Internet Explorer 10 Developer Tools F12
I have managed to set the Browser Mode to IE 10 Compatibility View in the registry.
How do i do the same to set Document Mode to IE 5 quirks in the registry as well?
Note: I want this to be the default for IE 10, it's not for a specific application.

Why do you want to make IE11 behave like IE10 (rendering and scripting engines).
there are no registry settings to make your IE11 webbrowser always use IE10 emulation. Website compatibility is maintained by lists of domains.
If you want to test your website for backward compatibility with IE10 go to
http://modern.ie to choose an emulation method. (VM, web service).
Uninstall IE11 from programs and features (installed updates) to revert back to the previously installed version.
Post general questions about IE to http://answers.microsoft.com (Help>Online support menu). Include with your questions the full address of any websites you are having problems with.
The first step in troubleshooting web browser issues is to test in noAddons mode.

Performance issue with internet explorer 11 on tools 8.53.13
We are on Peoplesoft application 9.1 with tools 8.53.13, the end users are on Windows 7.
Almost all the instances are having issues at first login, it spins indefinitely and when users goes back and refreshes the browser a couple of times some users will be lucky to get through the login screen while others continue to have the same issue. Swing Applet - Internet Explorer - Focus issue - tool tips
Hi ,
We are using Swing applet in IE Browser , except this swing component rest of the components in the browser are HTML/DHTML components.
and we are having issue focus issue with this swing components ,
once immediately after launching the swing applet , the UI components are having some focus issue , if I bring the mouse on top of the swing UI components , we couldn't able to see the tooltips(flyover text) of those Swing UI components.
However if we click some where on the Swing applet frame , we are able to see these tooltips(flyover text) .
It looks like a kind of compatibility issue between swing and IE browser .
I am trying to find a solution for this issue , so that once after launching the applet , tooltips will work without need to click on the applet bar.
Can somebody share some thoughts on this issue??

Bonthu.As a wild guess you are mixing Swing and awt components which is a big no-no and among other things can cause repainting, refreshing issues.

IE11 browser difference between "Default" and "Internet Explorer 11" user agent string
I installed IE11 in my machine .And also we migrating all our developed application (ASP .Net/ VS 2010) to work in IE11 .
But when i open (Developer tool (F12) -> Emulation) In that ,
While selecting "User agent string" i two different option
Default
Internet Explorer 11
Actually what difference between this two user agent string and too i am working in .Net
And i select "IE11" as a user agent option , most of my application working flawless (design) but if i select "Default" throwing lot of design oriented bugs.
Is there setting to be made in .Net framework or anything else

yes I understand the problem and I answered it last weak already for a Reports output related question. You can't change this in IE if not wantigt o remove it for all IE usages. (View--> Toolbars). If you only want to remove it for the Forms session then you need to start Forms from a Javascript link using window.open().

Have you tried restoring your Inernet Explorer? Ooen open your internet Explorer click on tools tab and then click on Internet Options click on delete let it delete ever thing. This will delete temporary files. After that click on Advance tab and then click on reset. Close it out and then reopen it. Now goto Tools- tab then click managed add on in that list that appears enable the adobe software listed your anti virus software, Your printer if you use it on line Microsoft tool bars. I dissabled the search helpers because I personly don't want extra trash appairing on my screen. Also enable the replayer if you use it. I dissable all the the rest of toolbars you do not have to. I disable them because Because bing is safer. Now try Microsoft Office it should work now. Intetnet Explorer setting have been reset now. -

Web Reports should open in new Internet Explorer Window
Hello Gurus,
When I execute my bw reports in web, it utilizes the existing IE (internet explorer) window. Is there I can control and specify a new window..

in Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options
Advanced tab and un-tick "Reuse Window when launching shortcut"

QuickTime 7.7.1, Windows Vista, Internet Explorer, and .mpg files
After updating QuickTime to 7.7.1, QuickTime runs whenever I click on a .mpg file in Internet Explorer, under Windows Vista.
The last time this happened I had to go into QuickTime>Edit>Preferences>QuickTime Preferences>Browser>Mime Settings and uncheck the MIME association to .mpg files.
This time with QuickTime 7.7.1, clicking on MIME Settings just opens up Windows Default Programs association window, not the Quicktime MIME associations. .mpg is unchecked, and Windows Media Player is associated with .mpg. All file types that are checked for QuickTime are grayed out, and cannot be unchecked.
Any ideas?Solution found:
After making sure Windows Media Player is the default player in Windows Default Programs for file types .mp3 and .mpg, open Internet Explorer, click on Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Set Programs>Set program access and computer defaults>Custom>Choose a default media player: Then click on Windows Media Player radio button.
In Customs, you have to either click on the word Customs or click on the down arrows to the far right of Customs to expand the choices, and find "Choose a default media player:"
You will also have to be logged in as Administrator or have the Admin password to reset this choice. -

I had installed Internet Explorer 11 a few days ago and I keep getting a PRIVACY REPORT pop up on most of the web pages I navigate to.
How can I stop this annoying window from popping up?

It would be kind of you to capture a screenshot for further research.
Based on my knowledge, it might be one of your add-ons that causing this, open Internet Explorer and in tools->Manage Add-ons , check your add-ons and disable ones that you might not need or associate with this message.
You could uninstall any unwanted add-ons from programs and features in control panel.

What do i need to do to get my internet explorer to respond
I went to Best Buy today cause my internet explorer wasn't responding she said on we just needed to set one button and it worked for her. When I got back home it is doing the same thing it was doing there.
there are two options you need to try.
1. reset internet explorer
Go to Tools
Click Advanced
Click Reset button at the bottom.
Confirm Reset.
Launch Internet Explorer and check if it works.
2. MSCONFIG Startup Disable
Open startmenu
in the search field type MSCONFIG
open system configuration.
go to startup tab and disable all the startup programs.
restart the computer and check the Internet Explorer -
Where is "Tools Resize" feature in Internet Explorer 11 (F12 Developer Tools)?

In previous versions of the F12 Developer Tools for Internet Explorer, I could easily resize the browser window to a specific size (e.g. 1024x768).

you can create full resolution screen shots and scale them in your web pages by using only the width rule of 100% to the containing block element.

I use ifranview to capture screen shots and resize and compress the image to my requirements.
If latency or client screen size is an issue I will create two images... a thumbnail and a full screen image and use the design pattern above to link to the full resolution image in a new window.
or for HTML5/CSS 3 aware browsers use the CSS flexGrid with media queries.
