Interview with a software engineer
Hello
My name is Shawn, I am a high school student in junior year and we are doing a project where reach out to a individual who's profession is the field of work that we are most interested in. I myself am very interested in software engineering and would hope
someone wouldn't mind if I were to ask them a couple of questions about their job as a software engineer. I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thank you
Jason Baker, known in the community asjbakervt, works as a help desk and systems administratorat the Burlington Electrical Department (BED) in Burlington, VT. On the side, Jason maintains his own IT consulting firm, has a family, and manages to make the most of Vermont (proof: when I called, he told me he had been up in the mountains over the weekend).
When we found out thatJason, the SpiceHead who's in charge of theVermont SpiceCorps, worked for a power distributioncompany, we had to learn more. How many surge protectors does he use? If the systems go down, does the power go down? How do you update the power grid? Does he have any Internet of Things smart sensors lying around? And what does IT's energy bill look like when you're the ones in charge of the power?For a full audio recording and podcast of our interview with Jason, see...

We've are looking for a staff software engineer to join our company in Boston, MA (near downtown). We have a 3000+ vi application that has been in continuous development by multiple software engineers (currently 4 engineers + 1 intern) for 15 years. Every year we release a new version of the software with significant new features. An engineer with our company needs to be more than just a LabVIEW hacker. We need a software engineering that can go into our large application, modify it, sometimes in very fundamental ways, without breaking existing functionality, and have an eye for how their changes impact the maintainability, scalability, reliability, and readability of our code.
Candidates will likely be LabVIEW Architects or have equivalent experience if they don't have formal certification. We lean towards candidates who have Masters Degrees in such fields as Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Computer Science. Interviews will be conducted over phone, web, and in person by a LabVIEW Architect and will need to be able to discuss topics such as the following:
- coupling and cohesion in software design, how this relates to design paterns such as action engines
- software lifecycle models- state machines, parallel loop architectures, race conditions, data structures, type definitions, Xcontrols,
- Object Oriented design
- importance of documentation, importance and use of source code control
- pseudo code and its usefulness as a design tool, some exercises will require users to read and write pseudo code to solve classic computer science problems
- tradeoffs of various file formats in terms of flexibility for future software changes
- FFT, Frequency Response, Amplitude/phase, RMS level, dB, noise, averaging, distortion, loudness, A-weighting
Formal job ad is below:

Interview question for support engineer
interview question for support engineer ....please can i get this sir..need to interview for apple as support engineer...thank you
Hi Fritz,
Let us address the problem one by one.
1. You might need to change the source structure to :
-root 1..1
--Value 1..unbounded
Please note root and Value are the names given by me you can use any names as per your wish. But we cannot have the source as you specified, will this source be ok for you?
2. Give File content conversion parameter
recordset name = Vale
Value.endSeparator 'nl'
By doing this there will be a Value node created when the source file has a newline character
3. In message mapping create two UDF
*UDF1 (Simple ?UDF with input field named *input )
for (int i=0;i<input.length;i++)
output += input<i>;
return output
*UDF2 (Simple UDF with input field named input)*
int i = 1;
String [] value = new String[112];
while (input.indexOf(";") != -1)
String counter = "";
Integer i_int = new Integer (i);
if (i<10)
counter = "00"+ i_int.toString();
else if (i>9 && i<100)
counter = "0"+ i_int.toString();
else counter = i_int.toString();
if (input.startsWith(counter)) {
value<i> = input.substring(3, input.indexOf(";"));
if (input.indexOf(";") != -1 )
input = input.substring(input.indexOf(";")+1);
else
value <i> = "";
i++;
int j;
GlobalContainer globalContainer = container.getGlobalContainer();
globalContainer.setParameter("Output", value);
Now do a mapping like this
Value (context root)--> UDF1 > UDF2> target root node (ie Bewsatz)
By this step you set all the values in global container named Output
3. Now for each target field call this UDF
*UDF3 (Simple UDF with input field named pos)*
GlobalContainer globalContainer = container.getGlobalContainer();
String[] Value = (String[] )globalContainer.getParameter("Output");;
String outvalue;
if (Value != null) {
outvalue = Value(pos) ;
return outvalue;
Call this UDF for each output field with positions like 1, 2, 3, ...111
Please try this

Tutorial: Azure Active Directory integration with Igloo Software
Markus Vilcinskas, Knowledge Engineer, Microsoft CorporationHello
Can you be little clear, what you have tested with Airwatch MDM cloud?.. which scenarios?..
1) Device Enrollment ?
2) Access to Airwatch console?
3) Access to Airwatch self service portal?
By following the steps We do not get it working at all. by the way some of the steps in this tutorial are unclear and outdated;
I finally personally figured out how things should look like, and make it work but only with Device Enrollment scenarios from the mobile devices itself. not from the pc and browsers or from the Access panel. -
Skype recording with NO software
Thank you for taking the time to read this - I appreciate it
I have to record interviews with Skype interviews and I am looking for a NO Software solution
I have a Zoom H6 recorder and microphone
I can connect Skype so I can hear the other party, but Skype won't recognise the Zoom H6 as a microphone and the other party can not hear meIn control panel > sound, what is the Zoom H6 recognized as, if at all (under recording)?
As for the no software (you have to use software whether you like it or not as your entire OS and Skype is software ), I'd humbly suggest the good old speaker + cell phone combo
As for the H6, only drivers I could find was:
http://www.zoom.co.jp/products/h6/software/
Which isn't what you are looking for I'm guessing.
If you can bridge the H6 as in line out H6 > mic in MB, that should probably work, not sure if it's possible though. -

Interview with David Vincenzetti, CEO of Hacking Team
Interview with Business InsiderNot as much in depth as I'd hoped it would be, but worth a look. I like how he skirts the question on if they disclose zero-day info to the vendors. "BI: As I understand it, finding hackable software flawsis core to your business, do you ever disclose any of the security vulnerabilities you find to vendors?DV: Zero day vulnerabilities are not core to Hacking Team’s business. The core is providing a system to law enforcement that allows surveillance in the digital space.Essential to that is a process of continuous updates to the software to assure that it can be operated securely. Zero day exploits are only one way in which clients may choose to deploy Hacking Team software."

Hey everyone
I was wondering if I could do an ichat interview with garageband if the other person is on a PC?

BevanWindows is an operating system, not a software program. And iChat isn't available for Windows, that's why I asked.
If the other person is using the AOL instant messenger, you can do video and audio chats with them through your iChat and record it to GB. If you are using other software to chat, like Skype, you can only indirectly get it to GB (record it with other software first, then import it.) -
