Internet slow since updating my 4s

Why is my 4s so slow since updating to ios6! Crashes all the tine, keypad lags and internet wont work!!!!! Mad is an understatement

First try resetting your network settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Restart the device and try and see how it's working.
Next you can try restoring your phone from a backup to see if that corrects the issue

IF that doesn't work, then reset the device and setup as a new device to eliminate the possiblity of there being a software issue.

  • IPhone 3GS Internet slowed since update

I just updated my iPhone this morning to the 3.1.3 and after I restarted my phone when I clicked on an app it said not connected to the Internet or needs to connect to stronger 3G network. I have great signal on 3G and my internet works fine through safari but I don't know what happened to my Internet with my apps.

HI Amelia and Welcome to Apple Discussions...
Tap Settings/Wi-Fi and make sure you are on the correct network.
If that isn't the issue, connect your iPhone to your computer. In the iTunes window under Applications disable the app that generated that message. It may have not been updated by the developer to be compatible with 3.1.3.
On your iPhone, with the app disabled, see if you can connect to your network. You can always re-sync that particular app.

  • Restarts very slow since updating to 10.8.3

Why are my restarts so slow since updating to 10.8.3?  I have a partition with Winows 7 (for my Sife's work) on it and have had for some time.  Ever since I updated to 10.8.3 when I restsart (either way) it takes three of four times longer for the computer to respond.  The chime sounds almost as soon as I click restart (either way) but the computer seemingly just sits there for 30 seconds before anything happens.  Once it starts every thing seems to be OK except once and a while when I restart to ML I have to restart again because the Dock will not magnify ( which it does on restarting the second time ).  All this never happened before updating to 10.8.3, and that was about two weeks ago.  All seems to work OK in either OS except for the above mentioned.

  • No internet access since updating to ios 8

Since updating my ipad air to ios 8.02, I can not use internet.  I get mail but sometimes the message is blank because of lack of internet.  I have also been able to use facetime.  I can not check for software update in settings.  I used itunes on my mac to verify that I did have latest software update on my ipad.   I also updated my ipod touch to ios 8.02 and it works.   I have plenty of memory so that's not the problem.  I did not upgrade to iCloud Drive.  I do not plan to store any documents on iCloud Drive at present.  Also contacts and calendar are not updating on ipad when I make changes on ipod.  Do I have to update to new iCloud drive to just update calendars and contacts?

  • Why does my ipad run slow since update

Since updating the software, my ipad runs slow, particularly games and web

    Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
     Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • Start up has slowed since updating 10.10.3

Since updating to 10.10.3 and installing the Recovery Update I have found start up to the apple icon and password has slowed a lot. Is anyone else having similar problems???

Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck
Open Startup Disk preferences. Select your startup drive and click on the Restart button.

  • IPhone touch response slow since update

Since updating, I've noticed the touch response on my iPhone has really lagged. For example, I touch SMS and it takes a couple seconds to respond. When I'm typing a text, again, it takes quite a bit longer for the iPhone to recognize the touched key. (This response lag happens throughout the iPhone, not just texting. That's merely an example.)
Is this an update issue? Is anyone else experiencing this?

I agree also, the phone is MUCH SLOWER, especially with typing and text.. please send feedback to apple at:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Here are my issues, from the email I wrote in the apple feedback:
My issue is with the keyboard typing and texting functions. I have three areas that have SIGNIFICANTLY affected my regular ease of use and efficiency while typing.
    1. Keyboard typing is SLOWER! The keyboard typing response no longer keeps up with my fingers, and continually mispells words because the time between typing and places the letter on the scream has SIGNIFICANTLY DECREASED. Whether it's becuase the typing features were changed with the software, or the unit is diverting processing to other areas, the typing take 30% longer than before the 2.0 update.
    2. Word recognition and replacement is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! Before the update, the phone would learn words I used often, and they would appear as I typed making it easier and faster to write a message or email. Now the phone doesnt remember the words I used to use, AND it doesnt learn them!! It also gets ordinary words wrong, and replaces them with obscure words that don't fit, unlike the earlier software edition which was way more convenient and efficient!!!
    3. Sending a new text to someone, with an old string of messages from the same person already existing in the inbox. In the previous software, if you sent a new message to someone, and an old string was already in the inbox, the new message would send and then get placed right under the old string and it would show you after it sent. The computer would recognize it sent to the same person and just add it. With the new version, it's almost as if the software went backwards, and is SERIOUSLY decreasing efficiency..
For the new version, after you send a message and the person already exists in an old string in the inbox, and new message box will appear after sending with JUST the single text sent. After hitting the 'Messages' button and going back to the inbox, you will see the persons name and a string for them. Clicking back onto the message, it will bring you to the TOP of the OLD STRING, with the new message sitting at the bottom. The programming for this DEFINITELY changed, with the new command bringing the message to the top, instead of the BOTTOM of the message, AND it doesnt look for old strings after being sent, waiting till later to be added together. This seriously takes away from its function. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!!!

