Internet drops when hot outside?

The past few days my internet connection has been dropping in the afternoon. I've had connection issues off and on but its been really bad as of late from 11m - 3pm. Is this something that a technican can correct? I have blast 50mb/s with an SB6141 modem. Here are the modem stats. Just to get the power levlel to this, I have to disconnect the spliiter in the computer room (and can't use the TV in that room- which kind of sucks) . Its 2-3db higher power level with the splitter and drops all the time. thank you for your assistance,David  Channel ID 1  2  3  4  5  6  7  8  Frequency 705000000 Hz  711000000 Hz  717000000 Hz  723000000 Hz  729000000 Hz  735000000 Hz  741000000 Hz  747000000 Hz  Signal to Noise Ratio 34 dB  34 dB  34 dB  34 dB  35 dB  35 dB  35 dB  34 dB  Downstream Modulation QAM256  QAM256  QAM256  QAM256  QAM256  QAM256  QAM256  QAM256  Power Level The Downstream Power Level reading is a snapshot taken at the time this page was requested. • Internet drops when Starcraft 2 patches

    Hey,
So I installed SC2 the day before yesterday and as soon as it started patching the problems began. Everytime I open SC2 and begin to patch my internet drops. Airport wont drop or anything, just the internet will stop working. If I go to network diagnostics it says "network settings changed" before I can complete it and my internet will come back up. I have bootcamp on this computer and windows 7 has no problems with connecting, even when SC2 is patching. Any ideas?

The patcher of blizzard uses bittorrent and lots of times the chipset used in the older MBP has issues when too many requests are made too quickly which is what a torrent client would do and older airport units have this issue as well.
My old airport used to hang whenever i run vuze which is what made me buy wifi routers of other brands. Try it using other router brands and see if you still encounter the issue. I'm pretty sure its either the chipset on your MBP or the airport causing the issue.

  • U-verse internet dropped when 5.8GHz wordless phone is used (in and out)

I guess I was thinking about getting where it could easilyt be returned.
Now I am thinking - Is there any way to get a wired phone? I know that would be inconvenient, but I would really like to see you shut down at least one of the wireless systems for a good test.

I have new equipment of PACE Plc, 5031NV-030, H/W version 2701-000875-004. It's installed by an AT&T techinican in Feb 2015. Our problem is, every time when we receive a phone or dial out, the U-verse internet drops. Only until the phone is hung up, U-verse will resume within 1-min. Our cordless phone is a GE model with 5.8GHz. What to check? I know how to access the configuration page, here is the home tab ==========================Key Things to do Using Your GatewayTroubleshoot - Go to online support, troubleshooting & AT&T eRepairWireless - Modify security or settingsRestart your System - Reboot the gatewayHome Network - Find a computer, share a fileCustomize Firewall - Adjust firewall settings for gaming and applications==========================   Please advise. Thanks.

  • Internet drops when cordless phone rings

My internet is dropped every time my phone rings. I never had this problem before I connected the airport extreme to my Imac. How do I fix this? What's wrong?

Hello mrmikal. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
My internet is dropped every time my phone rings. I never had this problem before I connected the airport extreme to my Imac. How do I fix this? What's wrong?
Most likely the problem is that you are operating both the AirPort's wireless network and the portable phone in the same 2.4 GHz radio band. This is a known problem and, as you found out, the main symptom is loss of connectivity during a phone call.
There are several potential fixes for this:
o Change radio channels on either the AirPort or the phone.
o Change radio bands on either the AirPort or the phone. The newer 802.11n AirPort will operate in either the 2.4 or 5.0 GHz bands. There are also portable phones that operate in either the 900 MHz or 5.8 GHz bands.
    o Use a non-portable phone.

Ok basicially the laptop is connected via wire to my computer which uses XP.
Everytime I try to conenct my laptop wireless using windows 7 the internet drops after about 5 seconds when it connects on both devices. Same thing just happened when tried to connect it with Wi.
Last time I tried this was a during Christmas holidays and I had no problems with it whatsoever, worked like a charm and had multiple connections but know its being stubborn.
In addition my dad told me that everytime he connected his laptop on it it gave him trojans.....I doubt this myself but said just incase.
    Any ideas?

Login to the Router setup page and below change the Wireless settings of your Router.....
Change the Wireless Channel to 11-2.462GHz...and let the Wireless SSID Broadcast should be Enable and click on Save Settings...
Once you are done with the settings then you can try to connect to your wireless network... Once you are done with this settings, then try to connect to your wireless network...
If still the same problem then you can try to upgrade the firmware of your Router.

Firefox 3.5.1 on WinXP automatically switches to "Work Offline" when a connection to the internet drops. This was not the case with earlier versions. Why is this necessary? Is there an option/preference setting to change this?

    # Yes, if you go to accounts.firefox.org, sign out, you will now be signed out.
    # Sign back in, and you will be asked to save the password you entered.
    # This will save the password and autocomplete if you have this option turned on.

