Internet and YouTube suddenly vanish

I'm having an issue where, when using YouTube or Safari, it will suddenly go back to the main front screen of the iphone. I will not click any 'home' buttons and this will still take place.
Also, it doesn't matter if I am using the Edge or WiFi, it still happens. Also, it doesn't matter if its free Wifi, like at a cafe, or my home Wifi.
Anyone experienced this issue before? It used to not happen, but started about 2 weeks ago. Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Contacts and Calendar suddenly vanished from my new I phone and Mobile Me

I set up my new iphone and mobile me account this morning with no problems. I used the phone, contacts, and calendar with no problem for about three hours and then all of my contacts and calendar entries vanished. I have backed both up from my PowerBook. Any thought on what happened and how to prevent?

I figured out my problem. When I set up my accounts on my phone I had a .mac and a .me account and made the mistake of having sync turned on with both. When I figured out that my PowerBook was syncing with the .mac account I turned off the .me sync on my phone and everything is restored!

  • Netflix and Youtube will not play on Firefox but I can still hear sound and can pause with the space bar. Works fine on Internet Explorer.

All of a sudden last night after Firefox restarted after an update I am no longer able to play Netflix or Youtube. I can hear the sounds from whatever I select to play but the browser is black and I can even pause using the space bar but no interaction with the cursor. Both Netflix and Youtube work fine on Internet Explorer... I tried updating plug ins, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling plug ins and I even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox itself but nothing has helped. Not sure what steps to take next...

    Hello,
Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.

  • My iPad does not have sound when on the Internet, including YouTube, but does have sound with iTunes and other apps.  How can I correct this?

My iPad does not have sound when on the Internet, including YouTube, but does have sound with iTunes and other apps.  How can I correct this?

If you are sure that you have sound in other apps - and if you can still hear keyboard clicks and get notifications, then system sounds are not muted. Try this and see if it works.
Close all apps completely and reboot the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

You can reset your network settings. Go to Settings>General>reset Network Settings. Restart the iPad as described above, go to Settings>WiFi>select Your Network Name and then enter your password and see if you can connect to the internet.
You can also close open apps. Double tap the home button and your recent apps appear in the task bar. Tap and hold down on one of the app icons until they all begin to wiggle. Then tap the minus signs in the left corner of all of the apps to close them. Tap the screen outside of the task bar. Restart the iPad like I described above.

  • Complaint - Netflix and Youtube (internet option) not working on Apple TV 2 - Please advise

Netflix and Youtube (internet option) is not working on Apple TV 2 I bought - please advise how to fix this.  Please note this is not to do with signing in as the internet menu and option to sign in is not given at all on screen/within ATV2.  The only menu options which appear on screen are "computer" and "settings" and nothing else.
I have read from some other posts this may be because of the country in which I am located (currently the UAE) - this of course is not an acceptable excuse and if the real reason I hope Apple will fix this immediately.  From the box I bought the description on the reverse side of the packaging clearly states "Plays movies and TV shows from Netflix, live and archived games from MLB, NBA, and NHL, and videos from YouTube and Vimeo".
If it is a country specific/territory issue then the packaging must be changed for countries in which this does not work as this product is being missold to customers, especially as having the option to stream Netflix, YouTube and Vimeo is one of its unique selling points - without which I would not have bought it in the 1st place!
Currently very disappointed in Apple (normally a complete Apple fan!)
Any help appreciated (positive comments only thank you).

In reply to the comment "You seem to be saying that the box that you have is different in some way".  I'm actually not saying that at all as I have no idea what your box says and therefore can't comment.
And unless you're on the packaging design or distribution teams it would be a giant leap to presume every single box around the world is the same based on the product being the same.
As a marketing person I know companies of all sizes and shapes tailor their products to cater for individual markets.  E.g. coca cola cans have different designs based on distribution location and languages used in particular countries and even the product itself can differ, although this may not be the case with Apple of course.
I'm simply describing what is on my box and I don't neccessarily mean to be abrupt however I certainly wouldn't waste my time typing on this forum to say the box says something when it actually does not.
Let me know if you can postively affect the outcome of this problem/help in someway and I'll be sure to send the image.
    Thanks.

