Internet Access Not Available on WAP Guest Network

Hello,
We have the RV180W router and the WAP321 access point in our business. We want to broadcast two SSIDs from both locations: the office SSID, which shares routing to LAN traffic, and a guest SSID.
The office computers are attached via ethernet to a switch off of LAN port 1 on the router. The AP is attached to LAN port 2 on the router.
On the router, the office SSID and the LAN are members of VLAN 1. The guest network is a member of VLAN 2. From the router, everything works just fine.
On the WAP, the staff SSID works fine, but the guest SSID has no internet. Both the office and guest networks get DHCP successfully from the router.
Our VLAN membership table in the router and WAP are attached, as well as other configuration details.
Why would we not be getting internet on the guest ID only on the WAP? Thanks for your help!

Applying specific DNS configurations for VLAN2 and on the AP does not resolve the issue either.
Here's a bit more clarification.
From the router:
Staff network works just fine (IP in subnet 192.168.1.1 is given, internet can be accessed)
Guest network works just fine (IP in subnet 192.168.2.1 is given, internet can be accessed)
From the AP:
Staff network works just fine (IP in subnet 192.168.1.1 is given, internet can be accessed)
Guest network can be accessed with limited connectivity (IP in subnet 192.168.2.1 is given, internet cannot be accessed)
The guest network from the AP is the only oddball. The only thing I can think that seems different is the subnets. For the staff network, we specify that the gateway, DHCP server, and DNS server are all 192.168.1.1, the router. But the guest network, tied to VLAN2, is in the subnet 192.168.2.1. From the router, you can specify that VLAN1 looks at the staff subnet and VLAN2 looks at the guest subnet, but I don't see a way to do this in the AP, it just has the place for one of each of those to be specified (per screenshot ap-ipv4.png).

  • Verizon 9100EM Router ISP Protocol Internet address not available

My Verizon 9100em router (FIOS) has been working fine with 5 wifi attached devices.  After unplugging my router for 20 seconds all my devices reconnected to the router without issue; however, none could access the internet.  I accessed my router Admin page via 192.168.1.1 and found this device status: WAN device: auto protocol detect warning (WAN device not connected); ISP Protocol Internet address not available.
I performed the router reboot procedure.  This did not establish the connection.  I unplugged the router for 60 mins, no help.  I left the router powered up for 8 hours and rechecked the cable connection from the router to the wall, but the ISP Protocol Internet address is still not available.
Are there any other steps I can perform, short of performing the factory reset?  I did not make any router configuration changes since the initial setup years ago, so I don't see why a reset would be necessary.

I want to thank you all for your helpful responses to my inquiry.  I am happy to report that my problem was resolved during an "online chat" with Verizon support.
They were able to run a line diagnostic and a line reset procedure which re-established my router connection.  The technician was unable to explain why
the router lost it's ip address and was unable to re-establish connectivity with the ISP.  I assume there was an issue with the DHCP service and it did not recognize my router.

  • Mac G5 Airport "NO internet Access" but is connected to WRT54G network

I have read thru prior threads and nothing has worked. I have connected to the internet once. I have upgraded the firmware to the wrt54. I have tried both PPPoe and DCHP to connect as well as using the built in ethernet. Why will it connect to the network but have no internet access?
The network status on my G5 says "Airport connected and You have internet access through Airport. But when I try through Safari, the screen comes up "no internet connection". Currently my wrt54 is 192.168.2.1 and I have set the security to allow access to the router. Can someone layout what my mac and router settings should be, If they are working for them? After trying somemany different things, I worry that I am not trying the right sequence of settings anymore. Help!
    Many thanks!

