Internet connected but won't load, have to turn wi-fi on and off every 3 or so minutes

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro. My wi-fi is great, but I have a problem with connecting using my computer. I can connect to the wi-fi network in a second, and the internet will work fine for let's say 3-5 minutes. Then everything just stops loading. I have to turn off wi-fi, turn it back on, and re-connect to the network just for pages to load again.
This does not happen with my phone.
What can I do to fix this?

• When I try to open my iTunes on my iPhone 4S it shuts off right away. Ho do I fix this? I have already turned my phone on and off a bunch of times

Every time I try to open my iTunes app on my iphone 4 s it opens but then shuts down right away. I have already turned my phone on and off and did the reset thing by pushing the home and sleep button together and I hooked up my phone to my computers to update and none of these have worked. What works? Does anyone know? Thanks

Hi
I've got a similar problem. iTunes v10.2 worked fine, but when I tried to update it to 10.5 I got a 'Bonjour' error. I eventually solved that but I still couldn't upgrade to 10.5, so I deleted every single Apple, Quicktime, iTunes, etc file on my PC using Revo Unistaller (because the normal Windows Add/Delete programs wouldn't work) but now, when I install the latest iTunes version from scratch (on XP SP3), it says: "the installer encountered errors before it could be configured.... your system has not been modified"
Any ideas?

• Have Wifi connection but won't load

My Iphone 3g indicates wifi connection after finding and connecting to my office router but won't load Itunes, App store or Safari pages, it will however connect via 3G. The phone is using Orange as the carrier and the phone was previously on the o2 network but was unlocked by o2 prior to putting in an Orange sim.
I have an identical Iphone (for business use) which connects fine, this is running on an O2 network but is otherwise identical.
Any suggestions are really appreciated.
Many thanks.

If you are running Lion 10.7.2 please try Lion WiFi problems fix, if you have trouble understanding it then watch the WiFi Lion Fix on YouTube . Your issue also could be with your router, it may be using a older firmware version. You will need to refer to the router mfg for instruction on how to update the router.

• MacBook Pro wifi connected but won't load Internet

I've connected my MacBook Pro to my local wifi connection and it tells me that it is connected, but I can't run anything on it that needs an Internet connection (eg. Google Chrome, Skype etc.)
I've ran the 'Assist Me' checks in the Network Preferences and results have found the wifi connection to be positive..
I am so confused by this!! Somebody please help?!

First contact your ISP. You need to confirm that the issue is not on their end.
Change your router channel. Sometimes this is all you will have to do.
Power cycling the router. Read the router's user manual or contact their tech support for instructions.
System Preferences/Internet & Network/Network
Unlock the padlock
Locations: Automatic
Highlight Airport
Click the Assist Me button
In the popup window click the Diagnostic button.
System Preferences/Network- Unlock padlock. Highlight Airport. Network Name-select your name. Click on the Advanced button. Airport/Preferred Networks-delete all that is not your network.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined." Click the OK button and lock the padlock. Restart your computer.

Check to see if an extra entry is present in the DNS Tab for your wireless connection (System Preferences/Network/Airport/Advanced/DNS).
Delete all extra entries that you find.
Place a check mark next to "Remember networks this computer has joined."

• Internet connected but unable to load web pages

Hi - My computer is an Imac, late 2006 model. For some reason I seem to be having problems connecting to the internet using the Airport connection. Using the Ethernet cable everything is fine no problems whatsoever, but wireless connection just doesn't happen. I have run through all the relevant diagnostics and checked the wireless router modem settings. My wife recently bought a MacBook - it connects wirelessly without a hitch. I even changed the iMac setting to exactly the same as the MacBook, but still nothing. I get the green lights in the Network Diagnostics screen, but when I try to load a page in Safari I just get an error message " Not connected to the Internet, or Server failed to respond".
My broadband ISP is Virgin Media (not a cable connection - it's ADSL) and the wireless router modem is a Netgear DG834GSP v3.
Any ideas anyone as am getting really frustrated at not being able to connect wirelessly.
Thanks in advance.

Hi I have been having exactly the same problem for the last couple of weeks, and can't explain what is happening either. The Mac seems to be connected to the Internet with all of the status 'lights' in Network diagnostics green. I am picking up an IP address but can't load any Web pages. Very puzzling !

• Wifi connected but won't load

My ipod touch is connected to my mac via airport:
- my mac is loading pages ok, and displays the arrow up airport icon (sharing)
- no WEP,
- i can see my assigned DHCP and subnet numbers in ipod wifi settings
- i get the blue signal icon in top left hand corner
It would be reasonable to assume at this point my ipod is connected,
BUT every app on the ipod says "Cannot Open xxx, because it is not connected..."
Haven't found an answer to this anywhere, it was working up unitl recently, tried resetting network on the ipod.
Can someone from Apple please respond???

Welcome to Apple Discussions
This is a discussion board of fellow users and not Apple employees. If you feel you need Apple Support then you can either call them or visit an Apple store and speak with a Genius.
Let's review what you have going on.
1. You are running an Airport Base. - You are broadcasting in b/g/n modes, correct?
2. You have no encryption set up. - You should really set up WPA to protect yourself.
3. When your touch is connected to the network and you tap the little blue > next to your network name you see what? Is your IP address 192.168.x.x; subnet mask 255.255.255.0; Router IP address 192.168.x.x; DNS is the same as your router address?
4. If all of the above are good, then try typing this address into the touch version of Safari: http://74.125.45.100. You should land on the homepage of Google. If not, you need to figure out what is going on with your ISP's DNS service. You may want to set your router to use the DNS addresses of OpenDNS (www.opendns.com).
Good luck and respond with what you find.

