Internet connection OK, can't download updates.

I just did a reinstall of the OS, but when I try to download the updates (via the software update) it downloads some updates normally, but it stops at about 50% when downloading the airport updates and the OS X update combined... And everything else internet-wise is functioning properly... Firefox, skype, thunderbird, etc...

Otherwise, try deleting this file. com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist located at /Users/YourName/Library/Preferences. Drag that .plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.

After two days of attempts, Google & Apple searches, one Apple post stated to turn off all firewalls and virus software and keep trying since there were 6 gazillion people trying to update. I have Windows 7 & Kaspersky and had to diable every single safety feature in Kaspersky as well as Firewalls and it finally allowed the download and update attempt.
Glancing at the forum, there appears to be numerous other problems with missing pictures, text problems etc after the IOS5 download but fortuneately, everything seems ok so far. Good luck, it is frustrating! Hattie47

Each model device requires it's own download of the new iOS version as the update files are specific to each model.

"No Internet Connection" = I can't download Illustrator... but I have internet working fine.

I've been trying to download Illustrator through the CC App on my Mac and it keeps saying I have no internet connection.
I've managed to download and install Photoshop, InDesign and Lightroom but I've been trying to download Illustrator for two weeks now and it keeps telling me I have no internet connection.
I've tested the internet connection by trying to download images, video and other items from various other websites and it doesn't have any troubles.
To be safe, I reinstalled the CC App just in case there was any weird glitch that could have been causing problems but I'm still having the same problem.
I click Install, it begins the download (very slowly) and then after a few hours of it downloading a small % it says no internet connection and when I retry a few times, it starts up again but from the beginning (i.e. back to 0%).
Sometimes the CC App will crash and the icon will disappear from my Finder Menu Bar also.
What is going on with this? Is there a way around it or is it an error that can be fixed?
Or am I doing something wrong that I don't know about?

No I don't have any firewall that I know of that could affect the Desktop app. I have reviewed the link you sent across and the results are as follows:
1. Make sure you can connect to the internet.
Yes, internet is all good... no problems here.
2. Make sure that you can access secure sites:
Yes, I can access secure sites as tested by the example in the list (https://www.adobe.com).
3. Check your hosts file.
Test successful after going to: https://lm.licenses.adobe.com
Moving on to reset the hosts file...
I've followed the instructions and I get to "Select the hosts file and open it".
If I simply double click, then the default is to open in TextEdit.
Once open, I go to find File > Save As, but it only says, "Save a Duplicate" and then once I save a duplicate, I don't know where to save it because the Save window only shows the basic folders and I don't know how to get back into the /etc folder from the Private files.
More instructions please, if possible?

I can't Download updates for my G5. I keep Getting this error Message " A networking error has occurred: zero byte resource (-1014). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again." But I do have an Internet connection. What is causing this problem? Oh, and my fans have become noisey like their working to hard..HELP!!

I can't download updates from i-tunes 8 to any device as it says i'm not connected to the internet when i am although i can access the itunes store . I have uninstalled and reinstalled and checked firewall settings , is there anything else i can try ?

I figured out the fix for the Mac users having this problem. I connected my iPhone to my iMac and started iTunes. A dialogue came up in iTunes, I OK'd that and then OK'd the usual "Do you trust this Mac" that comes up on my iPhone.
Suddenly Image Capture launched itself and there were all my photos, ready to be downloaded.

What version of iTunes are you using? The latest is 10.6.3. In iTunes, choose Help -> About iTunes to check the version number. If it's lower than 10.6.3, download the latest version from here.

I can't download update 5.0.1 and have disabled all security measures and the download still times out shortly after beginning the download. All other downloads are successful so I know the problem is not in the computer. Can anyone help?

You can use iTunes to sync the two devices. See the KB article, iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer and iTunes for Mac: sync contacts, calendar and other info.
If you want to use iCloud, your MacBook needs to use at least OS 10.7.4 or later. See Set up iCloud on all your Devices.

As long as they have been fully downloaded (or synced from your computer's iTunes) then you should be able to watch them in the iPad's Videos app without needing to be online.

I can not download updates

I can not download updates , via some time of downloading ,it quits and I see inscription saying no one of updates cannot be downloaded ,there is any mistake or manipulation might be, try download later. And so 10 times of trials to download (Air Port,iTunes,something else )

I can't download updates from hp support assistant

I have hp pavilion g6 and i can't download updates from hp support assistant, when i press download and install selected updates then i found above downloads is completed then i clicked Next and when i came back i found it still not done, help please!

Try the following
First of all, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant by using the Microsoft 'Fixit' on the following link - this is particularly useful in correcting issues that may prevent reinstallation on machines running a 64bit OS.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.
Next download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - the download links are towards the bottom of the page.

After the installation, restart the notebook again.

How do I speed this up. I have a fast internet connection but this is obviously not right.
The speed of the downlaod is dependant on the speed of your Internet connection. "I have a fast Internet connection...," doesn't actually mean anything unless you provide some numbers.
I have a cable Internet connection with 32 Mbps download speeds, but if you have DSL, you would probably be limited to 1.5 Mbps. Some would call both of these connections "fast," but obviously one is faster than the other.
What is the speed of your Internet connection?? Don't say, "fast."

I can't download updates from the update option in PS CS 5.1. Also having trouble installing the update directly from ADOBE. The program is crashing my system on a regular basis. Anybody got any ideas?

It might help if you were a bit more specific, e.g., ''I chose Help - Updates, and this happened, then that happened, then an error message that stated 'xxxxxx' was displayed''.
It could also help others help you if you'd describe your system - what kind of hardware, what operating system, etc. One good way to do that is to choose Help - System Info in Photoshop, then copy and paste the info into a post here.
