International support or support while traveling

Currently while traveling in Germany my macbook died on me. I can't get any response from it at all. I still have apple care but it expires august 30th just after I arrive back home in Canada. I've tried calling apple but it is very difficult to since I am only able to call from Germany and the 1 800 number doesn't work. In addition to my computer not starting the case is cracked and broken in a number of places, like many plastic macbooks and when charging the battery at it's final stage the power adaptor switches from charging to not charging and takes forever to completely charge. I'd like to have the problems looked at before apple care runs out but I am unsure what is my best plan of action. Any suggestions?
also the power charges does the same thing on my husbands macbook pro.

Welcome to Apple Discussions!
AppleCare is worldwide where coverage is available. To contact them in Germany, call:
(49) 01805 009 433
Also note, since you have cracks in the case, you may or may not get a sympathetic ear. Cracks usually indicate some form of abuse or improper handling on your part or whomever had ahold of the machine. If the cracks appeared after it being manhandled by security improperly, you might have a case against the security or airline where you passed it through. There are also cases which Apple does document where the power adapter can fail to charge. I've listed some of those documents and given a few tips of my own, on*:
http://www.macmaps.com/frayguide.html
Apple did have a battery exchange program on some MacBooks and MacBook Pros, but that exchange program has been over for awhile. Still if you bring it in to an authorized service center, you might find a sympathetic ear there. Just remember warranty is only for manufacturer defects, it is not for user induced damage. That's what insurance is for, such as travel insurance and home owners insurance.
You can find service providers under this website:
http://www.apple.com/de/buy/shop/
After entering the nearest Apple shop, you'll find a button that says search if that isn't an authorized dealer, and get a map, that says below it "Sie moechten" with a pulldown menu beneath it "einen Mac Kaufen" Change that pulldown menu and select "Service Finden", and type to the right where you reside or "wohnen". Then click on Suchen.
This will give you all the authorized service providers in that location.

Is there any way to check your roaming minutes while traveling internationally?

    Hi Icebreaker
Thanks for getting back to me.
I successfully upgraded the Firmware to the latest available on the site - I don't have the camera here to confirm the vesion number but the upgraded Firmware was reported in the setup application.
WPA is AES, which is all that the Thomson router seems to support and I did notice that the camera was looking for TKIP. However, I have tried with WEP and no security to test, with no luck either. I am testing with the camera within 10 feet or so of the router and getting an error message re. checking network condition and the Network doesn't seem to even 'See' the camera as such and the Wireless LED is not lighting up. That's why I was wondering if the Wireless was faulty.
    thanks again

  • My message page is frozen while traveling with an international data plan. Cannot use my messaging. Help?

Message page frozen while traveling in Italy. Have international data plan but cannot get or receive messages. How can I get off frozen page?

You want to call and get the internation data plan.  its 25 dollars for 100 mb.  if you dont buy that plan it is like 20.43 per MB.  Very expesnive.  You have the option to just turn cellular data off and only use wifi.  if you dont buy the global data poackage your going to want to do that because your phone will use data even if your not doing naything.  That 25 dollar data package works for most countrys

  • How to find out font does not have international support

    Hi,
OS X claims itself Unicode supporting system - that is true however only a minor portion of native or preinstalled fonts support CE accented characters such as ľĺščťďžýáíéŕňäúô.
The question is: how can I find out which font has international support and which doesn't?
The problem is, that when you use font without CE support, it replaces problematic characters with the closes match (e.g. instead of Geneva you will get Arial for certain CE characters). This is sometimes very hard to spot and you often find this out in prints where every now and then a single character is printed in different font/size or missing altogether. And attempt to print document usually escalates the problem.
Windows supports CE and many other alphabets in its standard English distribution with ALL its core fonts. It is a SHAME that Apple plainly ignores half of the planet for so many years (I understand, however, that half of the planet does not equal half of the market.).

Well, regarding iWork I would like to use the fonts
that are bundled and used for the templates because
they are pretty. I don't want to spent hundreds of
extra dollars on buying crippled CE versions.
I think you misunderstood me. One can't even use CE fonts with OS X (except in a couple of obsolete apps) and I would never recommend that anyone acquire or install them. I meant that you could change the default fonts in the templates to other Unicode fonts that do include the Latin Extended-A block needed for CE languages.
I assume you're aware that Apple OS X apps can also use all the MS and Adobe and other Unicode fonts made for Windows that do contain Latin Extended-A, so you are not confined to Apple's fonts?
I grant that it would be better if all the Unicode fonts supplied with OS X, iWork, and iLife included more character ranges, but the current state for CE scripts is at least a whole lot better than for the Arabic or Devanagari scripts, where there is only one font available and Windows fonts usually cannot substitute.

