Interupted sound when opening programs

Hi,
I'm having problems when opening other programs as the sound quality then becomes fragmented and stuttering.
This can normally be rectified by pausing and restarting the song, but this is proving very tiresome. Is there a way of preventing this happening.
Its more or less like i can listen to my music as long as i don't try and do anything else.
Any ideas?? I've tried changing quicktime settings and downloaded the latest directX but has no effect.

This sounds like a problem with your system. You may want to check for any updates to your PC from the microsoft web site like windows update and also the company that made your PC. If you have added a sound card after buying your PC chech there site for driver/software updates.
If its a older PC you may want to think about buying more memory (RAM) for it

Click sound when opening/closing cover

I've had the ipad 2 and Apple cover for 2 months. When I first got it, there was a click sound when opening or closing the cover. There is no sound anymore when opening/closing. Did I change a setting somehow which caused this?

On the new iPad, the switch next to the volume rocker has two functions, depending on how you have it set in 'Settings.' There's a section in General called Use Side Switch to:. You can either use it to Lock Rotation or Mute. When it is set to Lock Rotation and the switch is pushed to the left, yes, the rotation is locked, but when it is set to Mute, and the switch is pushed to the left, all sounds are muted, including the sound for when closing the cover.

Why system alarm sound when opening an app on my MBP 13"?

Recently started to hear system alarm sound when opening an app., eg. Mail, Safari (usually from the Dock). No apparent operational problem, but quite annoying, especially since I don't know why. Happens on my 13" MBP, but not on my iMac, both running ML 10.7.4.
Repair Disk Permissions and Verify Disk both OK.
Any clues from anyone??

Disable: Play user interface sound effects in System Preferences > Sound > Sound Effects
If that doesn't make a diffeence, check your Dashboard widgets.

Sol 1. Please try sign out from Creative cloud Desktop App and quit it.
1. Launch Creative Cloud application manager.
2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Preferences.
3. In the Preferences menu, under General, click the Account tab.
4. Click Sign Out from Creative Cloud.
Then re-sign in and launch Photoshop CC 2014 and check.
Sol 2. Check your Hosts file.
Windows
1. Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
2. Locate Hosts file and move it to Desktop
3. Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
4. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
5. Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
6. Save and close the file and move it back to Etc folder.
Mac OS
1. Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
2. In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
3. Type /etc.
4. Select the hosts file and move it on Desktop open it.
5. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
6. Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
7. Move Hosts file back to etc folder
8. Save and close the file.
Then try launching Photoshop CC 2014 or Illustrator CC 2014
If prompt for License this software, please click on it and sign in with the Adobe ID and Password which you have used to purchase the subscription and check if you can activate and use the products.

MacBook makes new whoosh sound when opening

MacBook makes a new sound when I open the cover..... Like a woosh, which it never used to do before. Is there any way to turn off?

MacBook Pro 13 - Clicking Sound When Opening

I have a MBP 13 that runs perfectly. However recently I noticed a "clicking" sound when I open the display. The noise (a single click) appears to come from the upper right hand side of the screen. Any ideas on whether I should get this checked out?

Light clicking sound when opening display ?

HI everyone,
My Macbook Air make a cliking sound when i open up the display, when I hit the fully extended position (this happen even if I open the laptop very slowly). I had the display changed TWICE because of this issue and it just came back on the third display. Does every other MacBook Air out there does this sound ? I went to the Apple Store and one of the two Air on expo did it.

My MBA is silent on opening, MtlChris, so not all.
I think though that going through multiple repairs on the same laptop a frustrating process. I'd just persevere with Apple service until your issue resolved.

No sound when using programs

My curve does not make any sounds when i'm using VZ Nav or when i'm using AIM. it rings for phone calls and text and BB messenger. It won;t even make a sound in vz nav when i press the talk button. any ideas??

Backup your Blackberry and Wipe Handheld and test again before restoring from the backup. If its still failing, you may need to upgrade or reload the current o/s.

How can I remove annoying click sound when opening new tab?

