Internet audio distorts right speaker

Never had this problem before and it only happens on AOL WSOP. All other internet audio is fine as is any other computer audio like iTunes and so forth.
I do not have this issue with my laptop or my other macs, just the iMac G5.
It is truly odd.
I have to pan the audio to the left and I can hear it correctly.

Apple put the microphone inside the speaker, to handle 'feedback issues' they just cut the output.
Not all software handles the challenge is such an inelegant way though ...

  • No audio from Right Speaker.

    Hi,
There is no audio output from Right Laptop Speaker. But there is audio from Left audio speaker. If i connect external speakers ,there is audio from both speakers, same is the case with headphones.
Please help me to resolve this issue?.My laptop is under 1 year on-site warranty.

So funny! Last year I got the new Iphone 4S upgraded from a 3S. I also thought the speaker was broke on the left hand side. I put it down to old age, but when it happened again on the brand new 4S I went back to the Phone Shop running my mouth how I wanted it changed Right Now!! I was like its happening again and this time the phone is brand new bla bla bla. The guy just laughed and said mate that is a Mic not a Speaker! I just wanted to die hahaha. Walk of shame!!!!

  • Static crackling noise, Right speaker when audio is being played

I recently purchased this Satellite C50D-A Windows 8 Laptop. I have had it for less than 3 months. Recently the right speaker has started acting up with some sort of high pitched static crackling noise whenever audio is played regardless of it being in a web browser or any other media. Even computer sounds are distorted from this. I typically use this computer for school and play music to study. How the hell can I fix this so I can actually listen to audio without this rather irritating issue?

I tried that and it didnt seem to do much of anything.
I played part of a song on spotify and recorded it to perhaps give you an example of what it sounds like?
I covered the left speaker so most of what you hear is the right speaker alone. The distortion is pretty clear when audio comes out of that speaker.

  • HP DV7T Quad: Audio is louder from right speaker then left speaker!

I've seen this issue posted on other sites like notebookreview, notebookforums etc but there doesn't seem to be any fix for it...which makes no sense to me.  The right speaker in my notebook is louder then the left one is.  The only way to compensate for the problem is to lower the "balance" in the sound properties for the right speaker (I have it all the way down to 70 if you can believe that!)  Now my audio sounds even between the left and right speaker.  I think it's ashame that seems to be the only fix for the problem.  Not sure if this is a driver issue or a hardware issue.
NVidia installs audio drivers to the computer when installing the video drivers (which I still don't understand why...I thought NVidia was a graphics company?)  Then I install the IDT drivers/software afterwards.  HP has verified that this is correct so everything on my end is up to date...minus of course offical drivers for the 320M video card that everyone is still waiting on!
    Any solutions to this?

    Thanks for the info

  • Mac Mini Audio out only sending to right speaker

I am running a Mac Mini OS X 10.6.4 as media center.  I am running video directly to my TV, which works fine.  I am running the audio from the Mac Mini out the headphone output through a Y audio Left / Right cable to a sub woofer. The issue I am having is that the audio is only coming out the right side?
When I hook up a pair of headphones I get sound out of both sides, but when I switch it back to the Sony Soundbar it is segemented to the one side.
    Any suggestions?

If the output works fine with a set of headphones and not the Sony soundbar, that suggests the cable feeding the soundbar or the soundbar have issues. Have you reversed the cable channels at the soundbar to verify that the soundbar is working correctly? If the working speaker switched sides, then get a new cable.

  • Audio out jack only plays sound in the right speaker.

Whenever I plug anything (speakers, earphones, etc.) into the Audio Output jack, it only plays sound through the right speaker/earphone. The left speaker/earphone hardly has any sound at all.
How should I go about fixing this problem?
It ***** and it's annoying. At first, I thought it was just my earphones but they work perfectly fine with my iPod and other devices.

    HI Chris,
my daughter has the ipod touch 4th generation and it started only having sound come out of the right speakers in both of my vehicles.  I read also it could be a broken socket causing it.  Do you know about this?  How does one break a socket and how would I repair that?  The person on y*hoo answers said to either send it to apple refurbished unit or replace it.  Replace it?  Really?  It's a 64 GB ipod touch that I won at work with reward points which is the only reason I could afford it.  Looking for better solution like your's above but I'm worried I will have to send it in.  I was looking on my iphone 4 and noticed the volume balance was under Settings>General>Accessibility so I guess it's different on an ipod touch?

  • IChat Audio out of right speaker only

Not sure what is going on but iChat only sends chat audio only to the right speaker on my MacBook Pro. When in iChat I can launch other programs with sound and it comes out both speakers. My output in preferences is set to the middle also so it should come out both speakers right?

    Hi
Thats normal in iChat as the mic is close to the left hand speaker, its so you dont get feedback going on.