  • Customer Service while traveling Internationally

I am currently on business in India and would like to contact customer service but am unable to do so through the 1-800 number. I have sent e mails through the website but have received no response. My inquiries are regarding possible international calling plans that would allow me to not be charged full roaming fees. I have an HTC Droid Eris which is not a world phone but still works here, apparently because of other CDMA networks here. I would also like to pay my bill for this month but am apprehensive to do so online because of India being known for very poor internet security and frequent credit card scamming. Any response would be very appreciated.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble contacting Customer Service while traveling internationally. I have researched some information and will be glad to  provide you with a number you can contact Customer Service while out of the United States.
    CDMA – 1 908-559-4899
    GSM - 1 908-559-4899
You can also dial 908-559-4899 from a non Verizon Wireless device or landline.
I hope this information is helpful to you! Please let us know if you are still experiencing difficulties contacting Verizon Wireless.

how do i enable my international data while traveling abroad? in settings?

Settings/General/Network - Data Roaming (off/on). If you plan to turn it on be sure to subscribe to a data roaming package or you could be hit with a bill for thousands of (your currency). And you also need to have your carrier provision your account for internatonal usage.

My USB charger is not supporting while i am connecting from PC to iPad for charging (showing as " Not Charging"), Kindly advice me

    Hi Folks,
I have tried most of what have been said here ( thank you for the great Job) but unforunatally it didn't solve the issue.
However, now the "Not Charging" message in the right corner disappeared and my iPad is charging normally from my laptop.
The reason behind that is using the USB3.0 port in my Dell inspiron N5110. Earlier, I was using the USB 2.0  ports and that is why it was showing that message but as sooon as I pluged it in the eSATA USB 3.0 port , the message disapeared and the iPad started charging normally.
So don't waste ur time here and there try to plug it to USB 3.0 port and it will works, Insha ALLAH.
    Cheers

  • Is there any way to use iphone as a backup for images while travelling

Iphone would make a great back up store for digital images taken with a real camera while travelling, if there was a way to transfer full resolution image files from a PC to iphone via USB. When I am travelling light, I dont carry a laptop with itunes and the iphone doesn't appear as a drive when connected to a computer. Not sure why the file system is hidden.
    Any ideas for this?

The iphone does not support disk mode, which would allow it to be used for storage.
At present, I know of no way to do what you want.

  • Can I store photos from ipad while travelling for later download to my mac desktop

can I store photos from ipad while travelling for later download to my mac desktop

If you mean by using photo stream, you can but iCloud only keeps photo stream photos for 30 days.  You will need to download them to your Mac during this 30 day window or they will no longer be available.
Or, just leave the photos in the camera roll on your iPad until you return, then import them to iPHoto on your Mac as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • Fail error when opening cd and dvd: 'director player error: internal error: unexpected failure while compositing bitmap 5 of PLAYER-CAST 2'. How do I fix this?

I have a new laptop acer aspire e17, running windows 8.1. I have downloaded flash, shockwave and java. Everytime i try to run an interactive cd i use for study, the error message in the title comes up.
'director player error: internal error: unexpected failure while compositing bitmap 5 of PLAYER-CAST 2'
I have checked that all the browsers on my computer support shockwave (the cartoon is playing on chrome, mozilla and IE).
The interactive cd and dvds work on other laptop, not working on this one.
    How can I fix this?
    Thanks.

It will now play audio cds and dvds. The computer asks me what to do with them first. The problem is still the cd i use for study. Its is an interactive cd - it is its own application - clicking on images and animations to teach vowel sounds, sentences etc.
The disc works on my other laptop, which is running in windows 7. All discs are recognised by my windows 7 and 8.1 dvd/cd player/writer, but when the title page for the interactive cd pops up on windows 8.1, the director error message pops up and the homepage shuts down with the message.
I feel like Im sure there is a package or a patch I can download to fix this issue, I just need to know what. Please help.

    Hey iWeb plubishing problems,
I would first check to make sure that you meet the system requirements for OS X to support Documents in the Cloud. For that your Mac’s needs to be running at least OS X Lion 10.7.5 or later to make sure that everything syncs. Take a look at the article below for more information.

  • How can I purchase products from the app store while travelling outside my country of residence?

How can I purchase products from the app store while travelling outside my country of residence? We are from Canada, travelling in the USA and wish to buy a TV series but get a message to buy it from the Canadian store. When we tried to do this we got the same message.

According to the terms of sale, you have to be in your country of residence in order to make a purchase. I've heard of people able to make purchases outside their country and also of people being unable to do so. It appears that Apple's enforcement is not 100%.
In order to buy from the U.S. iTunes Store, you would need to have a valid billing address in the U.S., a credit card billed to that address or an iTunes Gift card purchased in the U.S. and be physically present in the U.S. at the time of purchase.
International copyright law is currently very inconvenient for the consumer.
    Best of luck.
