Internet Explorer 11 PDF Add-on?
From Windows 8.1 64-bit, running IE11, we need to convert web pages open in browser to PDF. This is without a current Adobe Acrobat version installed, assuming user does not have standalone Acrobat software.
Cannot find IE Gallery link anywhere in IE11 menu! Google and Bing are both IE11 grief floods. Chrome has half a dozen pdf conversion tools with a single click. IE Gallery only has an
outdated 2009 msi extension for Acrobat, from Nitro. Nitro's Acrobat add-on is not compatible with IE11.
This topic elicited only lame responses in answers.microsoft, so it is brought here for a more development savvy response.
Kindly note that the missing PDF functionality may be related to much larger security (piracy?) concerns. Please share any PDF solutions for IE11 that you may find. Thank you, and TIA.

Hi,
For converting a webpage to PDF file, you may download and install the Acrobat.
http://www.adobe.com/downloads.html?promoid=KAWQL
As I known, Acrobat installs an Adobe PDF toolbar in Internet Explorer (version 7.0 or later). Using the commands on this toolbar, you can convert the currently displayed web page to PDF in various ways. For example, you can convert the entire web page or
selected areas of it. Or, you can create a PDF or append the converted web page to an existing PDF. The toolbar has additional commands that initiate further actions after conversion, such as attaching the new PDF to a new email message or printing it.
For your reference:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/X/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7f60.w.html
Please understand that "Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file" icon is not installed as Adobe Acrobat 8 and 9 do not support Internet Explorer 64 bit.
You may revert to Internet Explorer 32-bit for a test.
In order to revert to Internet Explorer 32-bit version close Internet Explorer 64-bit browser version and open Internet Explorer by launching it from the following default locations: the
Quick Launch toolbar, the desktop shortcut, the icon on the Start menu, a hyperlink or a file type that is associated with Internet Explorer.
Additional Information
Under specific circumstances, the context menu with "Convert to Adobe PDF" displays in Internet Explorer bit, but when you select, it does not function.
The context menu will only display if:
You are running a Windows 64-bit operating system, with both Internet Explorer32-bit and Internet Explorer 64-bit present, and Adobe Acrobat is installed.
You launch Internet Explorer 32-bit first which writes the registry entries for context menus from the Acrobat IE Favorite add-in, and then you launch Internet Explorer64-bit which finds
the registry entries made from the Internet Explorer32-bit entries.

I have followed below links to add context menu item but it does not display as IE Add-on in the Manage Add-Ons window.

Please provide any sample which describes the add-on creation and installation(Deployment on IE 11) using C#/Javascript
Appreciate your help.
Many Thanks
Himanshu BhargavDo you mean your add-on works well but don't display as IE Add-on in the Manage Add-Ons window?
Add-on usually is a BHO or ActiveX control as a dll file. if your add-on has been registered in the registry, IE should be able to find it and display it in add-on managed window.

IE 10 Windows 7 64 Bit: Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) does not run
Many of our Windows 7 laptops started having IE crashes dues to:
Description:
Faulting application name: IEXPLORE.EXE, version: 10.0.9200.17088, time stamp: 0x53eedc10
Faulting module name: urlmon.dll, version: 10.0.9200.17088, time stamp: 0x53eedc44

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE
Faulting module path: C:\windows\syswow64\urlmon.dll
To troubleshoot, we have tried resetting IE 10 using Internet Options and rebooting. Does not reliably fix this and even when it occasionally does, it is not a permanent fix.
I have also tried running Internet Explorer using the shortcut for Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
When I click on the shortcut, there is an an hourglass for a second or two and then it just goes away. The no add-ons mode never works and doesn't show an error. It just does nothing.
iexplore.exe -extoff does not work or do anything
iexplorer.exe runs
iexplore -nohome runs
How can we find the cause?Faulting module name: urlmon.dll, version: 10.0.9200.17088
Faulting module path: C:\windows\syswow64\urlmon.dll
That's actually a crash in a 32-bit tab task. A Stack Back Trace may give more clues. (Once provided by drwsn32.log; now required to be extracted from a dump of the crashing thread.)
iexplore.exe -extoff does not work or do anything
iexplore -nohome runs
Try combining them. If they both work together, this may be saying something about your Home page. Then you may want to try changing that, e.g. try about:blank so you don't go near the TIF. OR just try Run... (e.g. press
Win-R and enter:)
iexplore.exe -nohome -extoff about:blank
Good luck

