Internet content filters

Any way to provide content filtering for web access (aka: block porn, etc.)? The previously posted solution was "Unite" software which is no longer available.

I would recommend Content Barrier (www.intego.com), although I think it does block sites based on a list, it is very good and will monitor the admin account as well. Plus a trial version is available which is always a plus.
The only content filter that monitors based on actual site content is DansGuardian which is free, but I found a pain to set up. Still, it's worth trying if you can find a decent mac setup guide. A mac version is available here: http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Internet-Utilities/DansGuardian.shtml, and the DansGuardian homepage is here: http://dansguardian.org/

Hello; I am looking at Purchasing a BB Curve from Verizon Wireless (all of our phones are with them now).
I need to figure out how to set-up Internet (WEB) content filtering without using BES.  We are not setup with Microsoft exchange server etc.  I will be the only employee with a Blackberry.
Can this be done without using BES?  I have searched HIGH and LOW and have found NOTHING that tells me if this can be acheived and how.
Verizon Wireless offers Web Content filtering but of course NOT for BBs.

Hi and welcome to the forums,
I was unable to come up with any content filtering for a BIS device as well.
They are all designed for BES.

  • Internet Content Filtering Server for Mac OS X Server?

    Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone knew of a product that would allow my LAN to have Internet Filtering. It would be really good if I could set up my Mac OS 10.4 server as a gateway that will allow users access to the web with a username and password. It would also be good if I could have guest access of restricted access that would only allow certain websites to work.
I guess I am looking for some form of proxy server?
    Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks,
    David

I use Firefox, becasue I never put in the time to learn how Safari controls temporary/permanent cookie storage.
Firefox also has a large selection of add-ons to prevent javascript running or "tracking links" inside web pages, etc.

  • Using Content filters (HTML Filter)

    Hello.
I'm having problem displaying an html-page in the portal with an url-iview. The problem is that the portal is accessed using HTTPS, and the url-iview links to a html-page using http.
This will generate a popup in internet explorer about unsecure content.
I thought that a way to solve this could be to connect KM to the page and then let the url-iview show the html-page throw the KM Repository.
This works fine, however there is still one problem.
Inside the HTML page, there is <IMG src> tags that reffers to the http site.
How can I configure HTML filters to rewrite all image and stylesheet references via KM instead of to the http-site?
I've tried to understand the documentation on Content Filters (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/55/921d7bb0c611d5993800508b6b8b11/content.htm), but I don't know what to write in "Base Tag" property, or ir this even works.
Does anyone know if there is an example about this? Or perhaps know how to configure this?
    Regards, Mikael

This can be done, but it might not be a optimal solution. You would basically parse each HTML file and replace the links before streaming the content. You can create your own version of com.sap.km.cm.docs component which streams the content of a HTML file by replacing the links. And you would use your own component for creating the KM doc iviews that way you will have altered HTML links.

  • Lack of iPhone content filtering

Why does Apple not allow (or provide) any advanced content filtering software on the iPhone/iPad? Simply turning off internet browsers and preventing App downloads is not a solution. I believe many people would use content filtering software/features if provided. The explicit video/image internet issues today are of epidemic proportions and I know many would agree with me on this. The iPhone is an excellent device, but if Apple does not come up (or allow) a rock solid solution soon, I may have to use an inferior product (which does provide/allow these things) just so my family and I can be protected. Who would be the right person to talk to in order to have my voice heard?

    Settings > General > Restrictions.
There is an Explicit Language option.
Under Allowed Content, there is a Ratings option based on a selected country for Music & Podcasts, Movies, TV Shows, Books, and Apps.

  • Cisco Content Engine for Content Filtering

    Hi All,
I am looking for a low end solution for Content Filtering and would like to use Cisco Content Engine.
    1. The documentation said that Websense, Secure Computing SmartFilter (does not require separate SmartFilter) & N2H2 support is there on the CE. I used configurator on CE 510, but it did not give me option for any of those. I would appreciate any input in this regard.
    2. Also, I assume that once I get a Content Engine, I don't need to use Microsoft Proxy any more, please confirm.
    regards,
    Ahmer Ghazi

You would have to Install the Smartfilter software on the Content engine that would work with the ACNS software running on the CE. SmartFilter software operates inside your network to control user access to external Internet resources and allows you to restrict access to World Wide Web pages, newsgroups, and FTP sites.
    For more details refer:
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/webscale/uce/acns41/smrtfltr/sf_chap1.htm
The Content Engine does the job of storing content locally and serving it to the users, so you would not need to use the Microsoft Proxy.

is there a way to create content policies on web security appliances on information sent on public mails( gmail yahoo ) or IMs?
it might sound stupid as you cannot control the mail server so filter what can be sent out or not but on the other hand you can monitor the web traffic

  • Content Filtering for new tablets

We did this last year with our tablets. We went with iboss filtering which I highly recommend but it looks like you have web filtering in place so you would need to proxy the internet traffic. Contact the tech support of your web filtering and explain them what you need to do and they will tell you what needs to be done on your end. Then you would have to create configuration profile and push (you need MDM here) the proxy configurations to your tablets.

    Hello all,
I work for a local high school and they just bought tablets for all of the kids to use during the school year. They are wanting content filtering while they are at school, which we have, but they are also wanting "off site" filtering as well. What/How is the easiest way to set that up? We currently have a Cisco Meraki firewall setup for the high school.

  • Content filtering, I think...

