Internet Explorer 11 slow response on Windows 7 x64 virtual machine

I have a number of virtual machines running Windows 7 64bit on my network.
They are set up on a server running VMWare ESXi 5.1.0. Their users access them from Windows 7 desktops via Remote Desktop.
The overall performance of the Virtual Machines is fine, except when browsing the web using Internet explorer 11. (Firefox and Chrome are better, but not by much).
The user experiences uneven scrolling (looks like low FPS), delayed responses to input, new tabs take 1~2 seconds to open and closing the browser sometimes takes a few seconds after you click the 'X'. Firefox also experiences the uneven scrolling and delay
in opening new tabs, Chrome just has the uneven scrolling.
None of these issues occur when viewing the virtual machine through the VMware vSphere console.
This is a fresh install of both the operating system and browsers (installed on 2013-11-22). Everything is up-to-date and all browsers still have their default settings.
Running browser benchmark tests like Peacekeeper (http://peacekeeper.futuremark.com/) shows a notable difference in performance between browsers running natively on a desktop, through the vSphere console and through RDP.
Does anyone know what could be causing this and/or how it could be remedied?

Hi,
To speed up RDP connection, please select High Color (16 bit) under Colors, and under Experience tab, select Modem (56 Kbps).
To make IE fast, safe and stable, please attempt to run this fixit below:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/ie_performance_and_safety
Also, you can use UI responsiveness tool to dig into what is happening in F12 developer tool in IE11.
Thanks!

    Question
I imported all my favorites from Internet Explorer, but in the Firefox window I don't see a favorites tab. I've got a bunch of favorites that I don't want to have to redo. Any advice?

You can usually find the imported IE Favorites in a folder ("From Internet Explorer") at the bottom of the Bookmarks Menu folder (Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks).
If you have problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.<br />
That way you also preserve any sorting that you may have done in IE with the Favorites.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • How is the performance of Mac Pro if i use it as host for windows and linux virtual machines.

How is the performance of Mac Pro if i use it as host for windows and linux virtual machines.
I am planning to buy a high performance PC to run my Windows and Linux servers as vitrual machines for my testing purposes.
Initially i planned to build my own computer with recommended configurations but considering space constaints and cooling factors i think Mac Pro can be a choice. But need some inputs if Mac pro (Intel Xeon E5, 12 GB RAM) is good for running virtual Machines.

You could even run Windows natively and still run your VM servers.
I have seen reports and such on MacRumors and elsewhere - run Windows natively as well as VMs (can also do testing and run Mavericks in a VM under Mavericks)
The fast internal PCIe-SSD, plus 6 or 8 cores, and 32-64GB RAM. Of course for $5,000 for 8-core, some Thunderbolt storage and 32GB/64GB RAM you can buy some serious hardware.

    Window 7 Ultimate SP1. Internet Explorer 11 Version 11.0.9600.17420
    Adobe Acrobat Reader X
    Adobe Acrobat Pro X
Since updating to IE11 pdf's are either extremely slow (twenty minutes at least)  loading or will not load just getting the blue circle.
If it does load, any instructions thereafter are again either slow or a no go such as navigation or save.
    Can anyone help?
    Thank You

    Hi Mugelbbub,
Are you still facing this issue?
What is the current  updated version of Acrobat X and Reader X installed on your machine.
Where are those PDF located are they hosted on some website?
Is this issue reproducible with different browser like Google chrome or Mozilla Firefox?

  • Internet Explorer 11 and Flash on Windows Server 2012 R2

I used Windows Server 2012 R2 which has built within it Internet Explorer version 11.  When loading a web site which has Flash content it prompts me to install Flash, but when I navigate to the Flash download site it says I must enable it because it is already installed.
After reviewing the  directions for How to Enable Flash, the directions become worthless because they don't match the screen that I see.
    QUESTIONS:
Does IE Version 11 have Flash built in or not?
If if does, how do I enable Flash?
If it doesn't, how do I install Flash?
Please don't tell me to load a media-rich web site, and go to "Manage Add-Ons" and enable Flash because the enable Flash command doesn't show up.

