'Intro. To Oracle9i: SQL' is out of the way, 1 down 3 to go!
Passed the 'Introduction To Oracle9i: SQL' exam this morning after a rough start last week when I lost my internet connection half-way through the online exam! This morning I barely passed due to my relaxed approach to studying. If anyone is going to take this test make sure your prepared and watch out for the smallest syntax errors in the questions as well! For the next 3 exams I am going to apply myself a LOT more than I did this time and use this forum to ask questions on material that is hard to grasp! The OCP certificate is not going to be easy judging by the content of the following exams...things take a little longer to sink in with me! Nothing worth gaining should be easy anyways!

Kuljeet the only study material I have is the Sybex books...only a couple of questions on the 1st exam were not covered in the book and the cds that come with them helped alot. Also there is a lot of errata to check for at the Sybex site for each exam book as well. I tried some free exams but it was more of a pain than a benifit because of filling out forms and installing their software just to get a dozen free questions out of the deal. IMO so far the Sybex books look like they will be all that is needed and really good study habits. Good luck!

FireFox won't run and won't get out of the way;how do I get rid of FireFox?
I have used FireFox for several years and have been happy with it. Recently it quit working and claims to have forwarded to Mozilla the hang-up but it still intervenes every time I try to use the internet and announces that it has blown up and needs to send crash report to Mozilla and over and over again. I liked FireFox but I want it to get the ___out of the way if it is not going to work. It will not get out of the way.

Open up internet explorer, go to [http://www.getfirefox.com www.getfirefox.com]. Click the big "Download Now" button, then click "Run". Let Firefox download, and follow the steps to install it. After it is finished, restart your PC, and try firing Firefox up again. Does it work?
If it doesn't, try to start Firefox in Safe Mode. Basically, just hold down the Shift key while you click on the Firefox icon, and it should start in Safe Mode. If it does, choose to disable all add-ons (we will re-enable them later) and reset all preferences (make sure you don't delete your bookmarks or personal data).
Now you should be able to start Firefox normally. You can go to your add-ons, and reenable your extensions one by one until you find what is causing the crash, and keep that one disabled.

My CSS box doesn't seem to be pushing the text out of the way

I've just managed to get CSS boxes working on my site, and as
you'll see have applied them to the right hand side of a number of
pages and added links. I looked at the site locally and online last
night from my machine and everything seemed to be working as
expected.
However, I've just got to work and had a look at some of the
pages and the text box A - doesn't seem to have extended enough to
surround all of the linked text and B - doesn't seem to have pushed
the surrounding text out of the way enough so now there's a
horrible overlapping this going on.
As I have set the box's height properties to something like
150 (can't quite remem) I'm assuming this is what is causing A and
B? So, how do I then set the box's properties so that it will
shorten or lenghten depending on how much text I put inside it -
just leave the height property field blank?

Yes. The answer is to never set the height of a box which
contains text
(unless its for a scrolling area). Let the amount of text
within the box
determine the height. -
I started watching a rental. A "new update avalible" popped up, so I clicked it to move it out of the way. Now my video disappeared and I don't want to pay another 5 dollars to rent it again. What do I do or click?
The photos are on the ipod. Photo sync will erase them. I need a way to extract them from the ipod, or to.extract them from the ipod backup that is who knows where on my PC.
I've been searching for an app to do that with no luck. They all seem to want a newer OS than is on my ipod yet I have the most recent update installed. -
Extension manager would not upgrade. Alert box states could not move old extension out of the way. Suggestions?
What you said confused me. Which version of Extension Manager do you use? Could you please attach a screenshot?

