Internet connection say Restricted access"

I have been connecting to the internet via my Airport Base Station for weeks. Now I can connect, but get restricted access message from my ISP. I contacted them, there answer was "we don't support wireless". How was I able to access for weeks thru my Airport if this statement is true? I would really like to use my Airport as phones lines are a problem with my wheelchair. Any help would be appreciated!

I am able to successfully connect to Juno (dial-up) but when I try to open Firefox I get the "restricted access" message from Juno. My Airport Base Station is the only device I am using. At one point I was unable to connect with my internal modem, I thought it had quit so I was connecting with Airport no problem. Now I get the restricted access message, I did not change anything that's why it's a mystery to me. I am not sure what you mean about turning my modem off to get it to redirect to a different device.
You're one of the (presumably) rare people on this discussion board who still uses dial-up. Evidently you're using one of the AirPort units that included a dial-up modem. My comment about your modem presumed that you had broadband service and a broadband modem.
Do you see that "restricted access" message in any other browser than Firefox? Do you see it with every Web page that you try to view with Firefox? Have you tried contacting the Juno people about this?
I"m not sure how relevant this is to your situation, but on this Web page http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-67980.html I found these comments about Juno and the "restricted access" message:
"It would seem that Juno wants you to use their program to connect, and if you try to make a direct connection without their program, you cannot go to any webpages."
"[Juno] made it clear in an email response to me that you can only log on to the Juno servers using their proprietary software."
I'm not sure what options that leaves you.

my ipad says "connexion a l'Itunes Store impossible" when I click the App Store button. So, I cannot have access to the Apps. I have internet connection and I can use my emails and the safari. Please advise.

    Try this:
    1. Settings>General>Date & Time>Turn off set automatically
    2. Set date one year ahead
    3. Go back to iTunes and try again.
    4. You will get the same error.
    5. Go back to settings general date and time and turn back on 'set automatically'
Try connecting to iTune Store again.

  • My Airport Extreme is flashing yellow, but I still have internet connections and iPhone access to the network.  Does this mean that my network has been hacked or something else?

The light on my Airport Extreme is flahing yellow, but I still have network access to the internet with no issues.  PLus, I can still get into the network with my iPhone, too.
DO I have a problem (such as net work being hacked)?
Was going to shop and don't want my cc number scattered all over creation.
    Thanks.

    Suggest the following:
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click Manual Setup
Click directly on the word Status (2nd line on the summary page)
A window will open to explain why the amber light is blinking and offer suggested actions to remedy things.
If everything seems to be working OK, it might simply be a message that an update is available for your AirPort Extreme.
Now you know what to do next time the amber light is blinking.

    Base on the limit info.
Make sure you have a password for you incoming and outgoing mail server.
If that doesn't work, delete the account and set it up again.
If that doesn't work, then contact your email provider.

  • SHARING INTERNET CONNECTION

I'm trying to share my internet connection. I access the internet over my airport express, I want to share the internet connection via my ethernet port. Can anyone tell what are the procedures.

I'm trying to share my internet connection. I access
the internet over my airport express, I want to share
the internet connection via my ethernet port. Can
anyone tell what are the procedures.
    1 open System Preferences
2 select Sharing. You may have a closed padlock on the page. Click it and unlock with your system administrator name and password.
    3 select Internet
4 go to the 'Share your internet connection from' pull-down menu and select 'AirPort'
5 go to the 'To computers using' box and select 'Built-In Ethernet'
6 quit System Preferences. If you're asked to save changes, do so.
Warning: be careful how you set this up. There's a reason why Apple posts this warning:
"If your computer is connected to a network, turning on Internet sharing may affect the network settings of other computers and disrupt the network. Contact your system administrator before turning on Internet sharing."
when you try to turn sharing on. Your Mac will be set up as a DHCP server. If there are other DHCP servers on the network, (such as a router) you may create conflicts.
If your network is connected to the internet in the right (very, very, VERY wrong!) way, you can set your Mac up as a DHCP server over the internet. This would tend to make your ISP very, very, VERY angry in a very, very, VERY short time. Can you say 'Termination Of Service'? Knew you could.
Fortunately most home/small office routers, including AirPorts, use DHCP and NAT to prevent this kind of thing, so you have to go out of your way to do it... unless you mess with the settings and do it by accident. You haven't messed with the settings, have you?

  • AEBS and internet connection errors and dns errors.

    AEBS 7.3.2
It was running fine until I turned on my mybook one day like I had done several times before.
I received an error regarding a disk error with it. I could not find any problems though. But since then my AEBS has been having difficulty connecting to the internet. I can download via bit torrent, but not be able to surf the internet. I restart my internet connection, which involves turning off the power supply and restarting it, and I can surf the internet again. However, I receive a DNS server error, but everything seems to be fine, and I can surf the internet.
If I restart the AEBS it will not allow me to surf the internet, even though it says everything is fine. I can actually manage to go to google and do google searches, cant navigate away from there, but none the less new content. I have managed to download via Itunes and bit torrent but not surf to hot mail.com etc.
I know I can ignore it and the flashing amber light will go away, but that ignores the problem and doesn't fix anything. besides it still says I have an Internet connection error from day one. I dont't know why, and no ones been able to help with that.
    more info:
My isp uses a dynamic IP, so I have to use the automatic dhcp setting.
AEBS uses to go back to green light and automatically resolve the dns error, now not at all.
Please help, this is very frustrating.
    thanks

Bump, and of course I have set the message to ignore, which created a green light and now have 2 unresolved problem and internet works.
Still have the DNS server error, despite manually putting it in.
Still have internet connection error despite having a connection.
If I restart my airport extreme, the DNS message goes away, but does not allow me to access the internet through any web browser, but it works through one of my computers via bit torrent, but nothing else.
If I rest my internet connection I can access the internet, but recieve the DNS error. The internet connection error I have always had, for reasons unknown.
    Is the extreme broken?
I have done a factory reset on the airport and hard reset on the internet complete with the unplugging everything. My connection is stable according to my ISP, and I agree with them.
This seems to be a Airport extreme problem.

