Dear All,
In Mass User ID creation SU10 , after creating the user id ,how to know the intial password for the user id. Kindly help on this issues.

1. how to reduce the intial password size & alpha numeric char. (any parameter is present )
2. suppose if i create a 10 users , wether its possible to get a log of 10 users in a single log .(without seeing each & every users)

Intial password reset

Hello All,
A new user is created with a intial password, Once the user logs on to the system through SAP logon , it will request for the User to reset the intial password, the scenario is the User does not have access through SAP logon , but has access to run the web reports , so once he runs the web report the user gives the user name and intial password , now is it poosaible to get the pop-up for the password reset though web and not through SAP Logon pad login.
That is when he runs the web report it should pop-up for intial password reset and not through normal login, is this possible?

Thanks for your inputs,If portal is not used and if the user runs any report using bex browser , will the reset password work, when we run the report through bex , change password option is there , but when we run through bex browser or WAD the option is not there.

I have a small prob generating the passwords for the MASS users creation in Su10.How could we generate the same password for all the users in the Mass creation.Is there any process to set the default passowrds for ll users.

If we create users in su10, how to know the passwords generated automatically? Can some one tell me.

I believe they are in the result list which appears after saving. What did you try so far?
Just checked, they are indeed in the result list or 'log display'.

How to Disable auto generation of passwords in SU10 ?

Hello,
When i create mass users at once in Transaction SU10, the system generates 40-character length passwords, which is quite annoying & difficult for the users.
Is there any option to temporarily disable this, so that we can specify our own password instead ?

Hi Chaitanya,
You cannot create users without specifying initial passwords; be it through SU01 or SU10. Also the problem in case of SU10 is that there is no option for supplying password unlike in the case of SU01. So there is no way you can disable password generation and still expect users to be created. the only solution to this is that you reset the password for every user through SU01 before informing them that their user id has been created.You may in this case use a single default initial password.

Change root MSE password and password requirment

Hi All, new to the MSE world during the install of my new MSE virtual 7.0 it asks to change the root password...however the password requirement would not let me change the password and thus fell back to the default. How can I change the root password and change the password requirement.
My intial password was 15 characters long, I had 2 upper case letters, 5 lower case letters, 5 numbers, and 3 other characters
Not sure how much more I need to have the root password secure but, it was....
Any suggestions or do I just need to make the root password double what I as making it.

Doesn't it allow you to skip (step 17 in below) & go on to configure login & password related parameters (step 18) change those restrictions ?

Setting Productive password in IDM

I would like to set productive passsword using IDM. According to "Note 1287410 - BAPI_USER_CHANGE: Set productive password" this is now possible.
How do I set the PRODUCTIVE_PWD flag in the ToSAP pass. What is the ABAP connector attribute. Just putting productive_pwd does not work.
Any help is much apprecited.

Guess you could set an initial password as you do it, as a first step. Then afterwards you call SUSR_USER_CHANGE_PASSWORD_RFC.
Procedure to set a productive password for a user:
1) Call BAPI_USER_CHANGE (set an "intermidiate" and intial password)
2) Call SUSR_USER_CHANGE_PASSWORD_RFC (set your real new password, old password = intermediate from the call before)
I think, we've tried that successfully in the past....

Create new user id in SU01 transaction
Assign the required roles in Authorization Tab
Assign initial password in perosnel details tab in same transaction
This user when logged in will use the intial password
Syatem will prompt him for changing the password
And he can access the system
Better to copy the similar kind of user in SU01 so no need to do all these activities

SU10 Password Reset option

Hi,
I see the password reset icon in SU10 next to the lock/unlock icons. Even the option is listed in the User menu as Change password (Shift +F8). Is this included as a new feature with any note?

It was introduced a few months back ( see https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1469961 ) as of release 7.00.
I am not a fan of it, as changing users all to the same password is a risk.
However the BAPIs have the same capability and for deactivating passwords it is also useful, so you only need to be careful and consider the consequences of large numbers of users having the same (initial) password.

I have downloaded the mozilla firefox set up when I run the program, after the intial set up extracting it is asking me a username & password, what should I enter in those feilds.

I locked a mass users using SU10, one of the user locked and immediately prompted for pwd change.

Above log is showing that only lock activity was happened from SU10 and after that User changed his password from other opened screen. Did you kick off that user from the system immediate after locking?

Password Sync Issue:JMS Listener: java.lang.ClassCastException

For AD Password sync implemetation, I have installed Sun IDM 8.0, Sun Message Queue 4.5, Open DS and Active Directory.
While configuring the IDM JMS Listner Adapter, I am getting the below error during the Test connection:
Test connection failed for resource(s):
JMS Listener: java.lang.ClassCastException: javax.naming.Reference cannot be cast to javax.jms.QueueConnectionFactory
Can someone please help me out to resolve this issue?

Can you tell us what you put in the JMS listener fields for:
java.naming.factory.intial and java.naming.factory.url
These shoudl match the settings used to create the JMX Queue.
Looks to me like you simply didn't put the right values in there.

How do I recover a password just newly created on a new i-pad?

How do I recover a password just newly created on a new i-pad? I took note of the password created but it won't recognize it.

I actually don't remember the initial process, since it happened like 15 days ago. All I kow is that I have followed the steps when i have turned it on for the first time, I remember creating an apple account, passoword, etc, but is the account password the same to unlock the i-pad? Does it come with a standard intial (default) code? Thanks!
