Intranet DNS fails, Internet still works, Other programs can access Intranet, Ok up to 3.6.6, broken in 3.6.7 upgrade

Local DNS server (corporate intranet) does not like Firfofox requests.
Intranet sites end up with:
Host Not Found
DNS error (the host name of the page you are looking for does not exist) or Server did not accept the connection.
Please check that the host name has been spelled correctly.
All external sites resolve correctly.
All internal sites can be pinged & reached with IE.
Problem stared after 3.6.7 update; 3.6.6 was ok. No changes made to corporate network.
What changed in 3.6.7 that affected DNS / authentication with local DNS?

You are not alone with issues related to the e1000e (but all they concluded was that reloading the module makes it work again):

But if none of those boot flags work for you, then there's not much you can do, and you'll have to write a script to reload the module each time after initial boot finishes I guess until the module gets fixed.
Also, power management of the PCIe interface causes the e1000e to shut off after a while as well (lots of people on CentOS noticing this):

So you can use that boot parameter to stop that from happening, if that becomes an issue for you as well.

I found a fix for this, not only firefox but several other networking programs were broken as well (Outlook and IE were ok for some reason) so I reasoned that the Norton uninstall was incomplete somehow - I had done it from the add/remove programs in the control panel. Sure enough that's not enough to release Norton's tentacles in your system, there's an uninstall tool on their website (a whole set of them actually) that managed to carve it out completely and after a restart everything was back to normal. My machines will definitely be Norton-free from now on ... N

The problem started when I turned on the computer this morning. I tried to install Mozilla 4 from your website and that installed but I still have nothing on the top.

It may be due to Firebug. Seeing as how you're a web developer, it's very possible you have this installed. The latest version, 1.7X a10, appears to cause everything you described. I downgraded to "a8" and that seems to have fixed everything.
I also recreated a profile from scratch before trying this out, so I can't guarantee it's definitely Firebug.

Airport Extreme and Airport Express are not found on the Airport Utility. Internet still works. Huh?

I have an Airport Extreme serving as my wireless router with an external hard drive connected to it. I also have an Airport Express in another room connected to a stereo for Airplay. Neither can be found on the Airport Utility (v5.5.3), but wireless internet still works. This happens often, with both reappearing in Airport Utility for short amounts of time periodically. What's the deal? Both the Extreme and Express are less than 6 months old. It's a bit frustrating not getting tunes when you have everything set up right and not being able to use Time Machine consistently.
All recommendations appreciated.

I've once had the same problem.
The reason for that issue is the frequency (radio band) hopping of the station.
On your AP-Extreme
Enter the manual setup
Disable Guest Network if not desperately needed
Set a dedicated name for the 5GHz wireless (wireless -> wireless options)
Eventually change the radio mode (if no 802.11b/g systems in your home) to "only 802.11n (5GHz) - only 802.11n (2.4GHz)" by holding down the option key *alt* while clicking on the drop down.
On your Mac
Disable (switch off) wireless
Enter system configuration -> network -> wireless
Uncheck "Ask to join new networks"
Enter advanced options and check that your wireless name is in the first position of the list. If not, drag it with the mouse to the first position.
Click apply
Join your wireless again and try to connect to the 5GHz name (SSID) because the 5GHz will improve the connection speed of your Mac remarkably.
Eventually you might change the settings on the Express too.
Check the location of the AP-Extreme.
It should NOT be placed: On the floor, in a corner, behind furniture, near metal objects, life high voltage wire or cordless phone bases.
It should be placed: As high as possible (up on a shelf or ceiling mounted) with a maximum line of sight to all stations, even thru walls.
If your home situation allows that, try to use the 5GHz band only. If you own a iPhone this must use the 2.4GHz radio.

Firefox cannot connect to internet yet other programs can!

Whenever I load Firefox 3.6.7 It doesn't connect to the internet. It constantly says "Unable to connect" however, other browsers such as Opera, I.E, Chrome, these work, also same for Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 too.

How to close Internet Explorer and other programs running on Windows?

In order for Flash Player to be installed or updated, any programs that use Flash Player must be closed. This includes Internet Explorer or other browsers, instant messengers, Skype, etc.
These programs may be running in the background, not as visible windows, but need to be closed anyway.
To close such programs use the Windows Task Manager. To start Task Manager, take any of the following actions:
Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Task Manager.
Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
Right-click an empty area of the taskbar, and then click Task Manager.
Once the Task Manager is running, select the Processes tab. On older Windows version you may need to click on the Process Name or Image Name header to sort the process names.

I went through the FAQ guide for firefox not loading webpages, but after having changed both boolean setting in the about:config section of the firefox advanced settings, deleting and re-adding it to the program permissions list in my firewall (mcafee antivirus 2011), and even attempting to completely disable the firewall for a period of time, I am still unable to browse the internet on firefox. Internet explorer, however, does work.

I have tried everything suggested. This problem happened befoer I updated Firefox and did not resolve after I updated firefox.
I tried changing internet settings, disabling firewall, and even disabling IVP6, but nothing is working.

will not print in color in either Firefox or Seamonkey.
It will print in color from Internet Explorer.

Mail can't connect to servers, but every other program can

I've seen a lot of posts about problems with Mail where the Connection Doctor says there is a connection to the server. I suddenly can't connect to any of the servers that download to Mail (so it is unlikely that I went in and changed all of the settings), but I can connect to the internet with every other program, and can check my .mac mail online.
The problem started WHILE Mail was open. I checked mail at 8.30 and it was fine; at 9.00 I was no longer able to send or receive mail.

Have you tried reinstalling Microsoft Word? Have you tried reinstalling Office? Have you run any updates recently for Microsoft Office? There was one that came out this week. You may wish to ask this question over at the Microsoft Word forums, there's a good chance you'll get a better answer as well. If you do not find a solution in the iPod nano (6th generation) - User Guide, suggest that you call AppleCare if still under warranty or take a trip to your local Apple Store or AASP.

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
