Internet Explorer randomly shows table spaces

Hi!
I have tested this site in Safari, Firefox, and IE on both
MAC and PC platforms. Everything looks good on the mac side, but
when viewed on a PC in IE, random spaces are showing up between my
sliced images. IE on a pc is the only place I'm having a problem.
Please check out this link and let me know if you have any
ideas. I am lost.

You're in quirks mode because of the XML preface:
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
Remove that, and all browsers should be in standards mode,
which will
make your life easier. Then validate the page, and fix a
bunch of the
errors you have, which will also cause problems for you in
some browsers.

'''moderator fixed the title of this thread''

    Hi,
Could you explain the issue with Firefox Desktop or Mobile?
In the Question you mentioned "Internet Explorer" and in the Thread product you mention "Firefox Android"
If its Firefox Android, try the below steps
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
The Firefox cache temporarily stores images, scripts, and other parts of websites while you are browsing. <br>
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies, do the following:
#Tap the menu icon located at the top right corner. This is the icon with 3 bars. On older Android devices you'll have to press the hardware menu key and then tap More.
    #Tap '''Settings'''.
#After that, you will be taken to the settings screen. In the settings screen, look under the section '''''Privacy & Security''''' and select '''Clear private data'''.
#You will then be taken to a list of what can be cleared. Select the following 2 for deletion:
    #*Cookies & active logins
    #*Cache
#After those have been selected, tap the '''Clear data''' button to actually clear the cache and cookies.
Did this help you with your problems? Please let us know!

  • Netscape / Internet Explorer cannot show iweb pages

My iweb uploaded to .mac website looks great on Safari.
Then had a look at the same site on Netscape and Internet Explorer, (haven't tried mozilla/firefox yet)
The photos didn't show up at all, no navigation menu, no slideshow button, lousy formatting
    What's going on ?
Shouldn't a web site be seen by ALL browsers ?
Is there any way to create a website with Iweb that works on all browsers?
Is Iweb only for the Mac community ?

my site on anything but Safari was a disaster. After hours and hours of putting it together to use as my personal work website I was ******!!! Called Apple but that was pretty useless... hodgepodge information about how each browser is proprietary and Apple can only develop and attest for iWeb and Safari. If it only displays on Safari, I believe it is a utterly useless program. Apple suggested I learn HTML for designing a site... what? I am still learning how to use my Mac and iWeb, if I was that computer savy I may as well just stick with PC. Anyway, I went through my site and did away with a lot of "decorations" such as shadowing and fancy text styles and some picture frames... and it did make a very big improvement, still looks a little different than what I see on my MBP but acceptable none the less. iWeb is a great concept and I hope Apple really tries to get the kinks out of it... I can run Windows programs on my Mac now, why the heck can't I see my website on Explorer... for a computer geek it can't be that difficult. Chop-Chop Apple.

  • Page not displaying in Safari and Internet explorer but showing up in Mozila

    Hi,
I bought this pre-made template which I would like to use for my website. When I upload it to my website and try to open the pages like "Contact us", "News", "Team members" and so on, they are not displaying in Safari and Interner Explorer, but they DO show up in Mozilla. Also, the pages I created myself do show up in all browsers. I really need to fix this problem as I already put a lot of effort to create my web site and now it is not working online. I would really appreciate some help. Here is the link to the original template:

    Thanks,

The tag should read "myself" (no quotes) not "_self".

For cross OS browser compatibility (and no "embed" tag code) you should consider using javascript:

  • Internet Explorer limitation for Web Dynpro Table Data

    Hello everybody,
I am having a trouble while trying to display a Web Dynpro table in Internet Explorer. This table is bound to a Context Node that is filled up manually with code, and for example if I passed more than 116 elements to the node the table only shows 116. Since this issue only happens with IE, I consider that it is related to the client part, something related with JavaScript. Any idea/suggestion?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Jesus

