If you get an iPad with the 3G do you have to pay for internet service?

No. But you have to purchase a data plan in order to use the iPad via the 3G connection. Some 3G iPad owners do not have internet service at home and rely only on the 3G connection.
If you do not purchase a data plan to use with the 3G, then you will only be able to use your iPad where you can find a WiFi connection - like at a library, or a Starbucks, Barnes and Noble, a friend's house that has WiFi .....

As far as I know Facetime in included in the Ipod. At least mother her Ipod has it.
You don't have to pay anything. It is free as it uses your wifi. So the only thing you will pay is you internet connection.

  • If you get an iPhone 5s sim free do you have to pay for data

I want to get an iPhone 5s but do want data. I was wondering if I get a sim free iPhone do I still have to pay for data?

Sim free does not mean that you can make calls or use the Internet for free. To use the
Phone, you will have to contact the wireless provider that you intend to use to see what
service plans they offer. Most wireless providers require you to have a data plan in addition
to a plan for regular phone service when using an iPhone.

  • If I bought a Macbook within the past month and the RAM starts to malfunction do I have to pay for a new RAM or is it covered by my 1 Year Warranty?

I bought a Macbook Pro a month ago and all of a sudden my computer has been malfunctioning. I went to the apple store and they said that my RAM is not working correctly and now I have to pay $200 for a new one. Do I have to pay for it or should my 1 Year Warranty cover the cost?

I agree with you that Apple should cover it, and that if they're initially unwilling to, then a complaint should be raised.  However, the poster remarked that he went to an Apple store, Apple diagnosed the problem as being faulty RAM, and then the poster said that he has to pay $200 for "a new one" (new RAM, I presume).  No matter what you or I say on here, if the representative that the poster spoke to brought up a $200 charge, then what is he going to do?  "Some users on the internet told me it should be free, so I'm not going to pay that - just fix it for free"?
Or maybe I'm having trouble following what happened.  It seems to me that if the poster went to an Apple store and had a system that was within warranty, if Apple found a problem, they would replace it for free.  In that case, where did the poster get the number for the $200 charge, and why is it even necessary to ask if it's covered?  Either he encountered an Apple Genius who didn't handle the case properly, or there's more to the story that he's not revealing (water damage, or so on).