  • Internet connection problem- IP address from router, but will not connect

My Powerbook will connect to an open wireless network where I am and is assigned an appropriate IP address, but neither Mail nor Safari will connect properly. I know the system is working, because other people with wireless laptops can connect fine. I tried quitting everything and rebooting a number of times but no joy. I can't see anything in the settings that I can play with that will make a difference, but I can't understand why it won't connect.Very frustrating. Network diagnostics can't help either. I don't have access to the modem/router to reset it...

I'm having the same problem. I'm traveling and I was able to connect to the wireless network on my G4 Powerbook at the hotel this morning. Now I'm in a different location and I have a strong open wifi signal, but no internet connection. I can add that I also brought my iBook and it works fine on this network. Both worked just fine on this network back in October. I've tried in no particular order: rebooting (4x), Network Diagnostics in Safari ("N.D. cannot fix the current networking problems...make sure you are using the correct network settings"), creating a new user, comparing Network settings between the two Macs (the only difference is the last 3 digits of the IP assigned using DHCP), deleting preferences (airport, internetconnect, & networkConfig.plists, NetworkInterfaces & SystemConfiguration.plists), turning Airport off then back on, and setting up the iBook to share its internet connection. Internet Connect says that I'm connected to the network and have a full signal. Any other ideas?

  • This may sound dumb, but is there an app or a monthly subscription to carry wi-fi or internet connection. so i dont lose connection when i leave my house. want internet connection at all time

I have an ipod touch 5th gen.  storage capacity is 27.9 / 23.3 available.  IOS 7.1.2    model # ME978LL/A.   My question is, now this may sound dumb. But i was wanting to know if there is a app or a monthly subscription to have internet connection or wi-fi at all times instead of just shutting my ipod off very few apps work without internet connection almost dosen't seem worth 300 dollars.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR INFO.

Your internet connection depends on access to a wifi network. When you leave your house you go out of range of your own network, so the only way to connect is to find a free or paid public wi-fi service in the location you are in at the time; the alternative is to use your iPhone for what is called 'tethering' (providing a wifi signal you iPod can connect to) but it you have an iPhone you would want to use that anyway (and many service providers don't allow it - in any case it comes expensive as you are using a mobile data connection).

  • HT4914 can you download songs from itunes match from the cloud to your iPhone ie for times when you dont have internet connection

can you download songs from itunes match from the cloud to your iPhone ie for times when you dont have internet connection?

Unless you have an Internet connection you cannot access iCloud. You can download your music from iCloud to store permanently on your iPhone, but only when you have an Internet connection to do so.

  • Access Restriction - Internet Connection Policy (between two times)

I want to say something about the Access Restriction.
I set the policy for allow internet connection for one of my LAN PC's. For example, I set the policy to ALLOW internet connection EVERY DAY  from 8:00PM to 10:00PM. Starting with 10M internet connection stops. BUT, after a few minutes I do a power circle (turn OFF and turn ON the router) and I have internet connection again. For me, allowing internet connection from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM means  to have internet connection ONLY BETWEEN THIS HOURS, not before and not after.
In my opinion, this is the same situation with two DENY policies for internet connection, one from 12:00 AM to 8:00 PM and other from 10:00 PM to 11:55 PM (for the same PC, of course).
Why POWER CIRCLE broken this policies ?
ps - sorry for my English.

    @sunwatcher,
If I set a policy for my little boy PCs ... for allowing internet connection from 4:00PM to 6:00PM (for example) ... after 6:00 PM internet connection stops and he turn OFF and turn ON the router (power circle)  and after that he have internet connection, from then for a long time ...
I am from Romania, and I set time zone on GMT +2 (Bucharest time zone)
I insist with this problem because I want for him to use internet only between two times. Outside this time frame I want him to do their homework.

  • WRT54G - Cannot access internet but iMac airport says internet connection is fine... what's wrong?

I use a WRT54G wireless router connected to Mac. All of a sudden, I became unable to access certain websites on my iMac, such as Facebook and Apple homepages. But i can access Yahoo website. I tried resetting my linksys setup but it doesnt solve the problem. When i access my iphone via wifi at home, i am also unable to go into app store, facebook app, and emails with images won't load. I also cannot link my iphone to itunes on my iMac. What happens on my computer when I surf the internet is that the page just loads halfway and stop "responding". But my imac airport says that my internet connection is fine, however my access has become very "restricted". Can anyone tell me what's happening and how to resolve it?

To resolve difficulties accessing some websites when connected to a Linksys router you should check the following.
    Checking the router’s security settings
    Checking your computer’s security settings
Security on the web browser is set too high
Configuring the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) on the router
    Opening ports for secured sites

When I try to install itunes I get an error message that says "Cannot access internet connection \."  Can someone please tell what this means?
    My internet connection is working.

Okay. We'll try a different utility.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
