I have two lines, one on AT&T and one on Verizon.
On AT&T, 450 minutes, 200SMS (200SMS is no longer offered) and unlimited data for $80.40 after taxes.
On Verizon, I have 450 minutes, 1000SMS and 2GB Data for $86.
There are pay as you go retailers out there such as Cricket but you will pay full price for the phone but less per month to use it.

Have a quick question. We have 3 phone lines and only one has the 1000/$10 per month text message plan. So does every message coming in and going out count against the 1000 per month text limit? I was under the impression that all text messages between Verizon to Verizon didn't count against the 1000 total? I thought just (my phone) Verizon to non- Verizon and non- Verizon to (my phone) Verizon counted against the 1000 per month total of text messages. Is this right or do I have it totally wrong and we are being counted for every single text in and out regardless of the cell company? Thanks!

Yes, every text in/out counts against the text plan. There are some grandfathered text plans that include mobile-to-mobile texts, but not the current plans. You also may be thinking of mobile-to-mobile minutes.

Can I Convert My 5GB Internet Only to Phone Plan???

Hmmmm, over 50 views & not one reply to my earlier queery . . . perhaps I did not phrase my question clearly.
I currently have a Verizon 5GB Internet Only plan that I started in December 2010 with the acquisition of my MiFi 2200 HotSpot. At first all was great, but in the last two months, not only has the speed degraded to the point where it's not even worth trying to download a video from YouTube or partake in a conversation with friends, but my usage seems to have gone through the roof!
Before I was using 3 ~ 4 GB / month, two months ago it was 5 GB & this past month, I had to pay an extra $10 for my overage of 1 GB. I am only home during the evenings & early mornings, and only have my mac mini & mac book currently hooked up to the network which I have been told is "well-protected" & secure.
That all said, I am less than thrilled with the MiFi HotSpot system & am exploring other options for my internet access. I currently have my cell phone with another carrier & that contract will expire in two months.
What I wanted to know, was if there was a way that I might be able to "transfer" the balance (18 months) of my Verizon contract to a cell phone plan without incurring the exhorbitant Early Termination Fees.
Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

However, as a loyal customer we will allow you to turn the line into a voice line. You will have to provide your own phone or purchase a phone at full retail value. Problem solved, it was my oversight, I had not removed the check from the Print to File box in the print set up.

Most of the current Apple Intel based computers are comparable in CPU speed. I don't think it is so much the model of laptop as it is the memory, and storage capacity of the machine. If you are going to use FCP on a regular basis, perhaps as a professional or semi-professional, then you should think about the maximum memory and a very large capacity internal disk drive. For instance, one hour of finished compressed video will take up about 1.5 to 2Gbytes of disk space. If you add up the raw footage and still imagery and audio, you'll use up your disk drive capacity real quick. So a hard disk on the order of 750Gbytes @ 7200rpms might be good for video editing. 5400RPMs might be slow to rendering times. Rendering a video might take up a lot of memory so more memory is better e.g. 8Gbytes.
As a rule of thumb, once you get to about 80% of your disk drive or memory you'll see degradation of performance.
You can check out macsales.com. THey have a menu system that will allow you to pick and choose from various alternatives. BTW, it's been said that although Macs are typically spec'd at a certain memory size, macsales.com found that Apple computers will actually support higher memory levels. That is, if 4Gbytes are spec'd, some machines support 6Gbytes. macsales.com will provide the guidance for you.
You might also consider buying an external disk e.g. 500Gbytes to carry around with you for back-up or transport to another machine.

By default, a properly configured Guest network on the AirPort Extreme only allows network clients to access the Internet. No access to the "main" network's resources should be available.
This is assuming that the AirPort Extreme is the only or "main" router in your current network configuration.

I had similar problems I couldn't connect to the internet with 3g although it showed a good signal. I had originally set up my iPad with wi-fi because Apple failed to initially send me the 3g sim. I went as far as doing a full restore with no joy. I finally sorted it by resetting the network on the iPad

If deleting then reinstalling the apps doesn't work, then contact the app developer for support.
It sounds, though, like your internet connection is simply very slow.
Try making a backup, then restoring the iPhone as new, and testing again.

Upgraded to Lion, CS3 programs will only let me open 1 photo per session, what gives?

Just upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard. Now my CS3 Creative Suite programs will only let me open one picture per session. I then have to completely close out of photoshop or illustrator or whatever and reopen to open another picture. Any suggestions before I have to take my computer to the apple store.

http://roaringapps.com/ show some people having problems with various things. Have you tried reinstalling CS3? If that doesn't work, restore from a backup if needed to stay in production until a solution or an upgrade can be worked out.
I'm not sure the Apple Store will troubleshoot 3rd party software that is 3 versions old.

Wireless Guest Internet Only Access

We just got our 4402 WLC with 1131ag access points up and running. We would now like to set up guest access with only internet access. Our vendor has suggested setting up a dmz on our checkpoint firewall and have it do dhcp and then setting up a wlan on our controller for the guest access. My question is: what do I need to do on the switch side to set this up? Is is just as simple as creating a vlan and giving it an ip address in the dmz range? Or is there another way of setting up internet only guest access?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

It depends if all you are wanting to do is Internet-only on you controller. If thats it, then you can place your controller in a dmz. Have a device handout the dhcp information to your clients. Set your controller for layer-3 mode. Have your APs connect to your controller (make sure you have the correct ports allowed through your firewall between the APs and the controller). I would recommend placing the APs on a seperate VLAN than other internal traffic with the appropriate LWAPP options configured in the DHCP scope.
The clients will then associate to the SSID you have setup. They will pull an IP address from the DMZ.
A few years ago on my first LWAPP deployment, I did this setup and it worked perfectly. I would also recommend having the DHCP server in the DMZ assaign an IP address that is not routable in your internal network. That way, if somebody makes a mistake and their is leakage, the traffic can't be routed anywhere since the source IP address of the wireless client isnt routable. You can use this DMZ controller access for Internet only which can also be used by internal people to VPN back to you internal network if you have that permitted.
If however, you are planning to do both direct connection to your internal network and an internet-only connection (two different SSIDs) the best way is to get a small controller for your DMZ (like a 4402-12) and a larger controller for internal (4402-25 or 4404-100). Have your DMZ controller be a guest internet controller that is setup as the guest "anchor". There are lots of docs on the Cisco web site. This solution works great. I use a 4402-12 as a DMZ anchor and have about 20 4404-100s that are anchored to it.

Hey Kelly I would suggest before you upgrade to determine WHY you consume that much. Are there any background applications that might take your bandwidth? If you are streaming video, is there a setting to lower video quality to save bandwidth? Have you enabled power saving to shut down data usage when your phone is iddle and not in use? Have you enabled compression in your Google Synchronazation settings (Accounts/Google)? Please check your data consuption to see what's happening so that to get the best options. Hope the above helps a little.

If you have sent a test print via ePrint, and experience this issue, i would call the Cloud Services department.
If ePrint works fine, it is definitely a Google Cloud Print issue.
Also, when you print from your android device, are you using Google Cloud print or the HP ePrint app?

I applied warp stabilizer, but it only plays back at 6 frames per second.

Absolutely. Just change the sim card and the APN details in the settings. You can do this either manually if you know them or just sync with iTunes after changing the sim and the details will sync. Once you have done it once for each network the device seems to remember the details.