  • Terrible Customer Support and now I have to pay for their mistakes

A friend told me about a promo plan she was on, it was the 20 off data plan.  So I got interested and called in to get some information about it.  I ended up signing up for the plan around Jan. 27th.  I then noticed that the iphone 4 was available for pre-order on the 3rd.  I ordered it and received it on the 7th.  Called Verizon on the 8th and let them know I received a defective phone.  I was told several things by different reps about how this was going to be replaced.  First they told me if I gave them another 326 dollars, they could get one shipped out the same day.  Then after my call dropped I called back in, I was told that if I gave them another 326 dollars, they could get one shipped out on the 10th.  I agreed and gave them my cc info.  Since I did not have a working phone they put my account in suspension so I wouldn't be charged for service that I couldn't use.  I guess there were problems with the fact that my account was in suspension, so they tried to call me on my iphone 4 number that was never activated and didn't work, even though my ATT number was in the notes and on my account.  So the 10th came around and I called in to see why I didn't have a phone.  They told me about the problem and assured me that I would receive a working iphone on the 18th, once again I did not receive a phone.  Called in and I was told that they again made some mistakes and I would have a phone on the 23rd.  Well guess what? No phone came on the 23rd.  I finally received a phone on March 1st.  Guess what?  If I talked for over 5 minutes, this phone got so hot that it was uncomfortable to hold.  On top of all of this they could not get my voicemail to work.
At this point they still have not refunded me for my first defective phone that I had sent back a month ago.  All of the refunds that I was promised for service that I could not use were not applied.  I have spent about 6-8 hours on the phone with this company trying to get a working phone.  After having the second defective phone for 9 days and this nightmare I was in, I told them that I could not allocate anymore of my time trying to get them to do their jobs correctly.  I wanted to return this second defective phone and I would be going back to ATT.  They told me that I owned the phone now and I would have to pay the 350 dollar ETF.  I laughed because it took them 21 days to get me another defective phone after I received my first defective phone.  They kept making mistakes to force me outside the 14 day return window, not me.  At this point its just laughable.  I happened to be at an apple store picking up one of the new macbook pro's and I told them about my phone that could be used to start campfires.  They ran some test's on it and replaced it on the spot.  Keep in mind that at this time I was in a Verizon area and my voicemail still would not work.  I got home and called them about it and my house is located in an extended area.  They told me that I would have to go back to a Verizon area to setup my voicemail.  So off I went.  2 hours of driving and I got the same message.  I then went back to said apple store to see if they could help me out since I have wasted so much time and gas money because of the incompetence of Verizon employee's .  Apple offered to call Verizon and get this straightened out.  They spent over an hour with them and they still could not get my visual voicemail to work.  They tell me that they are going to start a trouble ticket with the engineers and I would be receiving txt messages and calls throughout the day as they work on it.  So I go back home and get a call back from someone I spoke to the day before that told me that I needed to be in a Verizon area to get my voicemail to work.  After apologizing and telling me they couldn't let me return my phone or let me out of my contract for all the troubles I have.  Keep in mind that I still do not have voicemail.  He did however tell me that he would take care of my gas bill that was over 100 dollars for the 240 mile round trip.  I faxed in the gas receipts but still have not got compensated for that and I'm not holding my breathe.  This same person also said that the warehouse was having problems with the returns and thats why I haven't received my refund for the first defective phone but that I would be receiving the refund for it today.  Still haven't got that...
So a couple days go by and I call in again to see if I can get my visual voicemail working because I never received a txt or phone call about it.  The first person in tech support told me that it shouldn't matter that I'm in an extended network and that it works off of the data side.  So he can't get it working and transfer's me to higher level tech support.  This clown tells me that visual voicemail does not work through the data side and would only work in a Verizon area.  He checks my account and there was no record of a trouble ticket from the other day.  Which is not surprising, so he starts another trouble ticket and about 1 hour later I finally have working visual voicemail in my extended network. It only works when I'm on my WIFI. So the next day I leave my house and notice that my data is no longer working.  Well I call in again for the 300th time,  I get no help but they offer to send another phone.  It's amazing that my data stops working the day that they do stuff to my account to get my voicemail working.
I have about $650 dollars invested in getting 1 working iphone 4.  My first bill was about 236 dollars for 13 days of service that I actually used.  Man what a great experience this has been.
Verizon take this phone back that you cannot get to work and refund my money please.
or cancel my service and waive the ETF so I can go back to ATT.  I shouldn't have to pay for your employee's mistakes.
I DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO CALL IN EVERY DAY TO GET A WORKING PHONE.  I IMAGINE I HAVE SPENT OVER 8 HOURS CALLING YOU GUYS TO GET A WORKING PHONE.  IS THIS NORMAL FOR VERIZON CUSTOMERS?  I THOUGHT ATT WAS BAD ABOUT TELLING YOU ONE THING AND DOING ANOTHER BUT THIS IS JUST UNACCEPTABLE!  I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SAY THIS BUT I REALLY MISS ATT!

