Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled

I found a fix for this problem .. I went to start then right-clicked
IE icon to open properties. In the target field
I deleted "extoff" at the end of the line and then in the
Comment field I erased everything except  Start Internet Explorer. It still says (No Add-ons) in parentheses on the start menu .. but when I open the program I no longer have that warning message at the top of the screen and the game site I like
is working fine now.

still says (No Add-ons) in parentheses on the start menu ..
Did you recently install a different browser?  Which one?  I think symptoms like this are being caused by such installs but I don't have any details for supporting the idea.  However, count yourself lucky because some users are inexplicably
seeing all signs of IE support completely removed from their GUI.  Then the only thing they can do to get it working again is to use DISM to simulate what using the checkbox in Windows Features would do.  I would really like to know how that was
done.  This interfering "exploit" is mild compared to that.

  • Firefox will no longer open any website, not even a Mozilla support page. Resetting, even with add-ons disabled, has not helped.

The question explains the whole thing. No web page will open at all, except for the blank Firefox page. Typing in an address, clicking on a site in the history, opening a new tab and working from it - nothing works. I've reset it twice, restarted with add-ons disabled. All with the same result. (I just clicked on the Show Details link at the bottom of this page, and nothing happened.

  • Is there a way to disable/restrict access to Help Restart with Add-ons Disabled or just to Help altogether?

I have students who use Help>Restart with Add-ons Disabled to disable add-ons, reset things, and go into Safe Mode. I'd like to be able to disable their ability to do so. Is this possible? I am also using a product called Fortres 101, which is a file security application. I can use it to limit file access to read only or even no access. If there are certain files that Firefox uses to allow access to these options, then maybe I can use these file names and make them read only or no access.

Note that you would only have to hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox to start in Safe Mode.
Any restriction added via an extension can easily be bypassed by knowledgeable users.

  • I recently started Firefox with Add-ons disabled in an attempt to discover why it is loading so slowly. Now, the Add-ons aren't loading automatically. Prior to starting in Safe Mode everything was working perfectly Thank you for your help!

    Firefox 4.0.1

try the 15 - 15 option, see in the above link you gave us :

the : Add-ons are only disabled by default '''if they were not explicitly installed by the user'''. '''So if an external application places an add-on into the user’s profile directory, it is disabled by default'''.

  • How can I get my pay statements on the ADP portal to show up? I've restarted with add-ons disabled, and other browsers work; is this a Java or Flash issue?

    http://portal.adp.com/ -> Pay & Taxes -> Pay Statements
There's a list of pay statements with links (blue text) from each pay date. If I click one, all these links turn to purple text, and I get taken to a page that it supposed to have a pay statement, but just has a big blank area where the statement should be. I'm pretty sure all my plugins are up to date.
Unfortunately, you need to have an account with ADP to check this out. Everyone else in my department who uses Firefox has had the same problem, though. It seems to be recent -- within the last month or two. Could it have something to do with Firefox updates? Again, it works on Chrome and Explorer.

I had the same problem - started with Firefox 23. If I log in to adp portal at https://portal.adp.com/public/index.htm and try to click on a single pay stub, all pay stubs become highlighted and I get a blank page. However, if I log into directly to Ipay at https://ipay.adp.com/iPay/login.jsf (same login and password gets me in), I have no problem viewing my individual stubs. Company says it is a problem with Adobe 11 (which works fine with IE).

  • Just updated to the newest version of Firefox and it keeps crashing when I open the browser. I tried opening it with add-ons disabled and it still keeps crashing. Crash ID: bp-03b36d11-304e-4f80-ab9e-79b7f2111223

I just updated to the newest version of firefox for my mac laptop. It keeps crashing when I open the browser and does so even in safe mode. Laptop is about two years old. Might it be an issue with the OS? I have not updated to Leopard yet.

