Internet Explorer Experienced an Error

When I play gamesville.Com, about every 45 second the error message showing that the Internet Explorer is experiencing problems, will see if they can resolve and reopen, it always will reopen in a different window. I know its not the modem or my carrier because I play the same game on my laptop and it works great.
This question was solved.

Hi,
First, reset Internet Explorer as follows - be aware that this will remove Bookmarks and Saved Passwords etc.
Open windows Control Panel, open Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and then click the Reset button.  Click 'Yes' or 'Ok' to any further prompts required to complete the process.
Next, reinstall Adobe Flash as follows.
Download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your Desktop.
Flash Player Uninstaller.
When the download has completed, close all browser windows and run the uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the PC.
Next, download and install Firefox and then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.  Note: You may want to deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.
Close all browser windows before running the Flash installer.
Launch Firefox and see if your game will play Ok in this browser - if it does, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same Adobe Flash link above to get a prompt to install the ActiveX component.  When done, restart Internet Explorer.

  • Internet explorer fix connection error

    I have an application that creates some entries in the IE(Internet explorer) under LAN settings in the use automatic configuration script.
    Now when my application exits. It deletes the entries it made and only the default or older text should be there. And it should restore all the old settings. In order to achieve this first I am copying the value from registry before my application makes any
    entries by using RegQueryValueEx(hKey,L"AutoConfigURL",NULL,NULL,(BYTE*)buffer,&dwBufLen) and copying the value of AutoConfigURLfrom here to other place in registry.(I am creating new entries in registry for this). Post when my application exits
    I copy the AutoConfigURL string from the place where i backed up and restore back to IE settings. below is my code.:
    bool Timeout::CopyRegistryProxySettings(HKEY hKeyRoot, LPCWSTR lpSubKey)
    wchar_t buffer[MAX_PATH];
    DWORD dwBufLen;
    DWORD dwValue ;
    DWORD dwDataSize = sizeof(DWORD);
    memset(buffer, 0, sizeof buffer);
    dwBufLen = MAX_PATH;
    HKEY hKey;
    if (RegOpenKeyEx(HKEY_CURRENT_USER, L"Software\\BackupSettings\\Internet Settings", 0, KEY_ALL_ACCESS, &hKey) == ERROR_SUCCESS)
    if( ERROR_SUCCESS ==
    RegGetValue(HKEY_CURRENT_USER, L"Software\\BackupSettings\\Internet Settings", L"AutoConfigURL", RRF_RT_REG_SZ, NULL, NULL, NULL))
    if(ERROR_SUCCESS == RegQueryValueEx(hKey,L"AutoConfigURL",NULL,NULL,(BYTE*)buffer,&dwBufLen))
    int len= lstrlen(buffer);
    buffer[len+1]='\0';
    int len1= sizeof(buffer);
    lstrcpy(AutoConfigURL,buffer);
    memset(buffer, 0, sizeof buffer);
    return 1;
    bool Timeout::RestoreNewRegistry (HKEY hKeyRoot, LPCWSTR Subkey)
    HKEY hKey;
    DWORD size = 0;
    DWORD type;
    DWORD data = 0;
    if (RegOpenKeyEx(HKEY_CURRENT_USER, L"Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings", 0, KEY_ALL_ACCESS, &hKey) == ERROR_SUCCESS)
    if( ERROR_SUCCESS ==
    RegGetValue(HKEY_CURRENT_USER, L"Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Internet Settings", L"AutoConfigURL", RRF_RT_REG_SZ, NULL, NULL, NULL))
    RegSetValueEx(hKey, L"AutoConfigURL", NULL,REG_SZ,(BYTE*)AutoConfigURL, (DWORD)((lstrlen(AutoConfigURL)+1)*sizeof(TCHAR)));
    return 1;
    Now everything works as expected but the problem is that after running my application when i open IE it shows the error Page cannot be displayed .Please check the connection settings. I cross verified all the entries in the registry are correct post running
    the application but still facing this issue.
    On clicking fix my connection it shows windows could not detect automatically network proxies settings.
    Any work around for this.? Do we have any Windows API that can take back up of the registry and restore it states as usual back,  without copying the individual sub key values. What are the places in the registry where I should look for IE settings. For
    the above problem. Sorry if I made any mistake in asking question. Thanks In advance for help.

    Does your application works well if you don't use these apis and edit the registry manually?  This may give you some hints:

  • Internet Explorer launch gets error 2.  What do I do?

