Internet pages coming up really small

Internet pages with Mozilla come up really small. I have a 22" computer screen, and an internet page will come up as maybe 8x10. I can't even read the type, it's so small.
With Internet Explorer, it comes up fine. I know I can use Control then scroll my mouse to zoom, but I don't want to do that on every page. How can I get this fixed permanently, and not have it affect the way pages come up on Internet Explorer?

You can use one of these extensions to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages:
* Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
* NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/

  • In one of my pages on facebook the page size is really small, how can I set it to a normal size so I can read what I'm reading?

When I sign into my facebook account the pages are good that it looks normal, I go into another page where I have to switch to play another game and that screen is tiny now last night I was playing wordhunt and created some words at the same time so I thought that I had to hit and hold the control button so my other words that I created wouldn't loose them and that's when my page started getting smaller and smaller now I can't see that certain page of my facebook, is there anything that I can do to help with fixing this problem that I have cause I need to get into this page to play my other games?

In short, press CTRL+0 (that's 0 as in zero, not O as in oh).

  • When I try tp print from the internet on this browser the page comes out in small blocks over several pages. It only does this in Firefox, not other browsers.

At one time it was printing really small, that was fixed and all was well for awhile, now it has started this.

  • Ebay descriptions contain really small fonts using firefox. ok with ie

When using ebay, if I click on an item the text in the description is really small and hard to read. This has only been happening for around a couple of weeks now.
Everything else on ebay - and other websites - is fine.
If I look at ebay item descriptions using Internet Explorer, there's no problem at all - text is big and easy to read.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems: <b>View > Zoom > Reset</b> (Ctrl+0 (zero); Cmd+0 on Mac)

  • Images pasted are really small

    Hello,
I'm a newbie in Photoshop, can anybody explain why I open a letter sized file in Photoshop and everything I paste is really (really) small? I paste the same image in a letter sized word document and it occupies almost the entire page.... if I zoom Photoshop to 100% it will display the image "the same  size" as in my word document but obviously when I print it I can see the difference in size.... how can I paste in Photoshop an image (it could be from the internet) so when it prints it displays the same size as if I paste it and print it in a word doc? what am I missing? please help this newbie in distress.......

It sounds like you are working with low resolution files and pasting them into print resolution templates.
For example the images you have grabbed online will most likely be 72dpi, and Photoshops letter template will be 300dpi.
A little background reading on image resolution and dpi/ppi via Wikipedia will help you here:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dots_per_inch#DPI_or_PPI_in_digital_image_files
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_resolution
If you would like to stretch the image to fit the photoshop template there are a number of ways to do this, the easiest way would be to paste your image, then hit CTRL+T on your keyboard and then while holding the SHIFT key simply grab one of the control points that has appeared on the corner of your image and then drag it.
I think Microsoft Word is simply stretching the image to fit automatically
    Hope this helps

  • I'm getting the rainbow wheel when I try tp pen in internet page (Safari). The page half loads then appears to freeze with the rianbow wheel.  I get the same result when I try to stream a movie from NETFLIX.  Freezes up rather than plays (after loading).

I get the rainbow wheel when I try to open an internet page. It loads halfway, then freezes, with the rainbow wheel whirring around. Smae thing happens when I try to stream a movie on Netflix.  The movie loads, then the wheel shows up and the screen freezes.  Same thing when I try a DVD, it takes the disc, but won't play when I hit on PLAY.
I am repair permissions, and all that I can do, but I am a novice.  Any help would be greatly appreciated because I spend big bucks and drive 40 miles to get Apple help.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If your profile info is up to date, you probably have a 2006 or 2007 MacBook with a CoreDuo or Core2Duo.
It probably came with 512MB or 1GB RAM memory and a 60, 80, or 120GB hard drive.
    You're still running OS X Tiger, 10.4.
Your DVD drive may be dirty or wearing out.
For specifics about your computer, click on the  Apple Logo in the menu bar, then About This Mac, and More Info... to find details.)
You may be running short of hard disk space. You should have at least 10% free, or 10 to 15GB free for best performance. Less than that, and your hard disk is spending lots of time searching for places to store data.
Complex web pages and sites like Facebook and Twitter, and pages using Adobe Flash, and high-bandwidth applications like video streaming from NetFlix can all cause your computer to run slowly, and the fan to run at high speed, because the processor is working hard. Conversely, email is not terribly resource-intensive, and probably still works pretty well.
Several things can each provide a small performance increase (listed in no particular order):
Adding more RAM memory. Upgrade to 2Gb to give your programs a bit of 'breathing room', especially if you are running more than one program at a time.
Erasing the hard drive and reinstalling the current operating system and programs from scratch. This erases all your existing programs and data. Unless you have backups and program discs, you lose everything currently stored on it.
Installing a higher capacity, faster hard disk, say 250GB or 320GB will give your programs and data more space, and perhaps faster access if you replace the factory 5400rpm drive with a 7200 rpm drive. If your current hard disk is nearly full (less than 10% free space), the drive has to 'thrash' to free space to store information.
Upgrading the operating system to OS X 10.5 Leopard or OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Both are discontinued OS X versions, still available to order directly from Apple, but not likely found on a store shelf any longer. An upgrade to OS X 10.7 Lion might not be possible for your MacBook (details here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/how-to-buy/), and Lion would likely cause a further slowdown, because honestly, Lion is optimized for newer, faster dual-core or quad-core computers with fast video chipsets and 4GB or more of RAM.
A faster internet connection, for example: I switched internet providers to get a 3.0Mb DSL connection (up from a 512Mb connection) for an extra $10 per month, and saw downloads and internet browsing speeds increase dramatically.  With the slower connection, it was not possible to watch video.
Will all of these upgrades together get you close to the performance of the latest MacBook Air or MacBook Pros? NO!
Ultimately, you have a 4- or 5-year-old computer, and spending up to several hundred dollars for upgrades might not be a worthwhile investment for you, versus applying that much money toward the cost of a new(er) Mac, and perhaps passing your MacBook on to a friend, child, or grandchild who needs mainly email capability.
If a brand new Apple is not in the budget, consider a refurbished Mac from the Apple Store online. These are reliable computers from 'last year's models' and have the same 1-year Applecare warranty as a brand new model, and often sell at a discount of 10 to 30 percent of the price when the model was introduced.
I'm using a mid-2007 MacBook, purchased as a refurb from Apple in late 2007. It came with 1GB RAM, a 120GB 5400 rpm hard drive, and OS X 10.4 Tiger. Over the years, I've upgraded it twice. Firs to 2GB, then to 4GB RAM, to a 320GB drive, then to a 500GB 7200 rpm hard drive, and to OS X 10.5 Leopard, and then to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. Rather than one more round of upgrades to OS X 10.7 Lion, I'm saving for a newer MacBook Pro or MacBook Air at some time in the future.

