Internet connection issue with Iphone 3G

Hi there,
I have this Iphone for more than 2 years now and I've been using it in France, USA and Australia without problem. Since i'm in England, the internet doesn't want to work anymore. Even at home, with the proper internet key (as it works with my laptop), the iphone says that it's impossible to join the stuff. I've tried to reset the connection settings as i saw on a forum that it could be the solution, but it's still not working.
Can you please help me?

You don't give a lot of detail on your WiFi network but here are some thoughts:
You mention "internet key". There is no internet key to connect to WiFi. There is a password to connect to your router but this has nothing to do with the internet. Are you sure that you are using the correct password?
Is WEP security being used? If so, how many characters are in the password? If WEP-40 is used the length should be 5 characters, if WEP-128 is used the length should be 13 characters. If a different length password is used then the password is hashed using an algorithm which differs between Operating Systems. This could be causing problems.
Remember also that upper/lower case is significant in passwords, e.g. aBc is not the same as abC.
If you have a password consisting just of the digits 0-9 and letters a, b, c, d, e, f then this is a hexadecimal password and should be prefixed with a $ sign when entered.
See these links for more information:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1344
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1126
If you are using WEP you should be aware that it has been deprecated by the WiFi Alliance since 2004 as insecure (it can be hacked in seconds).
If none of this applies please give some information on your network, i.e., router make, model and version, security type being used (WEP. WPA, WPA2), MAC filtering enabled, etc.
Good luck.

  • Windows 7 Update Internet Connection Issue with Router

I updated two of four toshiba laptops with Windows 7 and installed Toshiba's wireless adapter driver for Windows 7. The adapter connects to the router and I can access all resources on my home network, however, Internet service is not available on the two laptops with the Windows 7 update. After disconnecting and reconnecting 7-10 times, the Internet Service connection does not drop. The other two laptops and two desktops that are not running Windows 7 do not have this problem. Is there any known issues with lynksys wireless routers and Windows 7?

When your Windows 7 machine is having problems, can it ping the following IP addresses:
    127.0.0.1 (local loopback)
192.168.1.x - the DHCP IP address it was issued by the router
    192.168.1.254 - your router
8.8.8.8 - Google DNS out on the internet

  • Anyone noted Bluetooth connection issues with iPhone 4s and Ford sync?

My wifes iPhone 4 with IOS 5.0.1 auto connects to Ford Sync at least 75% of the time on first attempt. My new iPhone 4S with IOS 5.0.1 takes 4-5 attempts and rarely if ever connects without multiple attempts. Any one else seeing issues with failed Bluetooth connections with iPhone 4S phones?

Look at the right panel for links to other threads concerning problems with Fords. And it's not just Fords, cars in general.  No solutions seem to be given.

  • Internet connectivity issues with SA 520W router

    Hi,
We have configured Cisco Small Business Pro (SA 520W) in a small office and all computers are connected with wifi. We are facing following problems:
    1. Computer is connected with network and 100% signals available but there is no internet. After repairing network from computer or sometimes rebooting computer fix the this problem. What cause internet connectivity problem?
    2. Sometimes computer is connected with internet and everything work fine but suddenly there is no internet. May be internet come back again after 2 minutes etc. Strange behavior.
    3. Sometime there is no internet connection even after trying all possible tuneing but internet connection become alive again if we reboot router.
All these problems appear randomly on different computers. Can anyone tell what's the reason of all these problems and how can fix it?
    Thanks.

I have the just similar problem since few days , for long time I have no issues with wireless router
I have five static IP addresses I am using 1 static IP for the Router and other for the internal use
I though it was my inter provider technical issue,
The internet is working through provider gateway router but not through a Cisco SA520W
some times it works some time it wont resolve host name, internal LAN works perfect ,but internet drops packets and it is very slow
If  we dynamically setup the router, it  works but not for the static IP address
my old configuration is not saved , reset to factory defaults even then it did not work
I do have 24 port cisco switch when I login there is no gui console just blank blue screen with text boxes
    I appreciate some can guide.
I believe we need the update firmware on both devices .I appreciate for the help
    Thanks

