Internet Links via Gateway using proxy?

Does anyone know how to open the internet links through the Gateway with
using proxy?
If it is worked, how to include/exclude particular URL/domain/subdomain(s)
in order to use/not use the gateway proxy?
Thanks....
Jay

Have a look at the page of the admin console under Gateway Management/Manage Gateway Profile. There are four fields which affect how the gateway uses proxies: DNS Domains and Subdomains, Use Intranet Web Proxy, Use Web Proxy Enabled and Don't Use Web Proxy Enabled.
In DNS Domains and Subdomains, you can list all the intranet domains and subdomains that will be accessed via specific proxies. The syntax for each line is
domain_name [web_proxy1:port1] | subdomain1 [web_proxy2:port2] ...
On the first line you specify the default domain and subdomain. Any requested URL's that do not include a subdomain and domain are treated by the gateway as belonging to this subdomain and domain for URL rewriting and proxying purposes.
On the last line, you can specify something like '* myproxy:8080', which says that all domains/subdomains other that those listed on lines above will be accessed via the proxy 'myproxy' on port 8080.
(Have a look at chapter 8 of the Administration Guide for examples of these entries.)
If a proxy is indicated for a requested URL by the entries in this list, the gateway will access the URL via the nominated proxy subject to the following conditions:
If you check Use Intranet Web Proxy, the gateway will use the proxy unless you've put the URL in the Don't Use Web Proxy Enabled list, in which case it will send the request directly.
If you haven't checked Use Intranet Web Proxy, the gateway will use the proxy only if you have entered the URL in the Use Web Proxy Enabled list, otherwise it will send the request directly.

  • IOS updates via wireless using proxy

When trying to perform on device (iPad and iPhone) iOS updates via wireless and having a proxy configured, the update request is sent direct and not via the configured proxy. In a corporate enviroment the firewall blocks this request. Any ideas?
    Thanks

No, the over-the-air method downloads only the incremental changes to save time and system load, while the wired, iTunes, method only does the complete replacement approach.  You cannot control what each does in the way of downloading.
You might try downloading and saving the file rather than installing, and then make the file available on your server for employees to access rather than download.

  • Connecting to Remote Desktop using proxy and Remote Desktop Gateway?

I have setup a Remote Desktop Gateway server using Windows Server 2012 R2. I am using the Remote Desktop Gateway as an intermediary between to provide the remote desktop session over 443 since 3389 is blocked at many client locations.
However, I ran into a problem with a client who's using a web proxy.
Is is possible to configure Remote Desktop to connect via web proxy? If so, how? If not does any one have any suggestions on how to provide a Remote Desktop session via 443 over proxy for situations where you don't control the client's PC or network? Does RemoteApps
allow for access via web proxy when using RD Gateway?
    The error message is below:
Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because the web proxy server requires authentication. To allow unauthenticated traffic to an RD Gateway server through your web proxy server, contact your network administrator.
    Thanks for any help!

    Hi,
My suggestion is to setup a RD Web Access server and make it available for your clients via proxy.

  • My iMac keeps on losing internet connection. Webpages get stuck after a minute or so. If I check the internet connection via diagnostics it seems to work just fine. Others, like the iPad use the same wifi connection and never fail. What can I do?

Running 10.6.8 on Intel dual core iMac, it keeps on losing internet connection. Webpages get stuck after a minute or so. If I check the internet connection via diagnostics it seems to work just fine. Others, like the iPad use the same wifi connection and never fail. What can I do?

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • Can I share my internet connection via wifi AND use my wireless printer at the same time?

Not completely familiar with  wifi capabilities. I have this new setup in my office. I want to share my iMac internet connection via wifi so I can text and check emails using my iPhone (no cell service inside the building). Which works fine. However, I now cannot print wirelessly to my HP printer (LaserJet Pro 400 color). Once Internet sharing is off, I can print just fine. Any other wireless options, or just go get a long USB cable?

    Hi,
It is not a multitasking printer, other devices may keep it therefore the best option in this case: connect it to your wireless router and all devices which are conntected to this router can sahre the printer.
    Regards.

  • Can AirPort express be used for AirPlay with my home stereo, and to give my Xbox 360 a WIRED internet connection via ethernet, simultaneously?

I am considering buying an airport but I am not sure if it will work how I would like it to.  I need it for two things.  The first would be to use for AirPlay with my home stereo.  The second would be to use as a way to give my Xbox 360 a WIRED internet connection via the ethernet port.  I would like to do these things simultaneously, rather than constantly changing the configuration and being limited to a single function each time I do so.
    Thanks!

