Internet explorer - Title bar

Hi All,
We have couple of WD ABAP appraisals deployment on our ESS/MSS Portal.
We are currently having an issue of title bar header being displayed in German which opens in seperate portal window. Pls Check this [attachment|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/download/attachments/113246549/WDABAP_Appraisals-+Titlebar.JPG]
Is there any possibility of converting this text into English ??
I have tried all possibilities - iview properties, logon language, IE language etc., But not frutifull.
I have checked in backend se80 WD Components "HAP_START_PAGE_UI", "HAP_START_PAGE_POWL_UI" properties.
Component itselfs is created in DE language and I cannot change as well.
Any pointers would be highly appreciated.

Closed, SAP has provided solution
LPD_CUST, select launchpad
HAP_GENERIC_UI and expend 'Employee document', there you will see in
your system the text 'Mitarbeiterdokument', select it you should then beable to cange this text to 'Employee Document'

To change the title of the browser go to:
System Administration > System Configuration > Service Configuration > Portal Runtime > Central Configuration.
Scroll down to: portal.html.head.title
and change to required name.
Do restart ur portal for the changes to take effect.
Revert back if changes have taken place or not?
In addition,
U need to restart portal server ( logoff will not help)

Internet Explorer Tool Bar

I'm a RH X5 user, and somehow when I promote a new release of
my project, I have lost the Internet Explorer tool bar that is at
the top of the screen (File/Edit/View/Favorites/etc.). I have two
other projects, and they are just fine. I am at a loss as to where
to look within my project to fix this. I have compared each and
just can't find the answer. Can anyone help point me into the right
direction?

When composing new email (gmail) tool bar showing fonts, colors, bold, italics, underline, etc. is missing? When using Internet Explorer the bar is there.

When using Firefox, the tool bar above the "compose mail" window is missing. I cannot change fonts, use bold, italics, underline, change colors, align margins, etc. When using Internet Explorer the bar IS there but I prefer Firefox, as it is much faster. My operating system is Vista.

Thanks Tony T1, I have tried using the Mail -> Format drop downs...
... and using the format toolbar...
... and in both cases, Bold and Italic is greyed out... (bit hard to see in the second screenshot, but it is, honest!)
The mail message is def set as Rich Text, which you can see in the first screenshot, as the option to Make Plain Text is there...

Disabling Internet Explorer Information Bar

After disabling Internet Explorer Information Bar in
dreamweaver using the "Insert Mark of the Web" my links on the page
no longer works even though there is a hand displaying showing that
there is a link to *.pps, *.wmv, *.flv there but it would not open
the link, when I removed the Insert Mark of the Web then it worked
but the Information Bar would appear. Please, help if anyone know
why this happenned and if there is anyway to fix this issue.

Help needed with Internet Explorer Address Bar

Hi, i have internet explorer 6, and usually i can press down on the address bar and show past visited websites. However when i delete history as well as cookies, there remains some website links that i haven't visited for a long time. For example when i type b, a bbc link appears from the bar. However it doesn't appear if i don't press b. What's also weird is that some times the bar shows some word files, pictures or folders that i have visited on my desktop and from other locations on the computer, as well as searches on places such as google as well as downloaded files. So i was wondering how can i delete this, so that for example when i type www. it doesn't give me the option of weather or a website called www1.bottomdollar.com. I hope that is clear, basically i would like to delete everything from the address bar. I would really appreciate it if someone can help me on this. Thanks

As Stefan has suggested in the previous posting you can delete this links in IE under:
Tools Internet options --> delete cookies, delete files, clear history.
Dont forget to mark the option delete all offline content under delete files.
Furthermore if you want to clear the AutoComplete please go to the Content tab.
There you can find the buttons in the personal information area.

Acrobat Add-On Not in Internet Explorer

If I go to Manage Add-Ons in IE (version 9 currently), There is no Adobe PDF Add-On under "Show->All add-ons". I have uninstalled, used the Adobe cleaner, re-installed, and it's still not there. Any ideas how to fix?

I think this is less about the JRE and more about the browser and its settings. Refer to the Microsoft documentation for more information about how, why, and when the info bar will appear. Here is one example:

Display of internal hostname on title bar of Internet Explorer

We are facing a problem regarding host name which gets displayed on the title bar of an Internet Explorer (IE).
We have installed cFolders on a different server than SRM (internal host name for cFolders: <b>(FQDN Name1).</b> During bid processing when bidder clicks on the collaboration bid invitation link from bid invitation, it connects to cFolders server. At this time it displays internal host name on the title bar of IE on collaboration web page <b>(i.e.FQDN Name1).</b> As per security concerns, internal host name should not be exposed to external users. Instead, it should have an external host name <b>(i.e. FQDN Name 2)</b> at the same place.