I have upgraded my router firmware to the latest, at least what is available here at linksys. The airport does retrieve the address from the router, but no go. Should it be set to PPPoe or not? If it isn't. it doesn't look for the host. When its off, the network status says connected to the linksys network, internet access through Airport, but still no Safari. I don't understand, if it is connected to the network, what is preventing it from connecting to the internet, which is available on the router? My DHCP server is enabled, I have changed the address to 192.168.2.1, 50 clients, but there are no DNS static address'. Should I input some DNS Address? My router is connected to a DSL modem and hardwired to a PC through the net connection. This is how I access the router. Whoops gotta get to work...........
    Thanks for your help

  • Your workout data could not be sent...an Internet connection not available

(Also posted on the nikeplus forum: http://forums.nike.com/message.jspa?messageID=238734#238734)
I am trying to sync my workout data for the first time on iTunes....so far unsuccessfully.
I have just one workout in my latest workouts folder.
When trying to sync the iPod I get the following message:
"Your workout data could not be sent to nikeplus.com because an Internet connection is not available.
Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
There is also no button labeled "Visit nikeplus.com." below the "Automatically send workout data to nikeplus.com" checkbox in the Nike + iPod tab.
I am running the latest version of iTunes (8.0.2.20) on Windows XP and the latest firmware for my 1st gen iPod Nano (1.3.1). I am using just the basic Nike+ sport kit.
There is definitely no problem with my Internet connection. I can connect to the iTunes store. I have disabled my firewall to see if that was getting in the way. Nothing changed. Still the same message.
Does anyone have a solution for this please?

I contacted Apple support at 1-800-275-2273 for technical assistance. They sent me to level 2 support - product specialist for Ipod Nano with Nike+. They have not seen this issue before and they will need to contact me back, I should have an answer back by Thursday.

  • Guests can not connect to my guest networks.

Everytime someone trys to connect to my guest network it just keeps spinning and trying to connect.  I even turned off the security.  Anyone have an idea of what i am doing wrong

You are probably not doing anything wrong......you probably do not have the correct type of modem to support the guest network feature.
Basically, the AirPorts need to connect to a simple modem......not a modem/router or gateway type of device that is often furnished to customers by Internet Service Providers.
If you can provide the make and model number of the device that you call your "modem", we can check to see if it might be compatible with the guest network feature on the AirPort router.

  • Yahoo mail Internet connection not available

Whenever I attempt to sync my iPhone 3g, I get a message that says the Yahoo! contcats could not be synched because an internet connection is not available. I have been able to connect and download my contacts once, so I have them on my phone, but I'm assuming this is so when you add a contact on your iPhone or in your Yahoo account they sync to each other. Is there a workaround for this? I know others have had this problem.

I'm having the same problem. Just moved from an original Iphone to a 3G today. I had been syncing with Yahoo contacts fine with the original Iphone but get this error message now. I do have an internet connection, ie this happens when I am syncing through Itunes over broadband internet connnection. WIFI is also up and working on the Iphone. On the new 3G I am now also using Exchange. Does the use of Exchange mean that only Outlook contacts will sync?

  • PS Elements 12 - Serial key not accepted on MacOSX, running internet access not recognized by PSE 12

Hi, I just bought a full version of PSE 12 for Mac OSX. The given serial number will not be accepted as valid, why ? - I tried it many times ! - Even the workaround trying to install the 30 days trail could not done because the internet access could not be used by PSE 12, but the internet access is running very well, otherwise I could not send you this question.
I bought this PSE 12 at Amazon, so I can give back and get back my money.
I don't want to spend any time trying to fix this.
    Michael

First go to system preferences>security & privacy>firewall>firewall options and be sure that PSE is allowed to have incoming connections:

I have just migrated two servers to new boxes. The new ones are set up
with two NIC's, one public/one private, as were the old servers. Dynamic
NAT has been set on the public NIC through "bindings" and a default route
has been set to the building router's IP. A network "route" has been set
    up
for the private side (192.168.60.0/255.255.255.0/192.168.60.1) and also for
the public side (197.24/255.255.255.248/197.26) .60.1 and .197.26 are the
server's NIC's. Each workstation has 60.1 as the gateway(router) in DHCP.
This is the way they've been set in the past, however, no one on the
private side can access the Internet. We can ping the public NIC (197.26)
but not the router (192.25) BM38SP3 has been installed on one and the
    Proxy
    has no trouble getting out.
I've gone through all the TID's I can find on routing and everything
    checks
out. Can't be filtering because it is disabled and I tried with IPFLT
unloaded. What would keep traffic from getting past the public IP when
coming from the private side except where a firewall is set up? Any ideas
    and/or suggestions would be appreciated.
Does "Set NAT Dynamic Mode to Passthru = ON" have to be set manually
    or
doesn't setting NAT on the public IP to "Dynamic" do that? As an added
question, the "Default IP Address" now in INETCFG, does it have to be set
and would it be the Public IP, or can it be left at 0.0.0.0? What, I
    guess,
    is it for?
    Thank you!
    Tim

