Intervals with planning functions

Hi all,
I'm trying to define an interval for the execution of a standard function, for example the copy function,
variable income through user's manual. I'm using integrated planning (IP).
My problem is that I can not define variables ranges in the modeler, it only allows me to define for unique values, therefore, I defined two variables "from / to" to make the range, but the system only takes the first and the last values, without filling an interval, for example using the characteristic posting period (0FISCPER3).
How can I emulate this?

I solved my question on my own.
I'm working with IP, and I'm using the copy standar function and I need to work with a range of values, but in IP it's no posible to specify that as an interval, it's only posible through various individuals values.

I have a problem in WAD 2004s with planning function. I created a web template that includes a query. It runs on the enterprise portal, and I can edit this query. The problem is: I don't know how to save this edited query, because when I use the button with function save, the new value doesn't appear in the relevant info cube.
Anybody can help me how to save the new values to the info cube?

I don't know if you ever resolved this, but you may just ned to change a setting on your query properties. When data is entered into planning layouts and saved, that data is put into a "yellow" request in the underlying infocube.
Until the necessary volume of data is posted which causes this to change to "green", it remains yellow. Note that this request could also be changed to green several ways. i.e. manually, by flipping the "real-time infocube behavior" switch, etc.
Anyway, as long as it "yellow" your query, by default will not consider it, unless you change it's properties to tell it to consider "yellow" requests. This can be done via RSRT and pressing the "properties" button. Choose request status "2" and your problem should be solved

Problems with planning function in sneak preview J2EE

Hi all,
I have a 2 systems environment with sneak preview J2EE and ABAP on my notebook. I configured SLD, JCo and in the 2004s with ta SPRO the planning function.
I can connect with ta RSPLAN to the J2EE server, but I get the error message:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: no jcoMetadata found for RFC function 'RSPLSDOKU_LINK_GET'! Please verify, that your model is consistent with the ABAP backend: 'NSP'.
The testing of the JCo connections is positiv, i.e. there is a connection between the J2EE and the ABAP system already defined. Is tehre anything missing?

Update DSO with planning function independently from saving data in realtim

Dear all,
I have an realtime cube which will be loaded via planning function and/or data entry queries.
In order to track the entries, I store all companies with status in a DSO objects, by using a planning fuction which calls a function module and inserts entries in the DSO table. The planning function will be start by clicking a button in a web application.
For example: A company enters data. The value will be stored in the realtime cube and the DSO entry will be created with company xyz and status 1.
Sometime it is necessary to create a status entry in the DSO without entering data in the realtime cube. ( In order to provide an other department to enter data in during status 1).
In this case the planning function which calls the function module in order to insert entries in DSO is not working because there is no data exchange with the realtime cube.
How can I change DSO entries independently from writing data in a realtime cube or not.
Any help would be great.

i have one planning function which copies data from one version to another within the cube and another planning function (type fox) which calls up an ABAP function module in order to update my status DSO. see below:
DATA FISCYEAR TYPE 0FISCYEAR.

FISCYEAR = OBJV( ).
COMPANY = OBJV( ).
CALL FUNCTION Z_FM_SEND_FOR_APP_PLAN_C01

I_FISCYEAR = FISCYEAR.
normal way:
User enters data via query and sends data to headquarters (1. planning functions copy from version 1 to 2 and second planning functions changes status in DSO from 1 to 2.) This works.
not normal way, but somethis necessary:
User does not malke any entries, and headquarters wants to change the status via an own web application. In this case the first planning function runs, but no data were copied because there are no entries. So far thats ok, but at least the second pölanning function should run and change the status in the DSO from 1 to 2. And exacltly this is not working. I suppose that the reason is, that there are no data in the cube.
Any ideas would be great.

