Internet Explorer Hang Up

The Identity Management functionality of SAP NW seems to freeze when I use Internet Explorer, but it works fine when I use Mozilla Firefox.  Does anyone know why this may be happening?

Mentioned for completeness:
There are even official SAP notes & corresponding fixes related to the problem:

  • Internet Explorer hangs when using CrystalReportViewer in an IFRAME

    Post Author: ME-DSZ

I'm using Crystal Reports 2008 Service Pack 0
Create an aspx page (CRViewer.aspx)  with one CrystalReportViewer that shows a report. E. g.:
    <body><form id="form1" runat="server"><div style="height: 100%;"><CR:CrystalReportViewer ID="CrystalReportViewer1" runat="server" AutoDataBind="True"GroupTreeImagesFolderUrl="" ReportSourceID="CrystalReportSource1" ToolbarImagesFolderUrl=""ToolPanelWidth="200px" Width="100%" Height="100%" BestFitPage="False" /><CR:CrystalReportSource ID="CrystalReportSource1" runat="server"><Report FileName="Report.rpt"></Report></CR:CrystalReportSource></div></form></body>
If you test this page all the functionality of the cr-viewer works fine.
Then i tried to show this page in a second page in an iframe element: E. g.:
    <body><form id="form1" runat="server"><div><p>some other stuff</p></div><div id="divWrapper"> <iframe id="ifReport" runat="server" height="300px" width="100%" src="CRViewer.aspx"></iframe></div></form></body>
If you click any button on the CrystalReportViewer Toolbox Internet Explorer 7 hangs with 100 % CPU. Firefox shows an error:
    Unable to process your request
I tested this with buildin Webserver of Visual Studio 2008 and hosted in IIS (7.0).
After some experimenting and javascript debugging i think i found the reason. This behaviour happens only if you set the width of CrystalReportViewer to 100% (only in the iframe scenario).
This is causing in "allInOne.js" an infinite loop (in function -> signal: function(src, sig))...)

  • Internet explorer hangs, slow to load. Systen slow as a whole. Last HP product I will ever purchase.

I have (and regret purchasing) an HP Pavillion P2-1123W Running Win 7 64 bit.
I bought new and at the time the only installation I did was Microsoft office pro. Loaded my printer software.
I first has issues with the printer software. Win 7 did not like it at first. Called phone support and narrowed it down to that. Seeing the printer was not an HP thats all they could do.
This thing is so slow and IE freezes or hangs on a webpage. Programs load slow but mproved somewhat after I bought and installed another gig of ram. I have to imagine this is the issue and more ram is needed. After buying a system I would believe a person should not have to purchase parts to make a system usesable.
I understand I did not buy a video editing or a gaming computer but simple web surfing and emails should not cause a person to be frustrated.
I have called tech support a couple times and it is always redundant shut down start up, click this, click that. This thing is just the biggest P.O.S and underpowered.
Yes I have a good antivirus/spyware/maleware protection program. We can discount that as the issue out of the box it was slow.
My previous 3 were of another brand and that lasted 4 years, at four months this will be the fastest replaced computer. Back to the tilted E

    Hello harleyriders12
Just to verify, is the computer model the P2-1123W? I ask because your screenshot of task manager doesn't match up with the online product specifications for that model.

  • Interactive Report wide Column Sorting hangs in Internet Explorer

I have an application that contains an interactive report. The Column Sorting and Filtering functions work fine in Firefox. However, if I try to sort a wide (110 byte - it contains a hyperlink) column in Internet Explorer, APEX produces the 'loading data' image and then hangs. Even a sort of a narrow (3 byte) column is noticeably slower in Internet Explorer than in Firefox.
We are running APEX 3.1.1 on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production with the Partitioning, OLAP, Data Mining and Real Application Testing options

You say the images disappear when you sort the report. Does it happen when you sort on demand in the dashboard or when you sort it in the report itself? Or both?Only when sort from the dashboard. From the report itself, the answers works fine.

  • When downloading a large PDF file, firefox stops after some of file and hangs up. Only way out is to close browser or power down. Internet explorer will complete download of same PDF file.

For example, go to irs.gov and try to download 1040 instructions as a PDF file. Firefox hangs up after part of the file is downloaded, but will not complete the download. The only way out is to close the browser (Firefox). Sometimes the only way out is to power down computer and reboot. I'm running Windows XP Professional. My computer has plenty of memory and disc space, so that is not the problem. When I use Internet Explorer (UGH!) it takes a while, but the very same pdf file will completely download.