  • Internet access only available for a few seconds before dying

I've just purchased a new iMac and I'm having problems connecting to the internet. I have a DSL modem router which is configured up and working correctly. I can plug my old PC into it and it works fine, however when I plug it in to my new iMac I have to reset it and then I get about 20 seconds access before it dies. The IP address is still assigned and everything but all traffic seems to stop. If I reset the router again, I'll get another 20 seconds access once it finishes booting. I don't think it's a router issue as I can plug a windows laptop in also and it works fine.

Those settings would appear to be correct, so the computer is getting the IP number from the router.
I tried a ping test against www.apple.com after resetting the router, and it was an unknown host . . . Yes, it gave me nothing either: 100% packet loss; but another www address was OK.
If you enter that router IP number in a browser, do you get a configuration page for the router itself? Does the router need a WEP or WAP password?
Have you also tried, (A) setting up a new Location rather than use the default, "Automatic" or (B) creating a new user account and setting up from there?
What router do you have, by the way?

  • Can I mirror MacBook pro mid-10 to apple tv with something when internet in not available

I have a apple tv 3 and a MacBook pro mid -10. all I want to do is mirror to a projector, sometimes I don't have internet. I do have an airstash but the apple tv will not connect to the network, had the same problem with a wireless hot spot. What can I use to connect to the apple tv?

You are correct about mirroring upto a point.. (ref: my previous comment from the apple support engineer..  _ I will quote directly.  The Apple  operating system will support Airplay {iincluding mirroring} if it thinks the computer can perorm the task} where the software on the apple TV is version 5.x...
However I pointed out that you can still send movies..etc. to the appletv, again assuming your appletv software is 5.x..
I wish my apple tv did not upgrade.... lesson from this..  keep version 5.x on your apple TV. never upgrade.. too painfull.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/25190502#25190502
Your post of a link is helpfull but for public consumption and an official statemnt from apple, not in reality for version 5.x on apple tv3.
but.. my comments for version 5.x will be mute if apple tv v 5.x is not used.
    Hope I helped somewhat.

  • LTE not available on LTE enabled network in Belgium (Belgacom)

I was very excited about the opening of the first public LTE network in Belgium by the carrier Belgacom.
This carrier runs LTE on 1800MHz which is supported by my european iPhone 5.
Apparently Apple blocks access or is not willing to provide a carrier settings update for us to access this LTE network?

Oh if Apple doesn't disable LTE, can you explain me why I don't see an LTE toggle on my iPhone 5?
It's verry clear to me Apple is disabling the LTE functionality on certain carriers.
If the chip would be enabled I would have no problem connection to the Belgacom LTE network (it's technically compatible, they use the 1800Mhz band).
And like I said in my previous post, they enabled it for TESLA in Denkmark (a country and carrier I can't find on Apple's LTE page http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/).

Yes, you do have to be using wi-fi.

  • Timed Access not working on Airport Extended Network

I've had an Airport Extreme wirless networking working fine except for some wifi disconnects at the far end of my house.  So I bought an Airport Express to extend the network.  I'm got the Airport Express configured and running an extended network.  Everything shows "green" in the AirPort Utility, but it required me to set the Timed Access option to "Not Enabled".  If I enable Timed Access on the Airport Extreme, the Airport Express dissapears from the AirPort Utility and starts flashing the amber light.
Is it possible to configure an extended network that continues to support the Timed Access restrictions?

    Well,
I succeeded in making it work. Yes it can work!!
Yesterday I had a brainwave. You have to put the mac adress of the airport that extends your network also in the timed access table.
    My timetable looks like this:
    default: access from 06:00 - 22:00
    Devices that have an exception:
My ipad: every day, all day
Airport Express: every day, all day
The trick is that you have to use the mac adress of your airport express of the WiFi interface. The airport has 2 mac adresses one for the wired and one for the WiFi. First I used the ethernet mac adress.
So now it works like a charm.
    Success!!!!!!!
BTW: You only have to enter the timed access rules in one airport. It propagates further to the "extenders"