  • Internet is connected and majority of the websites work, yet sometimes the pictures are not loading? And the suddenly the hole page won't load? The weirdest thing is I go venture off to another website and it'll work just fine??

So I have been having this very annoying problem with the loading of certain internet sites e.g - Ebay, google maps, google in general & you tube.
My internet connection is fine and i have spoken with my service provider TPG and Apple about this annoying issue.
I can be generally browsing on google for instance and then suddenly the page freezes? No matter how many times i click the Refresh tab it still manages to do the same thing. Now the most confusing bit is, instead of clicking the refresh button I then venture off to Yahoo for instance and that website will work just fine??
Ugh, another (now) consistant issue is that none of my pictures are loading when im on Ebay? yet i can browse every catagory just fine....?
Please, if there is anyone out there HELP ME.... I'm a Mechanical Technician (Fitter by Trade) I do not class myself as a Computer Technician.... Far from it!!

    Thanks for the advise....
You're correct about the steps you mentioned earlier.  Tho Unfortunetely I've tried these things. Infact I was on the phone with applecare last night for about an hr & a half, yet even they seem stunned as to what is causing this?
We reset the safari in a different way as you mentioned earlier (I would not have been able to do this without some Technical assistance)
Open Finder >  click on the GO tab > Hold down the OPT key & a tab will appear that reads [Libary]
Click on Libary > Now look for a folder that reads [Safari]
Drag this folder to the desktop
Now open the folder that reads [Preferances]
    Look for files: com.apple.safari.plist & com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist
Now quit any programs operating & restart the computer.
Vwallaa Safari is officailly reset, it will even take you on a tour when you open it for the first time.
Now the catch is.... this didnt work "For me"  So My next step was to make a dummy account on my Mac (making sure that it had administrator rights) I then tried it on the dummy account. Luck would have it as it still managed to do the same thing.
Apple came to the conclusion that restoring Lion might be a possible solution. So we done just that, wasnt till this morning when i turned on this annoying Mac i realised that it is still doing the same thing.
Apple care is going to call me this afternoon so hopefully "fingers crossed" this issue can be fixed.

  • TS1398 My iPod touch 4 suddenly disconnected from internet and refuses to reconnect, I've tried all troubleshooting and even restoring. Internet router working fine for laptop, already tried restarting.

It has been working all day long, when suddenly my email told me I wasn't connected to the internet even though I had a solid connection. I tried forgetting the network and re-logging in and it didn't work. I tried restarting the router even though my laptop still has internet, and that didn't change anything. Under general setting I reset all the network information and it still didn't work. Since I had been previously experiencing problems with apps shutting down unexpectedly, I tried backing up and restoring my iPod and it still won't connect to my network.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Why is it that my iPhone 4 suddenly lost the sound bar in music and YouTube?  I am able to make phone calls, but otherwise my iPhone is silent.  It says that it is playing music, but no sound is emmitted, nor am I able to change this.

Why is it that my iPhone 4 suddenly lost the sound bar in music and YouTube?  I am able to make phone calls and hear everything just fine.  but otherwise my iPhone is silent.  It says that it is playing music, but no sound is emmitted, nor am I able to change this.

Not knowing what steps were included in "all the troubleshooting possible with Apple people," I'll suggest you give the phone a chance to reprovision your cellular account.
First turn off Wi-Fi. Then power off your phone. Hold the Sleep/Wake button until you see the power off slider. Then slide to power off. Turn the phone back on. After the phone starts watch to see if No Serive is displayed. Hopefully after 15-30 seconds that will change to the name of your cellular service provider and finally indicate LTE or 4G as well as include some dots indicating signal strength. You can then turn Wi-Fi back on.

