My internet is dropped every time my phone rings. I never had this problem before I connected the airport extreme to my Imac. How do I fix this? What's wrong?

Most likely the problem is that you are operating both the AirPort's wireless network and the portable phone in the same 2.4 GHz radio band. This is a known problem and, as you found out, the main symptom is loss of connectivity during a phone call.
There are several potential fixes for this:
o Change radio channels on either the AirPort or the phone.
o Change radio bands on either the AirPort or the phone. The newer 802.11n AirPort will operate in either the 2.4 or 5.0 GHz bands. There are also portable phones that operate in either the 900 MHz or 5.8 GHz bands.
o Use a non-portable phone.

When you said you have no fax machines on your line, that does include computers directly connected to the phone line?
The reason that I ask is a computer with a dial-up modem (a non broadband modem) that can connect to your phone line, can have software that makes the computer act as a fax machine.

the vibration on my iphone 5s. i tried restarting it that didn't work. i went to setting made sure vibration was on. i also tried changing the vibration that is set for when my phone rings and it didn't vibrate when i did that. what should i do?

do you mean like when someone calls you, that's what they hear? if that's the case, it may be a ringback tone or feature. i've heard the message that you are describing a few times when i have called people (as opposed to hearing the ringing sound), but i honestly don't know much about it. all i can figure is that it's a "ringback" tone or feature.

I updated my phone last night with the new iOS7.1 my phone worked fine before updating. Since updating, I have no sound from music or videos, but I do have sound when my phone rings. anyone know how to fix this? I have already done a restore that did nothing.
Clean iPhone charging port with toothbrush and small amount of isopropyl alcohol. If still problem the faulty part is charging port assembly with flex cable, lower mic, and connector of home button flex. Apple handles this problem with replacement iPhone 4S with Warranty or AppleCare coverage, if no coverage it is $199.

Did you set up a custom ringtone for a specific contact? Is it that contact that calls with the wrong ringtone? The default only applies to contacts that don't have a ringtone specified.

I am new to this forum so please let me know if I don't supply all the necessary information.
For a couple of months now we have had a consistent problem with the broadband connection dropping when an incoming phone call is received, prior to this it had been fine for a long time. After making the normal user checks, as recommended by BT, the problem persisted. A BT engineer visited my house and was able to reproduce the fault at the master socket. He traced the line back, via the manholes under the street to a connection box outside the village. After working hard for four hours he seemed to have fixed the fault and was able to demonstrate streaming video uninteruppted by an incoming call. He told me that he had solved the problem by re-routing the line, he also replaced the mark 2 router with a mark 3 router. Twenty four hours later the problem returned and is again absolutely consistent - even with just the router connected to the master socket the broadband light will go out when an incoming call is received. On phoning the helpline I was told that there was a problem at the exchange, which should be fixed within 24 hours, but it wasn't and I didn't hear back. Further investigation showed that both of these issues had been marked as resolved. We are a long way from the exchange and have had a history of problems with both the line itself and the exchange. In the past the hard working BT engineers have always managed to get things sorted out when they have visited.
This time I am struggling, as I can't seem to find the right approach to BT to persuade them to build on the work that the engineer who came out so recently did - I always seem to end up describing the problem from the beginning and then being told that it is my internal wiring that is at fault, nobody will acknowledge any of the work that has been done by the engineer that visited or the person that approached the exchange.
Sorry for such a long post, but it is very frustrating - I have considered changing the phone number so that nobody can make any incoming calls, but then I would have no phone!!

Thank you for your very prompt response. Clicking on that link does not show up any problems in my area or with my line. I have limited technical knowledge, but what you say about high resistance does fit the facts. We have had a lot of problems over the years, most of which have been traced back to faults between the box at the edge of the villagae and our house - we have had the line replaced more than once, although I'm not exactly sure what that involved. In the past the fault that recurred was very slow speed and dropping of the broadband connection, this is different now in that the speed is actually now quite good for our area, but the connection drops when a phone call is made or received. I did have the fault logged with BT, but it has now disappeared from "track faults" without being resolved.
When everything is working it is a very good service. My friend in an isolated village in North Wales had BT broadband as soon as his local exchange was enabled. It has provided faultless service ever since, at a higher speed than I can get on the outskirts of a major city.

