Hello! I am in the process of developing my website and very new to dreamweaver. I have ran into a problem! yikes! Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. The problem occurs in :
-MSIE 6.0 / Windows XP - Index on Left (Sprymenu) is just Blank White Boxes
-MSIE 5.5 / Windows 2000 - Index on Left one giant white box instead of many spall ones as listed above
-MSIE 4.01 / Windows 2000 - Only a few of my categories appear
MSIE 5.01 / Windows 2000 - Seems to be fine
MSIE 7.0 / Windows XP - Seems to be ok as well

I think you can safely ignore IE5.5 and below. The population of these browsers is thankfully quite small now.
I notice this in your otherwise nearly valid code base -
<link href="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
<link href="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarVertical.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
Since you don't have a horizontal menu there, and since I don't see anything else obvious that would cause this problem try deleting that first link to the horizontal CSS file.

How do I fix my homepage for Internet Explorer use, when using dreamweaver?

I have recently created my first two webpages, and they looked like they were working when I was using Firefox. But when using Internet Explorer one of the pages drop the text down to an area of the screen where it's impossible to read it. Can someone please help me out? I am using Dreamweaver and I'm sure there is a basic problem I've created for myself, but I can't figure out what it is! This is the webpage I'm having problems with: www.haanshuus.no.

I don't think this has anything to do with the conditional comments.
The problem is with your layout approach. Trying to precisely fit content over a very large background image never works as planned. If you increase text size in any browser (Zoom text only, Ctrl+++), your black content spills out of the gray box into the black region below. Black text on black background becomes invisible. Your approach works in Print design but fails on the web because web pages need to be flexible.
Remove your Body background image and notice how your page flows. A different approach would be to slice your background into sections to create a flexible gray box.

Rollover images in Dreamweaver CS6 show blue frame in Internet Explorer...

Hi
I've created some very simple rollover buttons in Photoshop and placed them into Dreamweaver as rollover images to use as a navigation bar.
They appear correct in all browsers except Internet Explorer - they appear with a blue frame around? The table boarder is set to 0...
My Dreamweaver knowledge is very limited so appologies if there is a very simple solution to my problem :-)

Dreamweaver Internet Explorer problems

I am having the issue with my website, www.green-scouts.org, where it will view fine in Firefox and Safari but not in Internet Explorer. I am new to Dreamweaver so coding it foreign. Any suggestions would help. Thanks

All the images are CMYK JPGs which Internet Explorer does not recognize. Never use CMYK mode for web images. It's for print only.
Go back to your image editor (Photoshop?) and re-save them all as RGB JPGs (in Photoshop: Image > Mode > RGB Color)

Since our web designers use Dreaweaver and Contribute to create web pages, texts are formatted as italics when they use <em></em> tag, but when the end user browses the web using Firefox, they see bold text instead of italics. How can we remedy this problem with Firefox without changing hundreds of pages which contain <em></em>?

Error Message - Dreamweaver vs Internet Explorer

I have created buttons with pop up menus (drop down menus) in
Dreamweaver MX. On my local computer browser (internet explorer
6.0) for testing them work great. However, when I upload pages to a
folder, off my own site for testing, the pop up menus are not
visible. I also get an error message for each page. errors relate
to specific lines, characters and say: line 8 character 15 error:
menu undefined code: 0; line 129 character 21 error: object
expected code: 0; line 129 character 54, object expected code 0 and
so on and so forth for each page. The java script is missing
something, what I don't know since I used default code in
Dreamweaver to create these pop up menus. Here is the url, so you

Problem with dreamweaver site on internet explorer

Hi all
Help required! i have a website up and running www.villaneptunecyprus.co.uk which works fine in most browsers apart from Internet Explorer!
If you have a look you will see a slider banner picture come across the screen which then slides out to be replaced by another and so on. However in IE the first banner slides in and then out and then all the text disappears and the website , for want of a better word, just stops. You can still navigate to other pages in the site but the same thing happens eventually.
Just cannot quite see what is going wrong.....any suggestions gratefully received!!

Dreamweaver tables not displaying correctly in internet explorer browser, please help!!!!

Could someone please help me with this issue i've been having for almost a year now and can't find any information on getting this fixed, for some reason the features specs and required tables rows are not displaying correctly, the image is out of aligned when viewing the results using the internet explorer browser only, the firefox browser works just as needed but when i try to view the same code in IE the tables are not aligned properly and the text is not margined correctly either, i tried playing around with the css style that i have and no results. Please help me fix this issue so that my page would display in internet explorer just like under Firefox. Below are the pictures of the problem i'm having.

Try this without the border images and it will work in all browsers with increased text size. That's assuming eBay supports embedded CSS styles (which I'm not convinced they do). Inline styles are safer IMHO.

Javascript in Dreamweaver error in internet explorer but not in mozilla

Hi,
I had a friend create a image viewer of flash files for my
site so when you roll over an image it would show the flash SWF.
However it stalls in internet explorer but works fine in mozilla.

Swf link not working in Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer but works in Safari

Hi,
I'm sorry but Im a real newbie and really need help!!!
On the homepage of my website I have put a swf file that I linked to another page in my website through the div a href link and it displays great on safari and links, however in other browsers, when i try to click on it, it comes up with the link at the bottom of the browser (where it sometimes says Done), however it doesnt actually link, it jsut stays on the homepage.

I'm doing it for a client and they dont want it put up on the server yet, I wish I could put it up bc I have no idea what I'm doing!
Basically I wanted a swf file from Flash to display a range of products (I have turned all the products into buttons) and then I put coding into all the buttons to on release getURL which work in the swf file, however when I put the swf file into dreamweaver, the buttons worked in hover state, but the action scripting didn't work to link the swf file to another page in the website (the index in Our_brands folder).
So i decided to make it link to the index.html in Our_brands folder from wrapping the swf box in a div tag and linking the div tag <a href="Our_brands/index.html"> which links it great in Safari but wont link in Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer.
Does that make any sense?

Amimation doesn't play in Internet Explorer

The Flash files do open up in FireFox from either a PC or Mac computer. Is there something within the code that I can take out by chance? I'm using an apple computer.
I get this message when I open up a flash file on my computer, but I do not get it when I open the webpage and click on one of the animated Flash video files.
"This page contains some SWF objects that may not work properly in the most recent version of Internet Explorer. Dreamweaver cannot convert them to the new SWF markups. Please delete each of them and insert again."

Hi,
Some questions for you--
1) Just want to clarify, the SWF is produced using Captivate, right ?
2) What is the content of the WF, in case it contains Widgets try to generate one without these and verify the result.
3) What is the version of IE that you have been using?
Can you checked your Flash Player version and share that as well.

Image placeholder not working in internet explorer

I'm using DreamweaverMX and I used the swap image behavior to make thumbnails appear in a larger placeholder below. When I load the site in Firefox the thumbnails come up and when you click them it displays properly below. However when I open it in internet explorer the placeholder shows up on the screen prior to clicking thumbnails with a red X in the corner. This is a problem because there is more than one placeholder for the different orientations and they are showing up on the page. Any advice appreciated. Thanks

That is correct behavior for IE - unlike FF, it will display the broken image icon when the image is missing.
You might consider simply starting with a transparent.gif which you dimension the the needed size.