The 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) can be configured as a wireless Ethernet bridge. In this configuration, it would join an existing wireless network and its Ethernet port would be enabled for a wired client, like your Xbox 360. This configuration would also support AirPlay simultaneously.

  • Why can't I use my mac as a WiFi extender if it is receiving it's internet connection via WiFi?

Now I'm not the most tech savvy person, but why is it I can't use my mac as a WiFi extender if it is getting its internet signal via WiFi? Would it mess up the original signal it's receiving?

You can do it.. but we do not recommend the use of a computer to do a task that a cheap router can handle better..
But what you need is a second wifi card. In a Mac there are a number of ways to achieve that.. without card slots .. USB wireless sticks that are Mac compatible is one way.
You set up the computer with ICS (internet connection sharing) just look it up.
You receive signal on whichever network you have .. Ethernet being hugely superior of course.. and then the computer can act as router/bridge to duplicate that connection via any other network connection it has.. on a Mac with thunderbolt.. you could use a second ethernet via adapter.. or wifi with USB stick etc.
However.. a cheap second hand Apple router will work far better doing the same wireless extend.. without requiring your computer to be on 24/7 for any other client to use.

  • Trojans on Macs via Internet links possible?

    Hi,
Still a bit new to Macs and so far they've been excellent. No crashes. But I'm wondering if it's possible to have installed a trojan (such as spyware or keylogger, etc.) by clicking on an internet link. A poster on a discussion forum where the link was located, said it had a trojan_exploit attached - and I don't know if that poster is a windows user or a mac user..
So, has anyone heard of Intel Macs being infected with malware/spyware like this and thus having their personal info, location, etc. made vulnerable? And if so, how would one find and remove it? I have ClamX but it doesn't scan the entire hard drive at once so it seems kind of difficult to know where to start.
    Thanks.

    Hi, Cowfreek.
AFAIK, the "drive by" type of infection you describe has not been seen for Macs to-date. However, that's not to say people aren't trying to be the first to develop a major Trojan or virus for Mac OS X.
See my "Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware" FAQ for my recommendations as well as a list of some recent Mac OS X security threats that have emerged, including Trojans, rootkits, and spyware. The FAQ also addresses some of the usual arguments against installing an anti-virus solution on a Mac that often arise in discussions of this topic.
While some believe that anti-virus solutions are not required on a Mac, I feel that's ignoring the fact that threats are emerging and that security exposures continue to be found, albeit eventually closed, in Mac OS X, as in any other operating system. Even Apple now recommends that one should "check for viruses."
    Good luck!

Hi I have had the same problem but think I've cracked it with the help of the IT guys at work.
    Steps:
    1)Goto Wifi wizzard,
    2) find the network you want to connect to.
    3) Click on options
    4) click on 'define as access point'
    5) enter the key when prompted. Go back to main screen.
6)Now goto tools, (from main screen), settings, connection, access points.
Find your network, click on options and then edit. Check your details are correct.
7)Click on options, advanced settings. Type in your proxy address and port number. Get back to the main screen.
8)Click on the web icon. Find your network. You might have to scroll past the standard gprs networks.
    9) Surf (hopefully).
This worked for me. I hope it will for you too. Not an expert but just determined.

  • Win2012R2 VM internet access via WIFI fine but not through a client's Web Proxy Server

    Hi
I have a number of VMs running on my win 8.1 laptop. They normally access the internet via the host WIFI in a bridged config.  No real issues tho sometimes it takes a reboot to clear out any stale DNS  entries.
Now when I go on a client site my internet access on the host laptop is via a web proxy on a LAN connection. If I want this same access running on a standalone "all in" VM , I have a issue since it does not know about the web proxy and it is not
even on the client's LAN . No internet, means no Azure or Office 365.....
So this doesn't make any difference
Is there a way around this .. do I need share a folder/drive   or authenticate myself on the Proxy, from the VM.
    Anyone had this issue?

    Hi Daniel,
    >>Now when I go on a client site my internet access on the host laptop is via a web proxy on a LAN connection.
"LAN connection" means physical NIC (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller) ?
" web proxy " means adding a proxy server IP in IE ?
Bounding the NIC (Realtek PCIe ) to external virtual switch then connect all VMs to that external virtual switch ,still can not access ?