  • How to adjust audio balance (left or right speaker) in Logic 9?

    Hi,
I am playing a midi file with several instruments in Logic. Some of the instruments seem to output from the left speaker only, while others are from the right speaker only.
In each instrument there is a small circular graphic with a number (its either -50 or +50 depending on the instrument). It seems that changing this value adjusts the balance:
ie. -50 = left speaker only
         +50 = right speaker only
         0 = Both speakers equally.
After I change the values to 0, the audio plays through both speakers (this is what I want). But the moment I rewind the midi file, all instruments go back to their previous values of -50 or + 50. How do I make sure that the settings remain the way I want, and don't go back to what they were when I rewind?
    Thanks.

    Hi
It seems likely that the Regions created from the MIDI file have embeded Pan (CC10) and likely Volume (CC7) messages. Open each and every region in the Event list, and delete all CC10 (& CC7) events.

  • Burning more than one copy wont burn right speaker audio?

    hey guys
    im about to throw up
i jus spent hours on end working on making multiple dvds...i just burned FORTY! i made a cover case printed out in high def for each one, and a dvd disc cover lable print out
after making 40 dvds i get a call from one of my friends saying how in a whole submenu full of 10 videos, the backround music wasnt playing!!
my first dvd i burned i did test out...it did have the backround music...i just clicked done after my project, and viewed in idvd the project...it had the backround audio
for all of the videos in that submenu...all the backround audio played in the right speaker
after my first dvd (which worked) it asked if i want to burn another
i put another disc in and kept goin thru that process
i didnt know that the other 39 didnt give out any backround music
its wierd because on my tv, i hear them talking in both speakers, (with no audio)
and on the computer talking on just the left and music ont he right
well i just wasted a whole bunch of cash and time
i really didnt expect that to happen. i want to save image to disc but i dont have space for that...the only thing filling up my hardrive is footage...
**lets say i delete capture scratch...will that make my exported quicktime .mov file become OFFLINE and unable to use??**
what should i do? please help im now leaving in less than 24 hours and buggin out!

Sorry you have run into such a problem
This is exactly why all of us recommended that you do a 'Save as disk image' BEFORE burning to disk. It is exactly the same process, takes up the same amount of space and will allow you to identify potential problems before you waste disks. Once the disk image is created, you can play it back on your computer to be sure everything is ok. Then, when you actually burn the disk, using DIsk Utility, it takes only a fraction of the time because all the encoding is already done.
See Len Goff's explanation here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=914789&tstart=0
At this point, you can still do the save as disk image from your iDVD project. It will probably take as long as the first burn. Open iDVD and go to the menu bar at the top of your screen. Under 'Advanced' select 'Delete Encoded assets' to clear your project of the prior encoding.
Now go to File/Save as Disk image and let the image be created to your desktop. Go to sleep. Hopefully it will be ok and play back fine. (You use DVD Player for this). Once you are sure that the disk image is ok, you can then do the burn from Disk Utility. Set the burn speed to 1x, 2x, or 4x. Don't go faster than that. Be sure to use a good brand of disk, like Verbatim DVD-R.
Since you are so short on time, if the disk image is ok, burn some of your disks, and keep the disk image on your computer for burning more later.

  • Only right speaker working when doing audio on iChat...!

    Hello,
I just got the new MacBook Pro and when I use the audio features of iChat the audio of the person I am talking to only comes out of the right-hand side speaker! Other sounds come out of the right and left, such as message alerts, and my speakers otherwise are working fine. Only when I engage someone in an audio chat does the sound from their end come out only on my right speaker...
    Any ideas anyone?!
    Chris M.

    Hi CM!
That is normal when video conferencing with the Macbook pro. The microphone is located on the left hand side, and to reduce feedback the left speaker is muted when conducting a video chat.

  • New Right Speaker Distortion Test

    Try this:
    1) Make sure Funk is set in your Sound Preference as your alert sound.
    2) Go back into Safari
    3) Hit Command-F
    4) Type something in that is NOT on the page. Like "asdfghjkl"
    5) Hit NEXT
Some or all of you will note a SERIOUS distortion. Even stranger, if you do it twice in a row, the first alert will be quiet (but distorted) and the second will be loud and distorted. If you keep hitting NEXT, it will keep staying loud. Then, if you pause for a few seconds, and try the double tap again, you get the quiet-loud pattern.
    Can others confirm?