First, you should be aware that for the most part, posting on here you are not talking to Verizon. This is a user forum and occassionally you get employees that post in response to threads. But in this case, if they do respond they will tell you to respond to a private message they send you with some information so they can further help you on the phone.
There are a few things odd about your situation, but hopefully they are things that can be resolved. Were you aware prior to opening a VZ account that you were not truly in a VZ area? I'm not sure about the voicemail thing not working if you are not in the VZ area, but unless you don't spend much time in your area I think that alone would detour me from wanting service with a company that I can't use some features because I don't have true service where I would use it most. To get clear info on this you should ask that detailed infor be sent to you in writing telling you of the inability to receive certain features in your home area.
As far as a rep telling you that you would be reimbursed for the gas you used...I have never heard of them doing this regardless of how far you had to drive, but hopefully if you were told this it will be resolved.
As far as them telling you that you own the phone...if you truly want to cancel service and you have proof that the reason you did not have 14 days to return the phone was because it took them 21 days to send you a replacement then you should honestly have no trouble getting this taken care of. Escalate the issue. On the otherhand, I think it's odd that they told you they wouldn't send you another phone until you paid again...maybe this is a new thing because of the iPhone but usually they will ship you a replacement with instructions for how to return the defective phone. If that phone is not received within 10 days (I think) they charge you the full retail price of the device. Again, they may have changed this for the iPhone.
Your bill for $236 for 13 days of service...a little curious how that is possible. What exactly were you charged for (perhaps it is a prorated bill for the 13 days and then the next full month in advance....which is not so odd when opening a new account)? Without knowing what plan you have in the first place it's hard to tell if this is an odd bill or just the pains of a first bill. I would have to think it is for far more than just 13 days of use.
I get that you don't want to or don't feel like you have the time to have to get this straightened out, but unless that amount of money means little to you I would think one way or another I would find the time to get this resolved once and for all. You may not like this part, but if you weren't really aware of how VZ worked in your area before switching to them then I would wonder why you didn't do a little more detailed research before making the decision to switch and knowing the choice would have to stick for 2 years unless you paid an ETF.
Finally, as far as the phone working or not working...you said that Apple gave you a working phone. You also said that the voicemail was finally resolved. Currently, the issue appears to be with data. Are you sure that it's the phone that has the problem? Or is it the service in your area? You need to be very sure that your area, being that it is NOT a VZ area truly does not have a high instance of issues for certain features. Data would fall under one of those features that may or may not work if you are not in one of their areas I would think. If it is the phone, and everything else combined is completely correct and easy to prove then you can try escalating the issue with VZ once more. If all else fails, you can probably file a complaint with the BBB (read the terms of your contract first to be sure). I am not sure how the BBB service works for wireless conflicts, but you can easily find this info on the BBB website. Also, if the BBB is not an option you can check for other remedies. Someone on another thread sent an email to someone higher up in the VZ network (can not recall whom but the thread is fairly recent) and was able to get help with an issue they were having. First things first, find a little more time and contact VZ again. Insist that your issue is escalated. If you are told a case or something is opened request the case #. Record the name of every rep you speak with, the date and the time. This is something you should always do regardless of the company as the more info you have available in regards to your contacts, the better prepared you are for any issues. Good luck with everything.

  • Do we have to pay for audiobooks twice on same account, different phones?

My husband bought and listened to an audiobook on his iPhone.
Now I'd like to listen to that same book on my iPhone. Do I have to pay for it again?
It's not in my list of purchases or on my computer backup. I started to use the cloud about a year ago and he has just started using the cloud in the past month.
    Help please!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Audiobooks are not currently part of the content that can be re-downloaded. You should sync your audiobooks to other devices via iTunes on your computer.

  • I have to pay for something that was not my fault, nor Verizon's fault, but is an act of God/nature.  Why is that?

As I stated above, "I have to pay for something that was not my fault, nor Verizon's fault, but is an act of God/nature.  Why is that?"  I had a hard time keeping my phone charged at one time, so I called/visited my local retailer of Verizon, and they ordered me a new battery (first step after cleaning my phone. Not like it was dirty anyways). Got a new battery, put it in, still same problem.  Would not charge...boo! So, I bring it back, and they order me a replacement phone, since it "is still under warranty, and insured".  When I first brought my phone in, the young lady said, "That is why it is not charging; it was the charger port, that is why it was not charging. It is as loose as a goose" So, that is why she ordered me a new one.
So, get the new phone, put "new battery" back in.  All is good, all of what, 2 maybe 3 weeks later.  Now it is doing the same thing again. Checked the charging port, it is fine.  Bring it in, to the store, and questioned the young man behind the desk, and find out why I was charged the $299.95(+taxes & s/h). He said, "it was because the old phone was because there was "corrosion" around the port."  Of course, there was not a single note of it being loose.  He continued, and said it was because it was there had to be a time where you spilled something on it, even if it was a drop of any kind of liquid. Or, you/ or someone else, had it in the shower with them."  (Really, a drop of liquid, or taking the phone with me in the shower?)  How I could I get a "drop" of liquid in it, if I had an Otter-box on it, or why would I take it in the shower with me?  I admit, I am not the sharpest tool in the shed, but, really? Come on now!
Since, I have to now pay for it, I am kind ‘a wondering if anyone else has, or had the same problem with their phone (s).  My wife has the same phone and she has not had this same problem.  Makes me wonder.  Since, my phone is doing this again, if it is something that I am doing wrong with it or not.  So, now they have ordered me a new battery, and we will see if this will be a new fix, or "good bye to Verizon."  Any comments, or suggestions, please email wife and me, and let me know. Thanks and God bless.

Don't really see how this would be an act of God/nature.
Regardless, are you saying Verizon should have to pay for those, though?

  • If I buy iWork on my iPhone, will I be able to install that same iWork through my apple account onto an iPad and be able to use that full screen? Or do i have to pay for a iPad version of iWork, where the screen settings and other stuff are different?

