Internet doesn't work for first 10 minutes, then works great. . .

New to the forum, great wealth of info. I've searched here but still needing some assistance please. . .
Wireless Router: Linksys WRT54GS
Computers connected to internet: MacBookPro, OSX and HP Notebook G62-457-DX, Windows 7 Home Premium
Both computers have the same issue. Upon start-up and opening web browser, there is no connection to the internet for approximately 10 minutes. Then the internet begins working and is fast and reliable. WiFi connection shows a full signal.
What I've done to troubleshoot so far:
Restarting the modem, router, and notebooks multiple times did not resolved the issue.
On the Mac the first thing I did was install Firefox to see if perhaps it was a brower issue - did not resolve
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

the devices may be taking a long time to connect to the network. prior to checking if you're online, have you checked whether your wireless connection is already active?
your router could probably use a firmware upgrade.
to check the current firmware
Step 1:

NOTE: The router’s default IP address is 192.168.1.1.
Step 3:
Enter your router's User name and Password then click OK.
NOTE: The default password is “admin” and you may leave the User name field blank.
Step 4:
When the router’s web-based setup page appears, the firmware version can be found on the upper right corner of the screen.
take note of the device's hardware version and check what's the latest FW on the website: http://homesupport.cisco.com.
you may contact tech support for help on firmware upgrade if needed.

Hello,
I'm new here and this is probably going to sound dumb but... my father deleted some files from the Library by mistake and now internet doesn't work in his computer. Everything seems normal, but the webpages don't load (we tried lots of pages and 3 browsers). If you try to update any software it can't connect to the internet either.
He reinstalled the system (it's Mountain Lion, I think) but it didn't worked (it was a partial reinstallation, without losing the data). He also tried restarting and pressing CMD-R but nothing happened.
Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thank you so much in advance! (and sorry for any typos, English is not my native language)

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
If using Wifi/Airport...
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.
For 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8, System Preferences>Network, unlock the lock if need be, highlight the Interface you use to connect to Internet, click on the advanced button, click on the DNS tab, click on the little plus icon, then add these numbers...

(There may be better or faster DNS numbers in your area, but these should be a good test).
Click OK.

Toshiba Satellite L450D-124 - Internet doesn't work

Hello, suddenly my internet on my laptop stopped to work, everything should work since there is no sign of an error or something. According to my settings it should work but when i try to do something that requires internet connection it says that the webpage can't be viewed or internet doesn't work. Apperently it does work when i connect through lan. But through wifi it doesn't. Anyone can help me with this problem? I resetted my whole laptop so there couldn't be any virusses or something.

I tried to do the troubleshooting like suggested but unfortunately the screen does not show anything!!
I am so disappointed with Toshiba since I have paid about 1000 bucks on this laptop and just after one month of the end of limited warranty it got a problem!!
Please if you have another suggestion and troubleshooting please let me know.

Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

If still problem and it does not connect to any networks make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Despite the connection indication you may not really be connected to your WiFi network.
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. To check on this go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address shown starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix for this can be as simple as restarting your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

Launch the Terminal app in /Utilities/, run these two commands (copy & paste each one separately and hit the return key):
sudo chflags 0 /volumes/*
sudo chmod a+rx /volumes/*
at the Password: prompt, type in your admin password, carefully since nothing displays on the screen, and hit the return key. These should unlock your drives. You might have to restart.

Yes, a plugin or an extension either one...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Security tab.
Deselect: Allow all other plug-ins. Quit and relaunch Safari to test.
If that made a difference, instructions for troubleshooting plugins here.
If it's not a plug-in issue, select the Extensions tab. If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, quit and relaunch Safari to test. If that made a difference, uninstall one at a time, quit and relaunch Safari to test until you find the culprit.

If you are having issues with the functions keys, then check the settings in System Preferences > Keyboard and look to see if Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys is unchecked so you can use it properly.

Iphone says 4G but internet doesn't work

My iphone has full bars and 4G icon but my internet has no connection.

The phone is about one year old. I can make and receive calls. I noticed this problem about a month ago. Once I have WiFi connection, internet works fine. It's really annoying when the phone says 4G (internet connection), but internet doesn't work. If the AT&T network is not available, why does my iphone say 4G? Thanks