It seems that the problem is related to fonts.
    (1) How were you updating your operating system ?
If you use *_Software Update_*, hurry up, download and apply the combo updater available from :
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1361
but CAUTION, this update introduce a serious problem with some fonts. At this time the only workaround available is to reinstall 10.6 tyhen apply the combo updater 10.6.6 available from :
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1349
    (2) if you didn't used *_Software Update_*, run a maintenance tool like the free MAINTENANCE available from :
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/index_us.html
Apply it to clear caches files, mainly those dedicated to fonts.
It would be also a good idea to check the health of your fonts with FontBook.

  • I updated to Firefox 7 and now the scrollwheel on my touchpad doesn't work. Have tried updating my device driver, and restarting with add ons disabled. Please help!

    OS- Windows 7
Upgraded from Firefox 3. I tried updating to FF 4 a while ago and had the same problem, so I went back to 3. Decided it was time to upgrade and the problem recurred. Please help!

Try to modify the pref <b>ui.trackpoint_hack.enabled</b> on the about:config page from the default value -1 to 0 or 1 to see if that makes the scroll pad work.
To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
*Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
*Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
*Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
*Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)

  • In the "Help" pull-down, is there a way to disable (gray out) the "Restart with Add-ons Disabled" so that a security extension can not be bypassed?

The extension that I am using is "Public Fox" 1.09.

Note that you would only have to hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox to start in Safe Mode.

  • Internet Explorer error when running my demo

I created a demo, an interactive software simulation and a quiz in Captivate. I published it and then zipped it up and took the zip file over to the media folder in Microsoft's LMS or LCDS. When I preview or run it, I continually get Internet Explorer script errors. It seems to get it at each slide. I can say Yes through each error and the each piece runs correctly. I get an object oriented error, a null is null 0 or not an object and and object required error depending on which piece I am viewing. I have done all the various things that are suggested to do when you get Internet Explorer script errors. It runs fine in captivate. I created a quick demo in Camtasia and it runs fine. I have talked to Microsoft and they can't seem to help me. Has anyone used this tool or run into this before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. BTW I am running Internet Explorer 8, XP OS with service pack 3 installed.

    Hello,
Perhaps I misunderstand, but why did you zip it up yourself instead of having it zipped by Captivate? For uploading to our LMS I always choose that option, worth trying not?

  • Internet connectivity circle keeps running with all apps closed in IOS 7.1

Please help. Internet connectivity circle keeps running with all apps closed in IOS 7.1.
This only started to happen after the iOS 7.1 update !
Happened twice. Goes away after restarting the phone.

I can confirm all bugs detailed by 'Taxes', above, and would add that Calendar suffers from similar 'swipe' issues to Safari!
Doesn't anyone sit down and 'play' before release to check if these bugs have been exterminated?

  • My charter webmail will NOT load after playing around with add-ons. FREAKING OUT!

My entire charter webmail page is GREY & BLANK! I don't know what I did but I was playing around with add-ons including AD Block, etc. I have removed anything I added but it is still GREY & BLANK. I can NOT get into my mail. HELP!!!

    I don't think it's your network ...
    Try this...
From the Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
    Click:  Remove All Website Data
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If it was a cookies issue, that may help.
And in case you aren't aware, when you have trouble with sites loading, trying emptying the Safari cache.
Back to the menu bar, click Safari > Empty Cache
Or Command + Option + E on your keyboard.
As for Peer Guardian. Best to avoid third party firewall blockers.
Your Firewall settings are located in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Very important to keep your system software up to date. Back to System Preferences > Software Update > Scheduled Check
Select:  Check for updates.  Best to select Daily from the pop up menu. Then select:  Download updates automatically.
You'll see a dialog box on the Desktop when there are updates available to be installed.

  • Why is Firefox intruding and sending updates when auto updates are turned off? This constant update wreaks havoc with add-ons

Why is Firefox intruding and sending updates when auto updates are turned off? This constant updating wreaks havoc with add-ons
Why is Firefox violating my computer?

I left "automatic updates" for Firefox UNCHECKED and left download when updates are found UNCHECKED. " Ask me wha I want to do" is CHECKED.
In English, that means don't automatically update and if updates are found ASK.
It does NOT mean ignore all the instructions and download!
