Internet Explorer 11 wont uninstall or work

I am trying to help two friends with IE11 problems on Windows 7 64bit computers.
One cannot print from either IE11 or from Outlook. IE11 will also not open a link in a new window or new tab
The second one constantly gets the message IE has experience a problem and has to quit and it does.
Unfortunately I can not uninstall IE11 on either machine and revert back to IE10
When I go to the IE11 installation Update and choose to uninstall the update, I get an error message that it could not complete the operation.   I have tried the Administrator cmd line "FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum
/c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /quiet /norestart"
but on one machine I got an error on each action line.  On the other machine the cmd ran, but after a restart IE11 was still there.
I could really use some help in fixing these two machines.  I think removing IE11 and going back to IE10 needs to be done.

Hi,
The action would fail to finish, let’s check the event log to find if there is anything related to MSI installer:
Open Event Viewer, expand "Event Viewer", "Windows Logs", and select "Application”.
Right click Application, select “Filter Current Log…”, in the event source, select the MsiInstaller .
There, we can see some information about the uninstallation action.

I am using Spyware doctor for a virus program and just the windows firewall..i have stopped both of them in the mean time to help get this program downloaded..
All I need is FLASH working inside IE and im all set... but it just wont download at all....i did find something where it said to manually install then shut internet connection down..i did that and thats why im here still stuck.

Where did you find such a thing...?  Most likely it was
    download the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_play er_ax.exe and save it to disk;
close all Internet Explorer windows, then run the downloaded installer.
    Did the installer complete?
Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ ?
im sure that is what it was...i found it on the internet and a google search for IE8 wont download flash....
the installer does complete though when i went to the http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ link
but IE8 does not show any flash at all....it wont let it work...i can see the newest version is installed..no flash
    im using IE8 32 bit

  • Internet Explorer 11 silent uninstall - Access Denied

    Hey,
We are trying to uninstall IE11 on some devices via SCCM.
    Unfortunately our command line:
    FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"
Returns "Access Denied" with a popup window...even running as system account with PSexec.exe
Of course our users cannot see the popup window during deployment by SCCM and installation runs into timeout.
If I run the command line manually via and select 'OK' at the popups the uninstallation goes on and works after restart.
How is the recommended way by Microsoft of uninstalling IE11?
    Thank you.
    Kind Regards

    Hi Torsten,
    thank you for your help.
The access denied happens always for the two red marked files.
If there is an language pack installed there is an additional access denied.
Something more I found is that after internet explorer 11 update and restart the desktop background of each user is black.
If I restart again it is gone and user sees his desktop background again.
(Of course no real 'issue' but users are frustrated and are not very please of IE11 at the beginning)
    Kind Regards

  • I was unable to work on the South West Airline, error message such as : no outbound airport was found... When I swiched to Internet Explorer, I was able to work on this South West Airline website. Please help. Thanks

With Firefox as browser, when working on the South West Airline website, when I clicked on the airport code or on their calendar, nothing happened such as showing airport location or the calendar to work on. with Internet Explorer, no such problem.
    Thanks

One work around is to disable CSS on southwest.com:
Toolbar -> View -> Page Style -> No Style
The page will convert into a plain linear page that looks like it was from 1994. Scroll down to where it says Round Trip and One Way and select your airport there. Press enter in one the text boxes. After the first page, you should be able to go back to the normal presentation of the website:
Toolbar -> View -> Page Style -> Basic Page Style

  • All of a sudden some of my sites have stopped working properly on Firefox and I have had to (reluctantly) go back to Internet Explorer to get them to work properly. Why??? Please help because I always prefer Firefox in all internet stuff

The problem sites have always worked properly on Mozilla Firefox until 2 of them stopped giving full access. I reverted to (yuk) Internet Explorer to see if the problem was still there, but, surprisingly I had full access with both programes. I repeated the attempts a couple of times in Firefox but now have to use IE when I require proper access.
Is the problem in a setting somewhere??
Please help because I HATE IE
    Thanks & Regards

  • I cant use the "google search" button but no proble, with internet explorer. The" feeling lucky" works.

