SAP Internet Mail Gateway for MS Exchange 2003 Server
Hi,
Has anybody successfully configured the IMG to work with MS Exchange 2003?
We have our 4.6C currently configured to talk to Exchange 2000 through SXC
Note 594428 - SXC: Exchange 2003 Server is not supported
Solution
R/3 Basis Release 3.1I to 4.6D:
Use IMG 4.6D and sendmail instead of the SXC (see note 101573), or
Upgrade your SAP system to Web Application Server (WAS) 6.10 or later and then use the SMTP plugin.
We only use outbound mail from SAP and this is sent to intranet users only, we are not planning on upgrading for a at least a year and would like to avoid installing another mail server.
Note 363154 - Internet mail gateway: use other MTA than Sendmail
This note suggests that any MTA (Mail Transfer Agent) can be used so long as it can be called from the command line, Exchange is an MTA, anybody now how to do a command line call for Exchange?
I have read the documentation
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/0c/39c93589c5ab53e10000009b38f839/frameset.htm
Jasperhi,
we are in the process of configuring the Internet Mail Gateway on R/3 4.6c on Unix platform.
I have created the RFC Destinations in SM59 and also checked the Test Connection and its working fine. I then did the Unix configuration and went on to the check whether the configuration was successful in SO01 by sending a sample text message to my company's mail address. but i did not recieve any mails on my Microsoft Outlook, instead the count under the errors column increased by one.
on checking the status for the sent message in SO01, its saying "No Delivery to [email protected](for reason, see long text)... but there's no long text either...
Can anyone please let me know the reasons for it and it would also be really helpful if someone can let me know whether i have missed any configuration settings.
Also, can someone send the list of parameters that are to be entered for the Unix configuration under mlsomadm mailgw.ini, so that i can verify whether i have entered the parameters correctly....
Kindly revert back at the earliest...
Thanks & Regards

Internet Mail Gateway Mlsomadm Lunix Ver.
Hi,
I am looking mlsomadm (mail gateway) lunix version. basically our Sulation Manager is running in Lunix how we found that file in Lunix Ver. I tried to find that file in marketplace.... but I couldn't found out
Please any one have idea
ThanksOIC, I am sorry i didn't tell you the back story... anyway!!! summary is that
For example you are running XI 3.0 (Exchange Infrastructure) and trying to setup for Mail Gateway SAPconnect
If you mail to some one using tr: So01 or SOST I am talking about internal mail (SAPconnect)
as you know that we have to configure SCOT and INT nodes such as I create Nodes (IMAIL)
when you create INT nodes you need RFC connection
when you create RFC connection you need specific path to define mail file from unix structure
such as I create RFC using SM59 under TCP/IP connection and name of RFC connection SIMG_MLUNXSND
when you configure RFC connection you need to define program which is running in directory structure
/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run/mlunxsnd
You not only define this program you have to configure 2 others mail files including mlunxsnd file as well
Other 2 files are mlsomadm, mlsomail
and you writedown small shell scrip in Unix to configure that file like mlsomadm.sh and execute it...
NOW!!! my question is that I done that all procedure follow thease thing in DV,QA,PR in R/3 and XI as well working fine done...becuase I download and unpack thease files from service.sap.com/swdc
Now i am going to configure samething in Sulation Manager and copied thease files in Lunix box but it give me an error binnary error, noting explain much detial just like that...
so I thing its only becuase thease files are UNIX base not LUNIX base... now come back to my question...
how do i found out thease files for LUNIX base....
I belived you pretty much cleared now!!!
again thanks and appricated your time....

SAP to OUTLOOK MAIL - GATEWAY Problems...
Hi Gurus;
I want to send email , sap to outlook. We use sap on the windows os. I created RFC with SM59 and created SAPConnect note with SCOT.
But I dont know create gateway process. Please help me.
My ref. shortcut : /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/09/07/sending-e-mail-from-abap--version-46d-and-lower--api-interface
Thanks for everything.
Best regards.Hi Melih,
The problem here is that you are trying to use the internet mail gateway and Sendmail to relay mails on a Windows OS (usually to Exchange).
The main problem is that Sendmail is not a native Windows program. So the Blog that you were following was not correct for Windows OS.
Sendmail is a native Unix program and as such is called with switches. The IMG was designed to communicate with Sendmail with the follow command to correctly parse the mail (sendmail -i -f<SENDER_ADDRESS>) to Sendmail.
So you have to follow the blog below and use another command line mailer to correctly communicate with Exchange or any other SMTP mail server.
Please refer to the following blog to enable emails to be sent from SAP connect:-
[Email from SAP - 4.6* using MS Exchange|http://it.toolbox.com/wiki/index.php/Email_from_SAP_-_4.6C_using_MS_Exchange_2003]
And your problem will be resolved -
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs is configured as Internal other than Anonymous from internet mails
Hi Admin,
We want to restrict distribute group not to receive internet mails, but the internet mails are still going through even if the option"only senders inside my organize" is selected. The part of mail header is below,
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthSource: myexchange.com
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs: Internal
X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthMechanism: 10
The value of X-MS-Exchange-Organization-AuthAs is configured as "Internal" other than "Anonymous" from internet mails. Maybe this is the root cause, but I don't know how to resolve it. Currently the internet mails are first checked by
our symantec mail gateway then transfer to our CAS server (myexchange.com) as above.
Could somebody instruct me on this?
Many thanks in advanced.
Leon
LeonDid you check "Externally Secured" on the anonymous receive connector or add the ip address of the Symantec Gateway to the allowed IP anti-spam list in Exchange?

