Internet very slow via Ethernet on my New Macbook Pro

I bought brand new Macbook pro 13.3 Mid 2012, 2 days back, internet worked fine for the first 30 minutes then it started me to put it in the trouble. Webpages were unable load completely, i have no problem with the internet beacuse i checked it with other PC windows, it is working absolutely fine.
Was there was any problem with the new product? If it was, whether it can be replaced with the new product by Apple.
Please help me to support in this case.

It's probably - more likely than not - a problem with your network setup rather than your MacBook Pro. Are you able to use it wirelessly? Does the problem occur only when you're using wired Ethernet? Have you tried resetting your router and your modem?
Try resetting all of your preferences in Network under System Preferences and then begin anew, after resetting your modem and router (if you've a battery-powered modem, you might have to use the actual reset button rather than just powering it off).
If everything is fine with your router and modem you should be able to setup Ethernet and WiFi preferences on your MBP.

I am using Windows Migration Assistant to migrate from my 3 year old HP laptop running Windows 8 to a brand new iMac using an ethernet cable..
The pairing went well but, after 36 hours the laptop tells me there are 13 hors to go and iMac says 8 hours +. What am I doing wrong?

Wi-Fi and Ethernet are very slow ways and I don't recommend to use them unless you have to transfer small sizes. If they are big, don't use it.
What you can do is to make a Time Machine backup on your old hard drive, so get an external drive to do it. See > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1427
After making the backup, connect the external drive to your new iMac and use Migration Assistant to restore your files. If you haven't set up your iMac yet, Setup Assistant will ask you to restore the backup.
You have to restart both iMacs before doing this, so migration will be stopped

Wifi tether works flawless on my Gateway laptop, slow like dialup on my new Macbook Pro 15 in retina...why?

Just bought my first Mac and love it. However I have been using my phone tethering 3g speeds here in the Detroit area flawlessley on my Gateway 14 in laptop and even now it still works good. But my new mac has my tethering service on my phone running slower than a dog...for what I spent on this laptop I couldnt imagine there would be a better wireless network reciever in that POS gateway than this Mac. Gateway internet, great, can watch whatever I want and browser runs smooth and gaming is fast. New Mac, websites hardly load, videos are pretty much impossible to watch, and gaming, which is what I would love to be able to do isnt working on it either. If anyone knows why my Mac isnt responding good at all to my wifi tether or you have suggestions or solutions I would appreciate it a ton. I cant have my internet this slow and I am not paying for cable internet...

Assuming this does not happen at a specific time of day but randomly when ever she connects, she may need to power cycle the modem/router, with the MBP off, after it reestablishes connection and IP addresses, then power up the MBP and reconnect.

Enabling Ethernet with a new MacBook Pro

Hi all, just got my new MacBook after my iBook died a horrible death. I'm in a hotel and plugging in the ethernet cable does nothing. I can't see how I configured my ethernet port on my iBook because of it's aforementioned death.
What do I need to do in order to get my ethernet port working? It does show up in Network preferences, btw.

Goto SystemPreferences->Network->Location->new location
name your new location 'hotel' for example click ok, then click apply now.
then from the Show menu choose Network status and see if your ethernet port gets and IP address.

Internet is either very slow or won't connect to MacBook Pro.

There's no problem with the desktop Windows PC we have, though its connected directly to the router via cable. I've tried clearing the cache and cookies and etc. from Safari. I can get the wifi to connect if I go through the Network diagnostic, though it doesn't work. Help?

Try:
1: Create a new network location in System Preferences > Network (edit locations > new)
2: Make sure your time and date are current and correctly being updated. (match the PC's)

Very strange desktop behavior on brand new macbook pro

w/ all the latest apple updates.
i just received this laptop in the mail, and as i was adding come 'essential' programs, i started to notice an odd behavior:
using safari, i was downloading applications from version tracker. for instance, Textwranger.
for some reason, after the file downloads and unpacks, the temporary download file xxxx.dmg.download doesn't disappear until i place my mouse over it.
then, the file that is unpacked does not show up on my desktop unless i specifically search for it using spotlight.
i also have a file in the trash that wont delete when i empty it : UnRarX
i literally have only been using this computer for an hour or so.