Adobe Reader XI, Internet Explorer missing Add-On
hi all,
we have download and install the MSI from Adobe Reader XI. But now we have no Adobe Reader under Add-Ons. We close IE restart IE, show all Add-ons - no result.
If we go to www.adobe.com - download - adobe reader http://get.adobe.com/de/reader/ - uncheck for yes install chrome, then we see the Adobe Reader Add-On under IE? whyI have encountered the same problem using Windows 7 64-bit - I could find no Adobe Reader plugin anywhere in Internet Explorer's list of add-ons.
Then I remembered that my laptop defaults to using 64-bit IE, but there is also a 32-bit version of IE under C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer. In the 32-bit version of IE the add-on "Adobe PDF Reader" is listed and also enabled on my laptop.
So my solution is to use the 32-bit version of IE when I want Adobe Reader to function within the browser.

External PDF links in Internet Explorer - PDF/A issue?
Hi,
I am having an issue with certain links within PDFs not working when the PDF is being viewed with IE. I have created external PDF links using the Go to a Page View linking feature within Acrobat and then opening an external PDF file and setting the link. The extrernal links work fine when viewing the PDFs within Acrobat, however when I view the PDFs within IE the external links do not work. I am running Acrobat 9.3 and IE 8.
I know there is an issue with PDF/A disabling external PDF links, is it possible that IE always displays PDFs in PDF/A mode, even though I have set PDF/A View Mode to never within Acrobat? Also, I do not remember this being an issue in earlier releases of Acrobat 9, however I am supporting a large group of people that have already updated to Acrobat 9.3 and would hate to have to roll them back. Any ideas as to a possible solution would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Acrobat Add-On Not in Internet Explorer
If I go to Manage Add-Ons in IE (version 9 currently), There is no Adobe PDF Add-On under "Show->All add-ons". I have uninstalled, used the Adobe cleaner, re-installed, and it's still not there. Any ideas how to fix?
I think this is less about the JRE and more about the browser and its settings. Refer to the Microsoft documentation for more information about how, why, and when the info bar will appear. Here is one example:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Internet-Explorer-Information-bar-frequently-asked-questions
Refer to the section that is titled +"When will I see the Information bar?"+ Here are some relevant points from that section which explain when the bar will appear:
<blockquote>•If a website tries to install an ActiveX control on your computer or run an ActiveX control in an unsafe manner.
•If you started Internet Explorer with add-ons disabled.
•If you need to install an updated ActiveX control or add-on program.</blockquote>
Here are more granular details about how the info bar works:

Message was edited by: base1fanHi,
It may be that you will need to 'reset' Internet Explorer, but you can certainly check if this issue is being caused by an add-on as follows.
Click the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, open System Tools and click on 'Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)'. See if Internet Explorer now runs correctly.
Let me know.

How to install and use Flash Player with Windows 7 64-bit edition and Internet Explorer 8.
1. Click the Start button.
2. Search for Internet Explorer.
3. Do not click on "Internet Explorer (64-bit)" or "Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
4. Click on "Internet Explorer."
5. That will open Internet Explorer 8, 32-bit edition.
6. Now you can download, install, and use Flash Player. (It is used automatically on websites that support it.)
7. In the future, make sure you don't use Internet Explorer 64-bit edition. Delete any Internet Explorer shortcut icons that you were formally using. Make sure that any Internet Explorer icons that you now use, are opening the 32-bit edition. To see what edition you are using, click the question mark near the upper-right corner of a webpage and click "About Internet Explorer." If you don't see "64-bit" on the popup, that means you are using the 32-bit edition. If you can not see the moving sphere: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html