    Repair IE? http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318378
The thing is... Adobe collaborates with MS on the updates for IE10 &11 in Win8 &8.1 (server 2012 also AFAIK) and then hands the code off to them. It's "Redmond's baby" after that. There's a KB in Windows updates (KB2898108) that prevents downloading the ActiveX plugin throug Adobe updater from here. Even if you manually download it, it'll prevent you from installing it. I have a Win 8 and Win 8.1 test machine set up and I've tried to uninstall the KB with no success.
Unfortunately I don't have a Server 2012 machine so it limits my troubleshooting. Chris Campbell has more insight into the ins and outs of Server 2012. Hopefully he'll add to this thread.

  • Internet Explorer very slow to display with JRE 1.5.0_7 and above

We're running Windows 2000 Server (SP4) with Terminal Services enabled in Application Server mode. We typically have 20+ concurrent users logged on to a server. Since JRE 1.5.0_7, we've had issues with Internet Explorer taking upwards of 15 seconds to display even though Iexplore.exe appears in Task Manager almost immediately. If we uninstall JRE 1.5.0_7 and use 1.4.2_6, Internet Explorers displays fine. We've tried JRE 1.5.0_11 and 1.6.0_3, and Internet displays slowly. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any thoughts of why this is occuring? Thanks.

Just wondering whether anyone has ideas/thoughts about this issue. Thanks.

    Hi,
VS 2008 is only compatible with CR 10.5 (Bundle version which comes with VS) ,CR 2008 SP0 and SP1.
Give it a try downloading the Service Packs and Runtimes from the Link given below and then try running your application. But remove/uninstall all the pre installed Crystal Reports versions before installing the new one.

  • Internet Explorer message "refer to popup window"

    Hi everyone,
Value some help please. When visiting my work's website with Internet Explorer on a new Lumia 625, the message "refer to popup window" appears after I log in. Unfortunately, unlike using a desktop or laptop, no new tab appears. A new tab does appear when I log on with an Android device, so I know it is possible for a mobile phone. Grateful in advance for ideas.
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew29,
    Welcome to Nokia Support Discussions.
You can try changing the website preference from the mobile version to desktop version under settings> swipe left to applications and select Internet Explorer. Also, try downloading another web browser from the Store and see if it works.

Well, I decided to just reboot my machine and IE 7 seems to have installed itself properly.

  • Internet Explorer has stopped working & causes windows to close the program Pavillion QU297AA#ABG

I have a HP Pavillion QU297AA#ABG operating on Windows 7.  Since day one of installation I click on links and get the message
Internet Explorer has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to sto working correctly.  Windows will close the program & notify you if a solution is available.
I know it it not my internet as my laptop when used on my home wireless connection does not have this problem & neither did my previous desktop that I upgraded.  I also do not believe I have a virus as I have an AVG (the paid version) antivirus scan set to run everyday to detect problems.  This is so frustrating can anyone offer a solution as I have had this problem ever since I connected my new desktop pavillion.

  • Internet Explorer 9 freezes up in Windows 7 OS - various apps including google

I found that IE9 seems to be freezing  and locking up my computer when I visit various sites (i.e. google, facebook, Citibank, etc.).  I never know when it's going to happen, but when it does, the only option I have is to do a hard shut down and
wait for the computer to reboot.
I've run Norton Antivirus, Spybot Search & Destroy, I cleaned the registry and defragged - I don't know what else to try.
I'd appreciate any assistance and/or suggestions

    Hi,
Based on my research, please try the following:
    1. Run
Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode and see how it works.
    2.
    Reset Internet Explorer settings.
    3. Please check if the issue will occur in Safe Mode.
    4. If the issue does not occur in Safe Mode, please use ShellExView to disable related extensions of Windows Explorer in Normal Mode:
    1) Please download ShellExView.
Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance
    or reliability.
    2) Extract the download file and double-click the "shexview.exe" file. It will scan the registry for all the shell extensions.
    3) Select all the non-Microsoft extensions in pink by press "Ctrl" in the keyboard.
    4) Click the "Disable Selected Items" on the toolbar and click Yes.
    5) Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.
    Hope this helps.

