  • The new tab button no longer does anything in 15.0.1.

    Since installing the latest version of Firefox, the "New Tab" tab (with the plus sign) no longer does anything. How do I fix this bug?

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

  • I cannot open a new tab any way..by clicking the new tab button on tab-bar, or ctrl/T, or File/New Tab, or clicking on link on current page.

    On Windows7 Premium Home Edition, I cannot get a new tab to open no matter what I try. On occasion, if I click on a link on the current page, a second tab will open, but 99% of the time I am stuck using the first tab for everything and using the back button. I have tried ctrl/T, File/New Tab, right mouse click/New Tab, and the new tab button on the tab bar to the right of the current tab.

    Uninstall the '''''Ask Toolbar'''''. It can cause that problem.

  • Firefox is not letting me open another tab when I click the 'new tab' button. It says 'done' in the corner, but never opens a new tab.

    Firefox is not letting me open another tab when I click the button or the 'new tab' in file. I have restarted my computer, installed an update, and I still have the same problem browsing.

    In past threads, this problem has been linked with the Ask toolbar.

  • When I attempt to open a new tab by clicking the "new tab" button on the tabs bar, the tab will not open. Can this be fixed and how?

    When I open my Firefox browser, the normal 1 tab comes up. But when I attempt to open new tabs with the "new tabs" button, a new tab will not open. I have also tried right-clicking on the tabs toolbar but tabs will not open. The only way I can get a new tab to open is by right-clicking on a link and selecting the "open new tab" option in the right-click menu.

    The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13 version. Disable that extension or un-install it.

  • In FF 7.0.1, the New Tab button on the Tab Strip disappeared after clicking the Tab Group icon and trying to return, so I'm looking for advice on how to get the New Tab to reappear on the Tab Strip.

    In Windows Vista, FF 7.0.1, I selected the Tab Group button to try it out. However, when I selected the Tab Group button again to close that view, the New Tab button in the Tab Strip no longer appears. I'm requesting help to restore the New Tab button (has the "+" sign on it) on the Tab Strip just to the right of the currently open tabs.

    You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.
    You can open the Customize window and drag the New Tab button that shows as a plus sign (+) from the Tab bar on another toolbar and it will become a regular toolbar button like the New Tab button that you have in Firefox 3 versions.<br />
    Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
    If you can't find the New Tab button then click the "Restore Default Set" button in the Customize window.
    If you want the New Tab button at the far right end of the Tab bar then place a flexible space to the left of it.

  • Just today, I cannot open a new tab - by clicking on the new tab button, or pressing CTRL+T. Help!

    I always use this feature and love it! I've gone thru the trouble-shooting guide, checked my plug-ins, cleared my cache and cookies, restarted my computer - and still no new tabs! The only way I can get a new tab is to click on HELP, FIREFOX HELP, and then use the new tab that opens.
    Is something wrong with Firefox?

  • I have installed Firefox 4 but the "New Tab" button has disappeared. I have searched toolbars etc. but can't see it. Any ideas, please?

    My "New Tab" button has disappeared off the toolbar. I have searched the toolbar menus and "Customise Toolbar" but it's just not there. Back, Forward, Stop and Reload buttons are all there.

  • Where is the New Tab Button in 4.01?

    The New Tab Button beside the Current Tab is missing on my desktop computer but is present on my laptop. Both are using 4.01. I found a New Tab Button in the Customize Toolbar Menu and put it on the Navigation Bar on my desktop but don't like it. Why is it missing? How do I get it back?

    You can drag that new tab button on the tab bar to get the plus sign or click the Restore Default Set button.
    Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"

  • Why was the "new tab" button option removed from the "customize toolbar" set?

    Back in 3.x and older I was able to place a "open new window" button, and an "open new tab" button on the bookmarks toolbar. This worked well for me. Now with 4, the "open new tab" is unavailable, and you can only open a new tab using the default button right next to your already open tabs.
    Any chance of that open new tab button coming back? I'd rather use that (what I am used to) than the new one.
    They're called options, stop removing them.

    You can find the New Tab button showing as a '+' on the Tab bar.<br />

  • Change the new tab button image

    I'm trying to change the PNG of the new tab button.
    I've tried
    .tabs-newtab-button {
    list-style-image: url ("C:\Users\Zevoxa\Downloads\newtab.png") !important;
    But that doesn't work, why?
    I'm using Stylish to do this.

    Best would be to place this icon in the same chrome folder with the userChrome.css file or use the URL as shown when you drag this image in a Firefox tab (New Tab > Open File).
    Note that there are two new tab toolbar buttons and .tabs-newtab-button is only used when you haven't opened enough tabs to make scroll buttons appear.
    You also need to add a -moz-image-region rule if you only use a button with one state.
    *chrome://browser/skin/browser.css
    <pre><nowiki>#new-tab-button,
    .tabs-newtab-button {
    list-style-image: url ("file:///c:/Users/Zevoxa/Downloads/newtab.png") !important;
    -moz-image-region: auto !important;
    </nowiki></pre>

    New Tab Button can't be found.

  • Since latest update, every time I start up Firefox the "New Tab" button is gone and I need to re-add it from the "customise toolbar" menu.

    I don't know if my settings are not being remembered or what, but the New Tab button is missing each time I open up Firefox.

    Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