  • Connectivity issue with iPhone 3GS and Time capsule 7.6.1

I've upgraded the firmware of my Time Capsule. Now i have WiFi connectivity problems with my iPhone 3GS. My iMac and two iPads (version 1 & 2) are doing fine.
Very strange in this situation is when I at a rare moments are able to connect my iphone to the wifi my iPad2 connection falls out. But after a minute or 2 the system disconnects my iphone and reconnect my ipad.
For info: I'm using an iMac 27" 3.4 Intel Core i7 with Mac OS 10.7.3 - all software is updated.
    Thanks for reaction
    Stephan

The iphone is very sensitive to channel selection..
Open the airport utility manual settings.. Go to the wireless.. change its name to something simple without spaces.. TC24 would do nicely.
Set the wireless to b/g a/n so it works with everything .. not auto.
And set the channels manually.. 2.4ghz (which iphone uses) set channel to either 1, 6, 11.. these are the only channels that do not overlap..
Try and see if the iphone connects..
Set security.. WPA2 personal and put in a suitable key.. pure alphanumeric no spaces.

  • Car Bluetooth Connectivity Issue with iPhone 6

Just got the iPhone 6 on Friday -- very exciting! But I can't get the phone to connect to my Mini Countryman's bluetooth. The phone will detect the car's bluetooth signal, and says it's connected, but calls aren't audible via the car stereo system, but rather the phone itself. And if I don't turn the bluetooth off, my car thinks I'm on a call and the radio won't work.
It's frustrating because this feature use to work with my 5s. A friend of mine is having the same issue in his car. And I've seen others complain about this -- seems like an Apple issue. Not sure though.

I did what ever everyone suggested, reset all setting, reset network setting, deleting from car memory.   It's works fine after you reset it and reconnect to the car with fresh new connection at first, but after I power the phone off and turn it back on, boom the problem comes back.  It's got to be a IOS 8 issue.  I did this 3 times and I am getting sick and tired of it so I am going to restore and set up as a new iPhone from Itune and wait and see how Apple is going to fix this issue.
I have 3 cars and the Bluetooth is having the same issue on all of them, work first then no more even with the suggest tricks.  I hate my iPhone 6 now.

  • I have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on my MacBook. Constantly dropping internet connection or message "error connecting to the network" comes up. No wireless connectivity issues with windows 7 laptop or iphone.

I have a MacBook with Snow Leopard 10.6.8. The last few weeks it has been constantly dropping internet connection, and one of these messages appear on the page: "Safari cannot open this page because the server where this page is located isn't responding" or "Safari cannot open this page because you are not connected to the internet" comes up. I will check Wifi and I am connected. No wifi connectivity issues with iphone or windows 7 laptop, this doesn't happen with either of those devices. I have unplugged and reset router, cleared cache, still happening. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  • I am having issue with iphone 5 bluetooth , not able to connect honda CRV

I am having issue with iphone 5 bluetooth , not able to connect to my honda CRV

Don't know if you could consider this an Apple issue. I know you are probably frustrated, and I am not defending Apple here, just saying that the iPhone does not update to support individual automobiles, the automobile manufactures update to support the Bluetooth profiles. The iPhone has the latest Bluetooth stack and supports a number of things. Problems generally revolve around the manufacturer not supporting the lastest Bluetooth version and have to update their systems. Check with Honda, they are probably aware of this, and if you search the forum, you will find a number of posts regarding the CR-V.

  • TS1317 Internet Connectivity Issue - specifically with the DNS settings

    Hi there,
I'm wondering if someone can help me resolve an internet connectivity issue on my MacBook Pro.
It appears to be a problem specifically with the DNS settings. I am connected to the internet but can only reach a website by typing in the IP address, not the domain name. The error messahe says: "Unable to resolve server's DNS address."
Regardless of whether I use Wifi, 3G modem or cable, i get the same error.
Operating System is Mac OSX Version 10.6.7
    Please help!
    Thanks

It sounds like your MacBook Pro has either incorrect or missing DNS IP address information in it network profile. Let's start with your wireless connection. You would find these in System Preferences > Network > Wi-Fi > Advanced > DNS tab
If your main Internet router is performing as the DHCP server, it would provide the DNS IP addresses (typically from your ISP) on this tab. You may have two or more addresses listed. If they are grayed, that means that the addresses are coming from the DHCP server.
In the following example screen shot, I am using DNS servers provided by OpenDNS. Notice that they are grayed as they are being provided by my main Internet router. Again, these should be either ones provided by your ISP or ones you purposely set up, like my OpenDNS ones.

