International texts not going through all of a sudden - ATT, Iphone4

Hello,
Long story short - I have one contact that I text regularly in Shanghai, China (I'm in the USA). I have an international texting plan on my AT&T account that gives me a better price. I have been texting her for almost 3 months without problem. Well, I recently went to visit her in Shanghai,and since I have returned from China, she no longer receives any of my texts. I get texts from her just fine, and when I send them to her, they don't bounce back and I get no error messages. So on my end everything looks like it went through. I had her verify that she can get texts from others in the US and there is no problems there. It is just from me that they don't show up on her end. I spent over an hour on the phone with AT&T today and basically got nowhere. They have identified no problems as of yet and just had me reset my network settings. I was told to call back tomorrow if if didn't work. Well it didn't. They asked me several times if the phone was dropped, exposed to water, etc...Nothing physically has caused any phone damage. I can receive texts from her internationally, and all of my domestic texts come and go through just fine. I'm guessing something got squirlly after I returned to the US somehow. The phone obviously recognized where I was because I couldn't access several features without turning data roaming on, which I never did. I changed no setings at all while I was gone. They also suggested it my be version 6.0, but again, this was installed well before my trip and there were no issues after installitation. The problems didn't start until I returned to the states. Any ideas? I appreciate and advice you may have.

I know the importance of ensuring your device and service is working properly kthompson91. To clarify, are you getting restricted when anyone calls you or just one specific number? What make and model phone do you have? Are you also having issues with not getting text messages from a certain number?

Hello,
We don't have any reported issues of call malfunction. (There aren't any "international" calls with Skype). All Skype calls are "local" worldwide including calls from one country to another.
Please contact customer service

I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac

Texts not going through to other networks

I am able to receive texts from everyone, but my replies are not going through (we are talking about ALL other carriers). I called verizon customer service, only to be told it couldn't possibly be an issue with them, and that it was every other carrier who was having the problem. Is anyone else having this issue? I have reprogrammed the phone, shut it off and on, and everything else I could think of.

ZenBadger, thank you for your inquiry. I understand it can be frustrating to not know whether your text messages are going thru or not. Your issue seems to be different from the original post. Is your husband just having problems receiving text from his boss, or all of his text messages sporadic? First, please make sure he has the current software, which is ED05. Go to Settings, About phone, Software updates, Check for new updates. If the software is current and this is still happening, try first clearing cache/data from the Messages. This will not erase any messages.
The last step if still occurring would be to complete a factory reset. This will erase all data from the phone and reset it to factory default settings. He will need to verify his contacts are saved in either Google or Backup Assistant. Music, pictures, videos, etc that are on the memory card will not be erased.

Texts not going through to only one number

I tried looking at the other answers but none of them worked. I have a Env3 and the person i'm trying to send messages to has verizon also and ive been texting him before with no problem. My number isnt blocked or anything like that. I tried the reprogramming things and taking the battery out but my messages still wont go through. They just are still sending and not received. Sometimes they went through hours after but now theyre not going through at all. Thanks for the help

I'm having the same issue on my Blackberry 9330. Seems to happen to 1 or 2 specific numbers. I cannot send a new message or reply to a message sent to me from that number. Receiving messages works fine. The number i'm sending to is using Verizon Wireless as well. I have reprogrammed and removed the battery,

Texts not going through to certain numbers after OS update

So I have been dealing with this issue for a while, and now am finally sick and tired of putting up with it. Got my iPhone 4 8GB almost a year ago. My wife is also on my Verizon plan and she has a Pantech Jest2 phone. We could text back and forth, no issues, until I upgraded my phone iOS to version 6.1.2 (10B146). Suddenly after the update, we noticed that I was receiving texts from her phone, but when I tried to text back, my phone acts like it was sent, but my wife never receives them on her end. It has caused several inconveniences so far. I can text back and forth from everyone else I know, just not my wife's phone. I tried going through the whole imessaging settings, etc., etc. Still nothing. I had done some searching online and saw people having a whole slew of varying text problems after the iOS update, but most of them were texts were not working altogether. Like I mentioned, it works fine, except when sending messages to the wifes Pantech Jest2. Any ideas for a fix? I know Apple has released another OS update since then but am reluctant to download as from what I've read, it does not address this problem, and am afraid another update will cause even more issues.