  • My AppleTV will not play anything over Air Play.  Every other function works perfectly, and my Internet/router are working at top speed.  I can watch HD Netflix and YouTube but nothing via my iTunes library on my MacBook or iPad.  All software is updated.

Every other function works perfectly, and my Internet/router are working at top speed.  I can watch HD Netflix and YouTube but nothing via my iTunes library on my MacBook or iPad.  All software is updated.  The AppleTV will recognize that Air Play is trying to do it's thing, but with music files it sounds like they're skipping and video files just load endlessly.

I'm searching for an answer to almost the same exact problem, using almost the same exact hardware and software. Has an answer been found?
The files that I'm trying to burn come from eMusic, and they are formatted mp3. Recently, (after the iTunes update to 9.2.3?,) they would not drag and drop from iTunes into Toast. From several different discussions I've tried working around this by dragging to the desktop first then dragging and dropping to Toast, going to Toast from a programmer's homemade help window, " iToons," and today, after talking with Apple support, going directly to Toast from my eMusic folder. Alas, all recordings do not perform like they use to. Sometimes they play and sometimes not. There is one I managed, that is listenable, but sometimes I have to put it in my car stereo over and over again as it gets ejected with an error code, sometimes, finally it takes it... Some of the recordings on other disks I've burned are not clean - they have white-noise sounds creeping in... I use to have none of these problems. One time as I was listening to a CD that managed to play, and it just stopped playing... Is there an answer out there to get back to how it use to be? Thanks for you help.

  • Google and Youtube not accessible intermittently from FiOS internet

Ever since the beginning of 2015, I have the problem accessing Google and Youtube. This happens intermittently and it now happens almost everyday. While I can't access Google and Youtube, every other website works fine.
And I know it is not Google and Youtube's problem as I can access both websites from my phone cellular network.
I am on FiOS 50/50 and still using the stock router MI424WR-GEN2
Firmware version 20.21.2 ( I just upgraded it recently after I start having the problem which doesn't make any different. )
Everytime this happens, I have to release the public interface IP and power cycle the router so that it gets new public IP( the power cycle may not actually needed but I just do it) . and it will kind of solve the problem. But now that it seems to happen almost everyday, it is becoming a pain now.
Does anyone have the same problem as I do at all?
Or anyone has a permanent solution to this?
    Thanks!
    Ken.

I got a nice little workaround for ya, provided you speak English.
When you load the youtube page, click the help button. This should bring up the support page, which seems to load correctly. For me, anyways.
Then, assuming step one went as planned, in the upper right corner, you should see a small globe that has the word 'Site:' next to it. Click it, and a dropdown menu appears. From here, click the United Kingdom option, then try loading the video from the UK server.
    That's what worked for me.
    Keep me informed?

  • Cannot connect to iTunes and  YouTube

I'm using iPad4, suddenly I cannot go to App Store and YouTube! I can't even use FaceTime, Facebook! The App Store shows 'cannot connect to iTunes' , YouTube shows 'load error', FaceTime and Facebook all shows account password wrong, but I'm sure right!  What should I do!

I think you need to sort out your router or internet connection. Have you gone into your settings and checked that the wifi connection is up. or where it says 'iPad' in the top left hand corner, does it have the wifi symbol with how much signal. If all this fails ring apple, go into a apple store, or ring your broadband provider

  • Facebook and YouTube app connection

How do I reconnect the Facebook and YouTube apps to my internet, which is working fine, on my iPad air. The apps work fine on my 5c, but only recently started having network and connection issues.

    Hi, Jvc_11.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are experiencing internet issues with a couple third party applications.  I would need a little more information regarding how you are connecting to the internet and if the issue is present on other apps to provide a better answer.  However, this may be related to Wi-Fi connectivity.  I would recommend going through the steps in the article below.