To test whether or not you have the right speaker issue, please download this sound file:
    http://www.newyork-stories.com/mbp/RightSpeakerTest.m4a
This sound was created by an Apple Genius in the SoHo Store. To use it, open the file and in ITunes switch to endless loop. Then in sound settings pan left and right. In the case you have the right speaker issue you will hear a significant difference between left and right. The right speaker will sound hopelessly distorted and overdriven, whereas the left speaker will play the sound as it's supposed to be.
Also, go to apple.com and play one of the Apple commercials. Play the one with the Pie Charts, I believe it's called "Work vs. Home". Again, pan from left to right. If the right speaker is distorted you will hear that the voice of the "Mac" guy is overdriven and the music will sound awful.
Everyone who doesn't hear a difference between left and right doesn't have the problem. Also, if you are able to get rid of the distortion by putting the volume down a little, you also don't have the problem.
The right speaker issue is VERY obvious and a major pain in the ... for everything that includes low frequency voices or music with lots of bass

  • Audio only playing out of Right Speaker when using 30pin-Lightning Adapter?

    Hi There-
I have a Mini Cooper and often use its provided cable (connects via USB and Aux cord into 30pin for older gen iPhones/iPods, etc) to play music. However, with the purchase of my new iPhone 5 I bought the 30pin to Lightning adapter, and when I plug in my phone sound ONLY seems to be coming out of the Right speaker. Take off the adapter to use an older iPhone and both speakers play music. I don't know where the problem lies, I purchased both the phone and the adapter straight from the apple store...
    Thanks for any help!
    L

Since the cable works with your old iPhone, it's in the phone or the adapter.  Take both to the Apple store, I'm sure they have some sort of dock they can plug it into to reproduce the issue - then they can try a different adapter with your phone, and a different phone with your adapter, to see where the problem is.

  • Audio distortion in earpiece.

I'm getting a very light audio distortion in the earpiece during calls.  It is not so distorted that I cannot hear the other person, but it is noticeable enough that everyone who uses my phone turns to me and asks "what's wrong with your phone?"  It is really noticeable when I switch to my other phone right after using my Lumia and the other phone is crystal clear.
The distortion is hard to describe, but it sounds like amplifier clipping or a blown speaker - or an odd mix of a buzz and hiss during certain sounds made by the person I'm speaking with.
I have a Lumia 1020 that was purchased on July 27, so it is still under warranty.  I'm changing carriers, so I cannot bring it to them for repair or exchange.
Should I try a hard reset or send it back to Nokia for repair?  Or, any other suggestions?

    Hello,
I am also suddenly experiencing sound distortion through my loud speaker during calls and loud speaker during playback of music. This is very strange as I have not even had my Nokia Lumia 1020 for a week and this has happened. Can someone please tell me how to get this repaird please????

  • 17 inch Unibody 2.8 Summer 2009 - exhibits rattle in right speaker?

I've read everywhere on this. Basically, I just purchased a Unibody 17 at Oakbrook, IL apple - and it exhibits a rattle when the volume is up above 60 or 70% when playing certain audio tracks. For example, a movie in iphoto or certain songs. It almost appears as if the frequencies are set really high and the subwoofer in the unibody vibrates to the point of distortion.
It's pretty annoying and from what I've read, it appears every computer exhibits this to a certain extent. Should I go through the hassle of replacement or should I just live with it?
    What about you guys?

I have a Late 2008 Unibody 15" MacBook Pro with the exact same problem as you. I sent mine in on 6/4 for this problem, a bad DVD drive, fan/heat issues and I still haven't gotten it back after nearly 10 days. It's been terrible, hours on hold, many phone calls, no call-backs, mysterious phone line disconnects, you name it. I've been horribly unlucky.
For your audio problem, you can go to the link below and play back either the 250, 440 or 1000 KHz tones. On my computer the 440Khz tone generates the vibration. Funny thing is that Apple is telling me that my speakers are within spec but they don't mention where those specs are or how they measured mine. A friend of mine just bought a new 2009 MBP 15" and it does not have this problem, all tones play flawlessly with no vibration from the right speaker. Due to my experience, I don't recommend that you send it in to Apple. You are within the return period. Take your computer to an Apple store and play the test tones on a computer just like yours and if it plays cleanly, demand an exchange... avoid sending in your computer, I sure as heck will from now on... So much for paying extra for Apple "Care"...

  • Third party software instrument not outputting to right speaker?

Hi there. I know that third party support is not something I can expect to get much of here, but I figured I'd see if anyone had any suggestions anyway. I'm new to GarageBand, and am using the '8 bit' plugin from a Japanese band called YMCK (http://www.ymck.net/english/download/index.html). The plugin does seem a little buggy or incompatible with my system/GarageBand because I often get no sound and have to restart GarageBand, or (and I warn you if you try it) occasionally I'll get a loud, annoying tone until I restart the app as well.
Normally, however, it does what it's supposed to except for the fact that I am not getting any audio output from the right speaker for software instruments using this plugin, regardless of the panning I'm using. This is just kind of strange and I'm wondering if maybe there's something I'm missing, or perhaps someone else has used this plugin before (or would be willing to try it). Thanks in advance for any feedback.