But after storing the correct password you can manage any duplicate passwords in the password manager.[[Password manager - Remember, delete and change saved passwords in Firefox]]

  • Internet dropping multiple times an hour, extremely slow! Please HELP!

I am experiencing constant internet drops, and significantly reduced speed when it actually works. I've about had it with comcast, I'm an inch away from filing a complaint with the FCC and canceling my service. I've had this issue for months. Last week a technician came out, then left without resolving the issue. Said everything was fine tested all the cables, replaced some outside and went his way. I had someone come out again today, because not only are we still having constant timeouts, but when the internet is working it's fluctuates from mediocre speed to poor speed, 13.5 mbps to as low as 2 mbps. Keep in mind,  I'm paying for 100 mbps. I've gone through 3 routers in the past week and a half, the tech that came out today yielded the same results - no joy on the constant disconnects or sluggish speeds. I've spent all day long speaking to rude, unhelpful customer service representatives on the phone. Now I get to wait another 2 days for yet another technician to come out this thursday. The issue I'm experiencing according to the logs is a T3 Timeout, everytime I am disconnected it reflects as such in the logs. There is no event recorded for the speed drops however. Looking around the forums, people are saying this is an issue with the wiring experiencing noise or something. Not one of the techs who came out said that. All comcast seems to suggest is replacing models, resetting or throwing technicians at the problem who can't even solve it. This customer service is abysmal. We are paying an outrageous amount of money to be having so many drops every hour, and to not receive the speed we are owed. My account is also not showing my new modem, it still displays the old modems mac address as current. I called comcast and they insist it's showing the new on their end, but my accounts page does not reflect that. Here is my downstream ndex12345678910111213141516Lock StatusLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedLockedFrequency663 MHz615 MHz621 MHz627 MHz633 MHz639 MHz645 MHz651 MHz657 MHz669 MHz675 MHz681 MHz687 MHz693 MHz699 MHz705 MHzSNR38.983 dB38.605 dB38.605 dB38.605 dB38.983 dB38.605 dB38.605 dB38.605 dB38.983 dB38.983 dB38.605 dB37.636 dB38.605 dB37.636 dB37.356 dB37.356 dBPower5.600 dBmV5.400 dBmV5.600 dBmV5.700 dBmV5.700 dBmV5.800 dBmV5.800 dBmV5.900 dBmV5.600 dBmV5.500 dBmV5.400 dBmV5.200 dBmV5.100 dBmV4.800 dBmV4.600 dBmV4.400 dBmVModulation256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM256 QAM   And my upstream Index1234Lock StatusLockedLockedLockedLockedFrequency14 MHz23 MHz29 MHz36 MHzSymbol Rate5120 KSym/sec5120 KSym/sec5120 KSym/sec5120 KSym/secPower Level48.250 dBmV48.250 dBmV50.250 dBmV50.750 dBmVModulation64 QAM64 QAM64 QAM64 QAMChannel ID4321 I have 0 correctable or uncorrectable codewords. My current modem/router's model number is - Cisco DPC3941T Is there anything wrong with these values, and if so what? • Drop-Down Hot Spot Images

    Hi,
When I generate a SSL Print out of topics that use Drop-down
Hot Spots with images in them, the images print out. I do not want
them to print out. I have tried the Advanced Options and unchecked
"Include drop-down text" and they still print.
If there isn't a easy way to stop them from printing, is
there a way to stop the text from getting messed up by wraping to
the right of the image, it would be better to have it start at the
    bottom.

You could try adding a conditional build tag against them and
excluding this from your printed output single source layout. I
haven't tried this so can't say it would work for definite but it's
    worth a go.

  • Loop drops when connected wireless (NI 9191)

    Hi,
I cannot figure out why a NI cDAQ 9191 chassis has connection drops when connected wireless and works
    perfectly when connected thru LAN.
I wrote a little test VI to check the connection accuracy. The chassis has a NI 9375 I/O module plugged in.
A Moxa AWK3121 is used as wireles access point. What I do is check 5 digital inputs and control 3 digital outputs.
The outputs are continuously placed on/off at a different rate. I use an event loop and a main loopt that communicates
to the chassis at a loop rate of 10ms.
The chassis, laptop and Moxa A.P. are all close together on my desk. The Wifi signal is excellent.
Now, the code i written is probably not optimal.
But...  If I start with connecting the chassis with a LAN cable to my laptop, Wifi Disabled, Linked Local. The communication is perfect.
No drops between the loops and the real time.
No communication errors. Runtime was 52 minutes.
Second test. Connected the chassis to the Moxa A.P. with LAN cable. Laptop connected wireless to the Moxa A.P.
Chassis still in Link Local. Ik can access the chassis in MAX. No problem.
When I run my test, I immediately see loop pauzes. After one minute there can be already a difference of 20 sec.
between calculated looptime and real time. Sometimes the active light on the chassis goes off and on.
When the active light is out, the loop is on hold. (Wich is normal as I assume the DAQ VI's are waiting for response.)
After appr.10 minutes the error -50405 "No Transfer in progress because transfer was aborted by client".
If I look at the timings there is already a difference of more then 5 minutes between the loop timing and the real time.
As last I tested with the chassis and the PC connected wireless to the Moxa A.P.
I did not get the -50405 error, but again loop drops. After 10 minutes there was a shift of 2 minutes.
Has anyone experience with wireless connections with the NI 9191 chassis?
Can I change my code? Did I mis something? (I'm a newbie to Labview)
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Frankie.

