Internet & Server failed

Hello fellow mac users
I have had an annoying problem with my new macbook for a few months now, and I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
My internet connection has this annoying problem:
Every few minutes, my internet stops working.
The Network Diagnostics show green lights for AirPort, Airport Settings, Network Setings and ISP. When the problem occur, the Internet and/or the Server lights are yellow or red. (With faliure written underneath).
I've tried changing DNS servers a bunch of times, but it does not seem to solve the problem.
This happens with every browser, and with both ethernet and wifi, and both at work, in school and at home.
I am running Snow Leopard 10.6.6
Thanks in advance

You should have taken it in ASAP when your first noticed this "new" Mac Book. This is NOT normal!

and asistent tells me that i need to check my router and access points, all other devices in my home works normaly with the same router.
i know that new macbook air 2103 comes with new 802.11ac Wi-Fi and as far as i know its a 5ghz i read someone have same problem with the same macbook air but different router, and he is assuming that new wi fi AC is not backward compatibile with the older or regular routers,i dont know if this is true but can someone try to help me to solve this problem, maybe i need to change settings in mac?

in the manual i linked up on resent post you can see how to acces the router.
    it says
    Step 1
Launch a browser on your computer. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in the address box, and press Enter.
    Step 2
On the login page, enter your user name and password.
  By default, both the user name and password are user.
  For security reasons or to make the user name and password easy to remember, you can change them. For details, see section 4.1 "Changing the User Name and Password for the Web-Based Configuration Utility".
    Step 3
    Click Login.
After verification, the web-based configuration utility is displayed.
The first time you log in to the web-based configuration utility, a configuration wizard is displayed. To skip the wizard and further configure your HG532e, click Here when the following message displays: Click Here to enter the advanced configuration page.
and go to advanced configuration page and se WiFi settings, check transfer mode/protocol 802.11 if it is on b/g b/g/n
you can try to set it to 802.11g only and change channel to 11 or 9
Yes you need to do that on your mac when your connected to the network, then you will get an Advance view option over WiFi.

  • Macbook ISP, Internet, Server Fail

My macbook pro has been having difficulties with wifi for some time now. When connected on wifi I frequently get the red ISP, Internet, and Server fails. I've noticed this only happens from my room and if I get closer to the router it's fine. But I used to be able to use it far from my router before, and my iPhone and iPad connect flawlessly where ever I am. On the odd chance that I do have a connection the speeds are usually pretty slow. Could this be a problem with my mac?

Hold down the option key and select the Wi-Fi menu in the menu bar. What values are shown for the following?
              PHY Mode
              Channel
              Security
              Signal/Noise or RSSI
              Transmit (or Tx) Rate
Please do not post the BSSID, as that information is private.
Now hold down the option key again and select
               ▹ System Information... ▹ Network ▹ Wi-Fi
Compare the two-letter Country Code with the ISO code for your country. Does it match? The code X0 means that the country couldn't be determined. The code X3 means South America, not otherwise specified.

  • Macbook Pro 5,1 Internet & Server "failed" but can still surf the web

Hello! I know there are many discussions concerning this topic, and I have read many of them to fix the problem but no luck. I use a TimeCapsule Airport to connect wirelessly to my internet. I have two other laptops (one Macbook Pro and one Dell) that also can connect to the wireless. The TimeCapsule is connected to a router that's jacked into the wall, therefore my Airport Utility connects using automatic DHCP and assigns IP addresses within that router. My Network Diagnostics states that all of my network points are connected up until the Internet  and Server, both of which say "failed" (more explicitly: Airport, Airport Settings, Network Settings, and ISP are all green while Internet and Server are red). The same thing happens if I plug my ethernet cable into my macbook. My other devices connect to the internet just fine and the other Macbook shows all green for diagnostics.
With this, I am unable to connect to software updater, help, and various other server-requisite connections/programs. This ***** because my battery also requires a software update as the System Profile shows it as "Condition: Check Battery" and my Macbook is constantly crashing for no reason (fully charged, no warning) when it runs on battery.
I've restarted my router many times, unplugged all power/connection cables and nothing. I've reset my TimeCapsule and nothing. I'm at a loss! Can someone please help? Thanks!