  • IPad keeps losing its internet connection since updating to OS 8.1?

Since updating to the latest OS my iPad keeps dropping its internet connection. It has to be shut down and restarted then its back on line, but a while later will drop out again. What is wrong, and what can I do to correct it?

Try freeing up some memory by clearing open apps running in the background. Most people don't know this, but if you have a ton of apps running it can cause a few to crash. Double tap the home button to bring up the bottom. Every app down below is running in the background. Hold your finger down on one till they wiggle. Hit the minus button on all of them. It's good to clear this out of stuff your done using.

  • Totally frustrated - Internet moving extremely slow since update

Just started happening recently out of no where - I browse with Safari - but just realized it also happens with Firefox - takes forever to open a page - and forget it if even the simplest of multimedia, like pictures, happen to be on the page - for example a simple imdb.com page - and if i go to YouTube to play a simple 5 minute movie - well i can't wait long enough for it - could be twenty minutes before the thing will actually play without stopping every two seconds.
I feel like this started happening ever since I did my last updates which was for Safari... It is usually always something like that, being that once I installed a quicktime update, and all my videos lost audio - It was crazy. I thought updates were supposed to help! And apple does nothing about this stuff.
I have already "emptied the cache", "reset safari", and "repaired disc utility' - to no avail I should not have to be doing a ton of other stuff, and finagling with my computer in areas i shouldn't be, and don't understand, just to fix something that an update from Apple has upset. So frustrating!

    Hi Eww - Thank you...
Sorry, I thought I did say the update I did was "Safari" - Safari 3.2 to be exact on Nov 19th. This only started happening right after, that I know... And I am finding around the internet the same problem with no resolution. People noting a very similar problem since doing an update, some having done the most recent one (this very week's update which I don't even want to go near now), with more devastating results:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1804312&tstart=0
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8530167#8530167
I agree that it shouldn't be effecting Firefox - but it is... I don't claim to understand how that would work, but if things always made sense, we wouldn't constantly be needing to find "third party" fixes to things...
My hard drive is just above 100 GBs, and about half remains. no huge storage files have been adopted... I have not changed any network settings. I get a strong wireless signal, however, I am not sure what you mean by running OS X maintenance tasks- Could you please advise?
I have cleared the cache, reset safari, and repaired permissions on the HD...

I have been using Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign and Muse) on it for the last year with no problems at all. But now it has become virtually impossible to do anything as it takes to long. CC 2014 does not even load, the icons just bounce for 5 minutes until I give up.
I have looked on the forums for solution but none have worked so far. Any other suggestions are appreciated.

If this started happening without a warning of low disk space, then it's likely that the startup drive, or some other hardware component, is failing. Back up all data immediately, then make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store to have the machine tested.