  • I was trying to pair my notebook with iphone3gs and i had problems with my internet connectivity,so the iphone gave an error message that should it ignore my pc, not thinking clearly i clicked ok.since then i couldnt pair my iphone with mypc via bluetooth

Trying to pair my phone with my pc via bluetooth , had internet connection error .my iphone asked to forget about my pc and i clicked yes thinking i can redo the connection later but ever since, my iphone as refused to discover my pc .i have tried every thing i know but to no avail . can you pls help
    thanks

Edge has very clear restrictions, one being that you must have 6 months of clean payment history which you don't. Either wait until April 14, or good luck at Sprint.
I am unsure how it can be determined the payment mix up was the fault of CS, but regardless, the mix up was done. There can be any number of reasons why a payment could be missed without any fault on your part, however you are still the responsible party for the account and must live with the repercussions.

  • 4S Verizon Network / Internet Connectivity Issues?

I have been having problems with what appears to be Verizon Network/Internet Connectivity issues. I am located in northern Colorado, using an iPhone 4S with a Mophie Air battery backup/case.
I am in a solid 4G area (even though the phone is 3G) and I have not had any problems with any connection issues, until last night. I still see three bars of 3G service on the phone indicator area...so it is decieving.
I can still recieve emails, text messages, and phone calls, but nothing that uses the internet will work.  All apps seem to try to open and try to update, but the whizzy-wheel indicator just sits and spins until I get a "Network Error" message or a time out error of some kind. Most error pop-ups are saying to check the internet settings and try again. Ugh!
Also, since it seems to be trying to recognize the network all the time (even when all tasks are killed and nothing should be running), my battery is going down MUCH faster today! I took it off of the charger at 7am and it was down to 20% battery in only 4 hours! Then I turned on the battery backup, and it is quickly using that up too! At this rate my phone will be completely DEAD by the time I leave work today, and I haven't even used it for anything all day (except to try to connect to the web a few times - testing)!
I have tried the following so far to try to regain internet through the Verizon network, to no avail:
checked for software updates...phone was up to date with iOS 6.0.1
checked my firmware version (it is 3.0.04)
killed all background/running apps (with the home button double-click/hold icon/end)
"reset" my phone via a couple of methods (both the regular power off option and the force-power off option).
*228, option 2 (to reset Roaming)
    cleared all data cache areas/cookies/etc.
    Cellular data is set to "On"; Roaming is set to "On" for all options;
I have a 64GB device (57.3 usable capacity) of which I still show 46.2 available.
WiFi is set to "Off" (although I can use WiFi at home with no problem if I need to, but I shouldn't have to!)
Airplane Mode is set to "Off"; Restrictions are set to "Off"; Bluetooth is set to "Off"
Basically, there is NO REASON my phone should be having connection issues!
    PLEASE HELP?!!

I tried everything you did and more, i thought i had it working, but i got a voicemail today and when i went to open it earlier it just has the wheel loading forever and then says it cant onnect to voicemail. the searching does make it wear down the battery faster as well.  i can get calls, texts etc, but i cant help but think there are a few bugs with the ios 6.01 software

  • Why do I keep losing internet connection on my iPhone 4

This happens quite often. I will lose Internet connection and can't use any of my apps, but the 3G sign is still showing. There are no obvious indicators suggesting that I have lost Internet connection until I try to go on an app. I've tried turning my phone on and off and turning flight mode on and off, but it still continues.