• Web UI connects but won't load

All, Suddenly, I am able to conenct to my WD MyCloud via the Desktop app, but when attempting to connect to the Web UI it won't load. Details:Connect to IP of drive via Chrome/Safari/Android Chrome/IE (tested with 4 browsers on two devices)It redirects to HTTP://"IP"/UIPage animates to say "Accessing WD MyCloud" and then "Attempting to Authenticate"The page then goes gray (other than the black bar on top with WD MyCloud logo). Nothing else - leave it for hours, it never loads.Any thoughts? Any support is greatly appreciated. Thank you,Jason

Additional notes:Tried power cycling (left off for an hour), no luck.Tried holding reset button for 4 seconds (heard it reboot), no luck.Light on front is steady Blue.Shares are accessible from Desktop app.I would try using the desktop app to apply a new firmware, but it tells me an admin must login to apply firmware...but I don't see a way to change the login ID used within the Desktop app.Not accessible from SSH/FTP/SMB.

• After 2.0 update, WiFi still connects, but won't load pages or any internet

So I had just used the IPod touch to hit some web pages, look at weather, stocks, youtube etc... an hour later....
installed the 2.0 update with the New York Times app, now I still connect to my access point, renewing IPs still work, It IS connected to the AP, but Internet based apps time out.
Example error: Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding.
I have rebooted, restarted, restored, and all the other things I've seen mentioned, but still can't get internet traffic. At one point I even tried connecting to the AP management, was prompted for ID and password, but then blank page.
any help appreciated

Exactly the same here. Just noticed this in my local coffee shop (Neros) where I used to be able to log on to BT Openzone. Now, since updating to 2.0 version, I get the same error message as you i.e. I can find and attach to the WiFi host but cannot get any further than "Safari can't open the page because it is not connected to the internet" Tried re-booting to no avail. My WiFi works just fine at home, though. Really annoying. Any ideas ?

• Orange USB Modem with "Mobile Partner" connects but won't load pages

All,
I talked Orange Telecom into giving me a free trial with one of their USB modems. I plugged the modem into my MB Pro, installed the "Mobile Partner" software and configured the connection settings as specified by the Tech. I am able to connect fine using the device, however, it will not allow me to receive data, so I am unable to load web pages. The connection says that I am sending data, but not receiving anything. Any ideas on what I need to do in order to successfully receive data?
Current Settings are as follows:
Connection: Orange
APN: orange.ug
Phone Number: *99#
user: orange
password: orange
with these settings I am able to connect fine, but no data is received. I am guessing this has something to do with a setting in Network Preferences, but I can't figure out why it's not working. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Sig - thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I was sitting with the Tech rep when we configured the settings, so we are both sure the phone number was right. Additionally, I am connecting and I can see that information is being "sent," however the problem is that no information is being "received" so I am unable to load web pages, etc.
It must be some sort of problem with the network settings in Mac OS because there does not appear to be any problem connecting to the service, the problem has been receiving information. Any other suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
JB

• Sometimes I cannot get my apple tv to work after being in sleep mode. I then have to turn the power on and off to make it work. Note the white light will come one when I try and wake it up. But, the light will not blink.

Most of the time when I wake up my apple tv, the white light will come on, but will not blink when I have this problem. I then have to pull the plug and then put the plug back in the socket, then it will work.

• Trying to connect to a known internet connection but i keep getting the response "unable to join network"

Trying to connect to a known internet connection but I keep getting the response "Unable to join network" and the internet is connected, please help.

Okay now this description was pretty vague but it could be a few things. First thing to try. Turn wifi off and then one again and try to connect. If this fails read on.
The second step is to select that network in the wifi settings so you get an expanded menu of it. Follow these steps from the home menu on your ipad... SETTINGS>Wi-FI>NETWORK NAME (you have to click the little blue arrow)> FORGET THIS NETWORK. Then turn wifi off and then on. Then try to connect again. If this fails... well read on,
Okay, so now you really know it's most likely not your ipad, so go on down to your wifi router and turn it off, wait ten seconds, turn it on again. WITH YOUR IPAD OFF. Then turn on your ipad on and then try to connect again. If this fails... Then you'll have to do some more complex things. You could try setting up the network again. IF that fails too. Leave some details about your router, brand, year etc... And I'll try to let you know what else it could be.

• TS1702 Can anyone help? For no reason, I cannot open any of my apps. I can open everything else, just not apps. I have turned the ipad on and off several times, this doesn't work. Does anyone know what to do and why this has happened?

Hello, for some strange reason I cannot open any of the apps I have. I have tried turning the ipad on and off and this doesn't work. I can open everything else (videos, camera, etc) just no apps. Can anyone help please?

If it's the apps that you've downloaded from the App Store, but not the Apple built-in ones, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.
If it's all apps including Apple's then try closing them all completely and then see if they work when you re-open them : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
