBC Data Source.
Data Source Name = Oracle 10g Data Source
    TNS Service Name = //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/MYORCL0617
    2) I re-created the DAS entry, per your suggestion, I made sure that "the name of the data source will be the host name you specified in your OCE".
    Connectivity Type = Oracle Net
    Database Type = Oracle
Enter the name of the data source= //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/MYORCL0617
    3) for my OCE, I specified
    Connection Software = Oracle Net
    type of Database = Oracle
    on the first screen.
then, on the next screen, I specified
    Host = //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/MYORCL0617
I reployed the OCE, the .bqy document and restarted DAS. Yes, my .bqy document does refresh its data successfully from the backend.
However, I am not 100% convinced that the .bqy uses the OCE which talks to the DAS, which talks to the DSN entry and brings data back to the .bqy document.
    Here is what I did,
I opened up the DSN entry, changed the TNS Service Name from //146-abc.xyz.com:1521/MYORCL0617 to
//146-abc.xyz.com:1521/NONSENSE. I then restarted DAS and redeployed the .bqy document. the .bqy document is still able to refresh its data. So, I have just proven that the .bqy document does not need a valid DSN entry to work, how come??
Can you (or anyone) please explain the phenomenon that I see?
Also, a very basic question. you know that when you create a .bqy in the Studio, you "import" an OCE into the .bqy document so that the .bqy knows that it should use this OCE to talk to the backend data source. but, when you deploy this .bqy in workspace, how does the .bqy know that it is supposed to go through DAS (and DSN) to interact with the database, rather than the "internal" OCE that was pre-built with this .bqy?
    thanks,
    hypuser1010

  • Adding new input fields in CRM

    Hello All,
    I have the below requirement.
I have to introduce new input fields in CRM for sales order creatio. These fields are to capture customer PO line item number and customer material number.
Is there any standard field already available where we can capture this and replicate to ECC?.
If not please help me on the below things.
How can i introduce new fields in CRMD_ORDER and map these fields to ECC fields.
    Please help me.
    Regards,
    Shanto Aloor

    Hello,
I take a look at the table CRMD_ORDERADM_I and I see that there are two fields for the item number.
    - number_int - Internal position number
    - number_ext - external position number
Maybe you can use the field number_ext for you customer line number
For the field customer material number I found the fields:
ORDERED_PROD - CRM product number and
PARTNER_PROD - Product number of the business partner
As well i am not sure, but maybe you can use the field PARTNER_PROD for the customer material number. If this is not working you can enhance the position fields on two ways:
If this is not working you can enhance the position data:
    (1) Old way using easy enhancement Werkbench
You can use the transaction AET to generate new fields at the position. On this ocasion you should enhance the CRMD_CUSTOMER_I database table.
    (2) New way using application enhancement workbench
The AET can be used at the webclient ui. Here you can easily generate new fields for the order. Please use the expert mode, because there you can define the fieldname at the database. Here you enhance the table CRMD_CUSTOMER_I, too.
For the replication you have to take a look at the BADI CRM_DATAEXCHG_BADI. You can use the method CRM_DATAEXCH_AFTER_BAPI_FILL to fill the bapi structures with your new fields and send it to the ECC.
    Greetings

  • Lost my way?important!

Someone may think I shoud not post this question overhere, but I know this is a good place, because there are many hyperion experts who know many many skills. Here is my problem: I have 10 years of experience in Hyperion SQR reporting. As we know, SQR language is used in both PeopleSoft and Hyperion, but 90% is in peoplesoft, and 10% is in Hyperion. For me, I only use SQR in Hyperion and know nothing about peoplesoft. If I use Hyperion SQR as a job title to look for a job in Canada, no positions can be found. But if I use SQR developer as a job title, there are many positions, all of them is about Peoplesoft SQR, as soon as they know I know nothing about Peoplesoft system, they give me up. So I have to rename my job title as Hyperion Developer, ok, there are a lot of Hyperion developer positions indeed. But hyperion is a huge package, Essbase, Planning, HFM, DIM, ODI, .... There are too many skills to know. I use 1.5 year to learn the other Hyperion skills, and can only come to the basic level for most of the other hyperion skills.
Now, I am lucky to sit on a Hyperion SQR project in USA, and I have time to learn new skills.
Please experts gave me some advices, should I learn some peoplesoft skills, and make me more like a PeopleSoft SQR developer? If I learn PeopleSoft, peoplesoft is also a huge package, many things to learn. Or I keep learning the other Hyperion skills, even if they have nothing to do with SQR? Or there is the 3rd way? Or 4th way?
I lost my way in the career market, and not sure what I should do the next step, please experienced experts point out the way for me, very thanks!

I would recommend marketing yourself as a BI Developer / Reporting expert - someone who understands both Hyperion and SQR for reporting. SQR in PeopleSoft is used for both reporting and processing. The functionality / code for both are the same. You can discuss during interviews that you have done SQR reports and can easily pickup developing SQR processes.
Once you get a project as an SQR developer, work hard to get experience in App Designer and App Engine to learn PeopleSoft.