I finally solved the problem by myself.
For anyone reading this thread and having similar issues, I quickly describe how I did it:
Basically, I changed totally nothing on either Soft- or Hardware side.
But what I did was disassemble my MBP, remove one of those 2 memory chips, un- and replugged the SSD, turned the system on with just one memory chip, let it run for a while (did some stress tests on the SSD that ususally lead to massive problems) and everything worked smooth.
At first I thought the one memory I removed was bad, but to my surprise the system continued to work stable after I put it in again.
Since 6 days my MBP runs smooth without any troubles like spinning wheels or whatsoever.
I've read many threads from other people having similiar issues with this configuration, coming up with a lot of ideas and workarounds.
Although this seems to be weird, I hope that it helps some of you facing the same weird behaviour.

  • Shows Full Signal -- Isp, Internet, Server failing

So I'm attempting to figure out why my macbook won't connect to my friends wireless router. It shows that I have full signal strength and that I'm connected, but still the internet fails. I've tried network diagnostics, and it shows green for Airport and Airport Settings and then Orange for Network settings, and Red for ISP, Internet and Server.
I tried fiddling around with the IP address but nothing seems to be working on that front.
The only thing I've found that makes this router an anomaly for my system is the fact that it uses a WEP password. All other routers I've used have been WPA, though I'm not sure what the difference is and whether it would even make a difference.
Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks!

My new MacBook had exactly the same symptoms. I tried adjusting every setting, and even replaced my Linksys router with an Airport Extreme, but the problems persisted. I just exchanged that MacBook for a new one (same model), and have not experienced any connection problems--yet.
I suspect, but cannot prove, this may be a hardware issue.
There are several other threads on related WiFi problems that might be helpful to you.

  • Connection to the server failed for email, but internet access is fine.

My iPad 2 worked fine yesterday and today I cannot get mail.  The message says connection to the server failed or all of my email accounts.  Internet access is fine.

Try again with the e mail.  The message means you messed up the settings.  Google you ISP and e mail settings.  They will tell you the server name for incoming and outgoing.  They will be different.  Pay attention to port number and be careful to make sure you enter the password right.    Since the rest of the internet works, your problem is just with the security on your ISP.

  • My MBA indicates my connection is timing out. My wifi on other laptops work in the house. Diagnostics indicate wifi settings failed, network settings failed, ISP failed, Internet failed, and server failed. What can I do?

My MBA indicates my connection is timing out. My wifi on other laptops work in the house. Diagnostics indicate wifi settings failed, network settings failed, ISP failed, Internet failed, and server failed. What can I do?

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Some of these steps are only possible if you have control over the wireless router.
    Step 1
Turn Wi-Fi off and back on.
    Step 2
Restart the router and the computer. Many problems are solved that way.
    Step 3
Change the name of the wireless network, if applicable, to eliminate any characters other than letters and digits. You do that on your router via its web page, if it's not an Apple device, or via AirPort Utility, if it is an Apple device.
    Step 4
    Run the Network Diagnostics assistant.
    Step 5
In OS X 10.8.4 or later, run Wireless Diagnostics and fix the issues listed in the Summary, if any.
    Step 6
    Back up all data.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
Enter the name of your wireless network in the search box. You should have one or more "AirPort network password" items with that name. Make a note of the name and password, then delete all the items. Quit Keychain Access. Turn Wi-Fi off and then back on. Reconnect to the network.
    Step 7
You may need to change other settings on the router. See the guidelines linked below:
Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    Potential sources of interference
    Step 8
Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.
    Step 9
Reset the System Management Controller (SMC).

  • TS3899 Tried all the tips on line. Every time I try to send an e-mail, it gives me this message, "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed" Any help in how to resolve would be appreciated

I went through all the steps to try to resolve getting the message in a box every time i try to send an e-mail. What next ?
Message is " A copy has been placed in your
Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed."
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. My internet works fine as I can send e-mails from my Yahoo account on my MAC no problem.
    Address is fine etc.

How long has it been going on? I've had my yahoo mess up and if i wait a bit it resolves itself. Yahoo is doing something with their servers and it messes with your mail if your mail happens to be on one of those servers.

  • Sending email error with Yahoo: "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed."

HELP!  Why am I getting this error message? It's driving me crazy! When I try to send an email,  the message stalls in the outbox and the following message pops up -  "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed." I have deleted and reinstalled the account, restarted the phone, etc - what the heck? The emails work just fine at Yahoo online, so the account it fine...I don't want to hard reset the phone, as I had to do that recently and it's a pain - any suggestions?

