Internet crashes

i was wondering if anyone else is having a problem with the iphone crashing their WI-FI when they connect to it at home. when i connect my phone it crashes the entire internet for almost everthing except the phone itself. is there any setting that i have to change to make this stop or is the phone messed up.

You will have to check with your router manufacturer for potential issues with the iPhone. One place to start would be to look for updated firmware for your router. What kind of router do you have?

• Can't order book...internet crashes all the time

I am using Snow Leopard and iLife 08 version of iphoto. I now want to print a book of 14.5mb file size. every time I try my internet crashes at different stages of the file transfer to Apple. Tried this several times now and at different times of the day and by using both wireless and ethernet...but it still crashes my internet connection....anyone got any clues ?

1 - It is best to post iPhoto '08 questions in the iPhoto '08 forum rather than the iPhoto 5 forum you posted in - I have requested that your thread be moved.
2 - have you talked to your internet provider?
3 - have you previewed your book - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040
4 - have you read the Apple suggestions - http://www.apple.com/uk/support/photoservices/account_troubleshooting/
5 - do you get any error message?

• How do I restart iOS download after internet crashes without having to start from the beginning.

My internet crashes and stops downloading the iOS restore software for my phone. When I try to restart the download, it starts from the beginning. How can I get it to cary on from where it left off? Why doesn't it do this automatically!?
Thanks.

If you've already unsuccessfully tried to resume the download then the previously partial download may no longer be present on you computer.
What you can do in such a case is:
* Move the old .part partial download and the 0 byte final file without the .part to another location.
* Start a new download and pause it, don't close Firefox.
* Copy the two files (.part and 0 byte final) that you moved above back to the download location to replace the new files that were created.
* Resume the download in Firefox.

• Internet crashing on Lion OSX...

Does anyone know more about internet crashing on Lion OSX?
Since I use Lion I'm feeling all Microsoft again. Things suddenly move, are being deleted or my iMac crashes. If you're about to update... don't! It will save you money, but most of all; a lot of frustration!! Even wanting to go back to Windows (...!!!)
But now I have the Lion version, I have to deal with it. So, what goes wrong now.... my internet connection (only on my iMac, NOT on my iPhone, iPad or any other device) stops from time to time. I have to restart my iMac to make it work again.
Does anyone now an easier / faster way? / Now how to reach Apple people to fix these bugs (can't believe I'm asking this)

Don't know, but try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release].

Standard troubleshooting steps are reset, restore, restore as new. Have you tried the reset? Hold down the home button along with the power button until you see the Apple, then let go

If you drop the attitude, stop ranting and give a bit more information somebody may be able to help you.
What do you mean the internet crashes? I've been using the internet for years and I've never known it to crash. Do you mean Safari crashes? or maybe your modem? Or do you mean you get disconnected from the internet.
Be a bit more specific if you expect anyone here to help you. No one here works for Apple and ranting is rude.

• Internet Crashes on Certian Sites

On some sites, most notable bravenet.com where my band's website is hosted, the internet crashes. Internet Explorer will just crash when I try to edit the pages, but when I use Safari, I get a kernal panic. Does anyone know why this might happen or how to fix it?

Hello again Dave,
I have just been all over the site in question with no ill effects here.
Is this using the same computer that we had an issue with a few weeks back?
If its crashing with IE I doubt its a Safari issue.
Can you post the crash log?
It may even be better to post that in a new thread over in the Power PC part of the forums.
Regards

• Hi,I am unsure if I have a safari or modem problem. It only happens when I use my macbook pro, my HP windows is fine. Internet crashes on modem and then a message that safari is not connected. I don't know where to start sorry I am not technical at all.

