Internet was interrupted while installing yosemite

I was installing Yosemite at my school, which was a mjsgake because the Internet will automatically log you out sometimes. Currently, my laptop is sitting with an apple logo and a progress bar underneath with no progress... Not even after 6 hours and restarting it a few times. Im at home and my laptop should recognize my internet but it's not working still.

Hey meady555,

• Hard disk error while installing Yosemite

Hi all,
While installing Yosemite, my Macbook 17 in, I got an error after the reboot of the computer. The screen shows "Installing on "Macintosh HD", and the remaining time ..... and then, I get the message saying, "OS X cannot be installed on your computer. File system verify or repair failed. Quit the installer or restart your computer and try again."
I have been restarting a couple of times, and I get the same message every time. I cannot go back to my previous installation of Mavericks. While holding the option button and rebooting, I am presented with only two options .. OS X Installer and the recovery disk. Where did the Mavericks install on the Macintosh HDD disappear?
Choosing the first option (OS X Installer) does not boot into the OS, takes me back to the same routine thatI described above and gives me the error that I talked about. Choosing the latter gives me the Disk utility. I verified the disk's permissions, and the utility found some errors that it was able to fix. I proceeded to verify the disk, which informed me that the hard disk needs to be repaired. When I clicked on repair disk, the repairing went on for some time and it gave me an error message saying, "Disk Utility can't repair this disk. Back up as many of your files as possible, reformat the disk and restore your backed up files."
What are my options now? How do I retrieve the data that I have on the HDD?
My hard disk was not giving me any problems all these days while I had Mavericks OS installation on the laptop. It is not clunking now.... It seems to be fine. Do you think, there is some problem with the hardware inside the HDD? Or is some data on the HDD corrupt which caused it to not to be repaired?
Appreciate your help.
Regards,
Kamran.

Press X at startup to force a boot to Leopard. Press Eject, F12, or hold the trackpad button during startup to eject the Windows CD.

• ITunes was interrupted while restoring... iOS4.2.1

I have had a set of problems with my iPhone 3G upgrading to iOS4.2.1 but now all appears to be working fine today.
Now however when I plug my iPhone into my iMac I keep getting the message:
"iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iPhone "XXXXX". Would you like to restore this iPhone again? Cancel Delete Backup Continue Restore"
I keep selecting Cancel as it appears to be working.
How can I stop iTunes for displaying this message EVERYTIME I connect my iPhone?

thanks nick101 - there doesn't appear to be any antivirus programs running.
Tried a third MacBook, which recognized there was an upgrade for the iPhone to 4.2, downloaded it and then when appearing to be done went right back into the Restore loop - back to brick one..
Any other ideas?
thanks

• The connection to complaints.donotcall.gov was interrupted while the page was loading." All other pages load okay. Everything loads perfectly on I/E 8

When logging on to the "do not call website" to file a complaint I get the following message "The connection to complaints.donotcall.gov was interrupted while the page was loading." All other pages load okay. Everything loads perfectly on I/E 8.
I have started Firefox in the safe mode and got the same results.
Turned off firewall and virus programs, no help. I have 2 new computers about 2 years old both have the same problem with ver. 12.0

Try to rename the cert8.db file in the Firefox profile folder to cert8.db.old or delete the cert8.db file to remove intermediate certificates that Firefox has stored.
If that helped to solve the problem then you can remove the renamed cert8.db.old file.
Otherwise you can rename (or copy) the cert8.db.old file to cert8.db to restore the previous intermediate certificates.
Firefox will automatically store intermediate certificates when you visit websites that send such a certificate.

Seen in past posts, some years old this has been a problem. Tried everything I know: turn off anti-virus, restart, used adobe cleaner, etc. Any other solutions? Thank you.

Hey eDougS,
Just need to ensure that after using Acrobat cleaner tool, do you get the same 'wizard interrupted' error?
Also, please try creating a different user account and then install the software.
You might also visit this forum link if that could help in your case:

• How to avoid the user accounts to appear in the disk boot while installing Yosemite?

Hi, there is an issue when I encrypt the disk in Yosemite, when I make a clean installation, I first format partition with encryption, install system and restart computer, in the first boot the system ask only for disk password then continue creating user account, when I finish the configuration and restart the computer, the first boot screen ask me for disk password or user password, this is wrong, I want that the system ask me first the disk password and then the users accounts passwords to start the session as it was in Mavericks, so I try different ways to do this.
1. In clean Installation is not working, every time that create a user it appears in the first boot screen, in which the system must ask only for disk password.
2. In upgrade Installation with a computer already encrypted, it appears to works properly but if you create a new user it appears in the first boot screen.
3. I test this by doing a clean installation without encryption, create a user and make an image of this partition, then I copy the dwg image to an external disk, then start computer with an USB with Yosemite, using disk utility I erase the partition and format it with encryption, then restore the dwg image in this partition, it looks that works properly, but if I create a New User then the new user appears in the first boot screen when only must ask for disk password.
Can someone help me with this issue please?
If there is someone of Mac can you tell me if this is going to be corrected in this version? or we must wait for the next OS X version.
Thank You.