So I listen to Bubba the Love Sponge on Radioio.com.  There web browser player uses Adobe Flash and there desktop players uses Air.  I can listen to all of the radioio music stations with no problem, but when I try to listen to Bubba's 2 stations the player won't work.  I've contacted the Radioio support team and they have no idea why only the bubba stations are being blocked.  I'm running Windows 7 Pro.  I've checked the content filter on Windows 7 and it's not turned on.  I've check both Internet Explorer's and Firefox content filtering and they are set to the lowest setting possible.  I've tested it on a comple computers in the office that are running XP pro and it work's fine,  I've tested his channels on my home computer that has windows 7 home and it works fine.  So there is something on my windows 7 pro computer at work that is stopping the feed.  I've checked every other part out and I'm down to it either being Adobe Flash or Adobe Air.  I really hope someone knows what's going on.
    Thanks for you help

It doesn't really 'integrate with NDS'. You load it (and unload it)
with an NCF file. You use it in BMgr by adding an access rule. Simply
don't load the NCF file and remove the rule, and it doesn't run. To
delete it entirely, you just delete the linkwall folder where it puts
    its files.

  • BBSM content filtering

    Hi,
We are keen to introduce wlan hotspots in our libraries to allow the public access to the internet, however we really require content filtering. Has anyone out there managed to filter content while using the BBSM? Can the BBSM perform content filtering at all or is the functionality limited to the "walled garden" feature? Can a proxy running Webmarshal or similar be used along with the BBSM?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
We use a product called SurfControl on a Windows box to filter web traffic that flows through the BBSM. We set up a SPAN (or monitor) session on the switch to which both the BBSM and SurfControl Server are connected. I have not tried the built-in ISA feature in the BBSM, but it is my understanding the you can do filtering and monitoring with this feature enabled.

  • Is there a list of what 4G devices support content filtering

Long story short, I am due for a device upgrade in a few months. I have been happy with Verizon's coverage, but have been using a 3G phone for the past few months because I need the content filtering on it.  Such content filtering does not appear to be available on the Razr M that I was using.  From what I've been able to find out, content filtering is only available on 4G on certain phones.  I'm ok with that.  I can't seem to find a list of what models content filtering is available on and what models it isn't.
Content filtering is a service I absolutely need.  I've been happy with Verizon's coverage and service, but I can't keep using a 3G phone forever and would like to move to 4G for obvious reasons so I need to find a phone that will work with content filtering on Verizon which is why I'm looking for a list of models that support content filtering.  If I can't find a 4G model that supports content filtering I may have to switch providers.  I really hate to do this for obvious reasons, but this is a service that is vital to me.

It would seem this web site will answer your question.
    https://m-support.verizonwireless.com/support/terms/products/content_filtering.html
It makes note of Blackberry devices not compatable see note:
The service does not work on most Push To Talk devices, any device with a static Internet Protocol address or on search results provided through the Get It Now Search application. The Internet filtering capabilities of the service do not work on phones using WiFi, Mobile Web 1.0, BlackBerry devices or on devices that use Venturi Compression Software, including phones tethered to PCs or PC cards, unless the compression software is turned off. Internet filtering will not work on most advanced devices until you have turned the device off and back on after every Content Filter setting change. The music filtering capabilities of the service do not work on phones with Verizon Music v1.0 software. Call 800-922-0204 or 611 from your handset if you are on a corporate calling plan to determine eligibility to use the service and to activate the service.

  • High Amount of Spam on Exchange 2013 - Content Filtering is Enabled but Pfizer Spam Filling Up Everyone's Mailboxes

    Hello
Previously I used Exchange 2010 with Forefront Threat Protection installed and this used to do a good job of stopping all the spam.
However since updating to Exchange 2013 earlier this year and enabling the integrated spam filtering everyone noticed a sudden increase in the amount of spam which was getting through which has been bad for a long time.
We have been living with it but in the last 3 weeks everyone has started getting about 40 emails a day from Pfizer for Viagra. All these seem to defeat the content filtering as Viagra is spelt with an extra I and the email address is always different.
Also images in emails are blocked by default but somehow all the images on these spam messages appear for everyone.
I am not sure the spam filtering is working at all and I'm not sure how to tell as ForeFront gives you a nice graphical dashboard but I can find nothing similar to this in Exchange and PowerShell seems the only way to configure the limited functionality
    of the content filter.
Is there any way to get rid of these messages as it doesn't look very good when they are constantly popping up for everyone?
    Thanks

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 EDGE role content filtering ?

    Hello,
Have Exchange 2013 SP1 with CU5 with antispam enabled on mailbox role server. And i wonder if i deploy 2013  Edge role, will i get more granular content filter control, like there is in Office 365? For example: i want to treat empty messages as not
    spam.
I have read that control of Edge server is done ONLY by powershell. So if edge role is deployed, still there is no content filter control in ECP (like in office365) ??

    Hi,
The Content Filter agent assigns a spam confidence level (SCL) rating to each message. The SCL rating is a number between 0 and 9. A higher SCL rating indicates that a message is more likely to be spam.
Based on my knowledge, I'm afraid we can't filter the empty messages and treat them as not spam.
Here is an article about content filtering in Exchange 2013 for your reference.

Is there a way to share internet content from my Macbook Air to my tv using apple tv?

It should appear. Are you using OS X 10.8.4 "Mountain Lion"? That and the presence of an AirPlay device on your LAN should be all that is required. Read the troubleshooting steps in Troubleshooting AirPlay Mirroring later in that same document.
Your router may be an obstacle. What is its model number? A newer model, or a firmware update for it may be required.