  • Adobe Reader XI hangs Internet Explorer!

We support several clients and as each PC upgrades to Adobe Reader XI it breaks the IE Add-On (view in browser) capability.
The pdf starts to download, pops up in the browser, and then in about 5-10 seconds hangs until it times out (45 minutes later).
IE then throws up the error "A network error occurred while accessing this document on the Internet. Would you like to close the document or reload it?"
If the user downloads the pdf it works; if the user uses Chrome or FF it works!  Have tried disabling the "Fast View".  It just then allows me to see when it stops downloading.
I have tried Windows XP, Win7 & Win8 and different versions of IE and they all fail!
I am seeing this across all my clients!
Sometimes, if I disable the Add-on it will then download and open it in Adobe Reader but sometimes (haven't figured out the exact combination but IE9 & Win 7 fails) even though it's disabled, it still opens it in the browser and hangs.
I created a GPO that disables the Add-n but it continues to try to open it in the IE browser.
    Help!

We've been testing this some more, and we've discovered our problem. We have a Xerox global print driver installed on our computers that runs our printer.
If we take a file created in the Microsoft Suite, whether Word or Excel, and print to PDF through the print driver, and then upload that file to a website and provide a link in a page for people to click, the PDF throws an error in Internet Explorer, giving the error listed above, and fails to open. The PDF opens fine locally through Internet Explorer, and you can view the file through the "View" option in Gmail. You can also view that file in Firefox and Chrome with no problem. And the file downloads just fine.
If we take the same file and use the "Save As" option in the Microsoft program to save the file as a PDF and upload that to a website, the file opens just fine in Internet Explorer, as well we everywhere else.
The print driver is doing something in the PDF-making process that bothers Internet Explorer.

  • Youtube freezes or hangs firefox but works great in Internet Explorer

Every time pull up youtube in Firefox it immediately freezes or hangs the entire browser. the only thing I can do is close down Firefox via the task manager. This happens every single time. It used to work fine. I've even disable accelerate video. Nothing seems to work. The only time it kind of works is when I uninstall and reinstall firefox and/or flash player. Then the very first time I pull up youtube it will work great but when I close down the browser then reopen it and go to youtube, I have the same exact problem as before.
Firefox will pull up youtube with no problem when I uninstall the flashplayer (of course can't see videos then) but once it's installed youtube freezes.
Also Internet Explorer pulls up youtube videos great, just like Firefox used to do. Don't know what's wrong or what's happened but youtube immediately freezes or hangs Firefox when flashplayer is installed in firefox

Hey guys I think we've got a fix for this one. As most often the case the glitch is not with FF but with some plugin or incompatible piece of SW.
Troubleshoot: Uninstall FF, uninstall flashplayer, uninstall all brower toolbars add ons etc. (use Adobe Flash uninstaller if necessary (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html#main_Download_the_Adobe_Flash_Player_uninstaller)
Then reinstall most recent version of FF and then most recent of Flashplayer.
DO NOT add, enable, attach anything else at all. Just Bare FF and Only most recent flash player.
If you had Zone Alarm toolbar add on earlier and have uninstalled and not reinstalled it, FF is likely to pullup youtube videos with no problem.
Zone Alarm toolbar is incompatible with FF when flashplayer installed and pulling up a youtube page.
It's likely other toolbars may also be incompatible so just install the naked browser and then the Flashplayer. If it works you can begin reinstalling addons etc one by one.

  • Firefox either closes suddenly when I click on the address bar after startup or it hangs and also blocks internet explorer from loading

On my Windows XP sp3 system the current the last two releases of Firefox both exhibit the same behavior. When I launch Firefox it will either shutdown within seconds with no crash reporter or other error logged or it will hang completely and indefinitely. When it hangs it also blocks internet explorer 8 from loading. I have tried and followed all the steps in the crashing FAQ including safe mode, uninstalls, re-installs, profile deletes (even the profile dialog closed suddenly). I use Norton Internet Security version 18.6.0.29. A full virus scan does not find any problems. I have disabled all toolbars, plugins and addons and the problem persists. Google Chrome, Internet Explorer and Opera all work fine. Only occasionally does Firefox load and keep running. It's as if it is failing on some check at startup and either crashes or hangs most of the time.

That is a Flash Player that plays an MP3 file.