I've already goggled this and it said something about no-script (which I'm not running) and nothing else that sounded remotely close to my issue. Basically anytime I open a new tab (which I do tons of) I get the most obnoxious loud click type sound and it drives me up the walls. I can simply mute the whole browser but then many media players and the like play the audio directly through the browser instead of adobe flash or the like. I just learned it also plays the most annoying sound in the world when I use the spellcheck feature...
Any help on removing this terrible sound file from Firefox would be greatly appreciated... I would hate to have to start using chrome just to get away from this sound.
The only add-ons I use are Adblock Plus 2.6.3, Advanced SystemCare Surfing Protection 1.0 (I assume it installed itself with the actual ASC program), and Leechblock 0.6.6.
All my plugins are off by default unless I manually turn them on the add-on manager window when I start up firefox and the sound plays before I ever activate them.

Did this start when you installed Firefox 30, in other words, Firefox 29 and earlier was fine?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
Any difference?

Macbook Retina Display - Creaks when opening programs

My macbook retina display creaks randomly only when programs open.
For example, when diablo opens, it makes a creaking sound just underneath the keyboard.
When a youtube video starts playing, it creaks.
When i open chrome or safari, it creaks.
It only creaks at the beginning when programs starts running.
Wierd.
anyone having this problem too?

I imagine it is not an expected issue, as my 2010 MBP worked just fine. Also, were the issue expected I would hope that it would be compensated for. I am typing this response on the Retina MBP and there is definitely lag or letters disappearing all togther. I am also typing this to get the screen shots of the activity monitor.

Also, when posting the pictures here in this message, the images seemed askew until I scrolled the screen a little. It would seem to me a video card issue but I am not a Mac genius so I am just guessing. I am using the default "best for retina" resolution setting.

Airplane sound when opening new tab.

When I open a new tab it sounds like an airplane flying overhead. I already tried the safe mode thing and it does not occur in safe mode I am already on the default.

Your profile information is stored in a separate location from the Firefox installation so that if something is wrong with the Firefox install, you won't lose your information like bookmarks and such.

HP dv7-6c95dx clicking sound when 2 programs are running

This is driving me nuts, and I can't find the solution.
on my HP dv7-6c95dx when I run ANY type of program that is using sound it plays fine.
As soon as I start another program, my music is getting ticking sounds.
how do I fix that ?
I can't listen to music while I am surfing the net, or download a file etc.

2 1/2 months later.... still the same problem...
I think I know where it's coming from..
when I have video playing, it's fine..
as soon as I start using the internet, or using my news reader, the clicking noise is back.
When I play a music file instead of video.. I can hear the sound as well, BUT also it's going fast, slow etc.
it's not staying at a constant speed..
Almost seems like a processor problem?
Other than that.. still the same... no help from HP support.. e-mailed them several times, and no answer back, besides some auto reply..
I can't return the laptop anymore, since it's > 30 days... so I am screwed with a crappy sound laptop..

Nokia 3600 slide does not sound when opened or clo...

I have just brought a nokia 3600 slide .. I have selected the plum theme and selected the slide animation on ..but unfortuantely i do not get any slide sound .. i only get the animation when i open and close the phone ..do i have to use another theme .. can i use any sound for the opening and closing of the slide phone .. where do i get slide sounds from or animations .. plz help its driving me round the wall

as pointed out there is some themes avalable that do give a tone but these are specially built themes a had one myself on the 5610/6500 slide i got them from zedge maybe your phone is not equipped for the theme in question
the slide animation is just a picture that comes up when you open and close the slide

DV8T Fan grinding sound when opening lid or returning from sleep mode

I don't know if this is a normal thing, but not always, Id say 50% of the time when the computer wakes or I open the lid there is a breif grinding sound coming from the top left area of the body of the notebook. I am pretty sure it is the fan and im wondering if this is going to eventually lead to a ballance issure with the fan causing it to fail and ultimatly kill the CPU.

I'm having a similar problem that I may have cracked. My screen is on but the backlight is off (so the image is practically 100% on resume from hibernate. Have you reset the pram and cleared the smc?