Integrated Planning: Planning Functions in the Web - Issues with Binding

Hi
We are on SPS 11 and are having some difficulties getting our Planning Functions to execute corerctly in the web templates.
I have created a simple planning function that performs a distribution.
The Planning Function works as expected using the plannning wizard and ristricts the data based on the Filter that I have created on the Aggregation Level as well as the Planning Function Selections.
I have created a query and web template that contains the same restriction as the filter in my aggregation level. The Agg Level filter / planning function and Query Filter all contain the Hierarchy Node Variable ZN_CC1 for the standard Cost Center Hierarchy.
I have created the following 4 Planning Buttons to test the execution of the Planning Function in the Web:
1. Planning Function Simple. Binding ref to the DP_1 (Query), Variable = Hierarchy Variable ZN_CC1, Planning Function ZDistrib1.
2. Planning Function Simple. Binding ref to the DP_1 (Query), Variable = Variable Input String Default ZN_CC1, Planning Function ZDistrib1.
3. Planning Function Simple. Binding ref to the DP_1 (Query), Variable = Hierarchy Variable ZN_CC1, Planning Function ZDistrib1. Display variable property selected.
4. Planning Function Simple. Binding ref to the DP_1 (Query), Cost Center Characteristic Data Provider Selection Default, Planning Function ZDistrib1.
When the query is executed and a node representing a group in the hierarchy is selected the query is executed and is input ready for the selected group. This is a subset of the hierarchy.
When the above planning fucntions are executed the following results display.
1. The planning function is executed however it is not restricted to the selection based on the hierarhcy variable node selected by the user. The planning function is executed for the entrire hierarchy. It is not restricted by the cost center hierarchy node variable value.
2. The planning function is executed however it is not restricted to the selection based on the hierarhcy variable node selected by the user. The planning function is executed for the entrire hierarchy. It is not restricted by the cost center hierarchy node variable value.
3. The variable popup displays and a hierarchy node is selected. The planning function is executed however it is not restricted to the selection based on the hierarhcy variable node selected by the user. The planning function is executed for the entrire hierarchy. It is not restricted by the cost center hierarchy node variable value, that was entered when prompted.
4. The planning function is executed however it is not restricted to the cost center selection based on the query DP1. The planning function is not restricted by the cost center selections.
HOWEVER,
If I goto to the filter web item and edit the cost center filter by selecting and adding all available cost centers to the filter. (This list of cost centers is restricted to the cost centers subordinate to the hierarhcy node selected in the variable)
When the above the planning functions are executed the function is now restricted to the cost centers added to the filter as explained above.
If anyone has had a similar issue with Planning Functions executing for data outside of the Dataprovider Selections I would be interested to know how you managed to get the planning function to retrict to the DP Selections that include hierarchy node variables.
If anyone from SAP can comment before I raise this as an OSS issue it would be much appreciated.

Error while executing planning function with reference data

Hi,
I have a two planning functions one is used to upload the file (with out reference data checkbox in planning function RSPLF1) and other planning function ('Referece data'check box is selected in custom planning function RSPLF1) to execute the logic of creating new record along with the flat file data.
Following data is uplooaded
Company code | Profit_ctr | calmonth | Amount
1000                 | 50000      | 01.2011 | 150
Cube data
Field1    | Company code | Profit_ctr | calmonth | Amount
         | 1000                 | 50000      | 01.2011 | 150
Z1         | 1000                 | 50000      | 01.2011 | 150
Now I want to change the value from 150 to 200 and when I try to execute with the following data, it is giving dump 'a row with the same key already exists'.
Company code | Profit_ctr | calmonth | Amount
1000             | 50000          | 01.2011 | 200
Ideally in the second execution it should append the new row with Amount value 50 to cube which is the delta value.
I debugged the issue and found that I_TH_REF_DATA has following data and C_TH_DATA also contains the same records.
Field1     Company code | Profit_ctr | calmonth | Amount
#     1000                 | 50000      | 01.2011 | 150
Z1     1000                 | 50000      | 01.2011 | -150
Z1     1000                 | 50000      | 01.2011 | 150
Due to this, record which already exists in C_TH_DATA and trying to append new record with the same combination is failing.
C_TH_DATA should only contain the source data of Amount 200, but not sure why reference data is coming in C_TH_DATA.
Could anyone please guide me on how the reference data is getting populated in C_TH_DATA ?