How to confirm the alerts automatically in the internet mail?
Hi,gurus:
I wanna know how I confirm the alerts automatically in the internet mail. Now we have to navigate to the alert inbox to confirm the alert, but can I do it in the internet mail? I have confirued the parameter in ALRTCATDEF->CONFIGURE->SETTING->INBOUND PROCESSING,but it didn't work.
Thanks in advance.hi,
I checked the library, and it says:
Confirming Alerts by Internet Mail
When an alert is sent by Internet mail, the Internet address of the alert user entered in alert configuration is entered as the Reply To address of the mail. An alert ID is inserted into the text of the mail. When the recipient answers the mail from the alert system, the alert is confirmed automatically. Inbound processing sends a status mail to the sender stating either that the alert has been confirmed successfully, or that an error has occurred. The alert ID must be included in the body of the reply mail.
My question is: How to reply the mail?Where do I write the the alert ID?any ideas? -
"Internet Mail - Problem during delivery processing" email received
Every email I'm receiving as of this morning is accompanied by an email from [email protected], entitled "Internet Mail - Problem during delivery processing"
Is this an issue on the Mac server side or a problem with my Mail app?
Many thanks in advance. My Wife and I both have an Ipad and an iPhone, I use an iMac and my wife a MacBook Pro.
I have this problem with all my devices.
My wife has NOT got this problem.
We both use a [email protected] email acount.
Just compared the settings:
For "Incoming server" I have p03-imap.mail.me.com
My Wife has p02-imap.mail.me.com .... and has not got this problem.
I have setup a new rule for incoming mails (for the meantime):
move all incoming emails from [email protected] to trash and delete it.
Works fine for now,......until APPLE deals with the problem.

WRT54G no internet default gateway
My WRT54G was working fine until my TiVo couldn't find my router anymore. I got the message "Unable to locate gateway". I logged onto 192.168.1.1 and my internet default gateway was 0.0.0.0. I have reset the router many times, but the gateway address still doesn't come up.
The Internet Ip address depends on the Service Provider you are getting ....
So if you are using Cable Connection try this ...
Access the setup page of the router by launching an
Browser and type on the address bar, 192.168.1.1 and press enter. When
it prompts for the username and password, leave the username field
empty and provide password as "admin" (Without quotes)
click on ok.
On the main setup page the ""Internet Connection Type"" should be
on ""Obtain IP Automatically - DHCP “. Click on the Save Settings
button.
Now click on the sub tab ""MAC address clone"".
- Click on enable
Click Clone & click save settings
Check WAN Ip on Status page of router ....
If getting Valid Ip .... try going online
If not ... power cycle for 4-5 minutes & then again check the WAN Ip address ..... -

Modifying Connectors for Receiving Internet Mail - Anonymous setting?
I have a mail reflector for my domain to deliver mail on an alternate port, other than 25 because my ISP blocks port 25. I have the following default receive connectors:
Default Client Font End Transport (FrontEnd Transport) - TLS, Basic, Integrated, Exchange users, port 587
Default Client Proxy (Hub Transport) - TLS, Basic, Offer Basic after TLS, Integrated, Exchange Server Auth, Exchange Servers, Exchange users, port 465
Default Front End Transport (FrontEnd Transport) - TLS, Basic, Offer Basic after TLS, Integrated, Exchange server auth, Exchange Servers, Legacy Exchange Servers, Anonymous Users, port 25
Default Hub Transport (Hub transport) - TLS, Basic, Offer Basic after TLS, Integrated, Exchange Server Auth, Exchange Servers, Legacy, Exchange Users, port 2525
Default Outbound Proxy Frontend Transport (Frontend transport) TLS, Enable domain security, Basic, Offer basic after TLS, integrated, Exchange server auth, exchange servers, anonymous, port 717
Issue: When I initially had mail forwarded to port 2525, I received a mail delivery system message: host mail.skincdc.com[69.250.204.88] said: 530 5.7.1 .Client was not authenticated (in reply to MAIL FROM command).
I modified the “Default Hub Transport” connector to allow Anonymous Users in addition to what I already had selected in the security settings. Voila, email is delivered to my exchange server from external domains.
I wasn’t sure if adding Anonymous Users to this connector would pose any issues. In order to try an alternate port, I changed my registrar to port 2626 and created a new receive connector Hub Transport, with only Anonymous
Users and port 2626. I saw the initial connection in my TMG firewall logs, but mail never made it to my exchange server, and I wasn’t receiving the above error message right away as before. Disabling this new rule and modifying the firewall back to port 2525,
email immediately was delivered. So can I just leave my Default Hub Transport receive connector as is with the security settings and Anonymous set? Thanks.
Next….getting email to send out on a different port than 25 to external domains. Still having issues with this one.
-SKHi Slevin
According to your setup you would need to receive emails on different port apart from 25
You can do the following thing
1) Create a dedicated receive connector for your ISP domain
2) Grant relay permission only to your ISP subnet and IP ranges
3) Change the port to your desired number on which you need to receive emails from them
4) Disable the default receive connector since its not required anymore
So the mail-flow for inbound will be in the following type
Inbound
From Internet - Mails comes to your ISP - ISP delivers to your firewall on different port - then it comes to exchange server
Let me know if you have any confusions on this and i will be able to help you further
Remember to mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you Check out my latest blog posts on http://exchangequery.com Thanks Sathish

