Interrupted podcast download will not complete

I've had a couple of podcasts that were apparently interrupted, leaving only a partly downloaded file.
They look otherwise normal but are a lot shorter. The time display shows the correct shorter time.
So unless I listen to it, I have no idea if it is the full file or not. An abrupt ending tells me something went wrong.
The download really should resume, if the file has not been downloaded fully yet. And iTunes should show that the file is still incomplete.
Anyone know how Apple implemented this? Does it really leave an incomplete file alone, or was this just me somehow breaking the download?

I have the same problem. Unfortunately I have no choice at this time but dial-up (unless I go to satellite), so it is really irritating to download for hours, only to get a partial file. Also, once downloading has stopped, the only way I can find to start again (since the file claims to be downloaded) is to delete the file, unsubscribe from the feed, re-subscribe, then start downloading again. Just deleting the file doesn't seem to cut it: updating the podcast doesn't re-list the missing episode.
Also, it would be nice if iTunes would automatically re-start the download when the network connection is re-established.
Just my 2 cents.

  • Fash Player Plug-in 11.7.700.202 download will not complete.

When I updated to Firefox 21.0, I found that Flash Player Plug-in 11.7.700.202 was not working. Videos would not play. Had no problem before the Firefox upgrade. I downloaded a new copy of the player but the download would not complete. A error message (only a single instance of this application can run) appeared. I used Adobe Flash Player's uninstall to delete all Flash files. Then I tried downloading Flash 11.7.700.202 again. Same error message appeared and would not finish the download. Chrome videos work with no problem. Is there a hidden Flash file somewhere that's conflicting? Is this a Mozilla bug? I looked at all the support topics and didn't find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems you mean "installing" instead of "downloading". Downloading means saving a file from a web page to your computer. Installing means launching the setup file and completing the steps described on-screen. If downloading fails, then there's no point in trying to install the application, because the setup file is unusable.
That particular error message means you have two Flash Player installers running simultaneously. According to the Adobe knowledgebase, simply clicking the OK button closes one of them and allows the installation to continue.

  • Cannot update iTunes in Windows 7 - download will not complete.

When my software updater alerts me that itunes needs to be updated and I try to download the latest version, I keep running into problems with the download. This happens regardless of internet connection speed, other programs running, etc. The download simply stops halfway through and eventually I get an error message saying the download wasn't completed. I've tried going through both iTunes ("check for updates) and my windows software updater. Suggestions??

    perfect, thanks.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Itunes store download will not complete!

I bought The Amazing Spiderman movie from the store but the download won't complete - it's about 90% done, and shows as "processing" in the itunes app on my 4s. I've been able to download it to my MB pro, but I can't seem to clear it from my phone. I've tried syncing, but this makes no difference. It's been sat there "processing" for about a week now.
    Help!

How old are the purchases, and if they are old purchases that used to play ok then have you amended the tracks end times (e.g. by selecting/highlighting them in your library and doing control-I  on them) so that they don't play all the way through ?
If the music is still in your country's store then you should be able to delete those tracks from your iTunes library and redownload them by  clicking on your account name at the top right of the iTunes screen and clicking ‘Purchased’ on the popup.

  • My Ipod 4th gen. will not update. Download will not complete. Help!

In the past i have had no problems updating my ipod touch 4th gen but recently i cannot update it. I will click update and the loading bar will load all the way, then it will say that it is processing the file. It will say this for a minute or 2 and then give me an error code: 3259 telling me to check my network connection (which works perfect) or try again later. I have tryed reseting my ipod, i cannot restore my ipod because it wants to update it and then restore it. I have not been able to update for over a month and i have missed 2 updates due to this problem. What do i do?

How much it costs depends on who you have replace the battery whether that be Apple or a 3rd party repair company.  Here are Apple's prices.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/
It would likely be much cheaper to have a 3rd party company do it instead.  One company I have heard a lot of good things about is iResq.  For others, do a simple Google search for "iPod battery repair" and you should get a plethora of results.

I don't believe Radio Shack does offer that service.  Sorry.

  • Downloads will not complete

I purchased the new Daft Punk album and now only three songs are downloding at the same time adn it's not finishing them or anything they just keep saying processing file

    Hello CaptainRick,
I would recommend a couple of things in this situation. First if you havnet already, quit and restart the application and/or computer.
If that doesn't quite cut the mustard, then try deleting them and re downloading them using this article, Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519.

  • Firefox download will not complete update

when I click on any new version of firefox to download it takes forever (Ive checked days later and it's still downloading) and it never completes the download. Therefore I have refused to update to latest version for fear its never going to end.

If there are problems with updating or with the permissions then best is to download the full version and trash the currently installed version to do a clean install of the new version.
Download a new copy of the Firefox application and save the disk image file to the desktop
    *Firefox 24.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
*Trash the current Firefox application (open the Applications folder in the Finder and drag the Firefox application to the Trash) to do a clean (re-)install
*Install the new version that you have downloaded
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Installing+Firefox+on+Mac
Your personal data is stored elsewhere in the Firefox profile folder, so you won't lose your bookmarks and other personal data when you uninstall and (re)install Firefox.

  • Download will not complete for CC Illustrator on my Mac

I bought a new Macbook Pro (yesterday) and I cannot download the CC App for my recent subscription of Illustrator.  I am not getting an error message, only a infinite timing clock pending a download with a half frozen screen.

checked my xfinity internet speed test and I'm clearing 23 Mbps, so it doesn't appear to be a connectivity issue

  • Mail download will not complete - 0 kbps

Here is the situation. We have 3 gmail accounts. Until about a week ago, we have happily downloaded mail from those gmail accounts into our mail application on our macbook. Recently, it has downloaded some of those emails (say, 18 of 80), but in the middle of retrieving the emails, the download rate goes to 0 kbps. The progress bar stays up, but stops progressing, the little download wheel keeps spinning, but it won't ever finish. Ever. We left it on overnight one time. Nothing.
I have tried deleting emails off of gmail's server. I have tried removing the accounts in the preferences and re-adding them. I have tried removing the plist file from the library folder. Nothing seems to work. I have seen other threads from people who have experienced similar issues, but there seems to be no real answer. Does anyone have a clue about how to fix this? I would just start using gmail straight from the web, but my wife hates gmail's format and wants her emails in mac mail.

    Try this:
Click on one of your mailboxes (Inboxes), then in Mail's menu, go to Mailbox and click on Rebuild. Do this for each mailbox.

  • An app will not completely download from the App Store to my iPhone 5S. Neither can I terminate the download by trying to delete it. The app is useless to me and so I would like to remove the icon from my home screen. How can I do this?

I tried to download the app "Google Translate" from the App Store onto my iPhone 5s. However, the download will not complete. As well, when I try to delete the icon from my home screen, it will not go away.  I am very frustrated as this has never happened before and I have gotten many paid and free apps from the App Store. I hope someone can solve my dilemma.  Thank you kindly.

What have you tried to get the app to finish downloading e.g. have you tried logging out and back into your account on your phone, disconnecting and reconnecting to your network, soft-reset of your phone (press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, ignore the red slider, after which the Apple logo should appear and it should reboot) ?
You could also try downloading the update on your computer's iTunes and see if you can sync it over to your phone (or delete the app its Apps tab when connected to your computer's iTunes and sync the new version - deleting the app will delete its contents).