    Last night I was surfing the internet and suddenly Internet Explorer stopped and I got the message that unexpectedly quite because of error 2. I cannot get it to start again, PLUS of course my email is in Outlook Express, and that's not functioning. What can I do??? Help please!
    You can email me at [email protected] with an answer. I am really stuck! (If I can't get the application back, is there somewhere in my computer that my address book and my favorite places are stored that I can get to???)
    Thanks.

    Hi, alienbx -
    Welcome to Apple's Discussions.
    Re Internet Explorer -
    Try increasing the Preferred memory allocation - adding 20 or 30 thousand, or even more, is not excessive.
    Article #18278 - Assigning More Memory to an Application
    Also, before running the program again, clean out its Temporary Files folder (that folder is usually emptied when IE is quit, but if IE crashed, rgw folder was not emptied and may retain a damaged file). You'll find that here - System Folder >> Preferences >> Explorer >> Temporary Files
    You may also find it helps to trash IE's cache file, which is named IE Cache.waf. You'll find that here - System Folder >> Preferences >> MS Internet Cache >> IE Cache.waf
    <hr>
    Re Outlook Express -
    Try compacting OE's database files. You can do that by holding down the Option key while starting up OE - you'll be asked if you want to compact the database files; click okay, and follow the prompts.
    <hr>
    There is one file that is used by both IE and OE, writing to it so frequently that it sometimes gets damaged. That file is the Internet Preferences file, which is created by the Internet control panel but is also used by other programs. You can throw it away, and then restart the Mac - then open the Internet control panel and a new Internet Preferences file will be created automatically.
    Note - throwing that file away will reset all settings in the Internet control panel to defaults, so those would need to be re-entered afterwards. If that control panel can be opened now, it may be of advantage to take screenshots of each of its pages before trashing the Internet Preferences file - doing so makes re-entry of the info a lot easier.
    <hr>
    OE's address book is kept with the rest of OE's database files, here - (hard drive) >> Documents >> Microsoft User Data >> Identities. In the Identities folder will be at least one folder, perhaps more if you've created additional accounts (identities). The original one should be named Main Identity; there will be an additional folder for each additional account. I'm not sure, but I think the Address Book is the file named Mailing Lists.
    IE's Favorites are kept in a separate file in the Explorer folder in Preferences; the file's name is Favorites.html
    Those are good files to back up regularly.

  • Internet Explorer + Quicktime = Read Error: 0x66869BC7

    I've never run into a bug like this one regarding quicktime, but here's what is happening..
    I'm using Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11, which I believe is the latest.
    I downloaded the latest quicktime last week. Now quicktime works fine when viewing movies with the standalone client, works like a charm.
    However, when I got any website, even Apples, and view an embedded *.mov file and then close IE7.. the browser closes but I get the read error popup. It says A read error occured at 0x66869BC7 at 0x00000014. However, the same sites work fine when I use firefox and they worked fine when I was using IE6.
    So I tried a few things.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled Quicktime, same issue. I tried the version before last, same issue. I tried a third party program that plays quicktime content, same problem. I even created a new admin user account under XP.. logged into it.. same problem. I also cleaned the cache and cookies.. same problem.
    The only thing I have not tried is to reinstall IE 7.
    Anyone have any ideas what can be causing this?
    I also ran a ram test.. no issues there..

    This has been a problem since October 2006; see both Quicktime 7.1.3 and 7.1.5 are incompatible with Firefox 2 and IE7. Apple has yet to acknowledge this problem or provide a fix.
    Other Symptoms of this error:
    1. When trying to view QuickTime movies a poop states "Plug-in did not start properly"
    2. IE is crashed
    3. Upon closing IE after viewing a QT movie a popup will state: A read error occurred at "xxxxxxxxx" at xxxxxxxxx.
    I'm sorry I can't help fix this problem but Apple has provided NO help. Read this thread specifically my posts (darwinj2006) to allevate some of the problems

  • Unable to Load Photoshop Elements from DVD using Internet Explorer 10. Error: need IE 4 or Higher

    Upgrading my Laptop and moving my Photoshop Elements (~2010) to my Windows 7 machine.  Message says I need Internet Eplorer 4.0 or greater.  I'm on IE 10.

    That's a bug in the Adobe installer which seems to think IE10 is IE1.
    Either put IE10 into IE9 or lower mode using Compatibility View.
    http://techathlon.com/internet-explorer-10-run-compatibility-mode/
    Or simply use a different browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox.

