Interpret acknowledgement
Hello all,
I' m trying to interpret a transport Acknowledgement in a BPM.
My szenario. In a loop is a async send step ( to soap). If the acknowledgement is positiv, the loop process has to leave. But how can I ask for the acknowledgement.
Best regards
Mathias
Hello Sandro,
I know that I can select the kind of acknowledgement in the properties of the send step.
My question is, how can I interpret whether the result is positiv or negativ.
Thanx
Mathias

XI acknowledgment from axis soap adapter
We have implemented an integration from SAP ERP to an external system via XI. SAP sends a message to XI via proxy which is then mapped to a web service call to the external system via the axis soap adapter. If there is a problem the axis adapater sends back an acknowlodgement message with the soap error. This message is correctly interpreted by XI as en error acknowledgement. The acknowledgement message however fails in the routing as it is not able to find a receiver agreement for routing the message back. There is of course actually no valid recepient for this acknowledgement as the original message was created using an asynchronous proxy call. The problem is however that the original message is flagged as successful even though the acknowledgement contains an error. What we want to achieve is that the error in the acknowledgment causes the original message in XI to be flagged as failed, to allow error detection. Does anyone have any idea how to achive this ?
Rgds
Evind LangsaeterHi
We do not require any acknowledgements. But for the cases where the soap call is delivered, but returns a http response of 500 together with a complete soap envelope containing a soap fault, the Soap Axis Receiver Adapter is issuing an u201CApplicationErroru201D Acknowledgement Message (referring to the original request message) (even though it is not requested). This Acknowledgement Message is failing on the Integration Server with a configException u201CFailed to determine a receiver agreement for the given messageu201D. We have tried to create a receiver agreement and reciever channel with the given keys from the error message, but still getting the same result.
Issue A: How to get this (non-requested) Acknowledge message to process without error.
Issue B: How to get a proper u201Cerror-messageu201D telling that the original request message was not really delivered though (as the soap call gets a http response of 500).

Interpretation of the use of threads with Sessions in the JMS Specification
Hello,
I’ve been interacting with two JMS Providers which do a different interpretation of the JMS Specification with the use of different threads for accessing to a session and session’s related objects.
The question is:
When a client is consuming messages asynchronously, is it possible to access session’s related objects from a thread different to the one dedicated to the asynchronous consumption, on (thread of control)?
- Never?
- Yes, but the client should provide explicit synchronization.?
Our execution scenario is:
1.- Messages are consumed asynchronously from a dedicated thread.
2.- From other thread, messages consumed are acknowledged.
In the JMS specification there is, at least, two parts where this issue is treated:
1.- The first one (4.4.1 - page 60):
+“There are no restrictions on the number of threads that can use a Session object or those it creates. The restriction is that the resources of a Session should not be used concurrently by multiple threads. It is up to the user to insure that this concurrency restriction is met. The simplest way to do this is to use one thread. In the case of asynchronous delivery, use one thread for setup in stopped mode and then start asynchronous delivery. In more complex cases the user must provide explicit synchronization.”+
This extract, makes me think that it is possible the access from different threads, but If I do that, I should provide explicit synchronization.
2.- The second one (4.4.6 – page 62,63)
+"Once a connection has been started, any session with a registered message listener(s) is dedicated to the thread of control that delivers messages to it. It is erroneous for client code to use this session or any of its constituent objects from another thread of control. The only exception to this is the use of the session or connection close method"?+
This extract, could be interpreted as that the concurrent access is never allowed in the described situation.I think the key words are in 4.4.6 (and also the javadoc for Session): "Once a connection has been started, any session with a registered message listener(s) is dedicated to the thread of control that delivers messages to it".
My interpretation of this is that you when you register a message listener and call connection.start(), the thread which delivers messages to the listener should be thought of as "using the resources of the session" (as mentioned in 4.4.1) continuously until the connection is stopped (or until the session or connection is closed). it doesn't matter whether the session is executing onMessage() or not.
Given this, both 4.4.1 and 4.4.6 say the same thing: that once you have registered and started a message listener, the only thing you can do to the session from another thread is to close it.
I agree the spec could be clearer. In particular the words "In more complex cases the user must provide explicit synchronization" in 4.4.6 should be clarified to state what this actually means rather than give a hint.
Please note that work has just started on updating the JMS specification, so now is a great time to report areas of the JMS spec which would benefit from clarification. If you'd like this to be considered for clarification, please report it in the official JSR 343 issue tracker at http://jms-spec.java.net

BUG: Saved Brightness/Contrast Actions Steps Interpreting "Use Legacy" Differently
Photoshop CS6 is interpreting saved Brightness/Contrast action steps differently than CS5.
The following two screen grabs were captured after double-clicking the exact same saved step in a saved action that removes banding noise.
Note that Photoshop CS5 has interpreted the step as having the [ ] Use Legacy value selected, while CS6 has not.
This could be at the root of why some folks are reporting actions compatibility issues.
CS5:
CS6:
-NoelAllowing this failure to remain in the release is going to mean I'm going to have customer issues with my commercial actions, many of which I have not had to change for 6 major version releases now.
It needs to be addressed!
Other folks are getting acknowledgement and feedback from Adobe personnel, ''I have logged a bug'', etc. Could I please ask for the same courtesy?
I can supply you with an action you can use to test with if you'd like. Matter of fact, here's one. Run it on Photoshop CS5 and CS6 to see a major difference in results.