OR they are the right settings but you are trying to send through a different internet provider or 3G provider, that does not allow that SMTP server to send email.
if I send email from 3g or someone elses wifi on a different ISP, it will not work, because it does not allow that server to be contacted. this is normal.
What you want to do is setup a gmail account and use their SMTP server settings for the defauly outgoing server. that way you dont have to worry about this.

I have been using my iphone for almost a year and after my email address was hacked yesterday by a diet berry fake email, i can send out an email from my phone.  I have removed, rebooted, removed, etc.....and changed my password, still can't send out an email.

  • You are not connected to the Internet/Server

I am constantly getting this error message in safari. Trying network diagnostics doesn't work usually and says internet failed and server failed. It does not matter whether i am using airport or an ethernet cord. The only way to fix it temporarily it to turn airport off and on. And when i say temporarily i mean going to one or two sites before getting the error. I have tried reseting the pram which didn't help. I have no idea what else to do to fix it. Any suggestions?

Apple tech support never came through with a solution so i traveled a couple hours to the apple store. I was 10 minutes late because of missing an exit and traveling 30 miles in the wrong direction and 30 back. They said they canceled my appointment with a genius because of being late. Insisting that they were booked up the rest of the day all the did was get a sales rep to troubleshoot, yet i saw several geniuses doing nothing. Of course he wasn't helpful in getting the problem fixed and stopped to talk with another customer for 20 minutes right in front of me while i was just standing there. So now i am stuck with a macbook with no internet and will have to resort to reinstalling leopard.
The whole reason i bought a mac was so i didnt have to deal with this crap from windows.
    Thanks Apple

  • Unable to connect to SAP gateway to RFC server failed(hostname unknow)

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a new Model(to connect to SAP R/3 server) using the following steps:
    1.Selecting Import Adaptive RFC Model
2.Entering Model name, package, default logical system names
3.Selecting the single server option and giving the details of the SAP R/3 server.
When I try to connect it gives me the following error :
-Connect from SAP gateway to RFC server failed.
    Also it mentions :
    <b>"ERROR hostname 'sapR3' unknown "</b>
Where <b>sapR3</b> is the entry corresponding to the IP address in the host file.
Further I am able to establish a telnet session using the same hostname in command prompt.
I have searched the Internet for solutions, but I haven't found any yet.Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Kshitij Agrawal

    Hi,
Please check if the hostname that you specify in the "Reimport Model" GUI of NWDS matches with the application server name specified in your R/3 system. The same can be verified by following three simple steps:
    1) Open the SAP LogOn.
    2) Choose the server to which you wanted to connect and right click on it to get the "properties" in the context menu.
    3) Look for the value entered in the field "Application Server" in the properties window.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPhone 3GS will not sync calendars because the sync server failed.   Just installed Outlook 2010.  Is there a fix for this?

My iPhone 3GS could not sync calendars to the iPhone because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone.    Just installed Outlook 2010.   Is there a fix for this?

I am simply lookig for some help not an argument.  I am not an RF specialist however have setup a few wireless networks in my tenure at Wynn Resorts.  I fully agree that wireless networking is an art and a science however the powers that be in Network Land have toughted wireless networking is the easiest and quickest way to get two computers to talk with one another.  As I previously said I have already turned one (1) MBP in for this problem and Apple decided to replace it because they could not fix the problem with my particular MBP.  This MBP was running Leopard when the problems started
I am having a hard time believeing that there are several other devicces in my home that depend on a wireless network to operate and my MBP is the only one having an issue.  I took this a step further and decided to see what would happen if I tried to connect wirelessly via Fusion.  In Windows 7 I am able to print and scan to my hearts content without any issues.  I am able to browse the internet as much as I want.  I close Fusion and try to connect to my printer via wireless and nothing.
In order to get Apple to help do I need to get a Network Analyzer and capture packets when I have these problems?  Out of the 1000 + posts is there a consolidation of which answer is the best?  BTW I am accessing the internet via a wireless connection using Fusion and Windows 7.
In response to Linc's comments, I will look at the router specifications however I did not qualify that these devices are not using the wireless connection at the same time.  Right now I would guess there are maybe two (2) or three (3) at the most that are actively transmitting / receiving information. --  Thanks