Yes, the finder prefs do have that option. While you are in Finder app, right under "Finder" in the menubar, go to Preferences (command comma) and under the General tab, check Hard disk "show these items on the Desktop".. and under the Sidebar tab, check hard disk in "show these items in the Sidebar".
If you are lacking normally displayed items or having problems with settings or system differences, do the "Reset PRAM" by restarting and holding the command, option, p and r keys until you hear the third chime. Do not release those keys until you have heard the THIRD chime ... it is important.

Itunes library on PC -> WD Passport for Mac (connected via airport extreme to new MacBook Pro). I plan to use this as the default location for my library because the new Pro only has 256 GB onboard.

Installing iDVD on a new MacBook Pro

I was very disappointed to learn that my new MacBook Pro did not come with iDVD. So, if I insert my iLife '11 disk, will I have the opportunity to only install iDVD? I certianly don't want to do anything that would mess up the existing iLife applications that came pre-installed on my computer.

Can't Connect Via Ethernet on new MacBook Pro

I'm running into a frustrating problem and hoping someone can help.
I have a new MacBook Pro that won't connect via Ethernet. My old computer (Powerbook G4) with the same settings works flawlessly.
Details: under Network Settings I have Automatic/Using DHCP. When I click on Assist Me>Diagnostics, I get green lights all the way down (Built-In Ethernet, Network Settings, ISP, Internet, Server). The Diagnostics tool therefore proudly announces that my Internet connection is working correctly.
When I open Safari, however, it won't open any page. Using Ping I also get no responses.
When I plug the exact same ethernet cable into my Powerbook G4, everything works flawlessly. The only difference is that the IP address ends in .25 instead of .30 (I assume that's from the router assigning different IP addresses to the two computers.)
On another forum i read about someone having a problem with a long/lossy ethernet cable, but I just took my computer to the router and tried with a 2-foot ethernet cable. Same situation.

Yes, ethernet connection indeed elminates the Wi-Fi interference and such, but more details needs to be furnished in order to make judgement:
1: What application are you using? (Watch Youtube stream slow, Running uTorrent on OSX, or using some VPN services in order to watch Netflix and Hulu Plus that has yet to reach to your location or using FaceTime and such video calls etc)
2: What time does it happen (ISP may slows down connection during peak hours)
3: I presume your speed is somewhere in between 10Mbps ~ 25Mbps, correct me if I am wrong
4: How many other device are using the same Internet network. Are there any person using other computers / tablets / phones to surf Internet or even stream videos concurrently as you)
1. Watching youtube. No video phone stuff including skype, just regular internet browsing.
2. Happening constantly. No fast or slow hours.
3. Firefox runs at 700kbs on a 6mbs line.
4. No other devices or people connected.
I have changed over from netgear n600 router to Belkin and back again. Exact same speeds.
Must be software or hardware within mac.

Brand new Macbook Pro 10.8.2 very slow wifi

All of my other wireless devices are very quick on my home wifi. I am using a macbook pro, 2.5 GHz i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
I have installed all updates, tried making a new network location, still very slow. 8 hours to download a 4.6 GB app from the store. My 06 iMac will download files this size in minutes and it's still running pre snow leopard OSX. Anyone know whats going on here? I'm very disappointed so far. Hope there is a fix.

It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference nearby that is preventing your AEBSn from providing a clean RF signal on the 2.4 GHz band.
I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using utilities like iStumbler, or AirRadar to determine potential areas of interference, and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them where possible.

Ah, a Powerbook. I miss that. Anyways, I believe that the Powerbook G4 has an Firewire 400/800 port. Why don't you do that? It's fast, and you don't have to set up one of those funky reverse wire ethernet cables. I wouldn't use Migration Assistant, but that's just me. Too many issues. I'd start up your brand new MacBook Pro and during the setup assistant, it'll ask you to transfer data from an older Mac. Using firewire with a Target Disk Mode, it's pretty fast.
If you have already opened up your new Mac and are using it, then use Migration assistant, but also with the Firewire (preferably 800).

* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
* Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