Chrome has it's own Flash Player plugin ("PepperFlash") which functions independently of the AcitveX plugin in IE. Things you set in IE have no impact on it.
See: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/885448 and: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968 to be sure Flash Player is enabled and not being blocked by ActiveX filtering in IE11.

  • PDF's not loading in browser - Internet Explorer 9, Adobe Reader X, Win 7 x64

I have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and have a site that uses forms that need to be filled and submitted.  The problem is that when I open the form, they are opening in a seperate Window.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader
I've done 'detect' and repair several times.
I have checked and unchecked "Display PDF in browser" under EDIT -> PREFERENCES -> Internet
What I CAN tell is that when I go into Internet Explorer and look at the addons I do NOT see any of the acrobat add-ons that I see on my other computers (that work).
I've looked in the program files/common files/adobe/acrobat/active x folder and all the files are there but I don't see a way to make Internet Explorer force loading those or getting them in there manually.
Any help would be appreciated, I'm at my wits end!

    Thank you for this.
One you said this I checked and it was running IE 64bit.
For some reason IE*64 was the default browser (which shouldn't happen).  Since IE*32 wouldn't allow me to set it as default (greyed out) I installed Chrome, set it as default browser then fired IE*32 back up, set it as default and vioila it's fixed.
I'm embarrased I didn't think of that first....
    Thank you!

  • Internet Explorer Java app problem when ESSO client runs on machine

    Hi,
    I face following situation:
User is working with web application. It is a kind of interface for Document Management System. This application logon is not managed by Oracle Enterprise SSO client (or agent).
When an Oracle ESSO services run on user's computer, user cannot open PDF files from DMS Internet Explorer page with error: UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD APPLET DUE TO SECURITY ISSUE.
When an Oracle ESSO services do not run on user's computer, user can always open PDF files from DMS Internet Explorer page with no errors.
I checked the Internet Explorer security settings and there I can see no limitations on Java, scripts or ActiveX.
    My question is:
how Oracle ESSO client/agent affects other Java-based applications or applets?
is there any possible reason while Oracle ESSO client is installed to user computer with package including "Java helper" item?
is there any known and described issue within?
Thank you very much for any answer.
    Regards, Kamil

Addition: Described behaviour was under IE8 and IE9. Firefox 22.0 and IE10 works correctly. Java version is 6.21. Operation system is Windows 7 x64.

Say your stub is in a jar called stub.jar.
You need to put that stub somewhere that it can be reached through a protocol for which Java has a URL type - so you can put it on a shared file system and use a file URL or behind an http server and use an http URL.
Let's use http - put stub.jar at the docroot of a web server.
Then, when you start your SERVER code, include this VM parameter:
    -Djava.rmi.server.codebase="http://<serveraddress>stub.jar"
Now your client will be able to use http to load the stub file out of stub.jar through http.
If you do use a file URL, make sure the shared directory you put your jar in is not on the client's classpath.

  • Internet Explorer 9 and Adobe Flash Player Square (x64)

I have a question, I use internet Explorer 9 Beta and I just heard a new version of Adobe Flash came out, my operating System is x64... I downloaded Adobe Flash Player Square and do I have to use Internet Explorer (64) or can I use the Normal one (Internet Explorer) for Adobe Flash Player to work?
    Thank you

Hi, The Flash Player Square is a beta, so it is going to have problems. IE9 is a beta, so the same. I would not Install both betas.
I would decide which one you want to use, if any. But I would not use both!!
Betas are for developers and other users that want to test using it and report back to Adobe problems they find, etc. The same thing with IE9, they use it, find problems and report back to Microsoft.
Then when all of the problems are worked out, the companies release it to everyone.
If you decide not to use the Flash Player beta, then you must Uninstall before Installing the 10.1 version.
    Hope that helps.