Quicktime grabs Vista file associations in Internet Explorer (TIFF etc.)
Hi all,
I have a problem with Quicktime 7.6 and Internet Explorer 8 on Windows Vista - maybe someone here knows a fix? I've tried everything I could think of ... to no avail... Many thanks in advance for any hints!
Trouble is:
After installing iTunes 8.1.1 including QuickTime, whenever opening a TIF image in Internet Explorer 8, QuickTime will display it. I don't want that, I need to set a different application to open TIF files or to have Internet Explorer ask me whether I want the file displayed or download it.
This is extremely annoying, since our HTTP scan server (HP) sends its files as TIF directly to the browser, so there is now link to the file to right-click on and chose "save as". Before installing iTunes/QuickTime, Internet Explorer asked me where I wanted to have the file saved - now it just displays the image using the QuickTime plugin and I can't save it anymore.
I tried to right-click the image in the QuickTime display, it tells me I would need to buy QT Pro to save a copy.
I opened QuickTime's options and disabled TIF and TIFF both in file types and in MIME types.
Result: nothing; still IE8 displays TIF with QuickTime.
I right-clicked on a TIF file on the harddisk, chose properties and changed the program with which to open the file (first Acrobat, than tried Windows image viewer, then Photoshop...).
Result: nothing; still IE8 displays TIF with QuickTime. (When I open a TIF from a folder on the harddisk, Vista opens it in the program I specified - but any TIF within IE8 is still displayed with QuickTime).
I opened Vista's control panel and set the standards for file type TIF/TIFF to a different programm.
Result: no change, within IE8 any TIF image is still displayed using the QT plugin.
I used Internet Explorer's Add-On settings to disable the QuickTime plugin.
Result: any TIF image is displayed as a red X, it doesn't ask me what to do with it or where to save it.
What can I do?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance!
Best wishes
FrankI used this link for tiff http://www.nrl.navy.mil/content.php?P=IMAGES
QT was opening the tiff files. When going into the QT control panel Browser>Mime settings>Images-Still image files I was able to uncheck tiff, which held. I was also able to uncheck all the file types under File Types tab(Images-Still image files) in the QT control panel. However the preference would not hold. Went into Start>Set Program Access and Defaults that also was of no help.
The only way I was able to get QT to release the tiff's from the website I posted was to go into the Folder Options control panel for File Types and change the tif & tiff from QT picture viewer to windows picture and fax viewer.
So not sure why the QT control panel will not respond, there are other file types in the Folder options control panel on this computer other than tiff's that are still associated to QT, but didn't try changing them, perhaps that needs to be done?
Good post I didn't realize this before reading your post, if I come across anything further I'll post back. -
Launching Excel Template from BPF Closing Internet Explorer

I am using a BPF and when trying to launch a BPC Excel template from
Internet Explorer rather than opening the Excel template it is
immediately closing down Internet Explorer.
I am using:

A second user in the organization is having the same problem using:
BPC Netweaver 7.5 SP7 Fixpack1

Windows XP
There is a consultant working with us who is NOT having the problem
using:
BPC Netweaver 7.5 SP7
Internet Explorer version 9.0.3
Windows 7
We have explored all options around BPC security and alignment of BPC
versions on our server and machines. Could there possibly be a
security setting in our corporate internet explorer set up that is
causing this conflict? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, KevinHi,
In a MDB file, the data are stored as continuous pages with a fixed size. The first page, called database definition page, contains the most important definitions of the database. If the page structure in the MDB file is damaged, for example, several bytes
in the head of the file are lost permanently, Access will not be able to recognize the pages in the file and will report this error. If the database definition page or other important data is damaged, then Access cannot recognize the database format and will
report the error, too.
In a word, as long as Microsoft Access cannot recognize the MDB file as a valid Access database, it will report this error.
You may check if the file is corrupted or used by other user. If yes, please make sure no usres are using the file and do a repair to the database.
I also suspect the file you opened is not load completely.
You may try the following steps to see the result:
1. Clear your browser's cache.
2. I supect this issue is related to permission, you may run IE as administrator for a test.
3. Ensure that the Internet Explorer security settings are not set to high.
4. May be one of your add-ons that causing this. Manage add-ons in Internet Explorer:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/manage-add-ons#ie=ie-10-win-7
5. You could add these addresses to the browser's list of Trusted sites.
Also temporary disable or uninstall the security software such as anti-virus software to see if the issue occurs.
Hope it helps.