i cant use the "google search" button with firefox 3.6.6 or even 3.5. I have no problem with searching google on internet explorer. The" Im feeling lucky" button works. The google search tab on the top right corner of firefox browser works fine. But the main google search button on the google site doesnt work. I havent changed anything. i cant do anymore google searches.
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://www. google.com

When click on search, the Google search result didn't update (the google search page didn't change). BUT the url bar on top did have the Google URL updated with the new search term.
    Something like
    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&q=firefox+3.6+problem+with+google+search+button&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&fp=dd2d1939af06a5a
So the URL is changed when I click the Google SEARCH button on the page. Just the page not changed nor updated.
And when I click "Reload current Page", then the page is reloaded with the new google search result.

  • Internet Explorer Crashes and Uninstall setup.exe crashes

Hi all! I've been able to install Siebel Tools 8.1 but not the Siebel 8.1 client. I think there was a problem during the installation. Now, Internet Explorer crashes and when i try to uninstall Siebel in accordance with [this recommendation|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14004_01/books/SiebInstWIN/SiebInstCOM_UninstallSiebel9.html#wp1520277] setup.exe crashes. As of now, I've been using the web service instead since i cannot figure out what to do.
    What might be the problem?
    Best regards
    Sam

They aren't related and shouldn't affect each other.

  • I have followed "Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer" but although I've worked through the dtages and it says it has worked, the expected internet explorer folder does not appear in bookmarks

I have installed Firefox today, and like the look of and the speed. But I have an extensive set of foldersin my IE Favorites and remebered passwords I don't want to have to reimput.
I have now tried twice folowing "Importing favorites and other data from Internet Explorer " which seemed to go smoothly, once with IE open and the other with it closed, and closed down my PC between each attempted installation. Any ideas?

It usually works better if you export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
    * Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html): File > Import and Export
    * Import the HTML file in Firefox: Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import HTML: From File

  • The photos on my Picasa web album display as less sharp and detailed than the original photo or as displayed on Internet Explorer. Is there a work around?

Below is a link to one of my photos, if I toggle between this link on Firefox 3.6.9 and Internet Explorer I see a loss of clarity and detail on the Firefox browser. Look especially at the flower stamens to see this. <br />
all the photos in this album have the problem. <br />

  • Internet Explorer 9 Silent Uninstall

    Hello,
I created a custom IE9 install by using the Microsoft IEAK9. The source used for the custom install and destination OS is the same, Windows 7 Pro x86. My install works perfectly with the correct customizations. However, when I run the msiexec /x
{GUID} uninstall key from the command line, I am prompted to locate the IE9 Msi installer. When I point it to the IEAK Output MSI file (which it already had found) it complains about not being a valid IE installer package. When I look at the details of the
IE9-Setup-Full.msi I see a different product GUID than listed in the registry uninstall key, however if I attempt to use that key I get the "product is not installed" error. This is the command line used to install the package: MSIEXEC /I "\\serverpath\9.0\IEAK9OUTPUT\FLAT\Win32_WIN7\ENU\IE9-Setup-Full.msi"
    /qn /norestart
I can run the uninstall from the control panel without any problems, but I like to have a silent uninstall script in case I need to perform a reinstall if I run into any issues during general deployment. Has anyone else run into this problem and know a way
    to fix it?
    Thank you

    Hi,
You can try to use this methods to silent uninstall IE9:
    (1)
    Log in as Administrator
    (2)
    Close all IE browser windows
    (3)
Open a "Command" windows by Clickin Start > Run > Cmd
    (4)
    Open "Notepad"
Copy and paste the text below into Notepad. This will convert
the html below into plain text:
    FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*9.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /norestart"
    (5)
Next copy the text from Notepad and paste into the Command window at the disk prompt and then press the enter key.
    (6)
After the commands run and the disk prompt returns, paste the text again and rerun the commands.
    (7)
Next reboot to finalize / update the configuration with IE8.

  • Firefox is displaying improper dates and times while using Google calendar, however they display correctly in Internet Explorer. Firefox has always worked right before, but not now.

The Google calendar's information is accurately saved on our end on this sample page.