I'm quite sure the first is requested already on the SQL Developer Exchange. Go there and add your vote and comments to add weight for possible future implementation.
At least until then, you can do as I: mark your connections with the username (like "DB_X - User_Y").
To change users in a worksheet, issue:

Hiding internet explorer bars in 10g forms

Can anyone tell me that how to hide internet explorer bars in 10g forms so that i can veiw my forms applications with applet only on my how screen. i m not talking about full screen view.

You have 3 options:
1. Use separateFrame=true as Francois suggested.
However, this always keeps an idle browserwindow open which cannot be closed. This is not acceptable for most users.
2. use Javascript to start Forms in a browser window without browser attributes.
You can download a utility from www.sourceforge.net, project TransferWare, package FormsStart.
3. You might use Java WebStart instead of a webbrowser to start Forms without a browser.

Note, however, that this is not supported by Oracle. It works for us and we have implemented it with one of our customers, they are very happy with it.

I am trying to create a website online. The sitebuilder does not have it's navigation bar. It does with Internet Explorer

I am using 2 website builders online -Leagueapps and Teamthing - to build a sports league management site. Both have wysiwyg pagebuilders. Both are missing the navigation/menu bar.
I tried Internet Explorer and the navigation/menu bar is there. However I get lots of pop up advertisements even though pop up blocker is enabled.
I prefer Firefox as a browser and would welcome any advice as to how to rectify this glitch.

Firefox needs 32-bit plugins, so you'll need to install 32-bit Java for Firefox.
No, you can't change Firefox from 32-bt to 64-bit. There is a Nightly 64-bit version (alpha) of Firefox, but it is used only to test for regressions until development is resumed.

Spry Menu Bar Horizontal Problem in Internet Explorer

I'm having a problem with a spry menu bar. It works fine in Firefox and Google Chrome, but in Internet Explorer the submenus shift to the right.

I want to put a row of my favourites at the top of the screen like the favourites bar in internet explorer !!

Yes, you can rearrange / move the elements of the default Firefox Toolbars and combine to save space by using the Customize mode, see this. <br />

As far as the Site Advisor add-on - with add-on Toolbars your results will vary depending upon the Toolbar add-on. Some Toolbar developers do a minimal job and their product isn't as customizable to the extent that Firefox provides for; where other Toolbar add-ons were done the "right way" and they are as customizable as the default Firefox Toolbars.

How to stop the information bar cmoing in the Internet Explorer with java

iam new to this forum and posting a question on java application where i had a problem.
I work in a software company. we have developed an application and it is in production and we had a small problem. we have deifferent kinds of reports te users can get dynamicalty based on theirn requet parameters. so when we are deployingthe application on server and accessing it from the client machine(bothe the server and client are diferent i mean different machines) they get an information bar that
"To help protect your security, Internet Explorer blocked this site from downloading files to your computer. Click here for options". and for this we have given them the solutions for setting the security features for the
Internet Explorer . but they want it to be done thru program such that they dont want to see that message. i need a small help for this.
It would be very help ful for me in my carreer if i get a solution for this.

I'm not 100% sure, but doesn't all applets have the same popup bar? I guess you can tell your customers to turn off their popup blocker beforehand. (This is what my uni does with WebCT Vista)

Spry Menu Bar not showing up in Internet Explorer 7

So, after hours of playing with CSS code yesterday and today,
I finally got my Spry navigation bar laid out the way I would like
it to display in Safari. It look a very long time for me to
customize it the way I wanted it, but it the end, it turned out
fine.
Then... to my horror, I jumped into Internet Explorer 7, and
there is no navigation bar to be seen. I've heard of some problems
when viewing Spry menus in different browsers, but I never heard of
the menu simply not being displayed.
Any ideas on why this would occur? You can view the page I'm

I am sorry, but I do not see a SpryMenuBar in your document nor do i see a problem with the menubar that you do have. I have tested in IE7+

Horizontal Menu Bar - Not displaying correctly in Internet Explorer

My issues are occuring in Internet Explorer 8 and 7, haven't tested earlier versions.
I am currently using DW CS5, Spry 1.6.1

The menu bar as viewed in Firefox is correct. In Internet Explorer the menu bar is left justified, hides visited links, and lists horizontal menu items in reverse order.
I work for a Women's Shelter in Canada, as the Information Systems Manager. We don't have the funds to hire someone to build a website and it was decided and I quote "You know computers, you can buld the website". I couldn't get them to understand the analogy that just because a Neurosurgeon can use a scalpel he isn't a Cardiothoracic Surgeon... needless to say, I am floudering on this menu bar. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The red coloured line causes your menu to be displayed the wrong way round in FF. IE shows the menu as you have listed it with Contact Us as the first item.
Advice:
change the float to left so that the listed items start on the left hand side
change the listed items in the order that you want them to appear.
