Internet Explorer 11 Opens new tabs every time I click a link

Recently I switch to using Internet Explorer 11 on my Asus T100LA. My issue is that every time I click on a link the window opens in a new tab instead of replacing the current tab. This is very frustrating when searching and navigating web pages since
it forces me to constantly click and close every tab that I don't need any more.

I'm sorry to hear that you are facing issues with your Firefox settings.
Damn leprechauns are everywhere!
It seems like the damage isn't too big and we should be able to fix it easily...
Simply reset your profile settings (delete and create new) by following the intructions in the managing profiles support article and perhaps clear your cache. This should normally and hopefully set you up!

• Google opens new tab every time I search something

Every time I google something, in addition to getting the search result in the tab I was currently using, https://www.google.se/blank.html opens in another tab and the focus changes to the new tab. This is getting really f-ing annoying. It's annoying enough that the new tab opens, but what really frustrates me most is that it has to focus the new tab every freaking time, even tho I have "When I open a new link in new tab Switch to it automatically" (Tools > Options > Tab) unchecked. Please help before I break something expensive!

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
* You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
* Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshooting extensions and themes article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.

• How can I stop Mozilla and some extensions from opening new tabs every time I open firefox, even with no updates?

I'm using Firefox 9.0.1 on a Windows 7 laptop. Since upgrading to 9.0 and then 9.0.1 Mozilla and Speed Dial open new tabs as if they've been updated, even though there has been no update. Colorful tabs 8.0 did it as well, but I disabled it.

Do you have BitDefender (2010 e.g.) with its toolbar? If yes, remove it because the BD toolbar is known to be buggy and cause this issue (add-on compatibility check at each Firefox start).
And report here the BD toolbar version you have.

• Firefox opens a new window every time I click a link. I reset FF and it did not fix the problem.

When I click on any link, the browser opens a new window. I have searched the browser options to fix this and have not found a place to select a different option. I have reset Firefox and checked all of my plugins and have not found anything that seem to be related to my problem. Sometimes, Firefox will work normally for the first few minutes of use and then start opening a window for everything.
By normally, I mean that I click a link and it opens the link in the same tab that I'm browsing. Some links will open in a new tab, depending on the type of link. Mostly, they open in new windows no matter what.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

• Open new tab from any webpage, click any link on new tab, waits till the page is loaded and try to go back one page on new tab (arrow is disabled).

It happens whenever I open new tab from any wabpage. Once the tab is opened and initial webpage is loaded I may use any link to jump on another, second webpage in same tab. However, if I want to go back on initial webpage I can't do it cause that option (arrow) is disabled. I could use link on second webpage to jump on third, and only at that moment go back option becomes available again. However, I could not ever go back on initial webpage any more. As initial webpage has never existed.
It happens quite often (95%).

Right click the Back button and select the page you want to go back to from the list.
If the list is too long to display via the Back button, hit CTRL+H, change the view to "Last Visited" and then load it from there instead.

• Is it possible to configure Firefox for Android so it doesn;t open a new tab every time a new url is sent to the browser?

We are using a web based service to register people's mood when they touch an NFC card against the tablet. Every time someone taps their card against it, it open up a new tab, and they then register the mood they are in.
We recently got to a situation where we had 150 tabs open which gives us concerns that at some point the tablet could just slow to a crawl or fall over.
The tablet is unmanned and so closing the tabs after every entry manually is not an option either.
Ideally we would like the browser not to open a new tab every time. Is this possible?
Thanks a lot

You should ask this on https://mail.mozilla.org/listinfo/mobile-firefox-dev instead of a end user forum. It may require building a custom APK of Firefox.

Firefox is coded to open new tabs in a blank page. That may change in Firefox 4. I don't know.
In the meantime, there is an add-on called Tab Mix Plus that I think provides that option. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1122/

• I can't get Firefox to open a new tab each time I click on a link or favorite. It keeps loading onto the current tab.

I went to Tools>Options>Tabs and entered a check mark next to the first entry, "Open New Windows in a New Tab Instead" but it still does not open a new tab each time I click on a link or one of my favorites. It used to way back in earlier versions of Firefox but hasn't for the past few iterations...am I doing something wrong or do I need to activate something else within Firefox?

"I went to Tools>Options>Tabs and entered a check mark next to the first entry, "Open New Windows in a New Tab Instead" but it still does not open a new tab each time I click on a link or one of my favorites."
That option only controls pages that would open in a new window based on the code on the website page you are visiting.
Firefox's default is to open a link or a Bookmark in the currently selected tab.
You have some options to have links and/or Bookmarks open in a new tab:
*middle-click the link or Bookmark (middle-click = press the mouse scroll wheel)
*CTRL+left-click the link or Bookmark
*right-click the link or Bookmark and choose "Open in New Tab"
*install one of the following and set the options to automatically open links or Bookmarks in a new tab:

**Tab Utilities (a few more options than the "Lite" version): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-utilities/
**Tab Mix Plus (a heavyweight tab utility extension): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/tab-mix-plus/

• Does not open new tab each time

I want to create a new tab each time I click on a link. I always have to click on new tab and sometimes it still doesn't create a new one just opens it in the same tab.

You can middle-click normal links or press and hold Ctrl and left-click a link to open the link in a new tab. Links that do not specify a target window are always opened in the current tab.