Your efforts are greatly appreciated, we'll get this figured out! I would like to identify the culprit because the issue could be her device versus yours. Her device may have an issues receiving messages instead of you having issues sending messages. Is she able to receive text from all other contacts? Please check your contact listing associated with her to ensure the 10 digit number is listed correctly. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Texts not going through for some people only

The problem I'm having is that my niece(iphone5), 2 nephews(iphone4), one nephews girlfriend(iphone4), my sister and her fiance(iphone4) all have verizon as the provider for there service and since day 1 when my nephew bought the iphone4 all the texts I've sent him never went through. Here's the funny thing....everyone else gets them except him and I don't get his either. I have a blackberry 9310 with boostmobile so I decided to send him a message but to the default verizon phone email address so I sent one to [email protected] and another to [email protected] he only received the one I sent to the vzwpix address but when he replied I never got it. I asked him to send it to boost's default sms address ([email protected]) and finally I got it, for the first 3 weeks it worked but I had to keep the first text he sent me and just reply to it (I know a big never ending reply) anyway.... all of a sudden without any warning we ended up not getting anything all over again but everyone else is fine. I have to text his girlfriend to tell him whatever I need to tell him and they live together and share the same plan soooooo..........HEEELLPPPP!! Has anyone out there had this type of issue? also, its been a good 8 months of this and yes I reset his phone, I reset my phone, I upgraded his and mine with the latest everything and still no luck.

Thanks for following up, ProRay298. Does your friend also have an iPhone? If so, please have her check her blocked contacts by going to Settings>Phone>Blocked and make sure you are not listed. Is it possible that she shares her Apple ID with another iPhone? Please also try disabling your iMessage by going to Settings>Messages and switching iMessage to off. Keep us posted.

Texts not going through to one contact

Hi there - I've been trying to look up how to fix this for ages, but can't find anything that solves it.
On July 7th, texts to one contact stopped going through. I could still recieve texts from him, but he can't receive any that I send. He has AT&T as a provider. He is getting texts from other people, and I can send texts to other people just fine. I am not sure what the problem is. I have tried *288 and option 1, I have tried taking the battery out, I even did a full reset of my phone, and cleared everything (including my pictures.. ) but nothing worked.
This is the contact that I text the most, so I don't know if I hit some sort of limit or what.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

I would like to contribute more information that would be helpful. Typically if its an issue with text messages not transmitting to and/or from only one person or one carrier, it's probably something I can resolve by escalating this to our network team that will work with the other carrier to get this fixed.
Please PM me with your name and mobile number and the mobile number of the person you can't message with. I will escalate from there.

Case structure not going through all cases before restarting

In your case labeled "exhauset 24", you reset the state back to "valve 2 open".
Your program is way (way!!) too convoluted to do any serious code maintenance. Properly written, the same functionality can be achieved wich much less code. 90% of your code is duplicate. Why don't you use arrays?

thank you ahead of time for all of your help! I have a blackberry storm (not my favortie phone) and received a call from my friend whom informed me he was trying to text me. I never received any of the texts. I then attempted to text him and he never received my texts. While we were attemtping to "fix" this problem we both received texts from other people. I called verizon and the guy I spoke to has no answer. He said that he has never seen this before. The CSR told me that I needed to reboot my phone, which I did. I'm still not getting any texts from him and he's still attempting to send them. Were messaging online right now. Does anyone have any idea as to what's going on?

If the same problem is happening to both of you, I doubt it the fault of your phones. It is more than likely a problem with the server for the SMS messages. I would give it a little time and see if it clears up tomorrow. If you still continue to have problems, then call *611 customer service again.

International iMessage not going through

I'm on an iPhone 4 on 5.1.1. I'm in Asia trying to send iMessages back to the U.S. because it doesn't use texting costs, but I can't get any to go through to other iPhones on 5.x in the USA. I have 3G, data and roaming turned off - do any of these affect iMessage? Whenever I go to message someone, there is no option but to send the message as a text message.

Also, please note that the iPhone you want to iMessage, must have iMessage turned on and you must use either a number or an email that has been configured in that iPhone as "receiving at ....."

My Texts Not Going Through to Friend With AT&T

I have a Verizon account, and iPhone 4s. My best friend has a non-smart phone. As of about two months ago, I can receive his texts, but he does not receive mine. His service provider is AT&T. We can talk to each other, but he does not receive my texts. I seem to be the only contact that he has this issue with. He has several other contacts who have iPhones who do not have this issue with him.
So far I have done a reset, deleted and reentered him in my contacts. Tried using a 1 before his area code and number, checked my blocked contact, and enabled "Send as SMS" in my settings. I'm at a loss for more things to try. Any ideas for help?

Verizon reps do not respond to every thread on the forum, and the ones they do respond to may be days after a post is left. They also only respond to posts marked as a question; this one, unfortunately, wasn't. And to re-post it and mark it as a question is a violation of the forum's Terms of Service (duplicate posts aren't allowed). Have you searched this forum for similar issues?

IPhone 5 texts not going through

I continue to have problems with sending texts to non iPhone customers. My phone shows that my text was complete but they just never receive it. Any suggestions??

Texts to non-iOS device users, or SMS are handled by the carrier. Check with your carrier to ensure you have a texting plan and that it is activated. They can also check to see if there are any problems with the account.

if you wish to have a way to break out of the loop, say, when you press enter at the VPC number without entering anything, add the following after your vpc input:

which will break out of the while loop and end your program.