How to configure sendmail to act as a mail gateway and relay mails???
I installed the Solaris (Intel) v.8 (10/01) in my external network. Now, I want to configure it as a mail server and as a mail gateway between my internal mail host and itself.
I think I have read all documentation which comes in Answerbook2 about mail gateway.
I added some aliases to the aliases file in /etc/mail and executed the newaliases command.
The aliases pointed to my mail host which is in my internal network.
I included the IP address and the name of the mail host in the /etc/hosts
I can telnet the internal mail host and I can connect to it and verify the internal account thru:
mconnect "mail host"
vrfy "account"
But when I do
/usr/lib/sendmail -v "alias" < /dev/null
it translates the alias to the account in the internal mail host but it returns to me
"account" ... User Unknow.
When I try to use the mail server from one client in my internal network (I configure my mail client to use as Outgoing server the server in the external network) to send mails I receive the error:
550 5.7.1 Relaying denied. IP name lookup failed
I create a file called "access" and create the binary called "access.db" (makemap hash access < access), but it doesnt work.
I think that maybe the sendmail.cf doesnt recognize the access file but Im not sure. I have worked with other "sendmail" version under others OS (RedHat Linux) but the files are quite differents.
Would you please help me?I found the way to do it and this is the procedure
How to implement the mail gateway on Solaris 5.8
You have to make changes in 3 different places
1.- Files in /etc/mail (sendmail files)
2.- /etc/hosts file
3.- DNS files and /etc/nsswitch.conf file
1.- Files in /etc/mail
1.1.- Backup your existent sendmail.cf file and copy the main.cf file as
sendmail.cf (cp /etc/mail/main.cf /etc/mail/sendmail.cf)
1.2.- If you want to accept mail for entire domain in your mail gateway (your mail
server is an MX record in the DNS files), youll have to modify the sendmail.cf
file editing the line Dj as Dj$m or if you want to accept just mail for your specific
server you must put Dj$w.$m (be carefull to avoid spaces).
1.3.- Change in the sendmail.cf file the DM parameter adding ddn. It should
looks like DMddn (no spaces anywhere).
1.4.- Insert a line for the Dm parameter, which should include your domain
(ex.:Dmyourdomain.com, be care with spaces). If you have defined multiple
domains, add a line with Cm and put the domains one after other separated by
spaces. You have to put a space between Cm and the first domain
1.5.- Add the following rule in the ruleset, dont use spaces, use tabs as
separator:
R$*<@$*.$+>$* $#ddn $@ $2.$3 $:$1<@$2.$3>$4 [email protected]
1.6.- If you find the following rule in the ruleset you should comment out it.
R$*<@$*.$+>$* $#$M $@$R $:$1<@$2.$3>$4 [email protected]
1.7.- If your host is receiving mail under different names for "local" delivery,
often you need to define those hosts in a "Cw" line and put the names one after
other separated by spaces. You have to put a space between Cw and the first
name.
1.8.- If you want to relay mails to different domains or subnets you can include
them into the file relay-domains. Each record in this file is a domain name (like
sun.com) or a subnet (like 192.0.0., be carefull with last dot).
1.9.- To test your sendmail service you have to stop and start it
(/etc/init.d/sendmail stop; /etc/init.d/sendmail start) and you can do the following:
1.9.1- To get basic debug information type:
/usr/lib/sendmail -bt -d0.1 < /dev/null
1.9.2- To test the conection:
mconnect "mail server"
vrfy "any alias"
1.9.3- To test the alias you inserted into aliases file (remember run newaliases
command after insert them).
/usr/lib/sendmail -v "any alias" </dev/null
2.- The /etc/hosts file:
2.1.- You must include in this file the IP address server, its nickname
(servername), its extended nickname (servername.domain), the word
"mailhost", the word "mailhost" and your domain (mailhost.domain) and the
word loghost.
2.2.- If you wish you can include all the servers that you want in the file. You
should do this is to avoid the use of DNS service translation.
2.3.- Check the DNS service thru nslookup servername (ex. Nslookup
sun.com), then test nslookup to your mail gateway
3.- DNS files and /etc/nsswitch.conf file
3.1.- Include a MX record for your mail gateway as the mail host for the entire
domain and verify that each record into the zone files include the MX record.
These files are in your DNS server (nameserver).
3.2.- Check your /etc/nsswitch.conf file. The record host must include files and
dns. It must look like
hosts: files dns