C_TH_DATA is hashed table! According to your post you are trying to append to C_TH_DATA and this results in a dump. Please take a look at the standard planning function to see how SAP is programming the planning functions. E.g. in CL_RSPLFC_REPOST method IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_IMP_EXEC~EXECUTE you can find the following code:
CREATE DATA l_r_data_wa LIKE LINE OF c_th_data.
ASSIGN l_r_data_wa->* TO <s_data_wa>.
CREATE DATA l_r_new_wa LIKE LINE OF c_th_data.
ASSIGN l_r_new_wa->* TO <s_new_wa>.
LOOP AT c_th_data INTO <s_data_wa>.
<s_new_wa> = <s_data_wa>.
now the SAP code changes the values, you can do it your way here
and than write the changes back
        MODIFY TABLE c_th_data FROM <s_data_wa>.
ENDLOOP:
Another option is to use the READ statement to check if the record is already in the table. If not, you can use MODIFY otherwise you use INSERT. So you get something like this:
READ C_TH_DATA from <s_data_wa> transporting no fields.
if not sy-subrc EQ 0.
INSERT <s_data_wa> into table C_TH_DATA.
else.
MODIFY TABLE c_th_data FROM <s_data_wa>.
endif.
Depending on your requirements you can also use the collect statement.
If c_th_data shows the reference data as well, you may need to adjust the filter to restrict it to the correct values.

Planning function ended with errors

Hi Folks,
Issue: While Executing The Planning Sequnce it is througing me Planning Function Ended with Errors.
I have one existing Planning Sequence which contain the Filter and Planning Copy Function. And also Variable input ( two variables 1 is Profict Center and 2nd one is Fiscal Year)
First i was tried to execute the Planning Sequece it througing me error message saying as in below:-
Values entered are invalid; check these values again
Variables contain invalid values.
Specify a value for variable Fiscal Year (Single Value Entry, Required)
You have to enter variables before you execute
Then i have entered Fiscal year value in the Planning Sequece>Variable Input>select the Fiscal Year Variable>Input help>selected the 2008-->ok. Now then Fiscal year variable is showing 2008.
And then i was executed once again here Planning Sequnce it is througing me Planning Function Ended with Errors.
Here is cross checked Filter area associated Variables( two variables 1 is Profict Center and 2nd one is Fiscal Year).
1.Profit Center Variable: Containing the default value is 1000
2.Fiscal Year Variable : Does not maintained any default values.

Please execute the planning function with Execution with Trace option.
Verify the planning function particularly from Values.
Also some simple tricks:
1. Try with some other values.eg. FisYear 2007. ( Check in database)
2. Save the variant in variable input panel & then execute.

Execution of a planning function with the used dimension values in a crosstab

would like to execute planning functions within Design Studio but I don't really know how I combine this execution with the used dimension values in a crosstab for the .
Here the requirement:
3 Planning functions which should use the same filter (all values of all dimensions in the crosstab) and which should run one after another:
// open data slice
PF_1.execute();
// generate combinitions
PF_2.execute();
// close data slice
PF_3.execute();

Hi Arun,
in general it is not possible to nest planning functions. The inner function would update the data in the plan buffer without the outer function knowing about it. Also the inner function might be on a different aggregation level which would make things very tricky.
Alternatively you can include ABAP logic into a FOX formula:

Or just create the complete logic in one ABAP planning function type.

Planning function: distribution with keys and whole numbered results

Hello,
using the planning function type "distribution" with keys yearly values shall be distributed to monthly values. However, the resulting values shall be whole-numbered - e.g. the planned sales of 10 machines per year shall be distributed to monthly values. The result shall not be 12 times 0.833 but 10 times one and two times 0. Is there a "smart" way to do this?
Presently I can think only of an approach using a fox formula where the result values are calculated using functions like "trunc" and "frac".

