Internet directory clients

Question

I have installed and the server works fine. The demo shows two client interfaces through the ldap interface. One is an applet used in the demo to create a new user, the other is an internet directory gateway using servlets and displaying HTML. where do we get these two client interfaces? The admin PDF files only talks about the oidadmin application.

Hello Chad:
The demo you are refering to is the one which shows Meta data synchronozation with OID. The following is a description of how this demo flows:
1. A users is added to the Oracle 11i Apps HR interface. Although HR Apps is not yet LDAP enabled, OID has a Directory Integration Platform built into it so you can synchronize non LDAP enabled applications with OID.
After the new users is added to HR, OID synchronizes the data in the HR database and provisions a new user in OID.
2. Next we login to Portal as the new user but the authentication is done against the new information for that employee in OID.
3. After the new employee is logged into the Portal Application via the "Login Server" the user follows a link to another web applications which allows them to use a Self Service Web Application (SSA)to change things like passwords, photos and anything else you trust the user to change through ACL's you setup in OID. Notice how when the user clicks on the link to the SSA servlet that they did not need to enter a password again. This demonstrates Single Sing-on (SSO)
The main focus of this demonstation is to show how to use Oracle's LDAP server OID as a place for user provisioning and administration and how to automatically sychronize OID with other sources even if they are not LDAP enabled.
Another point we are trying to demonstrate is that you can have a new employee provisioned and ready to use their applications within seconds of being entered in your HR application.
The software used in the demo is as follows:
Oracle OID, Oracle Portal, Oracle Login Server, Oracle HR Apps.
