Internet not connected any more...HELP!!!
Hello to all,
I am an happy owner of a dualcore PowerMac G5 2.0.
It has always worked well, but this morning I opened Safari and... "Safari cannot open page because the computer is not connected to Internet."
What? Yesterday it worked at its best...
I try to go on 192.168.0.1 that is mine router ADSL wifi (use the cable firewire) but it does not enter, same message of error: "Safari cannot open pag. because the computer is not connected to Internet."
I try with the Internet logons and guided procedures but nada.
I try on Network Diagnosis, but all ok except light red on Internet - not connected.
Devil, I am connected via wi-fi with the PSP and Internet works. I try with the laptop with cable fw and works, but the Mac not.
What did I made yesterday on the mac? Installed something? Only web upgraded mac OSX 10.4.4 and flip4mac microsoft.
Also I have tried to use instead of the cable, wi-fi with the mac, but null.
The tests that I made on the router say that the guilt is the mac.
It's like if a firewall blocks the tcp/ip. but I do not have firewall except Little Snitch but it is off.
Who helps me?

Ma come??? Ieri funzionava tutto a dovere...

Smanetto un po' con le connessioni internet e le procedure guidate ma nada.
Provo su Diagnosi Network, ma tutto ok tranne luce rissa su Internet - non riuscita.
Diavolo, mi collego via wi-fi con la PSP ed internet funziona. Provo col portatile via cavo fw e funziona, ma il Mac no.
Cosa ho fatto ieri? Installato qualcosa? Solo l'aggiornamento mac OSX 10.4.4 e flip4mac di microsoft appena usciti...
Ho anche provato ad usare invece del cavo, wi-fi col mac, ma nulla.
Sicuramente viste le prove fatte sul router, la colpa e' del mac...
E' come se un firewall bloccasse le connessioni tcp/ip in uscita. ma non ho firewall installati tranne Little Snitch ma è spento.

"USB Over Current Notice" - Hard drive not connecting any more??
I have an internal hard drive which I put in an hard drive enclosure and have been using as a backup hard drive for the past few months...I just bought a bigger hard drive for my Macbook so I backed all my info up to my external hard drive and now that the new hard drive has been successfully installed, I can't seem to boot my external hard drive. When I plug it in I get the message "USB Over Current Notice. A USB device is currently drawing too much power. The hub to which it is attached to will be deactivated."
I've tried repairing disk permissions, I've switched out the USB cable, and I've tried it on my mom's (brand new) iMac. This thing is no longer working, and I'm not sure why since my upgrading my macbook's hard drive shouldn't have affected my external hard drive whatsoever. My Macbook is plugged into the power adapter, and my iMac is obviously plugged in to a power source as well.
Again, I've used this hard drive to back up both the iMac and the Macbook successfully in the very recent past, and all of a sudden it's not working - I'm not even using the full amount of space in the external hard drive. What is the problem here and how do I fix it? All my old files are on that hard drive and now I can not longer access them.Sounds like your "new" external is operating as a bus-powered drive. The bigger internal may be drawing a larger amount of current--you didn't say what size either is and even within the same size, the current draw varies a lot. Between them you may be exceeding the available current. BTW, this can happen with large flash drives, too. I suggest you put your external in a powered enclosure or a powered 2.5"/3.5" open externals--I bought one, either option $20 to $30. Once it turns off the port it will take a while to be re-enabled with the load removed. I had it happen with a new mouse on an iMac keyboard port.

Hello, the 'Save As' dialog box used to allow the backspace button to go up one level in the directory when the focus is in the folder contents box but it does not work any more, please help. BTW the same 'Save As' dialog in other applications still allow the backspace button to go up one level in the directory.

I kept forgetting and procrastinating about following your instructions, since I have internet access only for limited amounts of time and usually I am busy with important tasks when I am.
Out of the blue, the problem corrected itself (the Save As box started to open full screen, then shrunk down to a normal size and the edges can now be dragged to a custom size).
Even the copy and paste problem in the filenaming area seems to have been less troublesome lately even though there have been no updates to Firefox in a few weeks.
Even though I marked the solution as not helpful, the problem has in fact been resolved. I will save the solution instructions in case the issue returns. -
My Photoshop Elements does not start any more. It gives response "Photoshop elements cannot start or continue because of missing file(s). Please reinstall." How do I get the installing file again (I bought it from Adobe via internet the first time december 2013?)