Hi there, my internet is crashing everytime I use my macbook pro/safari it happens roughly every 2 mins, it can happen on any website.
I am not technical at all and I am at a total loss of where to start with this. I did a bit of research on the internet but no luck in finding any
help.
Basically I am not sure if it is a modem of safari problem. I have no problems when using my HP on without windows explorer on the internet.
I am working wireless ADSL 2 - Bigpond - 2 Wire 2701 HGV-W and a macbook pro purchased around 5 months ago. Since the purchase date
I have had problems with internet.
Safari brings up a page you are not connected to the internet. I then look at the modem and DSL and internet lights are both flickering and or/off.
They then re-set themselves. I then have to re-set preferences on safari and quit and restart.
I have also tried using with cable into mac and modem and no difference.
I can only figure that maybe Safari is not compatible with the modem? could this be the case?
Thanks for reading and any assistance would be appreciated.
Fi

There's an Apple help page on the DNS problem - at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3408
The first thing to try is changing your DNS settings - and for that you need to open System Preferences, then the
Network section.
In Network - click on Advanced - then the DNS tab
under DNS servers - use the + button to enter two extra lines
either these, from google dns
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
or from OpenDNS
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
then click OK & then 'Apply'
You would need to do that seperately for the Cable (Ethernet) settings and Wireless (Airport)

• New iMac wireless internet crashes repeatedly -- why?

Just set up the following wireless LAN: Netgear WGT624v3 wireless router as access point between a broadband cable modem, a new 27" iMac, a PowerBook G4, and a Canon wireless printer. Everything works great except for one thing: whenever I'm trying to use the internet on the new iMac, my internet connection crashes and I have to manually reset the modem and router. This happens when downloading a file even as small as 2 Mb. As you can imagine, this has become incredibly irritating, as none of us can get anything done on our new computer without me having to come over and flip a switch on the power strip to repeatedly reset the internet connection.
The Netgear router is about as old as the PowerBook (3+ years)--I see it's listed "EOL" (end-of-life) on the Netgear website, and I'm wondering if it may not be powerful enough to handle the new iMac? That's the only thing I can think of, since using the internet with the PowerBook causes no problems at all. I don't understand the subtleties of Airport v. Airport Extreme, 802.11b, g, n or whatever, to figure this out on my own.
Anyone had a similar problem and/or can confirm that the router is the culprit before I needlessly spend money on a new one?

Some things you can try, if you haven't already:
-Make sure you don't have any cordless phone base stations operating near your router.
-Are any other electrical appliances (like microwave ovens or fluorescent bulbs) operating when your wireless connection fails?
-Power down the router and the iMac, then restart each.
-Change the channel your router uses to broadcast its signal. You should be able to do this from the web browser interface most routers support.
-Check Netgear's support website for firmware updates. Some routers can be commanded to check this from the web browser interface.

• Internet crashing immediately after internet accessed, any ideas?

When I access the internet, it comes up and immendiately crashes.

If you don't have any pressing projects, you could try completely wiping everything off and then reinstalling.
It's just so odd...
Perhaps Mylenium might have some ideas as he's more technically-minded than I.
If you don't get any more good suggestions here, contacting Adobe Support isn't a bad idea.

• Kernel Panic + Internet Crashing

This has been happening since 2 days ago, my internet explorers have been crashing constantly at around 8pm (first I thought it was only Firefox but then I realised that the same thing happens with Safari) and then I have the message that tells you to restart the computer (Kernel Panic). I think that the reason for this is that I don't have the 10.6.3 upgrade, but when I try to upgrade to this version and to iTunes 9.1 there's an error during the installation, and I've seen in other forums that I'm not the only one with this error during the upgrade. Right now I'm downloading the upgrade from my PC and then I'm going to install it on my iMac to see if this solves the problem, I hope it does.
Any recommendations?
EDIT: Itunes and Microsoft Office are crashing too...

Welcome to the discussions.
Kernel panic is usually but not always, a hardware related problem. Did you upgrade the RAM or some other hardware. Or did you attach any new peripheral lately.
As regards update to 10.6.3 I would suggest use the combo updater and not via software update. You can download the combo update here http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1017

• Internet crashes (DDoS?)

hello i have been using skype for some time now. Recently i have found out that whenever i would start up skype, it would knock out my wifi, weird but it didnt matter since i was on ethernet. However about 5 days ago my internet and wifi just plained crashed, my modem told me i was not connected to the internet. I have to do a complete modem and router restart to fix it.I have reason to believe it is skype. Has anybody experienced this or has any advice on this issue? Please this is getting quite frustrating.

Nobody here can tell you why that happens as we know nothing about your network infrastructure. I suggest your network engineers get involved.