Once you get the distribution resuklts, apply FOX to trim the decimals and put both the functions in a sequence.

Error with authorisation in planning function, URGENT!

Hello,
the following error occurs in our BPS Q system:
we have an authorisation variable for different BPS functions (projection and medium-term planning), which has to guarantee that all authorised sales types will be displayed and not only these restricted in the planning folder.
This variable doesn't work correct only in ta. BPS0, i.e. it draws all sales types and not only the authorised.
It also displays an error with message no. UPC302: "Errors occurred when executing planning function ZIPF079/ZIPG079" and when executing the autorisation check log in ta. RSSM it is noticeable that program UPB_PM_START is used instead of UPB_PM_CUST_START.
Any ideas about the reason for this error?

How to link the variable entry with the planning function execution

Hi All,
I am new to IP , we have a requirement where the user enters the value 2008 for a variable year. Then we are supposed to copy the same combinations for the next four years against which the user will be able to input the key figure values. But i have only 2008 data in the cube, so i need to generate new records for the same characteristic combinations as present for 2008 for the next four years. I am planning to use a copy function for this but how can i trigger this planning function once the user enters the value for the year variable. I want the planning function to get executed once the user clicks OK after the variable entry. Request your valuable inputs on the same.

for this u have an option of executing the planning sequence when the web template loads ie. after the variable screen.
open the WAD.
go to the properties of Web Template web item. Under the section standard action of the webtemplate, we have a n option to include planning functions under action before rendering.
If u include your planning sequence in this this will get executed every time the layout loads.
guess this is usefull to u.

Diplay Message with ABAP Planning Function (same message several times)

Hello experts,
I use a ABAP Planning Function (custom developed funtion type) to vaildate the planning data.
I want to display the validation results in a message box in the workbook. Therefor I use the Parameter I_R_MSG of the "Execute" Method.
This works fine, BUT
I want to display the same message several times.
Example (I want an output in the message box like this):
AREA1
Error Message A
AREA 2
Error Message A
Error Message B
The system merge the identical messages. And the output is this:
AREA 1
Error Message A
AREA 2
Error Message B
Can I avoid the automatical merge of identical messages in the monitor?

I think the only way is to use a field for (e.g. MSGV4) to group the messages since the system compares
all fields msgty, ..., msgv4 to identify duplicates. So if your messages do not use msgv4 the above suggestion
should work.

Workbook not refresh after running Planning Function (BI-IP)

I have a problem with the Bex Analyser which not refresh the data after running Planning Function.
Step 1: Run Planning Function (There are some changes in records)
Step 2: I have to Run Process Variables again and input the same selection in the pop-up variables
Step 3: The changed records will be shown...
Can I have some coding in the Layouts of Bex Analyzer to refresh the data after running Planning Function?

Hi,
I had a similar problem that the resuls of my planning function were not automatically shown. Only if I did "something else" like saving or running another function the results were displayed.
I think I solved it by upgrading my SAP GUI6.4 with patch 14. the results of planning functions should be automatically displayed.

BI IP - Planning Function Type Formula Error "Characteristic not Supported"

I have created a planning function type formula with very simple code. The code was copied from SAP Library and FISCPER was replaced with 0CALDAY. I continue to get an error 'Characteristic 0CALDAY is not supported".
The characteristic 0CALDAY is in the Infoprovider and the aggregation level. I have tried 'To Characteristic Usage' with both changed and in condition.

BI-IP: Change of characteristic value in ABAP EXIT planning function

Hi
I have created a planning function of the type EXIT with reference data without blocks. In method IF_RSPLFA_SRVTYPE_IMP_EXEC_REF~EXECUTE I am going to implement my code.
Now, one of the purposes is to update the VALIDTO of an existing record. Is it possible to modify the characteristic values directly in C_TH_DATA (thus allowing me to just update the date directly on the record) or can I only append records?

Yes you can change directly your value in a record withou appending a new one,but still it will create 2 records in the delta buffer ready to be save to the cube.