• Constant error message while installing Yosemite

Hello all,
I've had some frustrations while trying to upgrade from Mavericks to Yosemite and I keep getting the error message "This copy of the Install OS X Yosemite.app application can't be verified. It may have been corrupted or tampered with during downloading." I have repeatedly deleted it and re-installed it and I still get the same message. I have even tried to download and install it in Safe Mode...No success. Anyone know what is causing this not to install?

Then do a disk repair in case you have a problem on the drive causing this to happen:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion or Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

what do i do when this comes up after my download freezes after 99%????? im running windows vista SP2 and i have IE9??

Hi Romano!
Answer to your question.
1. My computer operating system is Windows 8.1K, 64 bit.
2. I purchased my AdobePremierElements11 in July 2, 2013. I have serial number.
3. When I re-installing the AdovePremiereElemments, It was removed automatically.
So there is no the program in the Control Panel/Programs. I checked back directly.
4. My computer was not infected with a virus.
5. In the Local Disk (C:)\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\
There is no folder name of the OOBE and OLDOOBE.
Suspicious circumstances.
I tried to install the AdobePremierElements11.
I entered my information( name, country, serial number)
and I started the installation.
But since about 85% proceeded the installation program stopped and computer can't seem to installation.
I had to reboot the computer.
and I have tried to install.
Strangely, my costomer information( name, country, serial number) came floating up in the 'IstallShield Wizard Pop-up Window', even though I do not enter my information.
When I click Next button to continue 'IstallShield Wizard Pop-up Window' say "IstallShield Wizard Completed and The installation wizard was interrupted while installing Adobe Premiere Elements 11. Your system has not been modified. To complete installation at another time, please run setup again. Click Finish to exit the wizard."
So I and finished.
As a result, I could not install the program.
That's all.
Please help me.
Thank you

• When trying to install yosemite it won't let me select and disk drive including the hd for install. Whats the problem?

While installing yosemite, after agreeing to the terms it ask for a disk drive to select for install. All of mine that come up say that yosemite cannot install to that one. This includes my HD. What is the problem?

I subscribe to the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and it currently works fine with 10.9.5, or it works fine as my start up disk presently.
The reason I suspect FDE is the culprit is from reading this:
http://fairerplatform.com/2014/06/can-mac-run-os-x-10-10-yosemite/
and in the known issues for installation it mentions "may be unable to install over an encrypted volume" and while this is from an older version, I'm going to hold off now until I've seen that 'Known issue' resolved. I'm having trouble finding a copy of the current release notes.
This account of installing Yosemite seems to have hit a number of the Known Issues:
http://onword.co/6642/
My FDE linux installations know how to upgrade themselves on a full disk encrypted systems. I'm a little disappointed this is an issue at all, and am going to wait. It's not worth the risk of bricking this machine.

• ITunes was interrupted whilst restoring... iOS4

I have had a major set of problems with my iPhone 3G upgrade to iOS4 but I left it last night and all appears to be working fine today.
Now however when I plug my iPhone into my MacBook I keep getting the message:
"iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of the iPhone "XXXXX". Would you like to restore this iPhone again? [Cancel] [Delete Backup] [Continue Restore]"
I keep selecting [Cancel] as it appears to be working.
How can I stop iTunes for displaying this message EVERYTIME I connect my iPhone?

Having the exact same issues here. I'm hesitant to just hit the delete backup button because I fear it may delete everything on my phone again. I am using the most current version of iTunes with a 3G 16 gig iPhone.
I had many problems updating to iOS4, but after nearly a day of re-updating it finally went through, but wiped my iPhone clean. I hit the restore from backup button and everything seemed to restore normally but I had a message on my computer that iTunes was unable to restore the iPhone. Now, every time I plug my iPhone in I get the message "iTunes was interrupted while restoring the contents of iPhone". If I hit cancel, I seem to be able to sync my iPhone just fine, but I get this message every time I plug the iPhone in and I can't seem to back it up.
This seems to be a problem affecting many of us 3G users. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

• I use firefox to get my gmail but now i keep getting "the connection was interrupted" message which i never got before

i have been using firefox to access my gmail. however, only since today i get the following message:
The connection was interrupted
The connection to mail.google.com was interrupted while the page was loading.
The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.
however, i am able to connect on my ipad for gmail.
helppppppp!!!!

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
*Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Also make sure to allow Firefox in your security software (firewall).
Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test.

• For g-mail sign inI get "Google was interrupted ....etc" andcan only sing in with desktop or laptop-

When trying to sign on to gmail, I get a message "The connection to www.google.com was interrupted while the page was loading."
And sometimes I CAN sign on but with either desktop or laptop but not both.
How to solve?

I guess your 2730 is switching from 3G to 2G during connection. Set from dual mode to UMTS only. Because you're using TCP/IP ( not WAP), it shouldn't matter what kind of data you're down or uploading.
