Intro to creating multiple accounts?

I want to let my mom have an account and use my computer. I want to hide my nudie pics, maybe my bookmarks & history, and not let her break anything. Where I can I find a real quick intro on the subject of setting these things up? I don't have much time to devote to it.

1 Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Accounts.
2 If some settings are dimmed, click the lock icon and type an administrator name and password.
3 Click Add and type the user's name.
4 Type a short name if you don't want to use the short name generated automatically. (Once the account is created, you won't be able to change the short name.)
5 Type the user's password in the Password and Verify boxes.
6 Type a hint to help the user remember the password if they have trouble remembering it at login.
7 Click Limitations and select options to determine what the user can do with the computer.
These instructions were found from the Finder's Help menu by typing "create new account" in the search field.

Each email address can only be on one iTunes account, and all purchases are tied to the account that buys them. If you want to have separate iTunes accounts on each then you will need separate email accounts for each iTunes account

creating multiple accounts supports natively with IDM. have you tried it?. You can enable it in your tabbed user form. see the piece of code below, enable it and try.

How to create multiple accounts on a back up USB HD?

I have an external HD linked to my network via a Network USB Hub. I have two partitions: an NTFS for my XP machine and a Mac OS Extended partition for Mac back ups. I have three Mac books in the family. I would like to set up a separate account for each of the three Macs on the external Mac partition, so that each person can have their own private back up space. I tried making four partitions (3 Mac and 1 NTFS). However, my Mac would only mount one of the partitions, and the wrong one at that. So I think having a single Mac partition and subdividing it into separate accounts may work better. I may also want a fourth account which is shared, so we can share stuff. Am I thinking of this correctly? Thanks for the help.

Get an external FWHD and use it. You've already bumped up to the problems with USB and multiple formatting schemes with the other HD. Serious backups are bootable and demand their own volume/partition. There's no need to have a shared one, use the ones associated with each macbook, and share that way.

AD-bound Macs creating multiple accounts, losing directory connection

I support a large east-coast client with a physically disparate user-group. I'm not on-site all the time so can't run the directory services log in debug mode, but have to solve the problem quickly...the shotgun approach so to speak.
AD-bound workstations always create two home folders and occasionally produce more than one NetInfo account (as many as 3) with the exact same information. On occasion this causes login failures(shake-off), the only workaround is to delete the NetInfo records and re-create the mobile account.
Symptoms of an affected workstation are also that the user can't change their own password from the accounts pref pane (user clicks on change, puts in old, new pass, clicks change, then gets prompt saying they are not allowed to do this, contact their administrator.)
dscl localhost brings up normal session, but cd-ing into Active Directory/All Domains/Users and trying to list (ls) brings back: "DS error: eDSCannotAccessSession"
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Bind the system to an AD domain with different pre and post windows 2000 profile names.
2. Log in as an AD user.
Expected Results:
1. Machine will create two home folders, using the shortname of the user you logged in as, but also able to browse the other one (username is lastnamefirstinitial, so home folder is the same, but also able to browse first.last homefolder.)
Actual Results:
The same as expected, except that on occasion two or more Netinfo records are created (seems to compound over time)
Does not occur (account duality) if naming profiles are standardized, but login issues still occur.
Anyone see this before? AD is 2003...

interesting...the only difference in the records as seen in dscl and Netinfo Mgr are the SMB last logon time/SMB password last reset time...all other entries appear identical.

Create user accounts on multiple networked computers

I have a computer lab of 21 identical systems: 20 student computers and 1 instructor computer. All are running Win 7 (32 bit). They are connected via a simple Windows network. I have 50 users, and I was wondering if I could simultaneously
create local standard user accounts for each of them on all of my computers. I know this is possible if I am running Windows Server, but I am not. Will I be able to accomplish this using Windows 7 (Ultimate)? Doing this one-by-one will be
quite tedious, and probably not feasible given the allocated resources). I am a novice, so perhaps I have omitted some key information.

I am trying to create multiple accounts for the same IDM user.
I have written a workflow which calls the subprocess to create multiple accounts. In the orignal workflow I pass the IDM accountId and the target system accountid in the Iterate loop.
In the subprocess i am checking out the user view then appending the resource specific parameters (mentioned below) and then checking in the view.

When i run this in the IDM I can see all the entries but only first one is actually created on the target resource. When I open the user object in IDM and hit Save button IDM creates the accounts on the target system.
I have already tried by using the refresh view just before the checkin view action but no luck..