Internet Explorer refuses to navigate
Since the mid-august Windows update, I have a really strange problem with IE: most of time, it refuses to navigate from a site to another, and on some sites (eg. bing.com) it refuses to navigate inside the site itself.
Funny fact: if I opened an add-on panel which I wrote and does not interfare with navigation, then IE accepts to navigate, as long as the target is in the same page.
If I try to open a page in another tab or another window, it never works.
In all cases, it marks the hyperlink as navigated.
Finally, if I copy the shortcut and enter it in the address bar, it works perfectly.
I have already tried to uninstall/reinstall IE, use another account on the same machine, it does not change anything.
Configuration=Windows 8.1, 100% up to date
Thanks !Hi,
Please check the settings below:
Method 1: Check your default web browser setting
Method 2: Change the file types that Internet Explorer opens by default
Method 3: Use the Internet Explorer No Add-ons mode
Method 4: Reset Internet Explorer settings
Method 5: Reregister the necessary Internet Explorer DLL files

Internet Explorer 11 doesn't allow downloads and intermittantly crashes when I try.
Hello,
I have Windows 7, 32 bit on a Dell laptop with 4Gb of RAM. I've been primarily an IE user all along but I am now using Chrome and Firefox due to problems with IE 10 and 11. Around the first of the year IE stopped letting me download anything
and sometimes crashes after the download bar says "filename could not be downloaded". I have googled my fingers off and tried every remedy suggested, up to and including booting in safe mode with networking and running IE with no add-ons.
My only assumption is that one of the MS updates is the underlying cause as I haven't made any hardware or software changes. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Below is the text of one of the crashes from the technical details of the

TIAHi Mikem,
This is typically due to incompatible add-ons or toolbars or an incompatible display adapter. Internet Explorer uses the graphics chipset for hardware acceleration and these issues might happen due to an older and/or incompatible driver.
Since you mentioned that you have tested under safe mode with no add-ons mode, we wonder if the problem still persists under safe mode. And when Internet Explorer not crash, did you get any message, error or the download just prompt won’t popup.
We suggest you remove all third party add-ons and temporarily stop Anti-Spyware, update your display driver then reset Internet Explorer Settings for good measure.
If resetting IE or removing Add-ons does not resolve the issue for you then it could be a compatibility issue with the Graphics card.
Under Internet Options, click the advanced tab. Under 'Accelerated Graphics', click on the checkbox next to 'Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering*'. Ensuring that it is checked, click on OK. Close Internet options.

Export to Excel Fails with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
We have a couple of report servers all hosted internally on VMs. They are all SSRS 2008 R2.
For all of these, when viewing the reports remotely in IE, they run fine. However when we try to export them to excel, a new tab opens in IE, but the tab just displays with "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"
There are no other errors and it never progresses to save or open.
THE SSRS log files dont contain any errors either so i dont think its a resource issue, but they do say steam=''

Windows 7 Internet Explorer doesn't open (no error shown)
With the latest set of updates, around 4-5 days ago, a new problem developed which I haven't seen discussed anywhere. Internet explorer doesn't load up when I click on it's icon. The hard disk clunks but no explorer window appears. No error is displayed. Very odd. Very occasionally it does load up, perhaps once a day, but then stops loading again after a few minutes. Anybody got an idea what's happening?

Please take the following steps to have a troubleshoot.
Step1:
I agree with
doh515.Open the Internet Explorer without add-ons to have a check. If the issue is gone ,you can try to enable the add-ons one by one or use dichotomy to find out the culprit by managing the add-ons.
To open the Internet Explorer without add-ons :run “iexplore.exe -extoff” .
To manage the add-ons :Tools\manage add-ons
Step2:
If the #1 won`t work ,check this settings “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering” in this path Tools\Internet Options\Advanced\ Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering
Step3:
If the issue persists, reset the Internet Explorer and you will get an original settings of it .
Please ensure you have got all the latest updates.
Best regards