  • Macbook Pro running extremely slow since updating to Yosemite

    Hello All,
I am new to the community and I'm hoping your pooled expertise can assist me with my issues. I went ahead and posted the results of my diagnostic scan below. My main concerns are that my Macbook Pro is now extremely slow after OSX updates. Also, laptop is running extremely hot to touch. I have mentioned other ongoing issues. I offer thanks in advance for any assistance.
    Problem description:
    Macbook Pro 13":
    Purchased in mid-2010.
    Most Recent Issue (Main Concern):
    (1) I recently updated OS X from Mountain Lion to Maverick. Computer began running extremely slow and “jerky.”
(1.1) Shortly after this I updated to OS X Yosemite. Computer runs, and types, even slower than before.
Ongoing Issues (Greater than one year):
    (1) Extremely short battery life (may last two hours on full charge)
    (2) Macbook runs extremely hot to touch (fan runs continuously but can’t begin to keep it cool)
    (3) SD Card reader doesn't recognize/open an SD card when inserted.
    Lex Cschellings Requested the Following:
No obvious elements in the list.
This may well be a dying disk and/or a very bad battery.
    Do following:
make a new etrecheck list and in the problem description put what Applications->Utilities->SystemInformation says about the battery (under the Power heading in the left panel): give cycle count and battery condition.
Then post the link in a new thread.
In the meantime the crash report is probably a French Dictionary issue (font? garcon garçon) you have installed, uninstall that and see if it happens again.

  • G4 Powerbook VERY slow since update

I've been using Macs for many, many years and this one is just BIZARRE.
I updated software this morning on my G4 Powerbook. The updates included the latest iTunes (7.4.2) and a compatibility update for QuickTime 7.2. During the update, my machine got VERY slow. Simple things like opening my documents folder took a minute or two (accompanied by the famous Apple Beach Ball). I had Safari, Graphic Converter and Software Update running, so I figured I was just taking on too many tasks at once. It took nearly fifteen minutes to quit Safari and GC and allow the update to run without competing for RAM or processor capacity. Eventually, SU finished, but it failed to update iTunes.
Rebooting my computer took more than 45 minutes. Here is what I've tried since then to "unclog" my system:
    1. Checked HD space. I've used about 65% of my 80GB HD. Nowhere near empty, but should not cause the problems I'm experiencing.
    2. Launched Activity Monitor to see what's going on. Both RAM and Processor graphs fluctuated in the 25% used area. Plenty of capacity there. Also checked processes running to see if something undesirable was running in the background. No clue there, either.
    3. Launched Disk Utility and repaired permissions. Also launched Terminal and performed periodic daily, weekly, and monthly tasks, as well as updated prebindings. No noticable change there.
My computer DOES still work. It just runs EXTREMELY slow motion. I've never seen anything like it. Right now, I'm trying to get the Powerbook to launch as the Firewire Target Disk on my G4 iMac. If that works, I can perform a sync in preparation to re-install the OS (I have the two machines synced already, but it's been a couple of weeks since the last one). Also, after the sync, I can try to run some diagnostics on the Powerbook from the iMac. However, rebooting in Target Disk mode has taken more than 2 hours so far. It's not locked up (still have the spinning startup circle on the blue backgroound) but I'm not getting anywhere fast.
Anyway, I'm kind of at a loss here. Does anyone know what might cause this sort of bizarre behavior in my mac? Would love to know how I can fix it.

My dad's laptop has the same problem. It takes 4 minutes to start it up. Then he gets the spinning beach ball a lot. The balls shows up when he types on the ichat or looking on the internet. I don't have all the symptoms since he is in Canada and I'm in Florida. I made him do the REPAIR PERMISSIONS and it didn't change anything.
I would like to know about the BATTERY comment?? What does a BATTERY has to do with slowing down? I am not implying that it's wrong, I just don't understand it and I am curious about it.
The laptop is about 4-5 years old and if there is a connection between SLOW and BATTERY I would like to know more.

  • Response time is extremely slow since update

Since the update over the weekend, my phone takes such a long time to respond to a touch that I wonder if it has completely frozen up.  It's like this no matter what screen I am on or what tasks I am doing - all apps, pics, texts, etc...EVERYTHING IS SLOW!!! The signal suddenly drops when on calls and internet - 4G, 3G, wifi - they all just stop.  I have tried rebooting, have taken the battery & memory/SIM cards out - no improvement at all.  Is anyone else having these problems?? Any helpful hints??

A hard reset isn't that bad.  I removed my SD card before doing it.  So lots of personal pictures and things like that all remain intact.
A fresh start on reloading apps isn't always a bad thing either ;-)
It was less than 15 minutes to have it back functioning as a phone... then re-customizing began.
I was seeing a number of apps not available to me since the TBolt was on the Gingerbread version of Android.  While the newer OS may be more heavyweight, hopefully there are some efficiencies too.  Time will tell ;-)