Acknowledge a sent message?
Hy,
I'am sending messages between servers. I know that when the message is received at the destination, the container acknowledges the producer telling him that the message has been received correctly. But is there a way for the programmer to know that when he send a msg from server A to server B, server B acknowledges server A after having received and processed the message?
When using MDB for sending & receiving messages in a Queue, is there a guarantee that when a message is sent, that same message will be delivered to its required destination?
thanks in advancehi gulshan,
as you say, delivery guarantees in JMS only apply to the JMS server. i.e., a producer gets an acknowledgement, once the message has been successfully delivered to the server. since the server is using persistence, no messages can get lost and eventually a consumer can pick up the message.
if you want to be informed of this situation, where the ultimate receiver gets the message, you have two options (all this relies on persistent messages & durable subscribers):
1) use the JMS_ReplyTo header so that the consumer can acknowledge the original message at the JMS level with the producer. the consumer could produce the ACk once it has done all the necessary processing for the received message (ie., update of a database, etc)
2) check the JMS destination from the consumer for the disappearance of the just produced messages. this could then be interpreted to indicate successful pickup by a consumer. you wouldn't know whether the consumer has actually performed the necessary operations required by the message stimulus.
3) the arjunaMS provides an optional notification, when ALL durable subscribers on a topic have received a given message. a notification is then produced on a special destination to which the producer can be listening. again, this doens't give you control over whether the consumer has actually performed any necesssary actions. however, the advantage is that you know when all the subscribers listening to a topic have received a message.
hope that helps.
regards, thomas

Logical system name for acknowledgement in BPM
Hi,
I have a szenario:
IDOC --> BPM --> MAIL
Inside BPM I check the message and depending on an xml-element I stop the process or I send the message by mail.
When I stop the process the BPM sends back an acknowledgement and in SXMB_MONI I can see an error of the acknowledgement:
"Sender Test_BPM_IDOC_TO_MAIL kann nicht in ein ALE Logisches System umgeschlüsselt werden" (Sender can not convert in a ALE logical system)
What can I do?
Possible Solution 1:
I can define my BPM "Test_BPM_IDOC_TO_MAIL" as a logical system (including WE20 for ALEAUD).
Possible Solution 2:
I can enter an existing logical system name in the "adapter specific attributes".
BUT it is not use the same logical system name twice (BAD ... or is there a workaround?
Is Solution 1) a common way?
Thanx
Regards
Wolfgang HummelHi,
there are many ways:
some for aleaud are described in my book:

Sender Mail Adapter, technical Acknowledgement
Hi all,
I have a SMTP --> XI --> Proxy Scenario. For the inbound message I get via SMTP, I'd like to send a technical acknowledgement back to the Sender (via SMTP, too). The acknowledgement has a specific message structure, for example it contains the DocumentID of the inbound message I get via SMTP.
My idea now is: Within ReceiverDetermination, I configure two receivers:
1. Backend system for the Inbound Proxy
2. original Sender System
Within Interface Determination, I'll do 2 mappings:
1. Mapping from source message to ABAP proxy interface
2. Mapping from source message to technical acknowledgement structure
Then, receiver agreements / receiver communication channels for both interfaces.
My question now is: is there a more elegant solution then doing the scenario like described above? Maybe something I can do in the Sender Mail Adapter to create the specific technical acknowledgement and sent it back to the sending application?
Best regards
HolgerHi Holger !
XI supported acks are not available for your scenariom because the smtp/mail sender cannot request it.
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/f4/8620c6b58c422c960c53f3ed71b432/frameset.htm
You should create some kind of artificial ack, that should be part of your own protocol. What I meant with the SYNC proxy, is to use its response message as your own defined ack, because it is not supported as is.
If you call your proxy async, then you will not receive any feedback to use it as ack info.
Another idea could be to forget the ack per se, and just use define an alert in case of problems with the scenario to send a mail to the specified users.

"Cannot interpret data in file" error while using GUI_UPLOAD for .xls file
Hi,
I have made a program using FM GUI_UPLOAD to upload an .xls file to an internal table. But upon executing ,it gives error "Cannot Interpret data in file". I have seen in other posts people talking about GUI_UPLOAD FM to upload data from excel directly into internal table. Kindly help.
Here is my code. I had tried using different combination for HAS_FIELD_SEPARATOR but still its not working.
In my emp1.xls file , the data in each column is present in the same order as in the internal table. Although the first column in my internal table is NUMC. I dont know if that is causing the problem.