I'm in trouble, my iPod Touch is giving 4th shock when recharge and the battery does not last any more. who knows or has a similar problem, please help me. Note: all this after I downloaded the new version OS5.
I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store because of the shock issue. I doubt it was caused by the update.

This morning, I wanted to listen to some music on my iMac via my earphones but the computer, did not get any more my earphones. Indeed, when I puts the sound, this one takes out outer loudspeakers and not my earphones. They are not posted in the preferences sound. I tried earphones on my mp3, they worked.

Thank you!It sounds like the headphone jack on your iMac is having problems. One solution you might try is to insert and remove the earphones' jack several times. Sometimes this clears it up.
If that doesn't work, you will probably need to have the iMac repaired. Is it under warranty or AppleCare? If so it should be covered at no charge. Contact Apple using www.apple.com/support/contact if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. Alternatively carry the iMac in to an Apple retail store or service provider. If you are outside of warranty they can give you an estimate for the cost.

my new 3 month old imac 27 with 10.6.8 snow is giving a **** of noise from the fan. suddently starting after today starting up. and the volume buttoms and screen lights up and down not working any more.. any one who can help here???
Try an SMC Reset. (System Management Controller)
Shutdown>unplug from power for ten minutes>press and hold in the power button for ten seconds>startup again.
Also try a PRAM Reset. (Parameter RAM)
Shutdown. At the bootup chime, hold down CMD-Option-P-R together, wait for two more chimes, total three, then let go of all keys to finish booting,

Search in saved preview .pdf files not working any more
When I download a .pdf file from the internet and open it in preview, the search command works ok. When this same file is saved to disk and opened again, search is not working any more. Is this a bug, or my fault. Regards Rolf

A while back we have more than one browser running on our PC (IE, Firefox, Chrome) and we messed by how Acrobat views documents over the web.
I think that this has some relevance here, as around this time LC also started falling over previewing forms.
Now if we open LC and Acrobat is not running, the "Preview PDF" is not present or accessible. So now we fire up Acrobat before we open a form in LC Designer and the preview tab is there and functioning.
Not much of a workaround; but I am hoping that someone will have a better one!!!

Since two days my MSN messenger service will not launch any more saying that I am either not connected to the internet or that the service is unavailable. Neither is the case as I can access my hotmail directly via the web. What can be causing this all of a sudden and how to rectify it? What am I missing.

When it is connected to USB and the light is blinking orange, that mean DO NOT DISCONNECT - Eject shuffle in iTunes before physically disconnecting. If you do that (click the eject button in iTunes), but leave the shuffle connected to USB, the shuffle's light should become solid (not blinking). Solid orange light means shuffle is charging. If it's red, the shuffle may have a problem with charging. Does the SOLID light eventually become GREEN (battery fully charged)? -

i have a very strange situation with my nokia 5800, black , code: 0573786 , SW: v31.0.101
yesterday i walked up i can't touch the screen any more or enter any number
so i released the battery for 3 min , it start to accept 1 number in the bin code
so i tried to open with hard reset option (this mean i turn the phone on pressing red+green+ camera + power) it also accept 1 number in the lock code and does not response for any other touches
so i charged the battery to full, switch off the phone, and released the battery for 10 min
turn it all back with hard reset option it works again
Problems:
1- the most strange when i receive/make calls or the alarm snooze i can't press any key on the touch screen it seems autolocked and i have to unlock with the side slide bar.
i fond that there is similar option with v40.0.05 to prevent accident answer but with animation solution.
so i don't know if the phone make a minor upgrade for v31.0.101 when i connect to my nokia pc suite or not
2-the second problem, before i was able to upgrade to v40.0.05 (i mean the pc suite offer me the version) but at that time i did not ugrade.
now when i tried to update to v40 the pc suite does not offer it any more
so i checked for the available upgrade with my code in

i mean not the autolock in general ,but the autolock during calls
in another words, before when some one call me the screen light with two buttons (answer, silence) which i can press even the phone was locked before the call
but now the screen light with the two buttons which i can't press any of them until i unlock the screen with the side slider
another issue here, the sensor on the front panel (the small one beside the front camera) does not response any more this mean when i cover the sensor with my finger or answer a call it supposed to turn the screen light off. but now it does not function any more -
I have 46 movies downloaded from apple on my windows 7 PC I can only see 32 of them on my apple tv, I keep trying to share on my computer but they will not connect, any ideas? Sometimes I can connect though computer and get all my movies but usually I can not connect though the network.