Can I move the new message box out of the way?
Once I click "new message," I can't move it out of the way. I often want to see if there was another person in the CC field that I need to copy. But instead I have to either save the message as a draft or copy my message, close the window, look, then open it back up. That's not cool.
Having the same frustration, and I agree XarBiogeek's answer is helpful. (And BTW, your message drops to the background when you return to fullscreen, but it's not lost. Just exit fullscreen again.)
I'm hoping this bug gets fixed (and, no flaming me please, it IS a bug). It's not just that the New Message window freezes in placement and size; it doesn't even let you save a draft so you can do other Mail tasks. In fullscreen you have to send or discard the new message before performing any other task. (NONE of Mail's menu options function when in fullscreen with a New Message window open.)
I don't know about others here, but the only way I've been able to save a draft (before this thread helped me get out of fullscreen) was to Copy the contents of my in-progress message and discard the window, pasting my content back into a new window when done with my other Mail tasks. -
When transfering tracks to an ipod a sliding panel appears on the right hand side of itunes. This allows the selected track to be transfered. After registering this action the panel does not slide back out of the way to allow scrolling and more song selection. Any solutions..Help?
I have an even simpler method. I use MyPublisher to print my books. I select their page layout for a two-page spread, drag and drop the image. DONE! I understand that most people have their favorite places to have work done. I have been extremely pleased with MyPublisher.com, so I haven't even tried the book module in Lightroom.

ps-I have already done the practice exams from Oracle.comYou can do a google search and download practice exams (they are generally text files) You will find a lot of questions in the exam from these practice exams.
PS:Sybex has a good book and practice test for 1Z0-007. I would definitely recommend it over Oracle Press 1Z0-007(author: Marisetti) -
My connection was lost while taking Intro To Oracle9i: SQL online!
I can't beleive my luck! I was taking the online exam: Introduction To Oracle9i yesterday (Friday, Feb. 6th 4:30PM EST) when my internet connection was lost! My ISP figured that doing a server upgrade at 4:30PM on a Friday was an ok time! Now I am probably going to get screwed for the $90USD I paid and fail the exam. I was at question# 43 of 57 when this happened. Also I will have to wait 30 days to re-test on top of it since that is the protocol! Anyways so I call Oracle Online Education support and the test I took is not even managed by Oracle...it's a Prometric company...even though Oracle logos were plastered all over the web pages while doing the test? So now they are not even open till Monday and I just know they are going to say "there is nothing we can do" and my ISP is probably going to say the same thing! I am hoping I can be able to re-test without charge even though it is my ISP's fault.
Well after explaining my situation in full detail to the Oracle Testing Staff in an email I received a cut and paste reply rite off one of the webpages which has nothing to do with what I was explaining in my email. I am really surprised that this is the way the Oracle responds to people whom are learning and promoting their products!

Can not create tab groups
This is what the site states “To make a new group, simply drag one tab out of the group and then drag a second one on top of it. A box will be drawn around them. “ but when I try to drag one on top of the other it just scoots aside and does not form a group

'Hide Skype' greyed out on the File pull down menu
Why is 'Hide Skype' gryed out in the File pull-dwon menu. I can only hide by clicking on the S in the dock.
Clearing History will empty the cache now but it will also clear your favicons. You can clear cache only by going to Safari>Preferences > Advanced and select Show develop menu in the menu bar. There is an option to clear caches from there.

From the menu drop down list we are selecting a Search concept.. At this momnet drop down list is not dissapering unless we move the cursor and click outside the screen.. then only we are the drop is disappering or when we click on esc button...
How i need to overcome this problem..
This can be seen through out the application bec it has been developed in tempaltes when we are selecting the look and feel of application...

It does depend on what is being used to display the drop-down menu in the first place.
To have a menu disappear on its own, you would probably need to use the onmouseout event: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms536948(VS.85).aspx
This can be used to call a javascript function that closes whatever object you have opened to display the menu and will be triggered as soon as the use moves the mouse away from the menu.

Ok ..I am a disabled vet at 100% from the beirut bombing of October of 83. The VA bought me this computer in 2010 and i never owned one before. I didn't own a cell phone until 2006. I am using Safari and want to play on an on-line golf site and a box appears (in the middle of the screen where I would log in as well as other sites whenever there is a video to watch) and I can't either *allow or *deny it. I never had this problem before when I had Google chrome. Somebody help.Please.
In System Preferences>Flash Player>Storage tab, select 'Allow sites to save information on this computer'.
If you are still having problems, review your plugin settings in Safari>Preferences>Security tab, make sure 'Internet Plugins' is ticked, then click on the 'Manage Website Settings' button, select Adobe Flash on the left and from the drop down menu you can manage how Flash interacts with certain sites. -
With my previous edition of Firefox, I had more bookmarks shown in the toolbar. I like it that way rather than having to move to the right and then scroll. How can I get that feature back?
