Internet Sales Development and Modifications

Hi,
I was reading the Internet Sales Development and Extension guide and it was mentioned that SAP does not release Java source codes for ISA.
Has anyone any experience in modifying ISA and how much can be made without source code ?
A prospective client would like the ISA to be modified to suit it's business requirements (i.e additional fields, drop down selections and buttons).
with our limited knowledge we do not see how this can be done without source codes.
Anyone has any ideas to share ? Any inputs and ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Wai,
The source code is not required for Internet Sales as you should try not to modify standard SAP as it will affect future upgrade possibilities.
What you will be doing is extending the standard by adding extra fields (this can be done via extensions). You will also have the struts available to you which you can modify the flow which allows for more actions (new buttons).
Another means is by replacing existing remote function modules to call custom developed function modules (an example of this is a customer project we changed the registration process allowing us to add new fields and pass into the extension and then the new function module did extra validations and saved the extra data against the customer). Page 124-125 of the guide.
Then of course you can change all the look and feel.
My advice is keep the guide handy as it is very good to help you along the custom development path.

To know all this should I have to install ICSS.ear files and if yes from where I can download it.
is there any document which describe all this. We have document for ISA 4.0 and ISA 5.0 where one can understand the difference between 4 and 5 but what if I want to know about ICSS?

Extension of Internet Sales R/3

Hi Experts,
     Currently we are implementing E-commerce 5.0, Internet Sales R/3.
If we want to modify or extend the ISA application (Like changing logo, Text, Welcome message), should we do it on the original B2B/B2C application? Or we should create a copy of the application before changing.
If it is recommended to create a copy, then
1.     Please tell me how to create a copy of the application. Is it like simply coping the b2b folder and all its contents to folder zb2b on the Web Server or there are any method/tool available for it?
2.     Do I need to change any other file for that?
3.     What would be the URL for the copied applications? Would it change to something like
from http://<host>:<port>/b2c/b2c/init.do to http://<host>:<port>/zb2c/b2c/init.do
and http://<host>:<port>/b2b/admin/xcm/init.do to
http://<host>:<port>/zb2b/admin/xcm/init.do

Hello,
You should create a copy of the standard application. To deploy an application with another name please see sap note [1017761|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1017761]. This will give you details steps on how to do this.
You can then rename the application to what ever you like ie abc_b2b and so on.
You should also have a read of the development and [extension guide|http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000647973&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000112&_OBJECT=011000358700000469462006E] , If you are only making simple change it maybe be possible through the use of style sheets? see section on stylesheets.

Internet Sales R/3 remote debugging

Hi,
Can anybody tell me, how to remote debugg a Internet Sales Application? I've read some lines in the Development and Extension Guide, but this is not a lot.
I don't understand how do debug a classfile. Because normaly the classfile will be compiled and deployed on the SAP J2EE. Is it possible to debugg this class with the remote debugging function of Eclipse?

Jco connection error while calling Custom FM in CRM Internet Sales Application

I am trying to do some customisation in the CRM ISA 4.0 development component.
Have followed the steps given in the Development and Extension Guide and tutorial PDF
Steps done for Custom RFC Call
1.       Create RFCs
2.       Edit file backendobject-config.xml in folder project_root\b2b_z\WEB-INF\xcm\customer\modification:-
3.       BackendBusinessObject Jco -
4.       BusinessObject -
5.       Edit file bom-config.xml in folder project_root\b2b_z\WEB-INF\xcm\customer\modification
6.       BusinessObjectManager BoM
7.       BackendAware-
8.       config.xml - to add custom actions
9.       Action creation
10.     Page : Order_change.jsp.
The backend is the CRM system while making a call to the CRM system the connection to the CRM system is not working .
Similar to what is given in the tutorial the getDefaultJCoConnection() is used .
But gettting null at the JCO connection.
JCO.Function func = getDefaultJCoConnection().getJCoFunction(‘CRM_ISA_SHOP_GETLIST’);
This is how my custom FM is being called.
Can someone help me with what may be the possible reason for this call failure.
While debugging and checking it shows null pointer exception in the JCo connection .

Hi Hamendra,
When the code debugging was done in Java then we got just the NullPointerException for the JCo.
In the nwa log shows
where BackendBusinessObjectBaseSAP is the standard Java Class in the ISA
Error at
com.sap.isa.core.eai.sp.jco.BackendBusinessObjectBaseSAP.getDefaultJCoConnection(BackendBusinessObjectBaseSAP.java:46)

If I have understood correctly your issue is that you went through C74 - E-Service Building Block Guide, and found a reference for the SAP Note 544843, which in turn refers to the "SAP Internet Sales Configuration and Implementation."
Have you checked for the date of the SAP Note? It is dated 26.08.2002, which is prior to the release of even CRM 4.0! It refers to the above document on the SAP Service Marketplace. The note is Release Independent, however, it is clear that the issues mentioned are for SAP CRM 3.0!
Further if you check the link below, these are the latest guides that were published for CRM 2007, which does not contain C14 - Internet Sales. C74 as I mentioned before, is for E-Service or ICSS (Internet Customer Self Service), which is different from Internet Sales.

CRM 5.0 Internet Sales B2C Logon is Invalid

I have successfully configured CRM Internet Sales B2B and B2C. I am able to log into B2B but not B2C. The B2C app seems to work fine except when you try to log in. The error is "Logon is Invalid; check your entries".
I haven't been able to find a good explanation of how authentication works for B2C. The main difference is that B2C uses email address for login versus user-id. I am using the same user for B2C as B2B. The user has an email address defined.
Any help in troubleshooting this problem would be appreciated.

Unless you are expecting someone to use both B2C and B2B, create a new user for the B2C. We have one login for B2B and another for B2C.
Also, check your password length to be sure you're not exceeding the length.
When we first started in DEV, we found that one login worked while another didn't. Turned out that one password was >8 characters and the other was <8
The system only stored the first 8 characters so even though you could log in the first time, you couldn't log back in using the same longer password...unless you only typed the first 8 characters.

Technically yes, you can. You have to create a customer application scenario using corresponding SAP Application scenario that is based on the R/3 Internet Sales scenario. You can use one of the following scenarios:

<li>r3standardpi - Standard scenario with Plug-In
<li>r3ocistandardpi - OCI catalog and plug-in
<li>r3standardtrex - with TREX catalog
<li>r3standardpitrex - with TREX and plug-in

We installed a J2EE-Engine with UT JCRM. Since this is a full blown J2EE engine I wonder, what services/applications can be deactivated/disabled in order to make the system secure. I want to avoid users trying to append different strings to the URL to start webdynpros or other applications that are not necessary to run the Internet Sales.
The security guide doesn't give much help here.
Any ideas?