  • Windows 8 Internet explorer only- an error occured

    I am using windows 8. NOT 8.1. I have tested flash player in firefox and chrome. They both work fine. The only browser with a problem is, of course, microsoft's internet explorer. I have the latest version of everything. I have tried uninstalls and reinstalls. I have checked to make sure activex filtering is off and that the flash player add-ons are enabled. Please, if you have any thoughts, let me know.

    Windows 8 is far from the best thing Microstuff ever released. I can't stand it myself. (Being a Mac user makes me appreciate it even less)
    8.1 is worse. Be glad you don't have it. I did for a while and it was hell. I had to reformat my laptop to get rid of it and I've blocked the update notification with a registry key, so it CAN'T even be offered anymore..
    I've never been a fan of Internet Exploder. I used Netscape in 1998. I switched to Opera in 2000, and Mozilla (now Firefox) in 2002. I have IE for testing purposes ONLY amd I would NEVER consider using it as my everyday browser. It's unsafe, full of security holes, slower than molasses in January and it's not even compatible with most 2007 web standards... this is 2014. ANYTHING ELSE would be an imporvement.
    Firefox (from Mozilla)
    Opera (from Opera)
    Safari (from Apple)
    Chrome (from Google)
    ANY of those will work where IE won't, using the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

    tejo11,
    Script errors like this can happen with IE and while uncommon are not unheard of. With the print and scan doctor coming back fine we can move to troubleshooting the browser where the error originates. If you would like try using a different browser as a temporary workaround and use this microsoft guide for troubleshooting the script error you are getting: http://goo.gl/k7aTU
    Best of Luck!

    The error occurs again and the validation is not yet done. Which means, that the fields with problems will not be marked. When entering the field afterward and changing or blur everything works ok and the field is marked in red. Only the onload is not working.
    Any ideas, what the problem is?

    Hello,
    I created a podcast page in iWeb 09 but it deos not display propeorly in IE.

  • Error: This dialog requires using the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer

    Since upgrading Internet Explorer to version 11 this error occurs when attempting to navigate a business related website: "This dialog requires using the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 7.0 or newer".  Using an
    XP machine, there is no issue.  Using any Windows 7 machine and Internet Explorer 11 the error consistently occurs.
    Most solutions reference this: .NET Framework problems with Internet Explorer 11 http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn338133.aspx.  The solution is to create the registry key
    EnableIEHosting, and references an issue with .NET 4
    The problem description and solution fit my current issue, but when I create the new registry key (in both locations), the same issue is happening.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Most solutions
    suggest you try Compatibility view (for IE7 Quirks mode emulation) or the Developer Tools, Emulation tab for something else.  (F12, Ctrl-8).
    The problem is that the site is not designed to handle a modern browser and then its default is, when it can't recognize a User-Agent string, to assume the worst:  No capabilities.

  • Adobe Reader XI hangs Internet Explorer!

    We support several clients and as each PC upgrades to Adobe Reader XI it breaks the IE Add-On (view in browser) capability.
    The pdf starts to download, pops up in the browser, and then in about 5-10 seconds hangs until it times out (45 minutes later).
    IE then throws up the error "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?"
    If the user downloads the pdf it works; if the user uses Chrome or FF it works!  Have tried disabling the "Fast View".  It just then allows me to see when it stops downloading.
    I have tried Windows XP, Win7 & Win8 and different versions of IE and they all fail!
    I am seeing this across all my clients!
    Sometimes, if I disable the Add-on it will then download and open it in Adobe Reader but sometimes (haven't figured out the exact combination but IE9 & Win 7 fails) even though it's disabled, it still opens it in the browser and hangs.
    I created a GPO that disables the Add-n but it continues to try to open it in the IE browser.
    Help!

    We've been testing this some more, and we've discovered our problem. We have a Xerox global print driver installed on our computers that runs our printer.
    If we take a file created in the Microsoft Suite, whether Word or Excel, and print to PDF through the print driver, and then upload that file to a website and provide a link in a page for people to click, the PDF throws an error in Internet Explorer, giving the error listed above, and fails to open. The PDF opens fine locally through Internet Explorer, and you can view the file through the "View" option in Gmail. You can also view that file in Firefox and Chrome with no problem. And the file downloads just fine.
    If we take the same file and use the "Save As" option in the Microsoft program to save the file as a PDF and upload that to a website, the file opens just fine in Internet Explorer, as well we everywhere else.
    The print driver is doing something in the PDF-making process that bothers Internet Explorer.
