  • Why is my internet speed so slow?

Why is my internet speed so slow.  Ohter computers connected to my network are not having this problem.

    Hi,
If you feel that your Internet connection is slow then
1)Try to find If your computer is affected with malicious software or scripts, try to remove them and use a powerful anti virus to scan your system.
2)Clear all the cache files and history of the browsers, this may help in increasing the browsing speed.
3)Avoid using browsers which requires flash and Java scripts. And use the browsers like FireFox and Chrome.By using this browser you can increase the downloading speed ,because this browsers don't use and flash and Java script. After doing this check your internet speed in the site ScanmySpeed.com  which may provides you the exact speed of your connection without using any java or any flash scripts.

  • Internet is very slow but says i have a good connection ?

My internet is very slow but yet i have a good connection please help

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If the answer is no, do that now and see whether there's any change.
Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same?
What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
Are there any other devices on the same network that can browse the Web, and are they affected?
If you can test Safari on another network, is it the same there?
If you connect to your router with Wi-Fi and you can also connect with Ethernet, do that and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?

It is hardly Apple's fault that Epson can't/won't update their driver, but at least Epson suggest that you use the Gutenprint driver, which in any case is far better that what Epson offer.
    You can get it here:
    http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/
You can download the latest version from here:
    http://sourceforge.net/projects/gimp-print/
Have you downloaded the recent Apple update to Epson drivers?

My internet is very slow, it takes a long time for webpages to load and things to download. Here are my speedtest results, if its helpful. http://www.speedtest.net/result/1029395537.png

You are right the newer pc, as long as it is hardwired and free of any spyware malware and not unusually high cpu usage, should perform better. Is it running high usage?

  • Internet speed is slow with Mountain Lion 10.8.2

Internet speed is slow with Mountain Lion 10.8.2, but booting in separate drive running 10.6 is fine. Tried renewing DHCP, zapped the PRAM, ran disk utilities, and sudo chron.  No change. I am running 2008 Mac Pro, 8 gig ram, AT&T DSL via ethernet. Getting 0.15Mbps instead of 3Mbps.

Did you try creating a new location and deleting the old one? Just renewing the DCHP on its own may not be enough. Follow all the instructions here, first:

If that doesn't work, have a look at my further instructions here:

  • IOS7 wifi and LTE speed very slow.

iOS7 wifi and LTE speed very slow compared to iOS6.  This was proven with Safari and using speed test app.

I have exactly the same problem symptom ever since installing iOS7. Toggling the FaceTime or the LTE settings alleviated the problem until I installed the latest version on IOS (7.0.4- 11B554a). Now the bug is permanent, a Network Reset will not work anymore, a System Reset will work only for the first execution of Speedtest.
Looks like the network software is throttling LTE speed to the minimum (.50 Mbps) up/download speed no matter what. Now unlimited Data means nothing, maybe AT&T wants me to go to Verizon or Tmobile.
I reported this problem to AT&T Sept 26 when I first installed IOS7, they told me there was no problem really that I needed to wait for the LTE network congestion to go away...? Since I found a circumvention by toggling LTE I did not pursued the problem...
After reporting the problem again this morning, they sent me to the AT&T store to change the SIM card.... I will try this and report back if it fixes the problem... Although I doubt it will fix anything but burn and extra hour of my day. The AT&T rep said that if the new SIM card doesn't fix the problem I need to go to Apple for them to give me a new Iphone....???? I guess there are many iPhones gone bad after installing IOS7 (sarcasm).
If you have this same problem, please post here so that I am able to get back to AT&T with some leverage to get them to remove the choking of LTE. Basically, if everyone accepts the new low speeds, then, unlimited data is no longer a problem for this phone company.

  • IOS 6 upgrade prevented Youtube from working and internet is very slow

Since I upgraded to ios6, the internet is very slow and youtube stopped working.  Tried to download youtube app from google in itunes but it has not been working.  Used to love my iphone 5 but now very disappointed.  At this point I'm considering to return the phone.  Tried using youtube in safari but nothing.  Any help is appreciated.

If you JUST updated it, may be that Software Update is still downloading pending updates. Since Mountain Lion does that thru the App Store, so you can start that up and check in Update/Purchases/Check for Unfinished Downloads...
Or you can start up the Activity Monitor in Utilities, click on the Network tab and if you see a solid green line pegging the roof, means the kitty is downloading stuff for all it's worth.
Default setting is to automatically check for and download any available updates. Adjustable in System Preferences / Software Update.

I'm not sure about that. But what you could try is to set the Update Preference to "Manual" and try updating at a time when the Network may not be as busy, like late at night or early in the morning.
    Just an idea.

  • Firewall/VPN Model-SG300 Cyberguard after configuration internet working very slow....please help me...

my lease ling directly in this device.
    please help me....
    Thanks,
    Madhukar

    Hi Madhukar,
It seems that it is not a hyper-v issue .
For troubleshooting this please use your computer to access internet directly (without firewall ).
If it works well , you may go over the configuration of the firewall .
Also you can contact the hardware vendor .
    Best Regards

  • Wired Internet Speed ridiculously slow

I am running Windows 8 64 bit on an HP Pavilion p7-1414 Desktop PC.
For a while I have had a pretty good experience, but for whatever reason my brother decided he should do a HP System Recovery and completely reinstalled Windows. Anyways, got everything set up again but noticed that the Internet speed was slower than usual. Contacted my ISP and asked about it and they said it wasn't anything wrong with the connection. Before the recovery I did not have this problem, but I noticed that it gets EXTREMELY bad when I install AVG free or even BitDefender, any antivirus besides Norton. I can try downloading say, a game, and the internet speed will start out at the usual 1MB per second, then it will rapidly decrease until it gets to about 15-400kb per second. If I pause and unpause it, it will start higher than 400 but then decrease to its usual speed.
I have tried another reinstallation of Windows, which didn't do any good. I have installed all possible Windows updates and Driver updates.
I just don't know what to do now, has anyone else ran into this problem and managed to fix it?
Edit: I should also mention that for some reason the Wireless adapter will not work on this computer anymore either, this happened after the first reinstallation. I have tried two different networks, neither work on my computer but work flawlessly with my Android phone and Xbox 360.
I'm not sure but maybe the Internet driver has something to do with it? In any case, the one I have is Qualcomm Atheros AR8161 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.30) while the wireless one is: Ralink RT5390R 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Adapter.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you have installed and uninstalled multiple antivirus it is possible that some remnants of one are interferring with another.
It's just a hunch, but that's what I think it is.
I would suggest getting rid of Norton completely since their antivirus costs money and is a resource hog.
There is a program to uninstall it, search for it on google, called nonav.exe (No N.orton A.nti V.irus) and it thoroughly deletes all traces of norton.
As far as wireless goes there might be a switch that isn't obvious.  When you go to device manager, is it installed?