When I am using my blue tooth, when my phone rings I have to physically take it off the phone and push it to my blue tooth. How can i get it to do it automatically?Answer the call using the bluetooth device instead of swiping to answer on the phone. If you swipe to answer on the phone, it assumes you intend to use the phone instead of the bluetooth headset.

Now I am thinking - Is there any way to get a wired phone? I know that would be inconvenient, but I would really like to see you shut down at least one of the wireless systems for a good test.I have new equipment of PACE Plc, 5031NV-030, H/W version 2701-000875-004. It's installed by an AT&T techinican in Feb 2015. Our problem is, every time when we receive a phone or dial out, the U-verse internet drops. Only until the phone is hung up, U-verse will resume within 1-min. Our cordless phone is a GE model with 5.8GHz. What to check? Internet drops when Starcraft 2 patches

So I installed SC2 the day before yesterday and as soon as it started patching the problems began. Everytime I open SC2 and begin to patch my internet drops. Airport wont drop or anything, just the internet will stop working. If I go to network diagnostics it says "network settings changed" before I can complete it and my internet will come back up. I have bootcamp on this computer and windows 7 has no problems with connecting, even when SC2 is patching. Any ideas?The patcher of blizzard uses bittorrent and lots of times the chipset used in the older MBP has issues when too many requests are made too quickly which is what a torrent client would do and older airport units have this issue as well.
My old airport used to hang whenever i run vuze which is what made me buy wifi routers of other brands. Try it using other router brands and see if you still encounter the issue. I'm pretty sure its either the chipset on your MBP or the airport causing the issue. -
Airtunes audio drop with cordless phone call
... is this normal behavior? I kinda don't mined since it's like an automatic mute (although I need to hit play again in iTunes after the phone call). Just wondering if there are configuration options to change this. Maybe switching channels?
Changing channels may help.
Some cordless phones operate on the sam 2.4GHz frequency as Airport and therefore can cause interference.

Wireless Network block or dropped when IP telephone rings
I am using Apple's Time capsule dual band 802.11 WI-FI with Comcast internet, TV and IP telephone bundle. I am finding that when the IP telephone rings, it drops the internet connection to my windows PC and DVD player wireless connection (e.g. netflix) but does not seem to impact my MAC computer internet connection. While the phone is in use, the internet connection remains disabled to those devices then reconnects after the telephone is hung up. Suggestions are welcome.
Per chance are each of your IP phones wireless portable phones? Do they happen to operate in the 2.4 GHz band? If so, this would be the reason for the drop-offs. Also, I'm not sure why, if true, this would not affect your Mac ... unless it is connected by Ethernet.

Why do I not have internet access when my phone says it's on LTE?
I am currently having internet connectivity issues. My phone will say it's on LTE, but when I try to use an app that requires internet connectivity, it says that I need to check my internet connection. I can't refresh facebook, check e-mails, or send iMessages. When I join a Wifi network, everything works as it should. I've tried doing a soft reset on my phone multiple times by holding the home and sleep button down until the phone reboots. I've also restored network settings, but nothing seems to be helping. Just wondering if anyone had any tips before I had to take it into the Verizon store.

I am sorry you are having these issues with accessing the internet on your device. Thank you for all the troubleshooting you have done thus far. Have you tried to remove and reinsert the SIM? http://vz.to/1irq2bL Are you able to send text messages and use voice just fine? Are there others reporting the same issues with data connection?

Manual Switch of Audio Output fails when google phone rings
I am using a plantronics headset that plugs into my usb port to make calls using google talk. I normally use the computer with the internal speakers providing sound, and only switch to the plantronics headset when I need to make a call. I can option click on the volume control icon in the toolbar which lets me switch the sound output. However, when a google phone call is incoming, I hear it ring and want to switch to the headset. The toolbar shows I have switched to the plantronics headset but the sound continues to come out of the computer and not into the headset. The headset is a Plantronics .Audio 655 DSP. Do I need to purchase a simpler headset that plugs into the line in mini jack ports instead?

Internet drops when hot outside?
The past few days my internet connection has been dropping in the afternoon. I've had connection issues off and on but its been really bad as of late from 11m - 3pm. Is this something that a technican can correct? I have blast 50mb/s with an SB6141 modem. Here are the modem stats. Just to get the power levlel to this, I have to disconnect the spliiter in the computer room (and can't use the TV in that room- which kind of sucks) .