  • Internet Explorer JApplet hang close intermittent jre 1.4.1

I've browsed several similar topics here. So let me add my problem.
The environment is Internet Explorer 6.0 and the JRE release is 1.4.1. I have an applet that will either put up a JDialog subclass or an instance of a JOptionPane (for errors and warnings). Sometimes the browser closes fine on close (x button in top right of frame). Sometimes it hangs. I am not sure if destroy is ever getting invoked when it hangs as I tried putting a System.out.println() in and never saw the output. When it closes properly I do briefly see the outputs in the jre plugin window. Another similarity to other posts is this applet uses sockets (mySQL) and the destroy method is where I close the connection. Other posts claim using sockets for one thing or another, so that may be a culprit. Oddly, I have not seen posts that reference previous versions of the JRE so I am guessing maybe it's a problem with the 1.4.1 JRE? It's a wild shot but I am trying to ascertain commonality amoung all the similar posts. There doesn't seem to be a difference in being a signed jar or not. I can supply further info to anyone who might have an idea. Also, I can not reliably reproduce.
    Thanks,
    Walt

Maybe the problem with the applet is that you are using the same instances of JPanels and JComponents in the Applet each time you intialize it. I had this problem, because I was reusing the panels to reduce the load time to generate them, but the problem was that when I did this, I couldn't write in a JTextField of this panels, and when I try to close the IE window after trying to write in a JTextField, the IE crashed.
Maybe it isn't your problem, but it may help.

  • Flash 10 hangs Internet Explorer 7 on Vista?

I installed Flash 10 on my dad's computer last Saturday. He
emailed me today to tell me that Internet Explorer 7 had been a few
times over the past few days which he things started around
Tuesday. Since the only change to IE7 made recently was upgrading
from Flash 9 to Flash 10, Flash 10 is my suspect.
Are there any reports of Flash 10 causing IE7 to hang in
    Vista?

    Hi Mush25-
I had to step back from this and take a different approach.
While tossin' down some aspirins, I worked on my other niece's
laptop to upgrade to FP10 and troubleshoot. Identical to T2, but
with more Yahoo stuff: homepage, toolbar, chat, etc.. Turns out she
had already done it via Adobe yes/no prompt. No issues, everything
works OK. She said it only took a few minutes. I checked it out and
checked the settings, it's OK. Go figure.....
So, I will approach this as a problem with Manual
Downloading, which you and I did (not sure about Morac).
The HP desktop? We don't normally use IE7 on it, as it is AOL
Dial-up only, so few/no cookie issues on IE7. I kicked in IE7 and
FP10 worked OK. Well, as OK as dial-up video can be....
OK- a question for ya, this will tell me if I'm on the right
track: On your first FP10 upgrade, did you FIRST uninstall FP9, or
    download/install OVER FP9? Please answer honestly....no judgements
    here...
I didn't uninstall first- I admit it! I never do for Adobe
and Java, as I want to make sure the new version/upgrade works OK
before losing the old. I was on the old dial-up for too long, I
guess. There are exceptions, of course, like AVG.
    Let me know.

  • Firefox 4.0 is not working for Vista..error messages regarding Internet Explorer, yahoo, consistently hanging on all websites, facebook, aol, etc.

I updated from 3.6 to 4.0 Firefox. Multiple problems with programs, security, websites, etc. i have Windows Vista on my computer and disabled Internet Explorer. When I turn on my computer i get error messages regarding 3rd party being disabled in IE and I disabled IE so I do not understand i have run scans on my system I need a total clean up as firefox messed up all my settings.

    mixalis88,
I appreciate the suggestion, but that did NOT fix the problem. I, however, HAVE fixed the problem...I now use Google Chrome as my browser.
It may not be perfect, but it correctly displays the websites I visit most, and I dont get that Goddamn annoying re-direct page in Google like I do in FF.
I use to LOVE FF...but until they work out the bugs, I'm done with it.

  • Audio hangs on all videos played in firefox after updating to 3.6, everything works fine in internet explorer.

sound locks up and repeats while videos play, sound resumes as it should after a second or so, happens once every few seconds while playing any video within firefox. (youtube) flash applications work fine. internet explorer runs all videos fine. let me know if i need to dig up some more info to help figure out what my be causing the problem.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == firefox 3.6 update

This will require advanced help. I believe it has something to do with the session restore feature of Firefox, but I can't help you fix it.
In the meantime (that is, before another contributor that knows how to help you comes here), you may want to try creating a new Firefox profile ([http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles managing profiles]) and see if the same issues occur on that one. This profile can be erased if you don't want it, of course. Please tell us whether the new profile has the same issues or not.