I am not clear on whether you are connecting the two together "in it's own little network" (which implies "router" and not "AP") or if you are connecting to the LAN through the wireless device (in which case it is entirely appropriate to refer to the wireelss device as an "AP").  Your last post about hot spots is what confused me.
But as you said, the biggest worry is the active light.  Try using a different router/AP.  I've seen routers overheat and reset themselves before due to inadequate heat sinking.  i.e., Someone (not me, I swear!) dropped the AP and knocked the heat sink off the chip.
As for the delay, if you are indeed using the Moxa as an AP, are you sure you're connecting to your AP?  If you're connected to a hotspot instead, your throughput will be at least halved - and maybe even 1/4 bandwidth if your AP happens to have connected to a different hotspot than you did.  If you are using it as a router, try differnt bands or channels to see if you can get around any interference your company wireless network might be generating.
In general, conclude that wireless isn't the best way to connect test devices together.

  • Frequent internet drops (T4 modem reboots, upstream issues)

We've been with Comast for about a year and a half -- from day one we've had lots of problems staying connected to the internet. We've tried a number of solutions to no avail. (replacing router, removing splitter, removing unnecessary cable splices, etc.)  After posting logs on some other forums, it seems we are experiencing some sort of upstream connectivity issue. Today the internet dropped about 10x in a span of 2-3 hours -- I looked at the modem status during this time and EVERY time the problem was the same -- T3 and T4 modem reboot errors and an inability to connect to upstream channels 46 and 47. It was these same two upstream channels EVERY time, which seemed odd. Here are a few snapshots of the logs and whatnot: Modem error log:http://tinypic.com/r/2ytxso5/8 Upstream channels 46 & 47 during T4 drops:http://tinypic.com/r/2d829f9/8 Overall modem signals (when modem is successfully connected):http://tinypic.com/r/2efsup5/8 From what I can tell, the signal strength is excellent. I'm guessing Comcast's first suggestion will be to "replace the modem." Keep in mind this has happened from day one when our modem was brand new -- as such, I really think there is something wrong with the actual physical line or something. From a frequency standpoint, this happens daily anywhere from every 10 minutes to every few hours (making things like online gaming literally impossible to do). At this point I think the only course of action is to have a tech come out and investigate this in-person. If anyone has any other suggestions let me know.

We had the same problem, up until about two weeks ago.  Our internet would keep dropping and the modem would re-cycle.  I do web design and run an eBay store, so this was incredibly frustrating.  It started only happening a few times here and there, but eventually it got to where it was down/re-cycling more often than not...at least it seemed to be. Comcast was good about sending a tech out right away to see what the problem was.  It was obvious it wasn't something that could be diagnosed and fixed over the phone support line. The technician came out and identified the same problem you are describing. Upstream connectivity issues. I don't remember all of the explanation, but we were unable to maintain a constant upstream connection.  After a few minutes of checking out our wiring, he discovered the problem.  During one of the last visits from a Comcast technician (we've had several problems over the years) they installed an 8-port splitter block to handle all of the cable outlets in our house. This was our problem.  The 8-way splitter caused the upstream signal to degrade and be unable to maintain the connection.  He took out the splitter block and replaced it with some sort of powered splitter (it looked expensive, but they didn't charge us for it).  This took care of the problem immediately and we haven't had any problems for the last couple of weeks. Our speeds also increased dramatically. If you have any splitters (especially more than say three or four ports) this could be your problem. 8-way's are definite no-nos.   At any rate, I would definitely have them come out and check out your problem.  It is more than likely a wiring issue.  I know how frustrating it is to experience the issues you are having.  The technician used his phone to somehow track down the problem.  The guy was really knowledgeable and explained things to me really well...I'm just too old to remember everything he said.  He was in and out in all of fifteen minutes.  At the end of everything, there was no charge for anything and our service has been wonderful ever since.

  • Data is dropped when I receive a phone call - Lumi...

Is it normal to get disconnected from mobile internet while you're on a call?  I was on 3G using Lumia 920 at the time it happened.  I was talking to someone and needed to look something up in the broswer but was surprised I could not.
Is there a way to do it?

On some network carrier/service provider its normal for data to be dropped when on phone call. But I suggest you confirm it with your service provider too.
On 2G GPRS, I guess its called DTM which allows both voice and data to work simultaneously. But speed may drop when on call. On 3G, it allows only IM and emails to work simultenously when on phone call. Its service providers limitations.
Also provide name of service provider and country name here, so that people using same network might help you.