I'd like to get iWork on both my ipad 2 and iphone 4 mainly for traveling purposes... Right now I lent my iPad to my dad whose in somewhere else now so I don't have access to the iPad. So, I was wondering if right now I buy iWork onto my iPhone, and then when the iPad comes home, can I install that same iWork I bought through my apple acout and not have to pay for another version, and the iPad iWork can go full screen beautifully and not ugly?

iWork is universal, so it will work full-res on the iPad. This is true for any app which has the plus sign symbol (in the App Store in iTunes it will say "This app is designed for iPhone and iPad".

  • I still have ilife '09. How can i update to the new ilife? Do i have to pay for each app seperately in order to update?

I still have ilife '09. How can i update to the new ilife? Do i have to pay for each app seperately in order to update?
I am an Aperture user and I am tired of managing my old iphoto library seperately. In order to use the new combined aperture/iphoto abilities i need a newer version of iphoto. Apple says that the new iphoto is free, however my iphoto (version 8.1.2) did not update. How do i update iphoto so that i can use the library with Aperture?

iPhoto, iMovie and Garageband are free. However, you must be running Mavericks in order to download and use them. Mavericks is free also.  Therefore your Mac must be capable of running Mavericks:
The following is from: Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mavericks.
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
iWork is not as it's an upgrade and not an update. Upgrades for iWork have always had to be purchased. However, the previous iWork apps will work fine with Mavericks.

  • I have been paying for two edge agreements for the past 3-4 months AND i have not gotten a reimbursment for anything...

    Debit Card Transaction
    VERIZON WRLS 08253-01 800-9220204 CA         10/09
    $92.30
On October 11th I started an EDGE agreement for the NOTE 3. I make a $92.30 payment over the phone (which is listed above). The lady said it would arrive two days after the phone comes out. It didn't show up two days after it came out and my little Droid X went dead on me. I called customer service and asked if the phone has been shipped yet. They said it has not. I asked if I could pick it up in the store instead. They said yes. They said they would cancel the shipment so I can pick it up in the store. I end up going to the store at Torrance Crossroads and I was just about to get the phone. Then sales rep was trying to force me into buying the case and charger package that was a deal with the phone for $100.I said no and he got hurt and quiet over it. 5 minutes later he comes up to me saying the edge agreement is not cancelled and they can not give me the phone. I asked if there is anything he can do or call customer service and verify because customer service told me it could be done. He said no and walked away.
I call customer service and they say that they stopped the order and told me to go back to the store and try again. I did not wanna see the sales rep at Torrance Crossroads so I go to another Verizon store on hawthorne blvd in Torrance. I try the same process and the same thing happens. I tell them to call customer service and verify what is going on. I wait for 2 hours while they talk to customer service and the financial department. They tell me they will start another edge agreement on my girlfriends line and give me the note 3 so I can use it on my line. They said they waved the fee through some promotion since I went through a lot of trouble getting the phone and I should be getting a check in the mail for the $92.30 I paid on 10/11/13.
Ever since then I have been paying for two edge agreements at $29.16 a piece. I have also been paying an extra $8 for insurance on a note 3 that I do not have. I have not gotten reimbursed the $92.30 I paid on 10/11/13. I have been calling customer service since December and have not gotten any where. Today was the last straw when the guy put me on hold and I ended up getting transferred to the sales department... What should I do? Is there anyone that can actually help my situation out. I already suspended my line and will do so for the next 5 months until this is fixed.

    @Dakotaep
I am so sorry to hear of your experience with purchasing your new Samsung Galaxy Note 3!  This definitely should have been resolved in your first call to us.  I would be glad to review your account and ensure the Edge Agreement is corrected.  Please accept my "Follow" request and send me a direct message so I can further assist.  Thanks!

    Other details:
First album/s- Dookie (Green Day), american idiot (green day)
and 21st century breakdown (green day)
Album with same songs in it- international super hits (green day)

If I already own a song (from a different album) and the same song is in an album which I want to get, do I still have to pay for the song?
    Yes.
The album which the song has been listed under (on the song's page) is listed in your library under that album. The song is then removed automatically from the first album
    No it's not.
Purchasing a new song or album will not affect any other song or album in your library.
In the case of the two albums you mention, if you purchase them both, you will have the same song (different copies) in both albums.
