Internet access works from one jack only

I recently moved to a new apartment that has three phone jacks, the phone works fine on all three but my router will work only from the jack where the main feed comes into my apartment.
I have tried different cables, rebooting, unplugging, etc. Do I need to call for a technician?

It is possible the installation has a filter in the network box for the phone lines while the line to the jack which has the dsl service is unfiltered.

Sound works from one headphone only

Dear all,
I can hear sound from one headphone only.
I can confirm I have tried with three different headsets including the one provided by Sony.
I can also confirm the problem happens with all applications (Spotify, Walkman, SoundCloud) including the provided sounds and ringtones.
Also, the phone has not come in contact with water yet and it hasn't been dropped either (it's two weeks old).
Last time it worked, was last night when I connected it to my home stereo using a normal stereo minijack. It has stopped working since then.
I have restarted it a number of times and the problem persists.
Can you please advise?

Wireless internet access works on one Mac, but not another

I have a Time Capsule connected via Ethernet to a Linksys ADSL2 gateway.
I have set up a wireless network on the TC, which both Macs (MBP and MB) can see and log on to.
The MacBook can get an internet connection wirelessly, the MBP can't.
The MBP does get an internet connection if connected to the TC via an ethernet cable
I have the connection assistant, but it get as far as asking for my airport password before giving up - I have entered the password correctly.
Any suggestions?
The MBP is running 10.5, the MB 10.4

I have fixed the problem with a reinstall of OS X. Before that, i had tried trashing the keychain, repairing it an also deleting the wireless networks plist. No luck.
Anyway, all OK now...

How does Internet access work once I leave home?

Do I need to subscribe to a wireless broadband deal- such as BT's Openzone- in order to access the Internet on my macBook when I'm away from home ... or can I depend on dialling my ISP via a phone socket? How does Internet access work once I leave home?

BT Openzone looks a lot like T-Mobile wireless here in the States. I've got a T-Mobile account and password. When I go into a location that has TM, I open up my MacBook and look under my AirPort menu icon to select the TM network. Then I enter my account name and password and go.
Of course TM isn't everywhere, just as BT's service isn't. When I'm in a location that doesn't have it, how I connect depends on what does exist. I always travel with an ethernet cable because many hotels don't have wireless but do have ethernet connections. I've not had to resort to modem service is more than 5 years.

Welcome to the forum.
I can think of three basic ways to accomplish what you wish to do:
Use the Project Archiver to archive your Project (and check the box to gather the media files), to an external HDD. Probably the easiest way to do it.
Copy the Project and ALL media files to an external HDD, but be prepared to relink the media files to the Project, as the drive letter (part of the Absolute Path) will have changed.
Edit loosely, and Share to an AV file, which will be Imported into a New Project on that second computer. Or, edit VERY tightly, and do the same. I like the first, as removing, replacing Transitions, etc., can be much more difficult, unless that "tight edit" is 100% done.

Without providing details on exactly what you did it is hard to provide an answer. It's like me saying, "This chocolate cake I made tastes wrong," but not providing the recipe for review. Maybe it was the garlic in that particular recipe.
If iTunes is successfully using a previous library which you rename to iTunes Library.itl then that is now the current library.
Have you restarted your computer and then tried emptying the trash?

I have created a PO for a plant with IN country.
I have deleted that line. Now i am adding a new line with another plant. This plant refers to US country.
System is not allowing to save and it is giving error message as below

Can any one pls expalin why do i get this error even if i have deleted the first line. From where the country is getting refered and its throwing error inspite of deleting the first line.

Both the plants are created for the same company code.
One plant is with IN country and the other with US country.
And the company code is created with IN country and currency INR(T001)
Will this cause the error. Can you pls expalin.

Printing only works from one computer

I have an Epson Stylus C60 connected to the USB port on my Airport Extreme. There are two computers on the network, a PowerBook G4 and a MacBook Pro. Both computers connect to the network very reliably and have internet access. The problem is that the MBP cannot print to the connected printer. The G4 has always printed fine.
The MBP sees the printer as a Bonjour printer, and I can add it to the printer list without problem. When I try to print, I get a message in the print queue that there is a communications error with the printer.
In the airport configuration window, the printer is recognized and remote printing is enabled. Any idea why printing only works from the G4?

Thanks for your help. Yes, the driver is a universal binary and the printer works great when plugged directly into the computer. I just can't figure out why it won't work over the airport.
Any other ideas?

Nokia 6600 only works from one cell tower

I have this weird problem with my phone where it will only work off one cell tower. Once I leave the coverage of that cell tower it will not work anywhere else.
It started a few months ago and i'm not to sure why?
The funny thing is it's the cell tower on top of my building at work, so when i'm at work it will work (calls/txt/etc) but as soon as I go home or even go to another city it will not.
Any ideas?