    Hello Siva,
Thank you very much for your response. There is no message error, it is just not showing the entire node content, the weirdest thing is that even though WD is client independent this only happens with Internet Explorer. It works properly with any other browser such as Mozilla FF, Chrome and Safari browsers when the table has above 116 elements. When the table has below 116 elements it works properly with any browser. I have tried with IE6.0 and 7.0 using NWDS 7.0 and EP 7.0 SP 18.
The table is child of a Group element which in turn is child of the Root Element.
    Best Regards,
    Baez

  • Trouble viewing in Internet Explorer

    Hello,
I created a website in Dreamweaver CS3 and everything was
going fine until I uploaded it and discovered that most of the
content could not be viewed (mostly the flash stuff). I then
discovered that Dreamweaver had randomly inserted <noscrript>
tags for my flash content, so I deleted the <noscript> I then
viewed the page using Firefox in Dreamweaver and all the flash
content had doubled up (it was showing replica images stacked on
top of each other), I then uploaded it and discovered that you can
view it just fine in Firefox and other web browsers but NOT
Internet Explorer which shows the content on the firs page but does
not show 90% of the content (all flash) on the other pages.
    The issues
    • Firefox (within Dreamweaver) displays doubled up
images after I deleted the <noscript> tags.
    • Most of the content of the site can not be viewed
    with Internet Explorer
The web address for the site is www.behel-witham.co.uk
I really appreciate all your help
    Thanks
    Adam

    > I then discovered that Dreamweaver had randomly inserted
    > <noscrript> tags for my flash content
You are mistaken. DW didn't insert anything randomly. The
    <noscript> tags
are in systematic locations and they are there for a good
    reason. By
hacking into this you have destroyed the accessability of the
    page.
Revert to the original code, and post a link to the page,
    please.

  • Swap Image File Name Wrongly Displays In Internet Explorer

How can I get the file name to change with the picture, or
better yet, keep Internet Explorer from showing the file name in
the first place. This should be running in the background. Viewers
do not need to know what I have name the files anyway. None of the
other browsers show this information. My website is:
    http://www.alanwhelpley.com/
Thank you for any help you can give me.

    Hello again
Okay, I am at a loss to explain exactly *WHY* RoboHelp is populating the tag with the file name, but I am seeing it on my end as well. I've tried generating with nearly every conceivable option enabled and disabled and it seems to insist on populating the tag with the file name. Go figure.
I did seem to have come up with a reasonably simple workaround though.
Use the built in Multi-File Find and replace utility to find all occurrences of alt="" and replace with alt=" ". Note the space between the quotes. It seems that if a space exists in the tag between the quotes that RoboHelp leaves it as is during the generation process.
I would also strongly encourage you to report the behavior as a bug via the bug report. (link to that is in my sig)
    Cheers... Rick

  • Oracle forms 11g running forms on internet explorer error

Hi , this is abhishek I am new to oracle forms 11g . My question is that when I run the forms 11g on internet explorer it shows an error . The error is too many tries.
first I like to clarify that before running the forms i start the weblogic server ,along with admin server for weblogic and opmn managed components, i give the user name and password to start the weblogic server, everything starts smoothly . even I have jre 1_6_29 installed to start the servlet . Main problem starts when the java runs the internet explorer browser then a box appears asking for user name and password and database connect string , then after putting the username and password it again asks for the username and password. It happens three times and after that an error appears in a dialog box which shows too many tries . I also checked the net configuration asistant with the local net service name configuration there it shows the service name which is orcl.Home and then TCP --->Host name is localhost with 1521 as standard port number --> yes perform the test and the result is written connecting test successful . what is wrong with the instance , the http listener is working perfectly then why this error is coming, is there something to do with the browser , but the browser is supporting java very well .. please help

I have found the file but it does not have any path except forms_path,oracle_home,webutil_config,etcCurious, my default.env had the following default TNS_ADMIN entry:
    # TNS Entry to locate the database
TNS_ADMIN=D:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\configI modified this entry to point to the location where my tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files are located. I use a generic location and share them accross installed Oracle products rather than maintain seperate copies of these files in each Oracle Home. For example, I commented out the original entry and added a new one.

Hello, can you please provide the link of the offending page which is working fine on Internet Explorer, but showing an 'Application Error' so that we can take a look. Typically this happens if the website owner has some code specific to IE that is not cross-platform.