    Hello Nattynoonnooz,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are having cellular data connection issues with your iPhone 4. I imagine the issues do not persist if you connect to a Wi-Fi network? The following troubleshooting assistant may help to resolve this issue:
Apple - Support - iPhone - Calls Troubleshooting Assistant
    http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/calls/#section_1
For more in-depth troubleshooting, see the following article:
iPhone: Troubleshooting a cellular data connection
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3780
Follow the instructions below for assistance with troubleshooting cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, please test to see if the issue is resolved.
    1. Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
    2. Restart your iPhone.
    3. Ensure that your software is up to date:
              - Check for a Carrier Settings Update. Tap Settings > General > About.
              - Check for an iOS Software Update. Tap Settings > General > Software Update. Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
    4. Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
    5. If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try toggling it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
    6. Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still does not, contact your carrier to report the issue.
    7. Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    8. Restore the iPhone as new.
    9. Contact your carrier to:
              - Verify that the iPhone is properly set up on the account with the appropriate, current data plan.
              - Verify that there are no account-related blocks.
              - Find out if there are specific error messages in the carrier logs that could help determine why the issue is occurring.
If none of the above steps resolves the issue, contact your carrier, make an appointment at an Apple Retail Store, or contact AppleCare to troubleshoot further.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Random Connectivity Issues with Time Capsule

I am having random connectivity issues with my time capsule with my intel based iMac.  I don't have any issues with my MacAir, iPads or iPhones...  just the iMac.   It shows a "good" connection but sometimes...  TC won't be able to connect to run a backup or I can't get to the internet.   It doesn't appear to be an internet problem as I can get to the internet on other devices.   It appears to be a connection issue between the iMAC and the TC.   Thoughts or suggestions?

Do a full reset of the iMac.. apparently after the latest Mountain Lion update it can cause issues. I have not needed to try this as I have not seen it myself but I track the treads very closely and this popped up.

  • My brand new mac pro always had Internet connection issues at school. WHY is that? I see the school's Internet working perfectly fine on other PC's, but there is never a day where my mac doesn't have Internet connection issues at school. How do I fix it?

I got my mac pro in the middle of August. School started the week after. Internet was working perfectly fine at home. But at school, I never had a good connection. Sometimes on the good days I get a connection when I'm sitting at the exact spot in class I always sit at. It's ridiculous and it's frustrating. I invested my money into this laptop and I'm beginning to regret it. I thought it was the school's Internet, but I don't see Internet issues with other PC users. It's most frustrating on registration days and I'm trying to register for my classes before it gets taken, but again... Internet connection issues. It's random. Majority of the time, it doesn't work at all. I've done Network Diagnosis and turning WiFi off then turning it on again. I've done everything I could. I put my money on this laptop and it was a lot of money. I could have bought an 800 dollars laptop and I would have Internet connection anywhere on campus. So, I don't want to continue everyday to regret on buying this laptop every time I try to connect to the Internet at school or Starbucks or anywhere else. How do I fix this? What's the problem ?
At school, I heard this guy had a problem with Internet connections too and he owned a new mac book pro. He said something like Apple messed up on something, but he fixed it. If I knew mac book pro's had these issues I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. It's freezing on me every other day. It's ridiculous. But what concerns me the most is the Internet connection. So someone please tell me what can I do next to prevent the problem? Am I doing something wrong maybe?

    Hi Kevin,
I'm using an XLR input mic which is connected to the phantom power enabled XLR mic socket on a USB M-Audio M-Track. The M-Track is connected by USB to the Mac Pro - so effectively I've got an M-Audio USB soundcard with a mic input.  I've also tried a microphone that is a straight XLR to USB cable (guessing with some soundcard chip buried in the usb plug) but that also yields the same effect of bad latency, intermittent quality, stuttering and repeating and echoing (without the speakers on during record so its not feedback).
The mic works absolutely fine with other recording applications I have on the mac at the moment - albeit non-adobe ones (tested it on the EasyAudioRecorder - and it lives up to its name. it's easy)
I will try with Audition and report back, but sitting here right now I can imagine it would work fine with audition too - it just seems to be the way premiere is set up for recording into the timeline is a bit sketchy.  I'm willing to accept it might well be a quirk with the new Mac Pro trashcan - I'm not weighting all the woes on premiere.
Any thoughts or am I out of luck to sit with my fingers crossed for a fix in the next round of updates?
    Nathan.

  • Connection issues with EA4500

I had bad connection issues with my mobile device, so i pressed reset on my EA4500 router, and now when i connect to my network, it gives my limited connection even though i have 5 bars of signal. Not sure what to do now...

Resetting the router will erase all the settings you configured on the router since the initial setup. You manually configure the router's wireless settings so your wireless devices can have internet access again.

Make sure to use a computer that is hardwired via Ethernet cable to the router.