The first thing I'd recommend you do is to reset your phone, but I can't tell from the 6600's webpage what OS you're running so I can't give you instructions on how to do this.
Have a look through your menus to see if you can find an option to reset to factory defaults, but please remember that doing so will wipe ALL data from your phone.
If you wish to backup your data you can do so using the PC Suite application which you can find here :

No Sound From Headphone Jack, Only Internal Speakers working in Macbook Pro A1278

Hello, the internal speakers of Macbook Pro A1278 OSX 10.7.5 are working perfectly, but no sound from headphones or external speakers when plugged in. Headphones/speakers recognized when plugged in, shown by System Preferences/Sound, and since the sound stops from internal speakers when headphones/speakers are plugged in. No red light seen coming from headphone jack, as I read in other posts. The problem began after a cable was connected between computer and stereo system. Maybe overloaded the sound card and burned out a connection? Wondering if you think that the sound card needs to be replaced or is there another solution possible? Thank you.

"No Internet Access" indicator, but internet access works

We've got a few machines at a couple different clients that have the windows networking systray exclamation mark indicating limited network connectivity. The supposed error is "no internet access", though the internet works fine in every
case. It is a very visible issue generating a lot of complaints, and the clients have a tendency to associate it with all kinds of other unrelated problems.
To clarify:
Not all machines have the icon
Problem machines all have the same basic setup as non-problem machines
Some problem machines are win8, some win7
They don't share common hardware specs
I have tried several things, including: reset ip stack, give manual ip settings to network adapter, disable ipv6, disable/re-enable adapter, all without success.
I don't know where to go to troubleshoot this. Is there a log with this info? Is the network connectivity check process well documented somewhere?

The issue occurs on ethernet and wireless. I haven't been able to tell what the problem machines have in common. The issue is basically permanent. Sometimes an IP stack reset will "cure" the problem temporarily, but it returns.

Pix501: allow all incoming smtp to one host and all smtp out from one host only

I have a pix501 and I have a mail server. What I would like to do is ensure that smtp traffic from the web only goes to my mail server and that my mail server is the only machine on my local network that can send to the internet on port 25. This is to secure the possibility of bots on my childrens PCs spamming other users. The mail server has been relay secured for selected PCs only.
To the pix501; I think the following is what I need, but would like somebody to confirm or correct me:

I thought about this some more, after seeing your response, and I was wondering; if I only want to restrict smtp outbound traffic, but allow all other traffic, would the following work, as I dont have to allow each specific port/ip address:
access-list outbound permit tcp host 192.168.1.3 any eq smtp
access-list outbound permit tcp host 192.168.1.36 any eq smtp
access-list outbound deny tcp any any eq smtp
access-list outbound permit udp any any
access-list outbound permit tcp any any
I realise that this would open all sorts of other security risks, but at least trojans/worms will not be able to spam from PCs other than those listed as per the first 2 lines ( which is my major concern at the moment). As I learn more about the traffic on my network I can block more undesirable ports.
Sorry to be a pain, but this could be useful to other and the more complete the setup, the easier it will be for them.

Can't forward PDFs, from one sender only, from BT ...

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me with this?
If I receive a PDF as an attachment to an email, into my BT yahoo webmail, from one particular sender only, and I forward it to someone else, they don't receive the PDF attachment.
This doesn't happen with PDFs from anyone else - I can forward them OK. It doesn't happen with the problem sender if they instead send to my hotmail account- then I can forward them ok.
The sender doesn't have this problem with other people.
It's like some weird problem between that sender and my BT yahoo email account.
Can anyone shed any light? I have to receive PDFs from this sender every day, and forward them on to others! I'd like to avoid having to save them and re-attach, I just want to forward them in the usual way.

A poster recently had a problem downloading PDFs. It was all PDF that he received he was having the problem with. While the problem is not quite the same as yours the fix may work for you. He simply carried out a factory reset of the Homehub by pressing a pin into the red recess button for abt 20 secs. Waited till it all reset then tried and the PDFs downloaded.

RAC needs the very same storage layer to be visible and available on each RAC node - thus this needs to be some form of shared cluster storage.
Should a piece of it fails on one node, that node would not be able to access the RAC database files on that shared storage layer - and will throw the type of errors you are seeing.
So how does this shared storage layer look like? Fibre channels (HBAs) connected to a Fibre Channel Switch and SAN - making SAN LUNs available as shared storage devices?
Typically a shared storage failure would throw errors in the kernel log. This is because the error is not an Oracle error, but a kernel error. As it is in your case. The bottom error on the error stack points to the root cause:
ORA-01157: cannot identify/lock data file 75 - see DBWR trace file
ORA-01110: data file 75: '/dev/vg_rac/rraw_tap3plus_temp_live05'
ORA-27041: unable to open file
HPUX-ia64 Error: 19: No such device
So HP-UX on that node is not seeing a specific shared storage device.