One i get it i will have to parse it and get the list of application user id. I am passing those ID;s to a workflow where I am forming the resource name as you mentioned

If i get user1#user2#user3 from AS i am separating them based on # using split and getting 3 different user id;s
now i am forming a string with the resource name and passing it to the sub process in which i am checking out the user object, setting the user attributes and checking in the new view.

Problem ; When i run this user1 is getting created in LDAP but user2 and user3 are not. There entry is getting created in IDM.

Hi IDM Experts!
I've customized my userforms in order to create multiple accounts on the same resource using the syntax accounts[<resourceName>|n].<attribute> like the documentation suggests. That worked fine using Sun Identity Manager 8.1.
However, I've not been able to create new multiple accounts after I upgraded to Oracle Waveset 8.1.1 patch 5.
Is there anything else that I have to take into account for this new version? Is that a bug?

Service PO - Multiple account assignments for service line items

Hi All,
I'm trying to create a service purchase order using BAPI 'BAPI_PO_CREATE1'.
But i need to create service line items with multiple account assignments say
For line item 10 -
1)Service line 1 -Cost center 'XYZ'.
2)Service line 2 -Cost center 'ABC'.
In POACCOUNT there is no option to specify the service line item .
Moreover in POSERVICES also there is no option to mention costcenter.
How can i create the same...

Multiple account issue

I have several accounts. Generally I send mail via whichever accounts suits me (eg when on the road I use a dialup account using one server and at home a broadband account). But I only use one account, and email identity, for collecting my mail. So I want to use the same incoming mail server with different outgoing mail servers. I can do this with no problems in all my other email programs (eg Eudora), but Mail prevents me from doing this. Mail prevents me from saving an account has a incoming mail server the same as another account. I can't imagine why Apple have set up this constraint, but I can't find a work around. Any suggestions (and my apologies if this has been discussed before but I could find anything when I searched the files)

When creating an account in Mail, an account named folder is created at the first level within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account.
Due to the Mail.app account and associated mailbox filing structure at the Finder level, you cannot create multiple accounts in Mail that use the same user name and incoming mail server.
If you have a primary account and the account provides for adding additional email addresses or alias accounts that use the same user name and password as the primary account when the incoming mail server is checked for new mail for each email address, you can add each alias email address to the Email Address field separated by commas under the Account Information tab for the primary account preferences.
Messages received by each email address will be deposited in the Inbox mailbox for the primary account and when sending a message, you can select an alias email address to be the sending email address for the message from the account selection directly below the Subject field.
This doesn't help with the SMTP server selection but you can add multiple SMTP servers and change the SMTP server for an account under the Account Information tab for the account preferences.

Reconciliation to link multiple accounts with different identifiers.

Background:
Identity template uses CN=$firstname$ $lastname$,$userou$ to identify account on AD. Currently all users have a linked AD account.
Issue:
A user in IdM may have multiple accounts on Active Directory and the identifier for the second or third account on AD is the sAMaccountname attribute with an appended "-ZZ".
What can be done in order to link all IdM users with their potential multiple AD accounts?

We have one material code for a consumable material type and one valuation class attached to it. We have one Stock G/L account and multiple consumption G/L accounts. We need the post to multiple consumption G/L accounts and cost centre when we issue goods through Mvt.type:201.
What are the configuration settings to be done to create multiple account groupings in SAP . ECC6.0.?

For the scenario described by you, you need not have to make any config settings. The G/L account defined in SPRO (Valn and Automatic Acct Determination) is used for Automatic Account determination i.e. when you do not enter a specific G/L account during Goods Issue.
As can be seen from your query, you want Consumption account to be posted to different G/L accounts but the material is assigned only to 1 Matl type. There are 2 ways to solve this problem:
1. If you know the G/L accounts that the system should post to before hand i.e at the time of Matl creation itself, then you can configure Split Valuation and then assign more than 1 Valuation class to the Matl. For each of these Valn classes, you can configure Automatic Account assignment. By doing this, at the time of Goods Issue, the system will ask you the Valn type and will accordingly post to a seperate G/L account.
This is possible only if the no of G/L accounts per Matl is less (preferably 2-3)
2. If you do not know the G/L accounts before hand or the G/L accounts per Matl consumption is too many, then it is better to go for Manual Automatic Account assignment.
In this procedure, at the time of Goods issue using Mvt type 201, you can specify the G/L account and Cost Centre in Th Account Assignment Tab.