I was filling out an application and when I tried to scroll in a small drop down list all the text on the site got really small. As I tried to make it big agian, I did something that changed the page and caused me to lose the application I was almost done with. I went to start over and now it is still tiny... how do I make it big agian. The rest of the computer online or not are all normal, it is just this page on the interenet. Can anyone help?

on  firefox, not sure about safari, try pressing (cloverleaf/) and + (plus) key a few times, which should enlarge stuff that needs to be .   You may have turned on text zooming. command+Shift+F8 key.  can't help you much more than that

  • How do I screen capture an internet page to copy to a file?

I am recently trying to adjust to a Mac system from PC.  Simple Question... How can I screen capture an internet page to copy it to a file?

To screen-capture a window so you can paste the captured impage, press Shift-Control-Command-4, and when your cursor appears as a crosshair, press the Space Bar and it will turn into a small camera icon. With this, place the cursor over the window you would like to capture and then click. Now the image will be on your clipboard, so you can paste it wherever.
However, screenshots take the image of what you see on-screen. If you would like to capture the entire Web page content only, then your best bet would be to print it to a PDF file. To do this, press Command-P and in the print dialogue that opens, choose the option to save the PDF to a file from the PDF menu.

  • How can I search an internet page for a certain word using Safari

    Hello Everyone,
I am a recent user of Safari, having switched over from Firefox. On Firefox if you wanted to find a certain word on a internet page (on a PC, I am also a brand new Mac user), you would press Ctrl-F and enter the word. What is the procedure for this on Safari using a Mac?
Thank you very much for your time and response, I greatly appreciate it.

Thank you Niel, another quick question.
When I used Firefox when I 'moused-over' a link the link's destination would pop-up in a small section at the bottom of the browser, does Safari have that ability?

  • My games on facebook are opening really small...this only happens on firefox

my games on facebook are opening really small.facebok home page is fine, its only when i open farmville etc that it opens very small ..this only started recently
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

My screen for the games on Facebook is super small also. This just started for me yesterday. The screen is so small that I am unable to see all of the aspects of each game and can't play them correctly. It's about half the size it should be. I'm not very happy with it either, because it just means that I will have to use chrome instead of firefox, which I prefer, to use Facebook now. If there isn't going to be a quick fix for this, I will just have to delete firefox and go back to using chrome.

  • Skype is really small on my iPad

I just got my iPad very happy.
However when i run Skype, which is teh first app I have installed so far, it is really small in the middle of the screen... suspiciously like it was meant for an iPhone screen...
Is there anyway to make this take up the whole iPad screen?

Is there a 2X button in the corner?
If the app is made for the iPhone and you use it on the iPad you will give up some clarity when you enlarge the app.

  • After installing new software updates, my internet pages don't load

Yesterday I was prompted to "new updates are ready to install", so I did. But now my internet pages either don't load when I click on a site, or are really slow loading. Anyone else with this problem?

Are you using Safari? There have been some issues with Safari 5 and third-party plugins. Disable any plug-ins you may have installed and restart your Mac.

  • Printing really small from text editor

I've got a few MS Word documents that I need to print on a regular basis. Some are printed as is, others are forms that I type a few extra lines into.
To save rebooting into XP, I thought I'd try opening and printing them from text editor. For some reason, documents that filled a full A4 page in Word get printed really small - I have to print them at 190% to fill the page. Any reason for this, and is it normal? Is printing at more than 100% the only fix?
The printer is a Samsung ML-1510 mono laser, using the latest drivers. I had the same "problem" printing from my Mini, running Tiger.

Select "Wrap to Page" instead of "Wrap to Window" in the Format menu. You can set that as default in the Preferences.

  • 5800 Internet page locks up and menus disappear

    Hi All,
Difficult one to explain but will try.
Since the an upgrade my internet page "expands" and you lose the grey task bar at the bottom of the screen which has the "back" "close" "stop "options" etc and a small and large arrow appears in the bottom right corner.
Previously when I tapped the arrows the grey option bar appeared and you could navigate around the menus.
Frustratingly I'm getting locked into the screen and no amount of tapping will bring the menu up. It even happens on Google home screen.
Has anyone found this issue and have any suggestions please?
    Cheers.

Hi, all I can suggest is a reset , which is always advisable after a software upgrade . You should ONLY backup your contacts and calendar and nothing else as your settings could be causing your problem (because they apply to the old software and not the new ) Dial *#7370# followed by 12345 and phone will reset , you will have to set it back up but should find it works like new ! Good Luck
